Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Morning Devotional...

There is a lad here, which hath five barley loaves, and two small fishes: but what are they among so many?
John 6:9

Young person, God wants you!

Some may despise your youth. Others may think you don't have much to offer, but the Lord needs you just as He wanted that young lad and his picnic lunch, with which He fed a multitude.

Commit your life unreservedly into His hands.

Then, whatever the cost may be, follow His plan for your life.

With the Lord in control, who can tell how many people your life could touch for the Saviour?
--David Croudace

There's surely somewhere a lowly place
In earth's harvest field so wide,
Where I may labor through life's short day
For Jesus the crucified.

Good Morning Pat.

I just wanted to pop in and say thank-you for the beautiful hymn....."I Know Who Holds tomorrow"...It is meaningful for me too...especially today.

May the Lord bless you dear Pat and all C.P'ers.

Until we meet again. In His timing.

Love Jenny.

Ruth Ann Bice

Good morning, to both Pat and Jenny, and to all who come later.

We had fierce crashing thunderstorms and heavy rain last night. So, I'm thankful that the weather seems to be "behaving itself" today.

I certainly was thankful to hear from Nards and Karma. I hope Karma's pregnancy is a good one, that she begins to feel good shortly, and that they'll be able to get online soon.

Also, like Nards, I'm wondering about Papa John. If there's time today, I'll try to see if I can reach their home.

Y'all have a good day.

Hello!  Just dropping by.  Hope you all have a great day!

Praise God the new dog did NOT bark all night!

By the way, someone was curious as to the dog...  He's a six month old "white" Labrador Retriever, supposedly (no papers) purebred.  A white Lab is actually an AKC yellow Lab, from what we can find out.  There are only three colors of Labs - yellow, chocolate, and black - but apparently there has been an effort to selectively breed a light colored yellow and call it a "white."  Not 100% sure, but he's a very smart dog, I think, and he and Travis have so far gotten along well.  His original owner had to relocate and couldn't have dogs in her new home; our neighbor wound up with 2 of the 4 sibling pups and we took one of them.  His name is Boomer.  I think Karma wants to call him Boomerang, but I'm pushing for Boomer, and Travis seems to have decided that's okay, even though he initially wanted to call hiim "Christy."  We're confused about the obsession with that name, because that's also "little sister's" name.

Anyway, I'm planning to try my doggonedest, no pun intended, to do a really good job of obedience training with Boomer.  Then, beyond the basic Sit, Stay, Come, Down, Heel, and Place commands, he will need to learn to retrieve.  Duck hunting is a great sport, and I hope to do more of it in the future.  I would like to introduce Travis to it this fall, but Boomer probably won't be ready until next year, so Travis may have to wait as well.  Neither of them has been gun trained yet :)

Anyway, that's the dog!  :)
I survived open heart surgery.... :)

Good Morning to you all. How nice to see you have been here Jenny. Pat thank you for the devotional.

The last two nights I have not slept very well. Bt I was up today for prayer meeting, I didn't go yesterday. Hopefully tonight will be much better.

Since I hve been going to these early morning meetings with God, new things are beginning to happen in my life, I feel so much closer to the Lord and this is what I am praying for.  A closer Walk with the Lord. Pat how about "A Closer walk with Thee" nto sing today? The group prayer at the end of the hour is so full of the spirit, we can feel the presence of God there with us.

Well I am going now to prayers to post a prasyer request for fay like I said I would last night and didn't do.

For Marilyn...

JUST A CLOSER WALK WITH THEE
(Click to hear music)

We also are weak in Him, yet by
God's power we shall live with Him.
2 Corinthians 13:4

I am weak, but Thou art strong;
Jesus, keep me from all wrong;
I'll be satisfied as long
As I walk, let me walk close to Thee.

Chorus:
Just a closer walk with Thee,
Grant it, Jesus, is my plea,
Daily walking close to Thee,
Let it be, dear Lord, let it be.

Through this world of toil and snares,
If I falter, Lord, who cares?
Who with me my burden shares?
None but Thee, dear Lord, none but Thee.

Chorus:
Just a closer walk with Thee,
Grant it, Jesus, is my plea,
Daily walking close to Thee,
Let it be, dear Lord, let it be.

When my feeble life is o'er,
Time for me will be no more;
Guide me gently, safely o'er
To Thy kingdom shore, to Thy shore.

Chorus:
Just a closer walk with Thee,
Grant it, Jesus, is my plea,
Daily walking close to Thee,
Let it be, dear Lord, let it be.

Marilyn ~ Thank you for the clickable to view your sewing machine.  What a smart looking machine that is.  BUT it was a reminder that my last WalMart ad stated that you could pre-order the movie 'The Passion of the Christ' on DVD or VHS at walmart.com.  The movie is coming to the store August 31.  If anyone is interested in pre-ordering, check it here.

