Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Morning Devotional...

Though He slay me, yet will I trust in Him: but I will maintain mine own ways before Him.
Job 13:15

On one hand, this passage displays a wonderful acceptance of the divine will for Job's life.

On the other hand Job states that he will argue his case before Him.

Having bowed to God's sovereign purposes the Lord understands that we need to talk and tell Him how we feel. Some of the words of Job and the Psalmist may seem to be questioning God, but God reads the heart and acknowledges that we need someone to whom we can pour out our troubles.

It is therapeutic and often brings great peace.
--Brian Russell

Tho' I am poor and needy, too,
and scarce know what to say;
And tho' my words are faint and few,
my God will hear me pray.

Thank-you Pat.

This scripture encourages me times without number.

The Radio is full of the Foetal research and the subject of cloning....yes cloning! One Christian Man...not Bishop Harries, reminded us of Mary rushing to see Elizabeth when she knew she was pregnant and John leaping in Elizabeth's womb to greet Jesus!!!...think about it!!!  Bishop Harries said that the foetus isnt alive as a person!!! God help the Church of England!

Good morning to y'all.

Hi, Sarah, I see you're online, too! Hope your day is wonderful.

Well, I must busy about - it's chilly so when I awakened I was really cold, covered up head and ears (literally), and fell back asleep. Not a good thing to do on a workday.  :-\

Y'all have a day filled with loving praises to our Lord.

Good Morning to everyone, Ruth Ann I too did not get up when I should have and I missed prayer meeting this morning. My bed was so nice and warm I shut off the alarm before it went off and went back to sleep. Now I feel very convicted.

Thank you Pat for the work you put into our devotionals each day researching, finding and posting them and the songs and everything that you do for us.

Brother Al I have never said thank you for your work that you do for us also.

ust go check the prayers now and I will be back before I go to work.

I have a Union meeting to go to after work today.

Jenny ~ It was an attempted murder.  A teenage girl was having a party while her parents were away.  They were drinking.  She was trying to make two guys leave and shot her gun...hitting one of them several times.  They finally 'dropped' him off at the hospital a couple of hours later.  Then the police investigated.  Just shows that affluent people are not exempt from problems in their lives.  This girl was only 17.  She is on house arrest now.  He dad is a farmer that farms lots of ground around here...in fact, west and north of me.

Liz ~ The book sounds very interesting.  I cannot fathom how anyone can NOT believe there is a God that created everything....just look at the pictures of our bugs and insects as an example.

Chris ~ I love that....
Quote"I am too blessed to be stressed."
And Corrie Ten Boom said, [/b]
Quote"Look around and you'll be distressed. Look within, and you'll be depressed. Look to the Lord, and you'll be at rest."
I love that, too.  Thank you, Chris.

Sonja ~ Our paper stated last night that all our county schools would be in session by Aug 18th.  That is too early.  We have a lot of snow days each year so they want to make sure the kids have enough school days in as well as time off for Fall, Spring and Christmas breaks.  Is Troy and Zach going to school this year or are you still going to home school them?

Papa John ~ Funny!  All of our financial problems would be solved if we could find such a Bible.

JUDYB!!!!!!!!!  Hi!!!!!  I miss you but I think about you daily!!!!!

Sarah ~ Ah, sweetie!  You are too blessed to be stressed.  Everything you mentioned was not caused by you unless it is your friends being upset because you went to Elkhart.  Sooooooo?  Just hang in there and look UP!!!!

Pat ~ It is wonderful to know that God wants our every thoughts brought before him....even our anger, our doubts, our troubles.  We have the God Almighty to talk to at anytime.  Thank you for the devotion.

Jenny ~ I have had two miscarriages.  I hadn't even felt movement.  BUT they were tiny, little humans and the loss was just as painful at the time as if they had been born and then died.  No, Foetal research and the subject of cloning isn't God's plan.

I simply cannot believe the weather here in Indiana.  I have had almost a week of windows being open at night and no A/C on.  Even the humidity is low.  I like the coolness of the fresh air blowing on me while sleeping.  Even too nippy to have an arm out from under the covers.  I checked the temperature on my thermometer on the deck and it was only 55°F at 7:30 a.m.  Not much higher two hours later.  My toes are froze sitting here!!!!!   :o

I have been praying on how to save some money.  Did God give everyone in central Indiana cooler weather to answer my prayers?

Jenny

Hello All.

