JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Oldiesmann: So sorry for your loss Carol. Praying for you and your family :( 2022-05-01, 17:13:05

Morning Devotional...

God loveth a cheerful giver.
2 Corinthians 9:7

The Gospels refer to many who gave their possessions to the Lord.

Peter, for example, gave his boat, while a lad handed over his few loaves and fish.

An unnamed man parted with his colt, while yet another gave his "large upper room furnished."

Mary willingly yielded her "pound of ointment...very costly."

At the last, Joseph donated his newly-hewn tomb. Cheerful givers we believe they all were, nor were they the poorer for their giving.

They all belong to a very select company, for "God loveth a cheerful giver"!
--G. Hall

We lose what on ourselves we spend,
We have as treasure without end
Whatever, Lord, to Thee we lend,
Who givest all.

Oh, goodie!  I'm first!  ;D  It is almost 11:30, and Darrel is already snoring softly.  I just sat down to shut off my computer and saw we have a new day's NEM open, so thought I would post a line or two.  Now I'd better hit the sack myself!  See you in the morning!

Oooh You are clever Janet. Well done!

Thank-you Pat  :)............and Jesus gave His All for us. Praise Him!

Another wet, dark morning here in U.K. somewhat humid. Pushkin came in soaking wet today and I dried him off before I fed him but he wouldn't settle and now he's gone off into the allotments to hunt for mice and rats etc.,this is hunting weather for Pushkin cats!  Poor things they don't stand a chance! He looks like the beast of Bodmin moor.

Hello Carol.  Are you looking in?  See you later ...oh no I forgot, I still got germs!!! ;)

I hope you all enjoy fine weather this day and God's richest blessings.

Jenny.

Hi everyone.  Have been feeling tired the last couple of days and experiencing mild shortness of breath so decided to skip the walk at the gym this morning.  I wanted to have the energy to go to the computer store and buy a new laptop that I looked at last week.  So after coffee I will ask my friend Ed, who I pick up each morning for coffee, if he would like to ride along with me (he often does) and will go on to the computer store.  Should then have a busy day getting it setup the way I want it with the software I want to use.  My old laptop is still working but is over 5 years old and very out-of-date and I can't get the wireless to work very well on it.

Alma, it sounds like you have really had your hands full this weekend and do hope your friend can recover from her serious illness.  Also hope you have been able to get some needed rest.

Papa John, the Sunday School class studying aging sounds interesting.

Etta Sue, I sure agree with you on the way fish should be served.  I don't want eyes staring at me and I don't like to contend with the little bones in fish.  Wonderful news on the miracle with the baby's sight.

Jenny, with the tools on the Internet, including e-mail, distance no longer is as significant in relationships.  It is great that you have such a good friend in Carol and I am happy she is joining us here on CP so we can get to know her as well.

Ruth Ann, I know your heart was singing and you were praying prayers of gratitude at the improvement with Leslie.  Hopefully the darkest days are now behind him.

Ruth, good to see you posting.

Janet, even left over pizza is good.  We had some recently and Pat reheated it in the oven and it tasted almost as good as when it was fresh.  Sure you are counting the days until the party.  I am looking forward to your sharing some photos as we will all feel a sense of participation.

Hi to Kathy, Marilyn, Ruthie, Al, Pat and anyone else I haven't mentioned by name.  I need to leave so will sign off for now.

Ruth Ann Bice

Good morning, friends,

I had an opportunity to speak with a friend from the past yesterday. How nice to renew friendships!

Y'all have a great day.

Sarah

Etta Sue

I dreamed about the little baby and God healing his eyesight last night.  I know his family and our church family are over-joyed.

Sorry, Jenny, but it is bright and sunny here today.  I have one load of clothes on the line and another in the washer to put on the line.

Pat, did you notice the ? mark in the third verse of yesterdays song 'In Heavenly Love Abiding'?  It was in the place of an apostrophy.  We will see if it is in this post now so I used apostropies.

Jerry is here and we haven't had breakfast.  When the clothes are on the line, we are going out for breakfast and then go to an auto store to get supplies to do maintenance on my lawn mower.  I tend to run them without checking.... :-[

Janet is Beth's party this coming weekend? I pray that she will be feeling better.

Hi Jenny, hurry up and get over your  flu/cold.

Hi Larry, I hope you will be feeling better soon too.

Hello Etta Sue we are supposed to have more rain here today intensifying by this afternoon. The handle came off my unbrella yesterday well the knob at the end.

Goodmorning all and thanks Pat for another good devotional.

Jenny:  Goodmorning

It is a beautiful sunny day so far but as I understand we are to get rain late afternoon or evening.
I do have a praise report. it was a burden that I had been in prayer about but never shared with the public but at the last minute the Lord closed the door.  The Lord took care of the situation in His Time.

Howdy folks.

