Janet: Hello, Friends!  Let's get this going again!  I miss  hearing from all of you! 2025-01-23, 19:26:16

Don: Hey Judy, It's been a long time. Hope you are doing well. 2024-12-02, 22:41:41

JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

It is not how much we have, but how much we enjoy, that makes happiness.
~Charles Haddon Spurgeon~

Morning Devotional...

And when He had so said, He showed unto them His hands and His side.  Then were the disciples glad, when they saw the Lord.
John 20:20

Sadness was turned to gladness.

Fear was turned to joy.

They thought their Lord was dead; now He showed Himself to them.

What an experience that must have been for those disciples! They would remember that day for as long as they lived.

One day we shall see Him and be with Him for all eternity.

What a happy day that will be--and it could be today!
--John M. Clegg

O what shall we feel in Thy presence when first
The visions of glory upon us shall burst?
Since now our soul longeth and seeketh for Thee;
O when, blessed Saviour, Thy face shall we see?
E. Grimley

O That Will Be Glory
(Click to hear music)

We share in His sufferings in order
that we may also share in His glory.
Romans 8:17

Words & Music: Charles H. Gabriel

When all my labors and trials are o'er,
And I am safe on that beautiful shore,
Just to be near the dear Lord I adore,
Will through the ages be glory for me.

Refrain
O that will be glory for me,
Glory for me, glory for me,
When by His grace I shall look on His face,
That will be glory, be glory for me.

When, by the gift of His infinite grace,
I am accorded in heaven a place,
Just to be there and to look on His face,
Will through the ages be glory for me.

Refrain

Friends will be there I have loved long ago;
Joy like a river around me will flow;
Yet just a smile from my Savior, I know,
Will through the ages be glory for me.

Refrain

Anyone who has spent any time overseas in a developing country can truly understand the devotional here.  I remember from Mongolia, the numerous times I would be visiting someone out in the country that had absolutely nothing, how they would open their doors and hearts to us with joy, even though they didn't have anything.

We just got back from a weekend in Vilnius, Lithuania, doing some business, and while there, my daughter and wife both got some kind of food poisoning and had to spend Saturday and Sunday at the Baltic/American Clinic (mini-hospital).  We PTL for that place, English speaking staff and doctors who are trained like Americans.  They are all better now, and we are back home in Minsk.

This is the first time in many many years that I've been able to watch the Olympics with English commentators, not American commentators, but still being able to understand what is going on sure is nice.  About a month ago I found a channel off the satellite that broadcasts sports in English.
A watched clock never boils.

Awesome graphic, Pat!  You are the best at that stuff.

So true!!!

I am getting ready to go exercise.   I will be back later.

Good Morning: I have just heard some sad news on the news. A man diving for Abalone down the coast in the next county has been killed by a Great White shark.

I don't have a lot of time here this morning.  I did not sleep well last night. My bronchial area is burning as if I have been smoking too much. I wasn't around anyone smoking yesterday as Gloria and I spent the morning at the church.  I am so glad that I quit smoking when I did, but I am praying that I am not going to have ill effects anytime soon. It could possible be my asthma, I have taken my meds and used my inhaler this morning and it is still burning.

Jenny are you feeling any better yet? I see you haven't been here today.

Hey Al you gotta catch up with me you are 2 Psalms behind.

Sonja ~ Your smileys makes your posts so playful!  They are so much fun.

I am happy that y'all liked my SHMILY!  It is sad but a happy writing.  And, Judy, I have a feeling that could have been my grandparents.  They were married a few months less than 70 years when Grandpa passed away.  He was 90 and Grandma went on to see 101 years.  Grandpa loved to tell stories.  Some of them were tall tales!  We believed him.  But if Grandma said...'Now, Dad!' we knew to erase that belief from our minds.  Grandpa was pulling our leg.

Jerry is coming back today and we are going to try once again to get his rebate going for his new monitor.  The Website was stating...easy rebates.  Hahahahahahaha!  Easy, my eye!

Hi Everyone...

Just got back from Hamilton about an hour ago and now I'm leaving for Orangeville to take my computer tower up to a fellow.  I may have blown the power supply.  Nothing I did caused it except I was shutting down for the night and it wouldn't shut down and then I used the button on the back of the machine and now it won't go on again.  >:(

I'm on the very, very slow laptop.

I'll talk to you later afternoon or early evening.  I have to leave it up there so that will mean another trip on Friday.

