JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Morning Devotional...

Your fellowship in the gospel from the first day until now; being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.
Phil. 1:5-6

Paul reminds the saints of three times: "the first day;" "now" and "the day of Jesus Christ." This sums up the whole of the believer's experience.

The first day for the Philippians was recorded in Acts 16--the day when the gospel message reached their city and their hearts.

What about our first day in Christ? It was a happy one indeed!

And what about now? Have we grown in knowledge of Christ? We should have.

That takes us forward to the day of Jesus Christ.

What will we have to show for Him on that day?
--Reg. L. Jordan

Oh happy day
that fixed my choice
on Thee my Saviour
and my God!
Well may this glowing
heart rejoice
and tell its raptures
all abroad.

O How I Love Jesus
(Click to hear music)

Because He first loved us. 1 John 4:19

Words: Frederick Whitfield, 1855.
Music: 19th Century American melody

There is a name I love to hear,
I love to sing its worth;
It sounds like music in my ear,
The sweetest name on earth.

Chorus:
Oh, how I love Jesus,
Oh, how I love Jesus,
Oh, how I love Jesus,
Because He first loved me!

It tells me of a Savior's love,
Who died to set me free;
It tells me of His precious blood,
The sinner's perfect plea.

It tells me of a Father's smile
Beaming upon His child;
It cheers me through this little while,
Through desert, waste, and wild.

It tells me what my Father hath,
In store for every day,
And tho'I tread a darksome path,
Yields sunshine all the way.

It tells of One whose loving heart
Can feel my deepest woe,
Who in each sorrow bears a part,
That none can bear below.

It tells me what my Father hath
In store for every day,
And though I tread a darksome path,
Yields sunshine all the way.

It tells of One whose loving heart
Can feel my deepest woe;
Who in each sorrow bears
A part that none can bear below.

It bids my trembling heart rejoice.
It dries each rising tear.
It tells me, in a 'still small voice',
To trust and never fear.

Jesus, the Name I love so well,
The Name I love to hear:
No saint on earth its worth can tell,
No heart conceive how dear.

This Name shall shed its fragrance still
Along this thorny road,
Shall sweetly smooth the rugged hill
That leads me up to God.

And there with all the blood-bought throng,
From sin and sorrow free,
I'll sing the new eternal song
Of Jesus' love for me.

Chorus:
Oh, how I love Jesus,
Oh, how I love Jesus,
Oh, how I love Jesus,
Because He first loved me!

Well it looks like I'm to be first.  I have been cleaning out my computer and have so much more to put on Cd's, most will be my graphics and photos. I am trying to get everything backed up just in case. Ya never know.

All I really know about anything is that God is the one in control not me. The JOY of the Lord is my strength. Sometimes Satan steals my joy and I have to give him the heave ho. Today has been one of those days.  :'( He sure is working overtime in so many ways and using so many people to do his dirty work.  :clobber: Surely these are the last days, Oh come quickly Lord Jesus. <3

I am so glad that I don't have to be anxious for anything but by prayer and supplication and with thanksgiving I can let all my requests  made known to God. I must say that between yesterday and today I have certainly given God an earful.

Galatians 1:3-5  Grace to you and peace from God the Father, and our Lord Jesus Christ, who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us out of this present evil world, according to the will of our God and Father: to whom be the glory for ever and ever. Amen.

Isn't wonderful how the newbies are jumping right in and getting their feet wet.  Welcome to the forum!!!

Marilyn ~ Both Judy B's are my friends but I was talking about Judy B, one of my old classmates.  And no, we didn't go out to eat last evening.

Today is Red Hat Society day.  We are leaving in less than a half hour.  It is raining and cloudy!

Especially for Marilyn today:

John 16:33
"I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world."

Good morning everyone. Gotta run today. Have a wonderful day!

Pat:  Good Devotional today but the devotionals everyday are good.

It looks as though everyone is busy and yes I have been as well more items have been packed in a box to be given to a friend for her fundraising garage sale one of the items in the box is actually a new camera it is  amazing what one will do when you have a digital camera but do not fret I still have another camera to use as back up. I also have some cloths that are going to the clothing drop off.  Then I have a new baby gift to wrap and oh yes a couple of Birthday cards to put in the mail.

I have been getting several items out of the house but the space in far from being empty.

Rob:  I need for you to come and introduce me to your photography skills.

