Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Morning Devotional...

Even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.
Colossians 3:13

Abiel Holmes, the father of Oliver Wendell Holmes, was a preacher in Cambridge, Massachusetts. He was harshly dismissed from his pulpit because he would not compromise biblical truth.

On his death-bed his wife bent low to catch some whispered words.

"If any have injured me, let their injuries," and then there was a pause. He then continued, "let their injuries be written in sand."

What a beautiful picture of hurts forgiven and erased.

May God give us the grace to respond to our hurts in the same spirit.
--W. Ross Rainey

Forgiven, forgotten, all cleansed in the blood,
My sins are remembered no more;
They have all been atoned for by Calv'ry's flood,
My sins are remembered no more.

How beautiful Pat.

"Let their injuries be written in sand".....

Lord let all injuries be written in  sand...Amen.

Alm.  That is a lovely picture.  Well done!

God bless and protect you all this day.
Jenny.

Anthony

That's a lovely devotional Pat, and it shows the difference between a Christian and a hypocrite.  The hypocrite will refuse to speak with someone even if they have simply not flattered them in the way that they would want.  The Christian forgives all wrongs.  How true.

That's a lovely photograph Alma.  What a great looking insect.

I trust everyone has a great day today.  See you all later.

Anthony.

I just read the prayer request of Ruth Ann Bice.  I am sorry that your son is having a tough time, but thankful that he is surrounded by so many caring Christians.  Praying that the Lord will really come into his life and give him peace and joy.

Am I ever glad to be here this AM.  :) :)

I will catch up on the  readings sometime between now and this weekend.  It is good to see Jenny back ;D  She is such a sweetheart.

The devotional about writing away the hurts, etc. in the sand speaks such truth.  I pray that I, too,  can do this on a daily basis.

My sister is looking for a cruise vacation for us this month or next.  Somehow, I'm just not sure yet.

We're still studying about MasterLife and this takes up a good bit of my morning quiet time.  Learning the Bible verses is kinda hard for me.  Then putting it all together.  Wow!  My brain just has a stressful time.  ::)

A blessed day to all.

love, kathy

Hi everyone.  Will post early today before going to coffee at the senior center (our regular Friday men's coffee) as hope to get some other projects done today.  I have several pieces of music I use for Calvin Cove that are from old browned out books and difficult to read while I am playing.  I have the software to rewrite them, including transposing the key if needed, but I have to annotate each note.  It really goes rather quickly and this is something I have wanted to do for sometime.

I am feeling much better this morning than I did yesterday morning.  By mid-afternoon I started feeling better and we were entertaining friends for the evening meal.  Pat was making bread in the bread machine and had put the chicken in the oven to bake when a severe storm came up and the power went out for about 25 minutes.  Fortunately the chicken hadn't even started to bake so could go back in the refrigerator and when the power came back on Pat found the bread was past the mixing stage and in the rising stage so she removed it and made some delicious dinner rolls.  The dinner was delicious and not spoiled at all.

Alma, congratuations on your photo finish on Photo-Sense.  It is certainly and outstanding photo.  I also appreciated your comment concerned Cheryl and what she has met to your life.  It is a wonderful example of how a person's life can continue to have influence even in such a striken state.

Janet, know you are going to be busy and will have some good grocery bills as these young folks can go through the groceries!   ;D

Kathy, Ria, Anthony, Papa John, Jenny, Pat, Marilyn, Judy and everyone it is good to see your postings.

Pat, that is a fine devotional this morning.  We need more folks like Abiel Holmes who will stand up for what is right according to the Bible.  I think when we read the Old Testament and see what God did because he was displeased with what his people were doing we need to take note when we consider compromises of scripture just because it doesn't fit today's social agenda or isn't politcally correct.

Well it is time to head for coffee.  Hope everyone has a great day.

Ruth Ann Bice

Good morning, friends,

Brrrr - it's only in the 60s and I'm already cold. I think I need to move to Equador!

Thank you for your prayers.

Y'all have a good day.

Good Morning. I want to thank those of you who have prayed for Fay,  She still needs lots of prayer.

Not much to say this morning but I did want to check in here to read all the posts . I must get ready for work now and I promis that I will post more later today.

Kathy - if you can go on a cruise, GO!.  Just take your Bible along and set aside a little time each day for reading it and prayer.  Maybe God wants you to do this.

Good Morning Everyone!

As I mentioned in yesterday's topic, I didn't get home from the birthday party till nearly midnight and didn't have a moment to do much reading in here but I'll try to catch up today.

I have a few errands to run and a lab visit as well.

It was good to see everyone last night.  Even my ex-daughter-in-law was there with her aunt and it was good to renew memories.  Angela and I were very close when she was married to my son and I miss our talks we used to have.  We sure had a good visit last night and David got lots and lots of new toys!

I received this as an email yesterday.  I haven't checked it for authinticity, but, the message is a god one.  Too often, we in our busyness, overlook the simple things in our lives, the things given by God.  Also we KNOW the "Power" is the mercy of our Father.

