Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Morning Devotional...

Let your loins be girded about, and your lights burning; and ye yourselves like unto men that wait for their lord.
Luke 12:35-36

This verse takes us back to the night of the Passover when they had to eat with loins girt, shoes on their feet, and staff in hand.

They had to be ready to move out at a moment's notice. What a challenge to all of our hearts.

Sometimes one feels that we have become just a bit too comfortable in this world, and the return of the Lord does not have the same life-changing grip on our hearts as it once had.

As the world scene heads for the Day of Vengeance of our God, may we be ready to move out when He comes.
--W. H. Burnett

Will you be ready when the Bridegroom comes?
Will your lamps be trimmed and bright?
Be it morning, noon or night.
Will you be ready when the Bridegroom comes?

Thank you Pat for today's true reminder of being ready. Truly indeed we should be looking  preparedly. We (my wife and I ) have just finished our morning prayer time and would like to wish all who look in a joyous day.
I t is also good to be reminded of those who are in Iraq , through no choice of their own. May the Lord be their protector.
                                                          Blessings,
                                                           John (A Baker)

Ria, you are a blessing to us.  I pray that you continue to find peace and joy with Christ despite your difficulties and if God willing you find respite.  Thank you for your constant encouragement to us even when times are tough.  I have a verse for you "I will strengthen you, yes I will help you."  Isaiah 41:10de  and second to that "they that overcometh shall inherit all things." Revelation 21:7a

Bless you

Janet

Pat, thank you so much for telling me last night that Joni was on Larry King.  She was such an encouragement to me after the day we had with Beth's doctor. (I have posted the report in Prayers).  God always knows just how to strengthen and encourage us.  I also was so proud of Joni for the wonderful way she handled Larry's questions, uplifting and giving glory to our wonderful Lord!  She is a jewel.

I must leave soon.  I am judging at the fair in Garden City today, and while I don't really feel up to it, it will be good for me.  I will do fine once I am there, and it will keep my mind off Beth's problems for a few hours.  Decisions are going to have to be made SOON and none of them are easy.

Ria, my heart is with you and your father.  I truly do understand, having had to go through the same things with my Mom just about a year ago.  She is doing well and is happy there in the care home, and I hope your father will be, too.  None of us want to have to face these decisions, but if we live long enough, all of us (or nearly all) will.  God bless you, sweetie.  I love you.

Just a quick good morning and God bless you to the rest of you!

I'm so sorry I missed Joni - she's truly an ambassador for our Lord. However, I was in the process (with hammer and saw) of rebuilding our prayer list. Those of you who use the list feel free to comment on the different format.

Also, I request that you let me know privately about your older requests - are there updates? Are there answers to prayer that we need to see?

Janet, your news is distressing and I'm really praying for y'all.

At any rate, I'm already due at work, so must dash away.

Sarah, I read your testimony.  It is so hard for teens to stay focused on God.  But remember God wants you to have fun...enjoy life...have friends...do silly stuff...kick back and scream and yell.  He was a teenager once...he knows what it is like.  WWJD!!

Rachel, text is fun on pictures.  Looks like you were practicing a lot.  I liked the different colors.  Does your website allow linking to CP?  That would be great to just scroll and see your pictures.

Janet, my heart hurts for you and your family.

Ria, you have a lot put on your plate right now.  He won't give you more than you can bear...remember that!  We love you, girl!

Someone told me that Joni would be on Larry King live a few weeks back.  I didn't realize she would be on there last night and I missed it.  My Ultimate TV wouldn't pick the name 'Joni' up because Larry King's show do not show names in the information area.