Nards ~ Boomer sounds like a great pup for Travis and Christy!!

Jenny ~ Glad to see your posts.  Miss you, gal!

Pat ~ Thanks for the music for 'Just a Closer Walk with Thee'.  That has to be Floyd Cramer...he is now deceased but was a great pianist in Country Music.

Ruth Ann ~ I am praying that Papa John and Cornelia are okay.  They are busy people so perhaps, he just hasn't had time to post lately.

Today is yard mowing day and perhaps bush trimming and weed eating.  Whew!  I am tired before I start.

Hi everyone.  Will be brief this morning as this cold has really gotten me down.  I didn't go to choir last evening and went to bed a little after eight and didn't feel like getting up to go walking.  I did go to coffee but was glad to get home.  Unfortunately, today is the day we have invited good friends to dine with us this evening.  Afraid I won't be very good company unless things change a lot during the day.

Marilyn, your new sewing machine looks nice and I am sure you will give it a good workout.

Nards, I understand that Labs make great pets and that they are very smart.  Good to see you posting and do hope that Karma will soon not be feeling as tired.

Etta Sue, don't get too hot with all that outside work.  Are you still having very hot weather.  We certainly are but suppose to be better tomorrow and for the weekend.

Ruth Ann, the rain must have stayed up your way as we didn't get any of it.  I agree with the several comments in terms of missing seeing Papa John post and do hope he isn't ill.

Pat, thanks for the devotional and the hymns you have posted.  Those are great old hymns.

Jenny, nice to see your post.

Janet, with all those grandchildren around I bet you will not have much time for worry.  Enjoy them as you are a fortunate woman to have grandchildren to come to see you.

Hope everyone has a good day.

Darrel, Abby and I have had a good swim and breakfast, now I'm checking into bid you all a good day. The exercise really helps me.  It seems to allow me to let go of a lot of the stress which has piled up lately, and I'm so thankful that pool is available to us.

I have to leave soon to go pick up the grandsons from Salina.  I hope I only get the two who are grandsons, and don't have to take the step-grandson.  He is a very difficult kid, one who has to be watched constantly, and with all else happening around here, that's a tough assignment.  He is almost 16 years old now, and has lots of problems.  I know he needs lots of love and attention, but I feel really stretched out right now.  So I hope he doesn't come this time.  Forgive me, Lord. :'(

Thank you all for your continuing prayers for us.

Larry, we were posting at the same time.  Yes, you are right, I am very blessed to have grandkids close enough to visit.  And I feel very guilty for not wanting Tim to come this time, but just being honest.

I wasn't feeling well yesterday but wanted to come and tell you how much I enjoyed
Joni on Larry King.

If there is a repeat ; please try to watch it.

Was so glorious to hear her testimony--especially when she said that she found the Lord while
she was recuperating.

Her words " I would rather spend a lifetime in this chair and know the Lord than be out of the
chair and not know the Lord.

Put all of my petty problems in perspective.

What a beautiful child of God--I will be looking at her website--thanks PAT for reminding me.

Take care as always,

Love in CHrist,

Joyce

Good Morning all....another sunny and lovely morning here on the island.  Thanks for the devotional and hymn Pat.  Nice to see Jenny dropping in again.  Hope it will become a habit!

Nards, your dog sounds like a winner.  Good luck on the efforts to train.  Yes, duck hunting is fun....I did that a little when young on the prairie.  We ate quite a lot of wild birds, moose & deer, fish, etc.  Personally, did not like to kill anything.  Taste great tho'.... :)

Yest.,  Wendy went thro' the terrible process of meeting with ICBC about the accident insurance and her claim....only over two years since the accident!  Was treated like a criminal and subjected to about two hours of grilling....even tho' her medical records show the extent and seriousness of her injuries.  They even go back to everything in her childhood....school records, family history....the most personal and invasive things one can imagine.  Have a complete record of everything and everyone....Gad!  She was a nervous wreck when back home.  The lawyer said it went very well and so the next step will be more of the same....A decent and honest life doesn't seem to count for anything these days...at least not in the eyes of what passes for law.  Okay....now I feel better!

Etta Sue, I liked today's 'Bottom Blurb' lots.  So true!  Also, thanks for the hints you posted awhile back.  They are quite helpful.

Little smile about now?

Laura had a puppy on a leash and was walking it down the street when she saw Sophie. "I just got this puppy for my little brother," Laura told her friend.

"Really?" Sophie replied, "Who'd you find to make a swap like that?"

;D

Pleasant day all and God Bless.