I went to the dentist this morning.  All was well. No fillings just a scale and polish.

Just had an e mail from Helen, my dear "baby" daughter.  She had a ganglion removed this morning and I am very proud of her since she is terrified of needles, having spent a large part of her life in hospital and receiving injections.,  a large needle was used to remove this. Helen said "It wasn't a ganglion Mummy, it was an alien. The doctor said it was a tough little 'b' !!!"....Oh dear she is so funny. Always manages to come smiling through.  That's my girl!

Etta Sue, God Bless you too.  You like Janet and Beth understand too well that it is wrong even though such research might have helped in your situations. I am very proud of you girl!., So glad also re the arrest of the offender.  I wondered why you could leave windows open.  I love the little "Dinky" Etta Sue. Can I print this out for someone I know please?

Al Popping into Psalms next per that query earlier.  Thanks for posting it up.

I had plans to go for a  ride this afternoon but the thunder arrived and torrential rain has ensued.  This Tropical heatwave is not nice! Even for me who needs a warm through after the Wintery weather we had been experiencing upto a couple of weeks ago. I commissurate with you Ruth Ann.

Hi Marilyn    :D

Time for tea now...Just pop to see Psalms first.

Oh gosh here's the thunder again...

Luv u all,
Jenny.

Janet

I have been to the doctor already today, something I don't do unless I feel forced to it.  My ankles have been staying swollen all the time and by evening walking is painful.  It was pretty much a waste of time and money, though.  He says it's because of my blood pressure med, and only prescribed MORE water pills.  Sigh..........

Jenny, I heard on the radio this morning about your country okaying cloning for harvesting stem cells from fetuses.  If a fetus isn't a baby on conception, when does it change into one?  It is so sad to see how many people are moving so far from the truths of the Bible.  I also heard the other day on TV that only about 49% of the young people in the US believe there is any such thing as absolute truth!  Just makes you want to cry......... :'(

Some friends are taking Beth out to lunch today, and I'm so happy about that.  She need to get out more, and with other people than just Mom.

I have lunch to make for my guys, then my class at 1:30.  I will likely be back later, though.

Hi everyone.  I finally gave in and went to see the doctor this morning as had another earache (3rd night in a row).  He said since I have been fighting this cold well over 2 weeks that wasn't the problem but do have some congestion in the eustation tube and may have a bit of baterial infection so gave me a sulfa drug to take for 10 days just as a precaution.  If my ear didn't ache I would be feeling pretty good now with only the residue of a cough.

Good to read all of the postings and I am going to be brief today as want to get some extra rest this afternoon.  We had over an inch of rain early this morning and it looks like we will be getting a lot more possibily, although the forecasters are not sure what will happen here in the Atlanta area.

Sonifo

Etta Sue~Yes I plan to homeschool the boys all the way.  They don't want to go to school so I am stuck doing it.  Which is ok with me.  They are pretty fun to be with.

I got my prints in for my client.  They turned out pretty good.  ;D I think she will be happy with the results.  I already have another client lined up.  I just need to find some 1920's outfits.  Does anyone have any idea where I can get some?

I better get going. I have a ton of things to get done.

Love Soni

Janet

Beth called and said Mindi, a friend of hers from college days was there, so I went over to say hello and to help get Beth into the car.  I told Mindi that if she can't handle getting the wheelchair out and all, not to hesitate to ask somone at the restaurant for help.  Most people are kind and like to be helpful, but do wait to be asked at times.  I hope they have a good time.  Mindi has had her share of problems; she had a brain tumor and surgery for that; then she had seizures for several years and had to give up her driver's license.  But she has been siezure free now for a few years, so has her license back.  She has two daughters.  She has been a loyal friend to Beth through the years, and was there when we almost lost Beth after that car accident.  Sweet girl. (TMI?  Sorry.)

I am getting ready to take the boys to the pool.  I had Justin call this time to be sure they can swim!  It is very hot and humid outside today.

Later!

Just a quick run in and out.

Thank you , Etta, for sharing Chris's posting--I just printed out

Too Blessed to be stressed and it is hanging on the wall--right by the time
clock so I know all will see it.(in fact, hubby just re -read part of it to me
with teary eyes--he is really becoming an "old softie..)

Get well, Larry, you just reminded me that I should get a check up.
Had nasty chest/cough congestion since coming back from vacation
and an earache for the last three nights.

This rainy Jersey weather is not helping me one bit.

