Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Morning Devotional...

But I say unto you, that every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.
Matthew 12:36

Words.

It is easy to spit them out, but most difficult, if not impossible to reverse their effect.

Idle words are the words we carelessly speak. They include those words we use when we are not really paying attention to what we say--words spoken in anger, or in jest.

We are accountable for each one.

Little wonder the Spirit inspired James to write, "If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man" (Jas. 3:2). The Lord Jesus caused others to marvel when He spoke (Lk. 4:22).

Oh, to be more like Him!
--Garry W. Seale

A little word in kindness spoken,
a motion or a tear,
Has often healed the heart that's broken
and made a friend sincere.

Goodness! I'm here EARLY - ummmmm - maybe a little late!  ;)

QuoteRuth Ann - How old is Leslie's little girl that you were talking about? She sure sounds like a darling.

Hi, Judy, this is our little miracle baby that was born one year ago yesterday to Mark and Pam. She's the one named Georgia Faith, because her big sister Kassie prayed for 4 years for a "baby brother". The Faith in her name is there as a testament to God's love and to a young child's simple faith (as well as many prayers on her parents' part, too).

By the way, Kassie made her own birthday cards for the baby's birthday and, while she didn't have money to give her a toy she picked out herself, she did not want her name on the gift from her mom and dad. So, she very carefully wrapped (in beautiful birthday printed paper) some nearly-new secondhand clothing from herself so that Georgia could have "sleep shirts when she's grows up a little".

I watched a couple of folk wipe tears at her pure and simple earnestness and the pride with which she presented her little gifts with their handmade cards declaring Georgia to be the best baby sister in the world.

Now, not that she was RESTRICTED from shopping - Pam or Mark would have gladly paid for the presents she would pick out. But, she wanted to give Georgia something of herself and she told me later than she wanted Georgia to sleep in her "verrrrry best" sleep shirts. She said anybody can "buy" a gift, but I wanted to "GIVE" her a gift that I love.

Somehow, I think maybe there's a lesson for me in what my 9-year old granddaughter said.

Of course, I also purchased a much less costly gift or two for her (including a set of pickup stix). To my surprise, Kassie not only has played pickup stix - she was good at it. So we spent a great hour playing several games while Leslie was being the loving uncle to get his little niece to take her afternoon nap and Mark and Pam went to a funeral home to pay their respects to a family.

All in all - a very good afternoon.

It's Thanksgiving time.

Yesterday Social Security approved my son's disability petition. While this does not ease the painful disabling headaches, at least it will be a great help to him (and to me).

How grateful I am.

Good Morning to all you Beautiful CP ers,
Pat,  You are so right about the value of our words.. and  it is so nice to read your words every morning.. I know that what I read here I can take in to my everyday life and use it..Just like my bible..Thank you for I know you have put your life into what you share with all of us..
Ruth Ann, I am so pleased for you son, I know that it is so hard to get on it, as my daughters dad Terry is on SSD, he had a stroke and was left paralized on the right side and it was a struggle to get him on it..Even though he was paralized, he has been on it now almost 20 years.. I t also paid my daughter every month for her expenses until she was 18.
:) It was a WONDERFUL visit with Marlene and now she has gone home.. We tried to do many things while she was here and I am wore out.. I made my back sore last week  and haven't been been moving to quick..
:)  A Happy Birthday to you AL !! :) And many more returns..
Happy Birthday to you Ken, Have a happy day..
Welcome Tulip, It is so nice to meet you..

I am trying to rush through my websites that I like to frequent every day so that Jerry and I can go to his home.  I got an email from my niece saying that K Don, Barb and Ivalou wouldn't be home until tomorrow.  Jerry needs to pay bills....today is the 3rd....SS day!

I am praying that everyone has a God blessed day and a day of safety in your travels.

This is a red letter day for me as I installed my frames project on the screened in porch this morning, finished the touch up painting where needed and declared the project done. They even look halfway decent considering I have no carpentry skills and really didn't know what I was doing.

Now have only one more little piece to complete for the porch and hope to do that this afternoon.  I need to get a guard for the screen door so will stop at the hardware store after Calvin Cove later this afternoon and get it installed.  Then we will not worry about our cat staying on the porch during the night as don't think anything can get through to him and neither can he get out.

Tulip, welcome to CP.  It is nice having you here.

Pat, that devotional makes me shudder in terms of the scripture verse on our words.  I have always tried to be careful and thoughtful in what I say but know there are many times I haven't been.

Ruth Ann, your account involving Kassie is so touching.  What a sweet little girl and it sounds like she definitely has a mind of her own.
I am so happy to hear that Leslie got the disability approved.  Hopefully that will help reduce the stress he has undoubtedly felt in not being able to work.