Liz

CHANGE NOT THY FAITH WITH CHANGING TIMES

When we were coming back from Penna. into Jersey on Monday; I was
wondering while there seem to be little traffic.

I was pleased but then realized(the signs stating Holland Tunnel closed to trucks and other
restrictions heading into NY) how the terror alert has affected us all.

We have an aircraft repair station outside of the airport(15 miles from George Washington BridgeI)
and we have seen tighter security since Sept. 11, so we are getting use to the alerts.

This time is seemed different; so may I ask for prayers for all
Jersey, New Yorkers and Washington DC area people--in fact for all of us to learn to handle
this new alert with a closer understanding of the Lord.

Through HIS love may HE send us the courage that we need at this time.

Love in Christ,

Joyce

Papa John

Good morning.  Please excuse my absence for the last couple of days.  I am doing fine though still suffering with my back.  But my problems are nothing compared with so many people.

A few nights ago in our daily reading we read this familiar passage in Isaiah.

Isa 53:3-7
3   He was despised and rejected by men, a man of sorrows, and familiar with suffering. Like one from whom men hide their faces he was despised, and we esteemed him not.
4   Surely he took up our infirmities and carried our sorrows, yet we considered him stricken by God, smitten by him, and afflicted.
5   But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed.
6   We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to his own way; and the LORD has laid on him the iniquity of us all.
7   He was oppressed and afflicted, yet he did not open his mouth; he was led like a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is silent, so he did not open his mouth.  (NIV)

This is the passage the Eunuch was reading when Philip preached the gospel to him.

Acts 8:35-38
35   Then Philip began with that very passage of Scripture and told him the good news about Jesus.
36   As they traveled along the road, they came to some water and the eunuch said, "Look, here is water. Why shouldn't I be baptized?"
38   And he gave orders to stop the chariot. Then both Philip and the eunuch went down into the water and Philip baptized him. (NIV)

--- Papa John          <:))))><<

Eph 2:8-9  For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-- and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God-- not by works, so that no one can boast.(NIV)

All is well here in my home,  Miss Cheryl has had a good week, she has been eating good, I try to keep plenty of water in her but sometimes this is very hard as she struggles to swallow at times, I pray day and night over her. God has used her to change me, as I was so hard before I met her, due to serious hardships I had suffered in my life.

Dear Judy,
Miss cheryl is the Lady I have been taking care of for almost 3 1/2 years.. She has a rare form of frontal lobe  dementia, she is terminal.. She woke up one day about 5 years ago and it all started.. She is only 59 years old..Things have been slow until the last 8 months.. She is now bedridden, she can no longer hardly talk, of course she dose not walk.. I have to pick her up, she is what they call a full body lift..I grind all of her food into a puree and pray always that she dosen't choke on it.. For a while the only way to get water in her was with a spoon, but we have gotten alittle stronger and again can swallow from a cup.. I  believe in a good food program of fresh fruits and only fresh vegies, we eat very strick, Our bodies put out 10 cups of water  aday so water is so important to us..
Well I wanted to share to you about Miss Cheryl and Our life.. God has Blessed me when I became her nurse.. I had no idea that she would be the one to change my heart and give me love from the best friend I could have ever gotten..She and her family will always be apart of my family now as we all a family here on earth and in the family of Christ together later in heaven..
ABOVE ALL PUT ON LOVE..

I am back home, and now there are six in my family again.  I can see we will be cooking a LOT more food than usual, these three big boys can sure put it away!  Darrel had supper cooked and ready to put on the table when we walked in.  What a wonderful husband he is, and I thank God for him daily.

I need to get off here and talk to the kids.  Also figure out where they can sleep!

Alma, I'm sure you have been and are a blessing to Miss Cheryl, too.  God bless you both.

Dear Janet, I just read the update about Beth.   What a big concern.   You certainly need much prayer from God's people.  Thank you for the update and I will be one to lift Beth up to God every day.  Also you and Darrel.

Just popping in before bed.

I was outside for a few minutes tonight after dinner and came in to find my message light blinking.  I played the message and found that it had been my mother that had called.   :(  She said that they are having a fairly good time.  :)

Nards, I look forward to hearing your puppy stories. One of my past bosses trained yellow labs, and we were regalled with his tales as he went through all the competitions (trials, I think they're called).  Over the course of 5 years (I think), he and his dog achieved top dog for North America.  I found the stories quite fascinating, and hope to hear AND see pictures of your puppy as he grows.

Papa John, I was glad to see you again as I too had missed your daily GREEN message to everyone.

And now, good night everyone.

Pat

I'm just in the door from Andrew's and Terena's house.  It was good.  There was only one grandson that didn't come.

Now it's time to lock the door and I hope that I'll be here a little more tomorrow.
