Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Morning Devotional...

"The Lord looketh from heaven; He beholdeth all the sons of men."
Psalm 33:13

Perhaps no figure of speech represents God in a more gracious light than when He is spoken of as stooping from His throne, and coming down from heaven to attend to the wants and to behold the woes of mankind.

We love Him, who, when Sodom and Gomorrah were full of iniquity, would not destroy those cities until He had made a personal visitation of them.

We cannot help pouring out our heart in affection for our Lord who inclines His ear from the highest glory, and puts it to the lip of the dying sinner, whose failing heart longs after reconciliation. How can we but love Him when we know that He numbers the very hairs of our heads, marks our path, and orders our ways?

Specially is this great truth brought near to our heart, when we recollect how attentive He is, not merely to the temporal interests of His creatures, but to their spiritual concerns.

Though leagues of distance lie between the finite creature and the infinite Creator, yet there are links uniting both. When a tear is wept by thee, think not that God doth not behold; for, "Like as a father pitieth his children, so the Lord pitieth them that fear Him."

Thy sigh is able to move the heart of Jehovah; thy whisper can incline His ear unto thee; thy prayer can stay His hand; thy faith can move His arm.

Think not that God sits on high taking no account of thee. Remember that however poor and needy thou art, yet the Lord thinketh upon thee. For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect towards Him.

Oh! then repeat the truth that never tires; No God is like the God my soul desires; He at whose voice heaven trembles, even He, Great as He is, knows how to stoop to me.

Good morning, folks!  We are under a winter weather advisory, predicting more snow and wind.  I have to take Beth to Dodge City today, we will stay overnight and then to the airport at 4:30 AM on Saturday.

Anyway I am popping in to say hello, and to let Mum Pat know I will be out of pocket for two days! ;)  Uh.......is that okay, Pat?  I am taking my camera, does that earn me any Brownie points? ;D

I hope the roads don't get too bad, I dislike driving on snow and ice.  I am glad the Cruiser is a front wheel drive, though.

See all of you when I get back home!

Sonja, thanks for the bear hug (even if Pat did get an even bigger one!  >:( ;) ;D  (((((hugs))))) back to you, Sweetie!

Good Morning Yes Jenny the devotional did speak to me this morning Thank you dear Pat for the devotional. Right on at the right time for me.

Last night I called one of our prayer team to let her know about my surgery date and just happened to ask her daughter Elizabeth if she would stay here at night while I am in the hospital she will Praise the Lord. I was afraid that gilbert would leave my doggies out in the rain all night.  I do worry about them. She loves dogs nd doesn't mind them being on the bed with her. Her girlfriend from church will be here with her.

Good morning, folks!

Marilyn that is nice of your friend to do that.
Is it still raining there?

HI Rachelle! I've missed you in here.  I've been wondering how you've been doing.  Do you mind if I put you on my yahoo list of friends?  Glad the kids are better!

The happenings in my house today:

My oldest son is going to Casper today to a swim meet.

We will be baking cookies.

Take pictures around my little City.

Help with newspapers.

That about sums up my day.

Have a good day all!
Soni

It sure is still raining. I don't really expect it to stop anytime soon. That is pretty much how it is in thisneck of the redwoods this time of year. The sun was out for a little while yesterday. Long enough for me to go take those phots I posted of the Arcata square.

Ria~You are a quick learner with these graphics and stuff.  Hope the ice thaws so you can ride your bike.  :D

Elizabeth

Thank you for the devotional Pat.  I will have to go back and read all of Dec.11th posts and the devotional.  Did not spend time on the computer yesterday.

Billy Graham was on TV last night and they are helping the victims of those terrible fires in San Diego.  The music was wonderful and it is amazing that George Beverly Shea can still sing so well...and with such conviction.  The Gaither group also sang and that really stirs the spirit.

I went to a Carpet Bowling Lunch in another town and it was very pleasant.  So many of the seniors are ill and some dying.  A few go to church and I can only hope that they really do know the Lord.  The three friends I went with do not attend church and don't feel the need.  Al and I have tried, in a quiet way, to reach them....think it might be working with one.  I can only pray ...

Must go now.  Have to see my doctor about some prescriptions.  Feel like a walking medicine cabinet these days.  Trying to get them all refilled before the move as I will be changing doctors in a few weeks.  Chemainus is too far for it to be practical staying in that Clinic.

Rain again today.  Typical winter.  My daily devotions talks about gentleness.  Jesus was gentle.
Nothing is so strong as gentleness, nothing so gentle as real strength.  - Frances de Sales.  Amen to that!

nards656

My we are a quiet bunch today!

Hello, all.

Karma and Travis are still rather under the weather.  Don't know when my turn is.....

Well, I'm going to post a few pics before the "Around Your Town" Challenge ends, so everyone be good!  Bye for now
I survived open heart surgery.... :)

Check out my blog at www.bernardshuford.com.

karmat

Hi all!  Travis and I are feeling some better, still not too perky, though.

Just wanted to jump and and let ya'll know I'm thinking about you!

Take care, and maybe I'll be able to write more later.

Hi nards! :-*

Etta Sue

What tearful heartfelt story, Suzanne!  Thanks!