Gotta run along     Ruth

Hi folks...

Just got in from a medical appointment.  And while I was there, I mentioned about Kathleen living with me now and that she needed to find a doctor and my doctor gave me a form for her to fill in and so now Kathleen has a doctor.  There are so many, many that cannot find a family doctor these days and must just rely on Walk In Clinics so we're blessed that she would consent to this.

I picked a quart of blackberried again today.  I'm going to enjoy these in the winter months.

Thanks for that verse for Marilyn, Rob.  It blessed me as well.  Thanks!

Hi everyone.  Didn't get to CP yesterday as we had an extremely busy day.  Today wasn't as busy but managed to find plenty to do

Tonight is choir practice, which I always enjoy.  Hopefully this is our last really hot day for a few days and I think that we have a good chance of getting the rain during the next few days.  Sure hope so.

Good to read everyones postings but don't have the time to comment individually today.  I did use my GPS yesterday afternoon for a trip Pat and I made and it worked very well.  Think we are really going to appreciate it as Atlanta isn't an easy area to get around in.

rob

Good afternoon everyone. Hope all is going well for each of you.

Ruth, check out my website,  www.robgardnerphotography.com
I have quite a few photos posted there.

Good evening everyone !

Ooops, didn't get in this morning to say hello - sorry!

I hope all of you had a great day.  Mine has been bizzy and so has Karma's.

I hope all of you see Jesus in a very real and personal way today.
I survived open heart surgery.... :)

Larry...I do the choir a favor by not requesting to sing with them :)  The Lord thinks I sing His songs wonderfully, but the rest of the congregation has reservations ;)

Pat, what time should I show up for the blackberry pie?

Rob, what a blessing to see you enjoying this site.

I played some golf this afternoon.   I have a tournament to play this weekend and if I play like I did today....well...let's just leave it at that  :yikes:

Hi, friends,

Today was a busy day at work, and very productive. For the ability to do the job I have, I'm very grateful to God.

Yes, that blackberry pie sounds good, but I must watch my diet - I think I'll have a "cyber-piece" - thanks!

Y'all have a good evening.

Ruth Ann
...his compassions fail not.  They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.

Pat

Well, now, Carl... If you were closer, I'd make you a whole pie.  I have enough blackberries this year.  I feel really blessed.

I'll bring one here to our Cafe tomorrow ;)

Hi Ruth Ann..  So happy to see you.  Time we had another telephone visit. ;)

Rob, hope you're putting some of your lovely photos into our gallery.

JESUS LOVES ME

Jesus loves me, this I know,
Though my hair is white as snow.
Though my sight is growing dim,
Still He bids me trust in Him.

CHORUS
YES, JESUS LOVES ME
YES, JESUS LOVES ME
YES, JESUS LOVES ME
FOR THE BIBLE TELLS ME SO.

Though my steps are oh, so slow,
With my hand in His I'll go.
On through life, let come what may,
He'll be there to lead the way.

CHORUS

Though I am no longer young,
I have much which He's begun.
Let me serve Christ with a smile,
Go with others the extra mile.

CHORUS

When the nights are dark and long,
In my heart He puts a song.
Telling me in words so clear,
"Have no fear, for I am near."

CHORUS

When my work on earth is done,
And life's victories have been won.
He will take me home above,
Then I'll understand His love

CHORUS

I love Jesus, does he know?
Have I ever told Him so?
Jesus loves to hear me say,
That I love Him every day.

CHORUS

Jesus Love Me!!  One of the most wonderful songs I've ever known.   Pat, I didn't know about all the verses.  Do we/you know who wrote that song?

My sis came today.  She and my daughter worked on the song they're doing for my niece.  Mostly today they found out what they don't want. :)  The final taping will be on Sunday after church.  Their voices blend wonderfully, so I know the song will turn out right.  My daughter finished the keyboard part tonight and has it on disk.  All they need to do now is record voices and some "strings" from the keyboard.  Boy, oh boy, you can have it all in one instrument now.  My favorite is still sitting around the camp fire with guitars and a harmonica and family voices singing old familiar hymns.  I don't think that will happen again with my family....so on with the new generation and their new fangled musical instruments.  Oh, and computers with recording equipment.

Hi, Rob.  Welcome to CP.

Praise The Lord From Who ALL Blessings Flow!!!    Oh, what joy to know I belong to Him.  His mercy overwhelms me.

Nita