Whew!  Trash day.  The alarm woke me at 7 a.m.  It was dark.  I looked out the bathroom window and there was a distinct line...black above, light below.  If I hurry, I can get my trash to KDon's drive before it rains.  Nope...couldn't do it.  I got the trash all together and a letter to mail for Jerry to put in the mailbox.  Not enough hands.  Can't carry two bags of trash, a letter and the umbrella.  So took one bag with umbrella to the garage and put it in the trunk of the car.  Drove the car to the deck.  Got out the umbrella and came in the house for the other bag and letter.  Drove to KDon's.  Got the umbrella out again.  Got trash out of trunk and got his morning newspaper after I found it...they throw it anywhere!  (They will be home today, I think)  Then got back in the car and drove to my mailbox and mailed Jerry's letter.  Then into my garage.  I got the umbrella and walked to the house.  Regardless, I still got a shower....with my clothes on.  Ten minutes after I was in the house...the rain stopped!!!

I always open my umbrella to let it dry.  Looks like Ali found a new home.[/b]

I am late getting here this morning I had trouble with my printer, had to change the ink cartridges then it wouldn't print.

I have been to read Janets report on Beth an am so saddened  :'(  by the report. My prayers are with you  both Janet.

Ria, thank you for the update on your father. I will be praying for you too. I know your father will be OK in the Care Home he may not like it at first but it will grow on him quickly. My mom was living in a retirement center, with her own little apartment and eating in the main dining room. Sometimes the older folks prefer to live on their own in their own place  so as not to feel like a burden to their family.

Talk to all y-all later must get going now.

Good morning from the rainy Oregon Coast.  I have not been posting for a few days because I have been involved in other things.  Also feeling a bit overwhelmed with concern for family members.   :-\  BUT then I come here and read of all that each of you, my friends, has to cope with and I feel ashamed that I could even consider mine at all.   :-[

RIA, I admire you so much for coming here in spite of what you are dealing with ... and I really love this poem you gave us this morning:
PEACE MY SOUL
Peace, my soul, for God is near...
In the midst of doubt or fear,
I can look beyond and see
His guiding hand reach out to me.

This is so good to hold onto today -- for all of us.  Thank you!

Hi everyone.  It is almost noon and really haven't accomplished much this morning.  It is suppose to get to 95 degrees here today so plan on staying in where it is cool.  Pat went to the church for Bible Study and then was going to fix the children's packets for services on Sunday.

Ria, sorry to read you have a new eye infection as you are certainly having a hard time with your eyes.  It sounds like you are getting things lined up for your father so he will have the neessary care when he gets out of the hospital.  So sorrry to read that your brother and his wife don't want to do their part in looking after your father.  My sister and I worked closely together as a team regarding all of the decisions we had to make in the last years of our folks life, including nursing home decisions.  We never had a moments disagreement and that certainly helped as both wanted only what was best for them.  Of course, it helped that our dad was of sound mind and made the initial decision regarding our mother needing to go to the nursing home.  I do hope your father will adjust to the retirement home.

Janet, Beth's plate (and yours) is certainly full and you have some difficult decisions ahead.  I just hope that Beth will also consider the impact of her decisions on you and Darrel.

Good morning, folks!

Hope you all have a wonderful day. We have a big day planned here.  Lot's of things to do.

Good morning all...I am posting now, as must go into town for a haircut.  Thanks for the devotional Pat. Also to Ria for the lovely poem.

Ria, I am so sorry that you are experiencing all of these troubles.  I agree with Gareth, you are a true blessing to all of us here on CP.  Just know that many of us are praying for you.

Janet, I wish there could be an easy answer for all the things that Beth is going through.  How difficult it must be for you...We want to help our children and sometimes answers don't come.  I am also praying special prayers for Beth.  In Daily Bread this morning it said:
In prayer, God hears more than words;
He listens to your heart.
Many mother's hearts are concerned and praying for both you and Beth.

Cloudy day today and they keep promising rain....only get light sprinkles.  Certainly better than that relentless sun.  Could have used some water in the house this morning.  No water pressure.  I have not spoken to Wendy about it yet....don't know what the reason is!! :-\

Amanda posted some pictures under Photography.  They are about the Alberta trip and show the progress of her baby rabbits.  They are starting to look better now!  If anyone is interested, she designed a nice website and updated recently.  Will tell all about her Rabbitry:

http://www.geocities.com/bucktailrabbitry/home.html
or simply Bucktail Rabbitry on Google.  I am not certain about how to  activate links.  Guess that is next on the leaning agenda.  Had a look at Paint Shop Pro 8 last night and it has opened up a whole new world of possibilities.....