What a wonderful weekend my family had.  We are finishing up a project and starting a new one.  We tore the carpet out of Chandrayas room last night.  We are painting it and putting down wood tile.  Chandraya thinks I am the best. hehehehe....  her room will be dark purple on the bottom and a pretty pink on the top with a border inbetween the two.  We got some bunkbeds to put in there in case she has a friend over at night.

I am still working on the churches website, which is coming along smoothly and looking pretty good.

QuoteMy, my Soni you certainly are a busy, busy person Have you started you homeschooling yet?

No, Marilyn, I havent' started schooling the boys yet.  I did get Chandraya all ready for kindergarten though.  :'(  The first day is Sept. 1 for her.  I will take a ton of pictures!
Thanks for asking! (hug)

I pm'ed everyone else.  Hope you all have a good day today.  I have a million and a half things to do, so not sure how many times I will be on here today.

Love you all

Evangelism: The Right Road to the Desired Destination

O Lord, I know the way of man is not in himself; it is not in man who
walks to direct his own steps.
--Jeremiah 10:23

The prophet here turns to a figure of speech, one which appears in
the Scriptures so frequently that it is not easy to remember that it
is but a figure. Man is seen as a traveler making his difficult way
from a past he can but imperfectly recollect into a future about
which he knows nothing. And he cannot stay, but must each morning
strike his moving tent and journey on toward--and there is the heavy
problem--toward what?

It is a simple axiom of the traveler that if he would arrive at the
desired destination he must take the right road. How far a man may
have traveled is not important; what matters is whether or not he
is going the right way, whether the path he is following will bring
him out at the right place at last. Sometimes there will be an end
to the road, and maybe sooner than he knows; but when he has gone
the last step of the way will he find himself in a tomorrow of light
and peace, or will the day toward which he journeys be "a day of
trouble and distress, a day of wasteness and desolation, a day of
darkness and gloominess, a day of clouds and thick darkness"?
The Set of the Sail, pp. 105-106

"I look around me, Lord, and everywhere I see aimless wanderers on
a course toward eternal destruction. Help me to be more faithful,
even today, to point them toward the right destination. Amen."

Hello, just popping in to say "HI" to everyone.

Ursula

Skief

Well Sonya, our girl Noel starts her kindergarten home school on the 1st too, so we'll have lots in common.  She is all excited about getting to do school.  I just wonder how long that will last :-)

We had a beautiful day today, and now the sun is set, got a nice dark blue sky outside, and I'm relaxing at home, will be going to bed shortly.

Blessings.
A watched clock never boils.

Janet

Where, oh where does the time go?  Here it is 1:30 already and I have only ONE thing marked off my lenghty to-do list for today!  But it is a biggie----I finished up Beth's photo album!  That was a huge job that took many hours, and I'm so relieved to have it done...........well, not done, but up to date.  :D

Al, thank you for praying that Beth will be feeling well on Saturday evening for the party.  That is my prayer as well.  She seems to be in not as much pain today, so that is good.  She enjoyed the pizza!  ;)  Darrel and I went to town and purchased a transfer shower chair for her today, that will help her to be safer when taking her showers.

I think I am pretty well set up for the party, there are a few more things to get, and I'm nervous about the food, but if we run out, we run out!  It's about Beth, not about food.  Curtis is coming home for Beth's party!!!  ;D ;D ;D  I am thrilled about that!  He sent me an email last night to tell me.

Soni, Chandraya's room sounds like a little girl's dream, for sure!  I remodeled the room for Abby just before she arrived, when we didn't know she was a she, and it is in need of updating............not this week, though! :o

Pat, thank you so much for continuing to pray for Beth.  There are days when I find it hard to stem the tears, but I know God loves her even more than I do, and I must leave her in His loving hands.  (((((hugs)))))

Mieka!  Did you see the picture of the dinner Mike posted in NEM yesterday?  I want to hear Chef Choy's opinion of that!!  (((((hugs)))))

Hi, Etta Sue!  Darrel mowed this whole place a couple days ago, and it sure looks better.  He is having trouble with his riding mower, too.  He says he needs to get about $100 worth of parts and give it an overhaul.

Thanks, Larry...........I do plan to take a lot of pictures at the party, and will share them with all of you.

I have to get back to my list now!  See you all later!

Thanks..meaningful tonight for me and Carol. I will get her to pop in and have a "look-see".

Marilyn

Not many posts here yet today. I am home from work now and it is still raining Praise the Lord.

Hey Al are those Blackberries still good out behind your place? I need to get them picked so I can make the sugarless jam for you and for Gloria. I guess will also need a few more jars. I'll talk to you about that later.

Hi Jennifer: how are you doing today?

Soni you never did get around to sending me that photo I asked you for a over a month ago of that blanket you made by tying two together. Maybe you will get around to that after you some of your projects finished. Huh?

I feel like I have run out of steam.  Just really weary all at once, so I will get to bed earlier and hope a good night's rest will get me back to normal tomorrow.

But before then, I do still have some things I want to get done.  See y'all later!

