Morning Devotional...

When Everyone in Heaven Rejoices
"or what woman, if she has ten silver coins and loses one coin, does not light a lamp and sweep the house and search carefully until she finds it?  And when she has found it, she calls together her friends and neighbors, saying, "'rejoice with me, for I have found the coin which I had lost!'"  In the same way, I tell you, there is joy in the prexence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents."
                                                                                                      Luke 15:8-10

This Scripture brings back a certain trip to the beach.  As my husband and I were about to relax in our travel trailer at a California beach,  I realized I had misplaced my expensive sunglasses.  Frantically retracing my steps, I hunted through both the trailer and the car.  We even called the AAA office where we had made a quick stop to secure a few maps.  However, the sunglasses never materialized.

How ecstatic this woman was to find this missing coin she'd considered lost forever.  When a young girl in Israel married she began wearing a headband containing ten silver coins.  This band carried the same significance as our modern wedding rings.  To lose one would have been nothing short of a catastrophe.

Jesus compared the woman's deep joy to the celebration that goes on in heaven when a sinner repents and "Son-beams" of peace finally flood into the soul.  It's the feeling of "wholeness" a person hungers for all her life.

Prayer:
Lord, I am grateful that Your Word has penetrated the core of my own heart.  Hallelujah!

Good devotional and funny message, Soni and Marilyn.

It's very cold here - I went to get my oil changed and thought I'd freeze!

Y'all have a good day and a good weekend. I'll see you when I return.

GOOD MORNING LADIES & GENTLEMEN

It's a busy day for the TBEAR & so I'm going to bake up some CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIE BARS this morning so I need to get a shower & get somethings done around the house before I start baking.  So, I pray that all of you are doing well & keeping warm.  We woke up to see some SNOW coming down so if it sticks around we will just have to wait & see what happens.  So, whatever your plans are for today stay warm & safe & watch out for those crazy drivers out there on the roads ( this time of year it's bad around these parts ) so have fun in whatever you do.  I'll check back in later on when I can & report back on how the cookies turned out ... they are always good so I might post the recipe for all to try & those with kids ... this will be a hit with them for sure !!

Till next time ...
Bear Hugs & Blessings always,
TBEAR

PS: Check out the Menu for today & be sure to post !!

I guess I live too far south of TBear to have snow.  I have already been to the bank and no snow here.  It is cold and windy but no snow yet!  The weathermen are predicting snow, though.

Sounds like yesterday was a day of 'Lost Posts'.  I think there were three of you who lost posts.  Things run in three's so hopefully that is all.

Yesterday was a day of memories for me.  I went through picture albums that I have since 1970 and scanned pictures of family members.  Then ran them through PSP.  Then made a collage of the pictures for Christmas cards for the family.  Now to print them all out.  I hope to get them done today.  I really like them....hopefully they will like them and want to keep it out all year long.

Have a God-blessed day!!!

NO EASY LIFE FOR THE TRUE CHRISTIAN :)

December 11

Trials and Pain: Easter Without Good Friday

For to you it has been granted on behalf of Christ, not only to
believe in Him, but also to suffer for His sake.
--Philippians 1:29

..God will crucify without pity those whom He desires to raise
without measure!...

God wants to crucify us from head to foot-making our own powers
ridiculous and useless--in the desire to raise us without measure
for His glory and for our eternal good....

Willingness to suffer for Jesus' sake--this is what we have lost
from the Christian church. We want our Easter to come without the
necessity of a Good Friday. We forget that before the Redeemer
could rise and sing among His brethren He must first bow His head
and suffer among His brethren!

We forget so easily that in the spiritual life there must be the
darkness of the night before there can be the radiance of the
dawn. Before the life of resurrection can be known, there must be
the death that ends the dominion of self. It is a serious but a
blessed decision, this willingness to say, "I will follow Him no
matter what the cost. I will take the cross no matter how it
comes!"  I Talk Back to the Devil, 96-99.

"Lord, this morning I come before You on my knees to say, 'I will
follow Him no matter what the cost. I will take the cross no
matter how it comes!' Amen."

Hi everyone.  A touch of winter has come to Georgia today as it is getting much colder outside and I see we are to get to freezing tonight.

Several days ago I had to call to set up a telephone appointment with a nurse for a pre-op interview.  It was at 3:45 pm yesterday.  I called at that time and got put on hold.  About 5 mnutes later someone answers and I tell her why I called and she says she will connect me to a nurse.  So I wait another five minutes and the same thing happens again and I ask her if I get put back at the bottom of the heap each time.  She asked if I wanted a nurse to call me and she assured me they would call back yesterday afternoon.  Around 7 pm the phone rang and it was someone from the hospital asking me to call back this morning around 9 am to do the interview.  After coffee I called and found the office is closed.  This whole process is not starting off very well for the procedure on Tuesday.  I am not impressed. ::)  They don't seem to have their act together.  I will try again on Monday.

Papa John, so sorry to hear that your brother-in-law is in such critical condition.  Hope that he is not in pain.