Etta Sue, I love your picture.  Ali is prepared for everything.  Smart cat.

Pleasant day all and God Bless.

Hey, guys!  We haven't forgotten you... modem is broke again. :(  I think lightning got this one.  That makes three.  I'm posting from work.

We're getting a dog tonight.  It's technically Travis' dog, but his daddy really like the idea.  I like to train dogs, and I'm determined to do a good job on this one.  Yeah, right.

Karma is doing well, just really tired a lot of the time.

Pray for us, for a lot of reasons.  Life can be tough sometimes, but I've got a great wife to help me with it :)

Better run for now.  I've got a migraine coming on, I think.

 ;DI thought this might bring a giggle or two;

A drunk stumbles across a baptismal service on Sunday afternoon down by the river.

He proceeds to walk down into the water and stand next to the Preacher. The minister turns and notices the old drunk and says, "Mister, Are you ready to find Jesus?"

The drunk looks back and says, "Yess, Preacher..I sure am."

The minister then dunks the fellow under the water and pulls him right back up. "Have you found Jesus?" the preacher asked.

"Nooo, I haven't!" said the drunk.

The preacher then dunks him under for quite a bit longer, brings him up and says, "Now, brother, have you found Jesus?"

"Noooo, I have not Reverend."

The preacher in disgust holds the man under for at least 30 seconds this time, brings him out of the water and says in a harsh tone, "My God, man, have you found Jesus yet?"

The old drunk wipes his eyes and says to the preacher...

"Are you sure this is where he fell in?"

Evangelism: She Had to Tell Someone

Come, see a Man who told me all things that I ever did. Could this be
the Christ?
--John 4:30

Spiritual experiences must be shared. It is not possible for very long
to enjoy them alone. The very attempt to do so will destroy them.

The reason for this is obvious. The nearer our souls draw to God the
larger our love will grow, and the greater our love the more unselfish
we shall become and the greater our care for the souls of others.
Hence increased spiritual experience, so far as it is genuine, brings
with it a strong desire that others may know the same grace that we
ourselves enjoy. This leads quite naturally to an increased effort to
lead others to a closer and more satisfying fellowship with God....

The impulse to share, to impart, normally accompanies any true
encounter with God and spiritual things. The woman at the well, after
her soul-inspiring meeting with Jesus, left her waterpots, hurried
into the city and tried to persuade her friends to come out and meet
Him. "Come, see a man," she said, "which told me all things that ever
I did: is not this the Christ?" Her spiritual excitement could not be
contained within her own heart. She had to tell someone. The Set of
the Sail, 50-51.

"Lord, we have so much more! We've seen Your goodness. We've tasted
Your blessing. We've come to love you. Yet how seldom are we that
impelled to tell anyone. Direct me even today to someone with whom I
can share the glorious news of the Gospel. Amen"

Hello everyone.  Sorry I haven't posted for a while.  Things are better today at home, but my mother was sick the past few days.

Janet I was so sorry to hear of Beth's diagnosis.  I can only imagine what you are all going through at the moment.  To talk of God's comfort in times like this can sound so shallow, but how true it is.  We have a mighty Saviour who will bring you the answers to your problems in the way and at the time that  He knows best.  God bless you all dear Janet.

It was good to hear from Nards too and I trust that you and Karma are pressing on in the Chrisitan way despite any problems that you might have to face.

Sorry to miss so many people  out.  If Papa John is looking in, the Lord bless you brother.  And everybody else, have a great day.

Anthony.

Nards, thanks for checking in!  You and Karma had us all worried.  I hope the stress lsts up on you and that the headache didn't go ahead and develop.

I had a good day judging at the fair.  You can't stay down while talking to kids!  They are always so excited to tell you about their projects, and happy when they win prizes.

Thanks to all of you for your kind words of concern for Beth, me and Darrel.  I don't know the answers, but I do know the One Who has the answers.  And He has never, ever let me down, and I know He won't this time, either.  I will let you know when some decisions have been made.