Everyone must be as busy as me.  :)

Oh ya! Marilyn, I am so sorry.  I totally spaced that out.  I will get that to you in a couple of days or even tomorrow.

I better get.  Chandraya wants to go for icecream.

Later all.

Will Jesus Find Us Watching?
(Click to hear music)

Words:   Frances J. Crosby   1876
Music:   William H. Doane

When Jesus comes to reward His servants,
Whether it be noon or night,
Faithful to Him will He find us watching,
With our lamps all trimmed and bright?

O can we say we are ready, brother?
Ready for the soul?s bright home?
Say, will He find you and me still watching,
Waiting, waiting when the Lord shall come?

If, at the dawn of the early morning,
He shall call us one by one,
When to the Lord we restore our talents,
Will He answer thee??Well done??

O can we say we are ready, brother?
Ready for the soul?s bright home?
Say, will He find you and me still watching,
Waiting, waiting when the Lord shall come?

Have we been true to the trust He left us?
Do we seek to do our best?
If in our hearts there is naught condemns us,
We shall have a glorious rest.

O can we say we are ready, brother?
Ready for the soul?s bright home?
Say, will He find you and me still watching,
Waiting, waiting when the Lord shall come?

Bless褠are those whom the Lord finds watching,
In His glory they shall share;
If He shall come at the dawn or midnight,
Will He find us watching there?

O can we say we are ready, brother?
Ready for the soul?s bright home?
Say, will He find you and me still watching,
Waiting, waiting when the Lord shall come?

#21
This day has been full.  This morning we went to the doctor for regular check up and blood work.  This afternoon my sister and brother-in-law came by for a visit.  I have been working on birthday greetings for September.  I just finished up most of them.  I did 34 of them today.

It is good to see each one of you.

Sonja, thanks for Will Jesus find us Watching?  I like that song.  Sounds to me like you are keeping yourself busy.

Janet I hope you get a good rest tonight.  I forget just when the party is.

Marilyn, it has rained all around us here today and then finally we did get a real good shower about an hour ago.  At the Dollar Tree here you can get neat little folding umbrellas for a dollar.  If they break or if they are lost it isn’t much lost.

Jenny, I had never heard of the beast of Bodmin moor but I looked it up on the internet.  Here it is for those interested:    http://www.occultopedia.com/e/exmoor.htm

Larry, I hope you do well on your purchase of a new laptop.  I think it pays to research a little to make sure you get the bells and whistles you need and want.  Let us know what you get.

Ruth Ann, Saturday at 5:00 is good with us.  I’ll send you another email.

Sarah, good luck to you as you start this new school year.  Your last year of High School?

Etta Sue, I hope you had a good breakfast this morning with Jerry.  Tell him I said “Hello.”

Ruth, though it isn’t in the Bible it is true that “More things are wrought by prayer than this world dreams of.”  Alfred Tennyson said this in “Idylls of the King”
Pray for my soul. More things are wrought by prayer 55
Than this world dreams of.
Wherefore, let thy voice
Rise like a fountain for me night and day.
For what are men better than sheep or goats
That nourish a blind life within the brain,
If, knowing God, they lift not hands of prayer 60
Both for themselves and those who call them friend?
Ursula, good to see you drop in today.  Hope you are doing well.

Skief,  back in the days when I was going to school the excitement of starting school lasted  from three days to one week.

It is getting late but will make a quick posting.  I did purchase a new Toshiba Laptop this morning.  I have spent the day getting the software loaded on it that I want and getting the internet connection set.  Initially I couldn't get on the internet but finally realized there was an on and off switch that I had to use and then it automatically connected.  Always a little trial and error.  I think I am really going to like it and have had no problem getting the wireless network to work here in the family room whereas with my old laptop I couldn't hold a signal.  I am going to take the receipt back next week as CompUSA is having a special offer on the purchase of a laptop where they will provide a free wireless router and one network card and these are the "g" rather than the "b" type.  I appreciated them telling me about this as I likely wouldn't have seen the ad.

I seem to be feeling better this evening and am not as short of breath and the hacking cough is not bothering me.  Hope that little episode is over as am concerned about developing a little heart failure.

This evening I went to the church for a Worship Committee meeting.  We were making the final plans for our revival and talking about preparing the budget for next year.  This will be a busy week at church as willl be there everyday or evening except for Thursday.

Guess I had better sign off for tonight.

Janet

I'm just popping in to say goodnight.

I wanted to let you know that cards arrived in today's mail for Beth from:  Pat, Larry and Ruth!  Thank you all so much!

Papa John, the party is Saturday evening at 6:30.  I pray it will be a great time for Beth, and let her know that many people care for her.  Someone mentioned the attention, and that will be a big factor.  When she was in the hospital following the terrible car accident a few years back, she said she didn't like the pain and all, but she did like the attention.  She has been ignored a lot in her life.  I just want the party to be such a blessing for her.

Well, now I will say good night!