Nice to see your post Mike and hope that your wife is feeling so much better now.  I'm sorry she went through that.

Mike, glad your wife and daughter are better.  I sure do enjoy your posts, it is fun to learn a bit about other countries and cultures.

It looks as if we are off to a slow start in NEM today!  Tuesday must be a busy day for folks.  I got in my half mile swim, watched the 700 Club, now will catch up here and get busy on daily chores.

Thank you so much to those of you who are going to send birthday cards to Beth.  I know that will brighten her day, and she will have them to look at for a long time to come, and know that people care for her.  May God bless you all richly for doing that.

Sarah, the party won't be here at my house, but in town, at one of the churches.  I have to call and make arrangements, will let you know where.  Beth attends three different ones, it sort of depends on her transportation.  But they all love and welcome her when she can get there.  I don't have room enough, and it would be harder to surprise her if it were here.

Marilyn, I hope your problem goes away quickly, and that it is not damage from the years of smoking that is showing up.  Keep on praying!  (And I know you do.)

Pat, what a great card for SteelerDirtFreak.............may I also add my HAPPY BIRTHDAY, STEELERDIRTFREAK, and many more!

I will be back later, after I put out a few fires around here.

Pat:  Great devotional   Thanks

Jenny: How is your cold?  A cold is awful but as we get older I think we are much more uncomfortable.

So far it has been a very lazy day a little clean up and now lunch.

On our vacation we went to Mel's family reunion in New Liskeard which is 2 hrs. north of North Bay beautiful country then we spent the rest of the week at a Lodge closer to North Bay while there we went fishing or out in the boat almost every day. The fresh fish we would have for dinner then drove into town for the French fries and ice cream. Mid week we went raspberry & blueberry picking as they were just ready a little late this year. We did make lots of noise so the bears and other wild life did stay away.  We were able to bring enough berries home for a couple of deserts as well.

Now on to getting some lunch and a cup of tea.

Sunlight
(Click to hear music)

?In his right hand he held seven starts, and out of his mouth came a sharp double-edged sword.  His face was like the sun shining in all its brilliance.? Revelations 1:16

Words: J. W. Van De Venter
Music: W. S. Weeden

I wandered in the shades of night,
Till Jesus came to me,
And with the sunlight of His love
Bid all my darkness flee.

Refrain

Sunlight, sunlight in my soul today,
Sunlight, sunlight all along the way;
Since the Savior found me,
Took away my sin,
I have had the sunlight of His love within.

Tho' clouds may gather in the sky,
And billows round me roll,
However dark the world may be
I've sunlight in my soul.

Refrain

While walking in the light of God,
I sweet communion find;
I press with holy vigor on,
And leave the world behind.

Refrain

I cross the wide extended fields,
I journey o'er the plain,
And in the sunlight of His love
I reap the golden grain.

Refrain

Soon I shall see Him as He is,
The light that came to me;
Behold the brightness of His face,
Thro'out eternity.

Evangelism: "I Gave It All Up!"

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things
have passed away; behold, all things have become new.
--2 Corinthians 5:17

I have been asked more than once what I gave up when I was converted
and became a believing child of God. I was a young man, and I well
remember that I gave up the hot and smelly rubber factory. I was
making tires for an hourly wage, and I gave that up to follow
Christ's call into Christian ministry and service.

As a youth I was scared of life and I was scared of death--and I gave
that up. I was miserable and glum and unfulfilled--and I gave that
up. I had selfish earthly and material ambitions that I could never
have achieved--and I gave them up.

That forms the outline of the worthless things that I gave up. And
I soon discovered that in Jesus Christ, God had given me everything
that is worthwhile.

If God takes away from us the old, wrinkled, beat-up dollar bill we
have clutched so desperately, it is only because He wants to
exchange it for the whole Federal mint, the entire treasury! He is
saying to us, "I have in store for you all the resources of heaven.
Help yourself!"
Jesus, Author of our Faith, pp. 49-50

"Why am I so hesitant to share the Gospel, Lord--when this is what
I'm asking people to give up? Thank You for all we gain through our
new life in Christ--in exchange for all the junk we give up! Amen."

O, how some hymns can lift you up!
This one does it for me, it reminds me of just how much my Saviour has done and is doing and will do for me!
It's all there, Salvation, Redemption, Healing, Atonement, Glorious  Hope.

and--
"One day the trumpet will sound for His coming,
One day the skies with His glories will shine;
Wonderful day, my beloved One bringing;
Glorious Savior, this Jesus is mine!"