I'm really tired, and Abby is coming again tonight for a few days, because her Mom is gone to market.  So I think I will go rest for a bit before her Daddy brings her.

For Janet...

I Know Who Holds Tomorrow
(Click to hear music

Words and Music: Ira Stanphill

I don't know about tomorrow,
I just live from day to day.
I don't borrow from it's sunshine,
For it's skies may turn to gray.

I don't worry o'er the future,
For I know what Jesus said,
And today I'll walk beside Him,
For He knows what is ahead.

Many things about tomorrow,
I don't seem to understand;
But I know Who holds tomorrow,
And I know Who holds my hand.

Ev'ry step is getting brighter,
As the golden stairs I climb;
Ev'ry burden's getting lighter;
Ev'ry cloud is silver lined.

There the sun is always shining,
There no tear will dim the eyes,
At the ending of the rainbow,
Where the mountains touch the sky.

Many things about tomorrow,
I don't seem to understand;
But I know Who holds tomorrow,
And I know Who holds my hand.

I don't know about tomorrow,
It may bring me poverty;
But the One Who feeds the sparrow,
Is the One Who stands by me.

And the path that be my portion,
May be through the flame or flood,
But His presence goes before me,
And I'm covered with His blood.

Many things about tomorrow,
I don't seem to understand;
But I know Who holds tomorrow,
And I know Who holds my hand.

Pat - what an appropriate hymn you have chosen for Janet.  Those words are so meaningful.

Nards:  I'm so excited for you.... now won't you guys have your hands full...new baby and now a new puppy.  Yell us all the details....what breed, pup's name etc.  Bet Travis is excited too.

Janet - My heart is heavy for you.  I'm praying that Beth's decisions will be similar to what you and Darrel want for her.

Thanks, Pat.  I love that song and also "I Know Whom I have Believed".

Life's Echo

A son and his father were walking on the mountains.
Suddenly, the son falls, hurts himself and screams:
"AAAhhhhhhhhhhh!!!" To his surprise, he hears the voice
repeating, somewhere in the mountain: "AAAhhhhhhhhhhh!!!"

Curious, he yells: "Who are you?"

He receives the answer: "Who are you?"

Angered at the response, he screams: "Coward!"

He receives the answer: "Coward!"

He looks to his father and asks: "What's going on?"

The father smiles and says: "My son, pay attention."
Then he screams to the mountain: "I admire you!"

The voice answers: "I admire you!"

Again the man screams: "You are a champion!"

The voice answers: "You are a champion!"

The boy is surprised, but does not understand. Then
the father explains: "People call this Echo, but really
this is Life. It gives you back everything you say or do."

Our life is simply a reflection of our actions. If you
want more love in the world, create more love in your
heart.

If you want more competence in your team, improve your
competence.

This relationship applies to everything, in all aspects
of life. Life will give you back everything you have given
to it.

Dear Ria, I know how you feel.   I looked after my dear father and it was very hard.   He didn't want anyone else to make his food, just me.  And when the food was made, he didn't want it because he had no appetite.  I was very distressed because I knew he was in a lot of pain and it bothered me.  I praise God that he knew the Lord and is now in heaven.

I'm sure your father knows that you are doing your best and is grateful to have a daughter like you.

Ria, please do not get depressed.  Keep trusting the Lord and He will sustain you.  Know that lots of people are praying for you and love and care about you.   God bless.

Hi Janet...my you are a busy person.   I get exhausted just reading about all you do.   Have a good day tomorrow.

I am sorry I missed Joni on Larry King last night.   I was really sick and just lay down with the lights and TV off.   The chiropractor said to be careful eating chicken or fruits and vegetables.  Make sure they are washed good.  I don't know what happened to me.  I went to work though today.

Tonight I have a girl from Brazil sleeping on my couch.  She had come over and was a Nanny in a home until the women in the house just told her to leave.  I couldn't leave her on the street so here she is with my 4 other students.

God Bless