I started this posting about two hours ago but had a telephone call and then we had to leave to attend the funeral of our friend.

It is now time for lunch.  I will try to get back later.

Do You Hear What I Hear?
(Click to hear music)

Said the night wind to the little lamb,
do you see what I see
Way up in the sky, little lamb,
do you see what I see
A star, a star, dancing in the night
With a tail as big as a kite
With a tail as big as a kite

Said the little lamb to the shepherd boy,
do you hear what I hear
Ringing through the sky, shepherd boy,
do you hear what I hear
A song, a song, high above the trees
With a voice as big as the sea
With a voice as big as the sea

Said the shepherd boy to the mighty king,
do you know what I know
In your palace warm, mighty king,
do you know what I know
A Child, a Child shivers in the cold
Let us bring Him silver and gold
Let us bring Him silver and gold

Said the king to the people everywhere,
listen to what I say
Pray for peace, people everywhere!
listen to what I say
The Child, the Child, sleeping in the night
He will bring us goodness and light
He will bring us goodness and light

Margit and I have just been watching Dr Charles Stanley, and something that he said made us think.
We maybe were  10-20-30-40=50 yrs or more on our life here, then suddenly we were reborn spiritually, we started to devour the scriptures and attend church, and in a few years we thought we knew it all!
But really we know so little!
Yes some people came a long way  very quickly, while others seemed to lag behind, but all in all, we are really not very far on this pilgrim path.
We must deny our selves and take up our crosses daily, putting to death the old habits and attitudes.
His mercies are new every morning, but also new every morning are the fleshly feelings.
We must keep on "looking unto Jesus, the Author and Finisher of our faith."
Then one day perhaps we might be able to say."What the father tells me, that I do."
We all need each other's encouragement in this walk.
Love, Chris.

Papa John ~ I am a firm believer that God was with me everytime I had trouble. I always said a little prayer whenever I went out in the truck too! I always said, " I don't care what happens to me, but be with those I meet on the byways and highways. Protect them and be with them as they travel on their way." I believe God was always with the people I met on the byways and highways. ;)

Pat S. ~ I will never forget that little trip to Perrysburg. I thank you for thinking I was the neatest friend. I hope that Etta Sue and I can make it to Perrysburg again and have lunch with you lovely people. My Son will be stationed at the Pittsburg Battalion so maybe Etta Sue and I can make a stop in Perrysburg. 8)

Jane ~ I know you will be okay. God's watching over you. I hope Etta Sue and I do get to meet you someday. I am so sorry I had my stroke when I did, but I figure God had his reasons. I like your daughters humour!!!!!!!

Hello all!  A cold, blustery day in Western North Carolina.  Yesterday, the weather was downright weird.  Travis and I got ready to leave and it was pouring the rain, so jackets on.  We got in the Jeep, pulled out and the sun was shining brightly. ???  Drove to the bank, started raining again and it was cold.  Left the bank, went to McDonalds (less than 5 minutes), and it was cloudy, but warm.

and os it went.  one stop would be sunny and warm.  the next sunny and cold.  Then, rainy adn warm, then reainy adn cold.  bizarre,.

we had the shuford family christmas.  I think only one cousin wasn't there, but he hasn't been there since I've been around.  Travis had a good time playing -- there are three other cousins within a year of him.

goiing to study my sunday school lesson now.

sorry for typos -- toddler in my lap.

TBEAR:  Your graphics are just beautiful.  Where do you live?

Jerry:  If you and the gang have a get-together in Ohio sometime next year, do you think I could be included as well?  I'd sure like to meet you.!

Pat:  I love that photo fo you and Jack.  Is it possible that I could get one like it to keep?

Etta Sue:  I have sent you a Christmas card by "snail mail"  When (or if) it arrives, would you let me know?  Apparently, some of my cards have been returned to me.  I can't understand why, as the address is correct, and I put on sufficient postage.  I am going to the post office on Monday with the cards that were returned to me, and find out why.

This is VERY frustrating... and quite upsetting, when I don't know why!

We went to the hospital again today to see my brother-in-law.  His condition continues to get worse.  A social worker at the hospital is going to talk with my sister on Monday about perhaps putting him in  a Hospice.  Larry he would have a lot of pain except for the Morphine pump.  All they can do for him is to try to keep him comfortable.  Thank you for your prayers.

:DHi everyone thankyou for the sweet Birthday wishes. I just put the kids  to sleep and was ready to relax tonight and decided to check my email again. I am so happy to have technology to keep me intouch with my family and friends. It also keeps me intouch with God and helps me to keep positve thoughts about people in the world. There is a lot of good in it. when I turn on the news I see all bad and when I come to the web I can go straight to my favorite sites and recieve positve insparation and that helps me to stay focused in a good way instead of being mad or angry at the world.

Here is a site I just found and I in my spare time I am going to help.
I love the midi songs yall posted ithe song Do you hear what I hear I am learning to play on the piano. On christmas eve I am going to play about 10 songs and my step daughter along woth her friends are going to sing. http://www.angelsforhope.org/