Let the words sink into your very soul, be joyful, be grateful, be expectant.
Regards Chris. :)

Hi everyone.  This is going to be brief today as am about exhausted.  Got up early and walked at the "Y" and then had coffee at the cafe as usual.  Left early to take my friend home and then came home and picked up Pat as I had an appointment with my cardiologist and his office is about an hour away.  There was a long traffic backup but got there on time and saw him about 20-30 later than my appointment.  Then headed back home we got into another traffic backup related to road work and it was almost 1 pm when we got back to the house and I was due at Calvin Cove at 1 pm.  So I grabbed an apple and some pecans and headed to the church.  In about 45 minutes I have two young men (twins) coming to help me with the computer network to see if we can get it work better.

I have read all the messages posted in NEM and was sorry to read that you are having more computer problems, Pat.  I think you use it so much that you are wearing it out!  :D  Hope the repair is simple.

Alma, nice to read you are feeling better.

Nards, your August Fest sounds like it was a joy and time of great celebration.  Hope Karma is feeling better now.  I miss her postings.

My mother taught me to iron at a young age and while I seldom do so I think I know how and really don't mind doing it occasionally.  Now, please no one tell my wife that!!

Marilyn, I watched some of gymnastics last evening but really haven't watched very much of it.

I should have a lot more time tomorrow and more energy for posting.

karmat

Hello all!  I am feeling better (thanks for wondering), and I hope the worst is over.  Supposedly, the first trimester and third trimester is bad, with the second giving some respite.  I was never sick when I was carrying Travis, so this is actually very new to me, in one sense.  BUT, I am feeling better, and I seem to have a little more energy (at least during some parts of the day).  If all goes well, we will find out what "it" is on Sept. 3. :-)

I've missed being in here.  I just want to go on "record" as saying I was not unhappy with CP, or distressed about anything here, I was just not physically able to do anything.  Hopefully, that is changing, and  I can start to at least pop in and say "HI" or something.

I hope all is going well for each of you.  I think of you often.

karmat

Sonifo

Hey Karmat!!!  Nice to see you posting.  ((hug))  I think it is a girl!  Girls do that to you. hehehe...just kidding.  Glad to hear you are feeling better.

Ruth Ann Bice

Well - hate to shoot your theory down, Soni, but my mom had to send me to stay with my grandparents the summer she was expecting my brother - she had a rough way of it for several months, but then felt better.

Karmat - we love you - come when you can.

I really feel bad about Pat's computer problems. Certainly hope it can be taken care of very quickly.

Must go - y'all have a good evening.

Ruth Ann

Al Moak

Hi y'all.  What a day!  Started off at about 3AM this morning with a power outage for three hours.  Marbeth uses an Apria breathing machine (sleep apnia), so she had to sleep "natural" for a change.  I was just heating up some water on the gas stove for coffee this morning when the power came back on, so I went back to the microwave.  Then we discovered that the stove is old, dilapidated, outdated, decrepit, etc., with only two of four burners working at all.  Our gas gas and Electric company came, told me it wouldn't be cost effective to get it fixed, as it had a number of things wrong with it.  It would be better, he said, to get a new one.  They told me Sears has sales some times on stoves, so I called them, found out it would cost only about $200, +installation, disposal.  That's not too bad, but I figured I'd have to wait a couple of months or more to have the cash.  Then, in the mail today, we received over $1100 cash value on a life insurance policy we didn't need any more.  Took it to the bank, called sears, ordered the stove.  Took the car to see about the continually lit "engine light," found out it can wait 3 to six months - more money saved.  Isn't it wonderful - the Lord knew all about all the needs!  He took care of everything, left us with additional for painting the place and new carpet, which we'll also have to do before long.  Thank You, Lord!

Pat

I'll be back.  Can't stay right now but...

1.  Fried motherboard
2.  Power supply
3.  Something to do with RAM

That's the diagnosis of the computer problem and I probably won't have it back till Friday.

I've been told it will be about $380 to fix.  :'(

I might be having Phil and little Andrew here to sleep tonight so I have to run and make a bed and get some supper ready for them.

Great to see you, Karma.  I wouldn't want to know the sex of my unborn baby.  One of the biggest thrills I ever had was hearing them say, "It's a boy!" or "It's a girl!" when they were born.  But many do find out now before but that's just me. ;)
