Janet: Hello, Friends!  Let's get this going again!  I miss  hearing from all of you! 2025-01-23, 19:26:16

Don: Hey Judy, It's been a long time. Hope you are doing well. 2024-12-02, 22:41:41

JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Oldiesmann: So sorry for your loss Carol. Praying for you and your family :( 2022-05-01, 17:13:05

Morning Devotional...

And He went through the cities and villages, teaching, and journeying toward Jerusalem.
Luke 13:22

Our Lord was constantly engaged in a busy ministry.

But whether teaching, preaching, or healing, in Judea, Samaria, or Galilee, whether in city or village, by the lakeside or on the mountainside, He always journeyed toward Jerusalem. He knew all that Jerusalem held in store for Him.

Gethsemane!

Gabbatha!

Golgotha!

But He could not be deflected. His face was always toward Jerusalem. It was His Father's will.
—Jim Flanigan

No unforeseen event,
E'er took Him by surprise;
Toward the Cross with fixed intent,
He moved with open eyes.

What a day!

Carol, I hope that your roof gets done without too much delay.  Illegals are getting the work I'm sure because they are willing to do the "grudge" jobs that the "legals" won't or don't want to do.  Such a shame that it is this way.

Pat, did your new fridge arrive and get installed okay?  Did you safely get your Granddaughter picked up and your Grandson returned?

Etta Sue, I really enjoy working with Excel, and I know that there is much about it that I don't know.  I find that with most computer programs there is always something to learn.

Liz, such a shame that things can't be left alone as long as possible.

Karen, nice news about your father!

Larry, how was dinner?  Was it as good as Appleby's was?

Janet, ouch!  To think that not that long ago we lived without computers  ::)  I couldn't imagine life without mine, but I know that if I had to replace it right now, I would find a way to make do without it as they are so expensive here to replace.

The training for the new computer system went really well.  It is one that all stores under the master umbrella will be using and the store I am in is the last one to be getting the system.  Pretty much most of the kinks have now been worked out.  It is the reverse to what I am currently used to, but still seems like it will be an easy system to use.  Time will tell.  Then I came home and spent the afternoon preparing and sending resumes and covering letters.  I then went out and got gas in my car during the yo-yo drop game that the gas stations seem to like playing here.  Now it is time for bed I think.

Pat

Hi Sue...

Yes, got James up  to his father's in Orangeville and before that we went to Walkerton (actually Formosa) and picked up Sharon.  We had supper there and then let James visit for awhile with his cousins and then set off.  Lots of miles!

I have actually been awake since 3:30 - the two darlings wanted to sleep in the guest room with me & not in the room with twin beds so, they still talk in their sleep once in awhile.  I am driving them to another town to meet with daughter & hand-over as they have piano lessons & so forth plus school begins for them tomorrow.

We have 3 parties interested in our trailer.  Don has offered to drive half way for all & I surely hope that the closest one will drive here to see it tomorrow, or, otherwise the longest trip would be for us to drag it about 500 miles as that lady lives in Victorville, CA.  We would not do that unless it was a firm sale.  We shall see what is planned for us.

Sue:  The roof is coming along quickly and tarp is down.  Lots of noise yesterday and there will be more today.  I don't know - these business people need to pay more and help with health care.  But you are so right on some jobs.  The ski industry has a dispensation to hire illegals because they have to make mega bucks and the burden falls on taxpayers - sorry, I really don't want to sound like an unfeeling person but there are many unknown things about hiring practice in this nation.  I think I won't mention this anymore as it is totally off topic.  It is always good to see your posts.

Janet:  I am up earlier than you today!  But I will be draggin this afternoon.  How is your mother now?  I hope you get your new computer quickly - is it a Dell?

Larrry:  Did I mention that Don did the uninstall & reinstall on the Adobe & everything shows that it should work perfectly?  Don is just so overwhelmed with the details of trying to sell this trailer right now that he can't deal with the Microsoft information that they forwarded.  It is like a government contract, too much and not simple language to understand.  I hope that your weather is improving as much as ours is at this time of the year.

Pat:  I have always thought that it would be so wonderful to actually go to Jerusalem and walk in the footsteps.  How nice that your grandson came to visit and help as well.

Carol before I moved to Northern California 2 years ago I lived in a little town outside of Victorville called Lucerne Valley. So I know where VV is.

Good morning to everyone, It is chilly here this morning and I turned on the heater. Hope it warms up a little this afternoon.

I will be babysitting the g-kids on Monday nights for the fall sememster as Gilbert is going to take a Real Estate class.  I will be driving back and forth to Blue Lake part of the time and the kids will be coming here part of the time.

Sue and Etta sue I don't  remember much of what I learned about Excel in the 6 week computer course I took. I haven't used it since but would like to.

Janet sorry to hear about your computer crashing. I hope you can get back on line soon. What  brand of Computer did you order? Is it a Dell? I sure like my Dell. I see where Microsoft is coming up  with a new program and won't be using XP in 2006.

I hope the new members will soon come over to NEM to tell us about themselves.

Trish aren't you the same Trish who was here before?