Lisa Beamer on Good Morning America - If you remember, she's the wife of Todd Beamer who said "Let's Roll!" and helped take down the plane that was heading for Washington, D.C.

She said it's the little things that she misses most about Todd, such as hearing the garage door open as he came home, and her children running to meet him. She's now the Mom of a beautiful little girl, Mary.

Lisa recalled this story:

I had a very special teacher in high school many years ago whose husband died suddenly of a heart attack. About a week after his death, she shared some of her insight with a classroom of students. As the late afternoon sunlight came streaming in through the classroom windows and the class was nearly over, she moved a few things aside on the edge of her desk and sat down there.

With a gentle look of reflection on her face, she paused and said, "Class is over. I would like to share with all of you, a thought that is unrelated to class, but which I feel is very important.

"Each of us is put here on earth to learn, share, love, appreciate and give of ourselves. None of us knows when this fantastic experience will end. It can be taken away at any moment. Perhaps this is the Powers way of telling us that we must make the most out of every single day."

Her eyes beginning to water, she went on, "So I would like you all to make me a promise. >From now on, on your way to school, or on your way home, find something beautiful to notice. It doesn't have to be something you see, it could be a scent, perhaps of freshly baked bread wafting out of someone's house, or it could be the sound of the breeze slightly rustling the leaves in the trees, or the way the morning light catches one autumn leaf as it falls gently to the ground.

"Please look for these things, and cherish them. For, although it may sound trite to some, these things are the 'stuff' of life. The little things we are put here on earth to enjoy. The things we often take for granted We must make it important to notice them, for at anytime it can all be taken away."

The class was completely quiet. We all picked up our books and filed out of the room silently. That afternoon, I noticed more things on my way home from school than I had that whole semester.

Every once in a while, I think of that teacher and remember what an impression she made on all of us, and I try to appreciate all of those things that sometimes we all overlook.

Take notice of something special you see on your lunch hour today. Go barefoot, or walk on the beach at sunset. Stop off on the way home tonight to get a double dip ice cream cone. For as we get older, is not the things we did that we often regret, but the things we didn't do.

Janet

Pat, it is good to hear that you had a good time last night.  We all need those times of refreshing.

I took the four kids swimming this morning, and when we got home, Darrel had biscuits and sausage gravy ready for breakfast.  Whoopee!  That was great!  I thought I would have to start from scratch and make pancakes and stuff.  Now the kids are watching "Second Hand Lions" while I catch up on here.  Later today we will go to the fair and barbecue at Hugoton so they can see their cousins Curtis and Mark.

Larry, it is so nice of you to address us as you do.  I really appreciate it.

I wish you all a wonderful day!

Not those darn biscuits and gravy Janet  ::) ::) ::) If I don't get to taste some of those before long I will be disappointed.  One thing though, the pastor's daughter cooked us a Mexican not so long back, so I at least know about Mexican food now.

I have just had a couple of hours out so rushing to get the dinner out.  Will drop by later on.

God bless,

Anthony.

Larry ~ God has shined on Indiana with a cloudless sky and cool temperatures.  Yesterday while mowing, it was wonderful.  In fact, when a cloud came between the sun and earth, it was a little chilly.  Jerry trimmed some trees and bushes...I mowed and trimmed.  Then we loaded my little trailer and hauled the limbs to the woods.  We even burnt some back there and the heat felt good.

Today, I have my windows open since it is only suppose to get to 72 degrees..my ALT+Cont+0176 doesn't work for degrees for some reason.

Sarah, I have a great-nephew who will be a Senior in college this fall but is working at a Christian sport camp for the summer.  He loves it!  He is on the college football team and is jack-of-all-trades at camp...everything from training football to cleaning the latrine!

Ali and Inky likes the windows open.  They like to watch birdies while lying in the windows.  Hope they don't push the screens out and go bye-bye!

Ria, between CP and SrNet, I sometimes wonder who all has seen pictures of Ali and Inky.....my famous kitty cats!!!

Pat ~ I can't believe David Hugh is two already!  Is he still as cute as he was?  Of course, he is.  How dumb is that question?

JudyB ~ Thanks for Lisa's story.  How true!  Right now, I can smell the fresh plowed field.  I could see a cloudless sky if I were outside.  I can feel the cool air that God has provided us today.  I can hear farming noises and the birds singing because my windows are up.  And pretty soon, I will have lunch....may just take it outside and dine on my deck today.  All my senses are activated!  That gives me joy in my heart.

Al ~ I have only been on one cruise...around the Hawaiian Islands on the USS Constitution in '92.  In fact, I showed Jerry this week end the videos I took while on the cruise.  A real way to travel around the islands.  Not packing up and waiting at airports to go to another island.  Go to bed and when you awaken, you are at another island.  See the sites on that island and repeat.  Wonderful!!

I love sitting here and hearing the sound of a tractor.  The sod farmer is plowing the field behind Ivalou and Kaye Don's houses.  They are both hay fever victims and the ragweed are doing a number on their sinus'.  So Mel, the sod farmer is plowing.  I am glad I am a dark haired person...no hay fever for me.  But Ivalou and Kaye Don has suffered from hay fever all their lives in August until freezing.  Bless their hearts.