Looks like Bonnie and Charley will be ruining our weekend.

Storms are approaching.

Take care all, talk to you later--want to check my post in Manna to see if I posted it
correctly. It was quite lengthy but so worthwhile.

Love in Christ,
Joyce

Greetings to everyone,
I wanted to drop a quick line.. I had to read up on all of you..

I haven't been feeling to well,   I am down with my back again..I had my lower spine crushed. I had a very bad accident that happened to my back about 5 years ago.. . It still has alot of damage to it..  Some days I think moving Miss Cheryl around dosen't help..  I do very well on the most part but every now and then it gives way..
This is one of the reasons I am studying real estate, I would love to continue to help people and I think helping people find a way to buy their own home to live in would be a great way..
So please continue to pray for me that I will finish my studies and pass the test with a 100%, and that I will still be a blessing in other ways to people..Ata different part of there life and I will save my back for the rest of my life..

Whoever came up with this one must have had some Divine guidance!

Fierce winds are bound to blow
            God is forever able
Hold on to what you know

Evangelism: A Cheap Salvation

But we have renounced the hidden things of shame, not walking in
craftiness and handling the word of God deceitfully, but by
manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man's
conscience in the sight of God.
--2 Corinthians 4:2

Here again is seen the glaring discrepancy between Biblical
Christianity and that of present-day evangelicals, particularly
in the United States....

To make converts here we are forced to play down the difficulties
and play up the peace of mind and worldly success enjoyed by those
who accept Christ. We must assure our hearers that Christianity is
now a proper and respectable thing and that Christ has become quite
popular with political bigwigs, well-to-do business tycoons and the
Hollywood swimming pool set. Thus assured, hell-deserving sinners
are coming in droves to "accept" Christ for what they can get out
of Him; and though one now and again may drop a tear as proof of
his sincerity, it is hard to escape the conclusion that most of
them are stooping to patronize the Lord of glory much as a young
couple might fawn on a boresome but rich old uncle in order to be
mentioned in his will later on.  Born After Midnight, 17.

"Lord, don't let me fall into the trap of offering a cheap
salvation. Remind me often that redemption that cost the life of
Your Son should never be so cheapened. Amen"

The awards ceremony was nice, and even nicer was that Leslie felt well enough to attend. Kinda like all those years I went to ceremonies and presentations with my kids - so he was with me.

A nice feeling to know a family member could attend.

Thank goodness, it's just a little past 5 pm and I'm already at home. Maybe tomorrow will also be a good day at work.

Sarah, I'm thankful your schoolday went well.

Jenny, it really means a lot to hear from our children, doesn't it.

Etta Sue, I also am thankful for the nice weather. But, since I'm so cold natured, I turned on the heat in my truck on the way to work this morning. Brrr - below 75 and I'm freezing!

Y'all have a wonderful evening.

I am home from work now and will be going to that meeting in about 2 hours. I have to stop at the bank to make a deposit on the way and buy some potatoes to cook with my little roast for supper tomorrow. I will be putting it in the crock pot before I go to work in the morning.

I hope you have all had a good day today.  We have had perfect weather today, not cold but a little cool, with low humidity.  Right now it is 68 degrees.  I could stand this weather all the time.

This morning I spoke at the worship at the nursing home and used the poem about JESUS LOVES ME which Pat posted.  Everyone seemed to like it very much.  I try to present lessons appropriate for the elderly.   You will remember the first verse

QuoteJesus loves me, this I know,
Though my hair is white as snow.
Though my sight is growing dim,
Still He bids me trust in Him.

Cornelia and I had a sad experience today.  We were going in a store and right outside the police had stopped what looked like a family, man, woman and two children.  They were putting cuffs on the man.  Clerks in the store were all up front looking at what was happening .  I asked them what was going on.  They told me that they were caught shop-lifting and they had called the police.  It was sad to me to think of those children whose parents were by their example teaching them to steal.

Let us pray for the people on the west coast of Florida tonight that they will be safe in the storm.

Eph 4:25-29
25   Therefore each of you must put off falsehood and speak truthfully to his neighbor, for we are all members of one body.
26   "In your anger do not sin": Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry,
27   and do not give the devil a foothold.
28   He who has been stealing must steal no longer, but must work, doing something useful with his own hands, that he may have something to share with those in need.
29   Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.
(NIV)

Eph 2:8-9  For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-- and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God-- not by works, so that no one can boast.(NIV)