Alma, it sounds like you had a very nice visit with your friend.  It is always great to have company and then it is also nice when they leave and our lives return to their normal pace.

Etta Sue, those are certainly cute little graphics you have been using.  I feel for Jerry in his bill paying activities as just went through that a couple of days ago.  I get my retirement pay on the 1st of the month and since moving my banking to the credit union they have actually made the money available on the weekend whereas the other bank did not when the 1st fell on a weekend day.

Liz, glad to read you are having cooler weather.  Think you must have sent the heat wave down to Georgia as it is suppose to get to 92 today and 95 tomorrow.  They said this morning that the heat had something to do with the hurricane off the Carolina coast.  Congratulations on your photo win.

Judy and Etta Sue, I don't know if I could get used to not using the hymn books.  We do have a contemporary service where they use an overhead projector for the words.  However, I am more a traditionalist.  We have a revival coming up at the end of this month and we will be having some blended services.

Marilyn, was glad to read that your hand was better yesterday.  Your soup sounds good.

Jeanne Lee, only working an hour was hardly worth the cost of the gas but expect you enjoyed having the time off.

Am thinking of Beth and Janet today as they see the doctor.  Know they will be glad to get back home.

A special hi to those of you stopping by later today.  It is about time to leave for Calvin Cove.  Sure hope I can sing for 30 minutes today as still have a bit of a sore throat and a cough, but am going to go anyway.  Am not contagious and don't want to disappoint the folks as they seem to enjoy the singing.  One of the songs we will sing today is "How Much Is That Doggie In The Window".  They really seem to enjoy singing that one of the ladies usually adds the bark of the dog in appropriate places.  :D

Sarah, what a wonderful testimony. I really enjoyed reading your experiences and am thankful to see that your faith is strong and you're turning out to be a real leader.

Thank you for the important devotional, Pat.  I need to be reminded how important our words are and the need to be diligent..

Pastor Al, we are having showers this afternoon.  Thank you for the prayers.  Alma, I will pray that rain will also fall in your area.  It is so cool and refreshing outside at the moment and everything is going to benefit from the change in weather.

I went shopping in town with Wendy this morning.  It was Sr. days at Safeway and they need the air miles.  We have a brand new, large, Safeway and it is such a treat.  Their prices are now more competitive and I can afford a few of my favorite brands.  Used to always shop there when living in Alberta.  Safeway and good old Woodwards.....Did they have Woodwards in the East??

Read this the other day:

    TEA

T stands not for the task but the thought behind the task.
E is not so much the event, but the experience behing the event.
It may be a disastrous event, but the experience can turn your
life around.
A is not the action, it's the attitude behind the action.
Basically that's how we move forward in life.

Guess that is worthy of consideration.  I like this next one better:

Love is never hopeless.
Love is full of hope.
It's Hate that is hopeless.

Sure do agree and wish the world would give it a try!

Sarah, I read your testimony and it is terrific.  Have put it in favorites.  Hope at some point to get my granddaughter to visit the site.  Thanks, your a great gal!

Pleasant evening all and God Bless.

Didn't get home from work today until 4:45, had an appointment to get my nails done. I should have stopped at the Pharmacy to pick up my meds but my nails were wet and I wanted to get home.

My soup yesterday sure turned out tasty. I am having it again tonight for supper.

I took Gloria to the doctor today and he told her that her foot is getting better the wound is getting smaller. She will be glad when she can drive again and I will be too. I will be nice when she can help me witnh some of the domestic chores.

Sarah I read your testimony, Thank you for posting the link. Let us know if you add to it.

I've just finished watching the Larry King Show on CNN and Joni Eareckson Tada.  What a wonderful interview.  She spoke of glory and how she would not need her wheel chair there.  What a refreshing interview and the gospel was certainly proclaimed.  If you can watch it later on in your part of the country, it's not to be missed.

Here's her website...  It's worth looking at.  Joni and Friends

Since Joni spoke so much of her longing to go to glory, this hymn seems to fit in tonight...

Just over in the glory land
(Click to hear music)

I've a home prepared where the saints abide
Just over in the glory land
And I long to be by my Saviour's side
Just over in the glory land

Just over in the glory land
I'll join the happy angel band
Just over in the glory land
Just over in the glory land
There with the mighty host I'll stand
Just over in the glory land

I am on my way to those mansions fair
Just over in the glory land
There to sing God's praises and his glory share
Just over in the glory land

Refrain

What a joyful thought that my Lord I'll see
Just over in the glory land
And with kindred saved, there forever be
Just over in the glory land

Refrain

With the blood washed throng I will shout and sing
Just over in the glory land
Glad hosannas to Christ, the Lord and King
Just over in the glory land

Refrain

Rachel, what a lovely sunflower.  You're doing well there with your text, etc.  I think that sunflowers are one of my favorite flowers.