The two women that went with Ivalou and I to Precious Moments Chapel in Carthage, Missouri, has season tickets for a dinner theater in Indianapolis.  Ivalou and I got season tickets for next year so the four of us will be seeing 7 musical-dramas-comedies and have dinner together.  Sounds like fun!!!!  There will be a show about every 6-8 weeks from January through November.

Janet

Oh, no, Anthony!!!  She cooked a Mexican?  Isn't that against the law? ;) ;D ;D  If Mieka were here she would say she hopes you don't cook a Chinese! ;D  I love Mexican food, or Tex-Mex, which is what we mostly have here.  True Mexican food isn't hot!  And I do love that salsa.

These kids are restless and wrestling all over the place.  I need to go organize some arts/crafts project and get them busy.  I have been working on laundry, have three Scout shirts to wash and iron to have ready for them to wear Sunday.

Etta Sue, we also are having cloudy and cool weather today and I love it!  As you said, almost on the chilly side!

Gotta go, see y'all later.

Well, here in Nashville we are also having a beautiful day.  Temperature in the lower 70's and the humidity low makes the day almost perfect.  Cornelia and I went out shopping this morning.  We went to the grocery store, to the bank, to Walgreen's, and we stopped at a sandwich shop for our lunch.

Pat, thanks for the devotional.  To forgive and to be forgiven are wonderful blessings of the grace of God.

Alma, a very nice insect picture which show up so good green on green.

Good to see each of you Anthony, Jenny, Ria, Kathy, Larry, Ruth Ann, Marilyn, Al, Judy B., Janet, and Etta Sue.

When Saul (later called Paul) was speaking before King Agrippa he suggested that the purpose of his work was for men to be able to receive the forgiveness of sins.

Acts 26:13-18
13   About noon, O king, as I was on the road, I saw a light from heaven, brighter than the sun, blazing around me and my companions.
14   We all fell to the ground, and I heard a voice saying to me in Aramaic, 'Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me? It is hard for you to kick against the goads.'
15   "Then I asked, 'Who are you, Lord?' "'I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting,' the Lord replied.
16   'Now get up and stand on your feet. I have appeared to you to appoint you as a servant and as a witness of what you have seen of me and what I will show you.
17    I will rescue you from your own people and from the Gentiles. I am sending you to them
18   to open their eyes and turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, so that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified by faith in me.'
(NIV)

Quoteto open their eyes and turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, so that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified by faith in me.

It is time for bed here and I just had to dwell for a while on the scripture that Papa John quoted.  Isn't the gospel wonderful.  What a good scripture to go to bed on.

Janet, that Mexican never complained once.  It makes the Chinese sound like a bunch of moaners doesn't it  ;D

Tomorrow the men and boys from the church are  having a breakfast together.  Last time one of the youngsters ate a whole load of insanity sauce (do you have that in America?)  He looked a little pale for the rest of the morning, so we will  have to keep our eyes on the youngsters.  In the afternoon we team up with the women and girls and play badminton together at the local sports village.  So I am looking forward to the fellowship.  Have a good night everyone and God bless.  See you tomorrow.

Anthony.

It has been a busy week.  I took 9 of my photos to the fair and won five 1st, two 2nd, one 3rd and one of the 1st place photos to Grand Champion.  I was so jazzed to see that big purple ribbon on my picture. :-))

I better get, Chandraya wants to play a game.

Congratulations Sonja!  I've never won Grand Champion for my work, but I do know the feeling that comes from seeing ribbons on your entries!

Congratulations Alma on the Photo of the Day too!

Just before we left for the day, my boss came up to me and handed me an envelope.  I opened it and inside were two tickets for a Blue Jays game at the end of the month.  YIPPPEEEE  All he said was "Thanks for your hard work".  A company that we purchase from brought them in, and he chose to pass them on rather than keeping them for himself.

Now, time to go sit and do some cross-stitching I think.  I have a wedding gift to get finished before the weekend is over so that I can get it in and framed before the wedding on Aug 14.

Have a good night everyone!

Pat

All That Thrills My Soul Is Jesus
(Click to hear music)

Who can cheer the heart like Jesus,
By His presence all divine?
True and tender, pure and precious,
O how blest to call Him mine!

Chorus:
All that thrills my soul is Jesus;
He is more than life to me;
And the fairest of ten thousand,
In my blessed Lord I see.

Love of Christ so freely given.
Grace of God beyond degree,
Mercy higher than the heaven,
Deeper then the deepest sea.

Chorus

What a wonderful redemption!
Never can a mortal know
How my sin, tho' red like crimson,
Can be whiter than the snow.

Chorus

Every need His hand supplying,
Every good in Him I see;
On His strength divine relying,
He is all in all to me.

Chorus

By the crystal flowing river
With the ransomed I will sing,
And forever and forever
Praise and glorify the King.

Chorus:
All that thrills my soul is Jesus;
He is more than life to me;
And the fairest of ten thousand,
In my blessed Lord I see.