Sorry to read that Karma and Nards are under the weather.

Glad to hear that Sarah's team won their game!  Hopefully you will be in the tournament.

Sounds like everyone is having busy days.  'Tis the season!~!!

I got online this morning but I couldn't get on Outlook Express for my email.  I tried to get on CP and Internet Explorer wasn't working.  Even tried Netscape....nothing.  And MSN IM...not working.  So I got offline and did maintenance.  I called Jerry and he couldn't get anything to work either.  Must have been 'voyager' (Core.com)

So I got caught up on my TV shows that was recorded.  Ivalou called and we talked for about an hour.  I fixed me some lunch and now online.  Lazy day!!!
<:))))><<~~<:))))><<~~<:))))><<~~<:))))><<~~<:))))

THREE DAYS!

Three Days since Chris posted!

WHERE ARE YOU CHRIS?
We miss you so much!

Larry Hanna

Hi everyone.  This morning I wrote a long posting and then in working with two windows so I could respond to previous postings I accidently hit the back button and lost the post.  I then had to go to a SeniorNet Computer Learning Center Volunteers meeting.  So am just going to say I have been here and will see you all tomorrow.  We have a choir Christmas party this evening.  We are picking up a couple who are in their late 80s to go with us.  He still sings in the choir although about 7 weeks ago had colon cancer surgery and has had to take it easy.

Jenny

Pat I think Chris is "Chris" tmas shopping!!!

Where are you......... Father Chris....tmas

Etta Sue Lovely graphics....

I won't be able to post tomorrow, at least not until much later.  I am doing my daughter's family ironing which has built up as she's been very ill for the last few weeks. Phil is bringing a load over in the car in the morning...She had some more tests today and I do pray the right help will soon be given as Phil and I agree she's getting much worse.

Janet and Liz I am thinking of you both as I feel this heartache for my daughter.  We are sisters in Christ.  If one suffers we all suffer. Amen!....Beth, Wendy and Helen, our daughters.

Goodnight brothers and sisters.
God Bless.
Jenny.

She said the hotel she and her family are staying at had no heat and it is very cold there. She is working at a school for 200 deaf and blind children teaching the American Sing Language and how to cook for themselves.

i told her that we all miss her very much. She said she gets to come back to the states for a couple of weeks for Christmas. The family will be in Utah for that time.

Just wanted to let you all know how much she misses all of you.

Jenny - how do you pronounce tmas?  After all, I do want to call people by their right names.
Etta Sue - that's a fantastic XMas tree on your post!
Liz - I think you'll relate - I've got three stacks of boxes right behind me as I sit here at the computer!

It's nice to see those who have stopped by today.  I know that we're missing so many of our friends.  I pray that all is well with everyone.

Let's sing about the love of our God...

The Love of God
(Click to hear music)

The Love of God is greater far
than tongue or pen could ever tell
It goes beyond the highest star
and reaches to the lowest hell.
The guilty pair, bowed down with care,
God gave His son to win
His erring child He reconciled
and pardoned from his sin.

(chorus)
Oh, Love of God, how rich and pure!
How measureless and strong!
It shall forevermore endure
the saints' and angels' song.

Could we with ink the oceans fill
and were the skies of parchment made,
Were every stalk on Earth a quill
and every man a scribe by trade:
To write the Love of God above
would drain the oceans dry;
Nor could the scroll contain the whole
tho stretched from sky to sky.

(chorus)

When worlds of time shall pass away
and Earthly thrones and kingdoms fall,
When men who here refuse to pray
on rocks and hills and mountains call,
God's Love so sure shall still endure
all measureless and strong,
Redeeming grace to Adam's race
the saints' and angels' song.

The Love of God...  and the protection of God.  Boy did we have evidence of that!!!

On Wednesday afternoon, Gene was coming home from Glens Falls after taking one of the seniors to the VA clinic (and left him there).  There is a stretch of road called "the dip" that goes way down and then way up again.  Leading into the dip is a 45 degree turn, with no visibility of anything beyond the turn until you get about half way around it.

Just as he was ready to start the actual turn, the car slid all the way straight across the road to the left, winding up snug against a snowbank, at a dead stop, facing down the hill.  At this point, he could see a sheriff's car facing him just below the top of the hill and a car completely off the road in snowbank.  If he had continued around the turn there's no way he could have avoided hitting the deputy's car head on.

He crawled across the seat and got out to see if the other driver was hurt, and the other driver came toward him asking if he was OK.  When both men saw the other was fine, they both uttered the only thing possible...  Thank the Lord!  It took only a few seconds for both of them to recognize a fellow Christian as they continued to praise God.  When the deputy came back from moving his car to a more visible and safer location, he said, "What is this, a prayer meeting?"  Both Gene and the other driver said, "You'd better believe it!"

Turns out this fellow is a member of a local C&MA and was going a little later to Wednesday night prayer meeting and he was determined to witness to just how great our Lord is.  Gene assured him this incident would be reported also this Sunday at our church service.

Proof that it was the hand of the Lord is the fact that the road where Gene slid perfectly sideways was completely dry.  Not wet, no ice, nothing.  I'm convinced he didn't slide but was carried to the other side of the road.

Praise The Lord!