I had a nice post addressing each of you but lost it.... >:( >:(  I didn't even find a Back arrow to go back so you all just have to imagine what I was saying to you all..... ;)

Not much planned for today.  The yard needs mowed but I vowed that I wasn't mowing until five days after the last mowing and that is tomorrow.  Suppose to be sunny so tomorrow will be Mowing Day.  And yes, it seems that I am mowing all the time.  The good thing about Fall, less mowing.  The bad thing about Fall...Winter is next!!  Snow!!  But you don't have to mow snow...just push it around.

Really nice sleeping last night.  So quiet.  No ceiling fan humming.  No A/C blower going.  Just silence.  The temp got down to 62°.  If it weren't so humid, I would open the windows ..... but....

It is 22*C here in the north today nice but much cooler than we had before.  The trees are starting to turn and the geese are flocking.  These are sure signs of the coming season.  We have beans and zucchini to pick as well our squash are ripening.

Thinking about the seasons reminds me of a verse.  "2 Timothy 4:2  Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. KJV

Well I must go I have laundry to fold and put away.

Etta Sue I have to mow too.  Our growth is considerably slower than the first part of summer.

Bye for now
Judy

Well we are having another hot day here in Nashville, Tennessee, but it has let up a little with a high of 90 instead of 98.

Tonight our guest speaker for our summer series is David Ring who speaks on the subject, "I Have Cerebral Palsy, What's Your Problem?"  I'm looking forward to hearing him.  I have heard him on TV but this is the first time in person.  We have had an interesting Wednesday night Summer Series.  Tonight is the last one.  Next Wednesday night we go back to the regular Bible classes.

I John 5:1-4
1   Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God, and everyone who loves the father loves his child as well.
2   This is how we know that we love the children of God: by loving God and carrying out his commands.
3   This is love for God: to obey his commands. And his commands are not burdensome,
4   for everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith.  (NIV)

MARILYN, sounds like good news to me.  God bless you.

Janet

Hello!  We have had a pleasant day, weather-wise.  Darrel and I got the freezer cleaned out and defrosted.  Where do all those "mystery packages" come from, anyway? :-\ ;)

We had our monthly ladies meeting for lunch today, and our "assignment" for this month is to take our team of four ladies around town town and take "creative or fun" photos of us in unexpected places!  I am the captain of my team, as it is well known that I have a camera and like to use it!  ;D Hmmmm--this will take some thinking! ???

The worst thing just now about not having my computer is that I can't keep in contact with Beth!  No, I am not getting a Dell this time.  I have had two Dells, and this one of Darrel's is also a Dell.  They have some really good deals on them; but then, if anything goes wrong, their parts are quite costly.  The "Computer Alchemist" is building me a computer, and says he will have the very best in spyware protection and virus protection on it.  I don't need a monitor, keyboard or mouse, so that saves me a couple hundred dollars.  I hope I can find the disc for my PSP!  Found the book, but not the disc!

I think Darrel has a fish ready for us to eat; he was grilling one.  I made a salad and fried some okra.

God bless you all, and I will try to check in every day at least once, if I can.

Marilyn, that's great news!!!  I was just talking to the Lord about you last night. lol    I'm so glad, too, that you have a nice fenced yard for your boys.

I have been so tired all day.  I think I slept last night, so not sure what's going on.  I guess it's a day to rest.  I did get some brush trimmed(mostly ivy)along the front fence.  The ivy is in the neighbors yard, but it sure travels.

I guess that's all I have to say.  :)

Papa John, I think I've seen David Ring on tv.  If he's the one I'm thinking about, he is so good, really gifted in telling his story and encouraging others.   Let me know after you see him. ok?

Papa John

Nita, OK.

Great news Marilyn!  When do you move?

karmat

Party at Marilyn's new house!!!!!!

Marilyn

I won't be moving untill around the middle of next month. The place won't be ready until then. They had to stop work on my house to get another house ready for a family that needs to move right away and I don't have to be out of here until the end of next month.

I think we have to party in shifts as the place is rather small, but we can party int he back yard it is plenty big enough for us all.

When I called my Pastor to tell him I think he was more excited than I was. When I first heard about the house he and I  prayed for it and claimed it as mine. I am really happy to be getting this place. It's small but It will be just fine for me and the dogs.

It is going to cost me $1950. to move in. $650 rent first, last and a deposit. So it is actually $1300 for rent and $650 deposit on a year lease. But she said I could pay first and last and make the deposit in 3 payments if I want to do that. I am so glad that I have had all this extra time to put some $$$ in savings. I will take her option to make the installment payments so I won't have to draw it all out of my savings.

Fay already tried to rain on my parade by telling me that I will not be able to make the rent payments if something happens to her. She can be so negative. everyone else is so happy and positive for me.

Marilyn  I am happy your prayer has been answered with your new home.

I know what you are talking about with negative people.  I deal with them a lot too.  It seems people forget that "This is the day that the Lord has made, we will rejoice and be glad in it."

At any rate we will rejoice with you and your new home.

Pat take it easy don't over do it, with the moving.

Nita

Marilyn,  Faye is only speaking the truth as she sees it. :)  Older people, especially, are apt to look at the blunt truth and speak it out.
She probably doesn't understand faith and believing that the Lord will provide another source of income if "something" happens to Faye.   lol

I can't help but be shocked at the cost of rent there.  I thought we were high here, but not as much as California, I don't think.

Blessings and goodnight to everyone.
