Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Heh, welcome home Jane.  So.......how's Oregon feel about now?  It always takes me awhille to unwind and actually get to a resting place after I've been gone.  You knowhow much I travel. lol  But you know what I mean.  I like your new picture.

I went to Walmart again today.  I had to buy a crate for the puppies.  They've been sleeping in their playpen with mom, but we're trying to adjust them to being without her, in case she goes to her new home next week.

TBEAR!  Happy early birthday nice lady.  I'm really glad you're here with us.  You make a wonderful addition to this group of already wonderful people. :D

my grandaughter is here wanting to use MY computer, so guess I'll go and let her check her email. :)

Thank you Pat I sure am glad you did that. Can't you just delte the name.?

I could delete the name but I've banned him completely meaning the name and address and I.P. too.    So I didn't want to delete it in case he tried again.

I have created a new user called Test2 that shows now so Satan doesn't.

God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen
(Click to hear music)

Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy
that will be for all people. For today in the town of David
a Savior has been born to you; He is Christ the Lord.
Luke 2:10-11

Words & Music: Traditional English

God rest ye merry, gentlemen, let nothing you dismay,
Remember Christ our Savior was born on Christmas Day;
To save us all from Satan?s power when we were gone astray.

Refrain
O tidings of comfort and joy, comfort and joy;
O tidings of comfort and joy.

In Bethlehem, in Israel, this blessed Babe was born,
And laid within a manger upon this blessed morn;
The which His mother Mary did nothing take in scorn.

Refrain

From God our heavenly Father a blessed angel came;
And unto certain shepherds brought tidings of the same;
How that in Bethlehem was born the Son of God by name.

Refrain

"Fear not, then," said the angel, "Let nothing you afright
This day is born a Savior of a pure Virgin bright,
To free all those who trust in Him from Satan's power and might."

Refrain

The shepherds at those tidings rejoiced much in mind,
And left their flocks a-feeding in tempest, storm and wind,
And went to Bethl?em straightaway this blessed Babe to find.

Refrain

But when to Bethlehem they came where our dear Savior lay,
They found Him in a manger where oxen feed on hay;
His mother Mary kneeling unto the Lord did pray.

Refrain

Now to the Lord sing praises all you within this place,
And with true love and brotherhood each other now embrace;
This holy tide of Christmas all others doth deface.

Refrain

OH, yes.....a couple of people were mentioning Firefix.  You may recall I was really having problems in the gallery and unable to post.  I still can't with Firefox, but one of the extensions you can download for it is a little thing called "view this page in IE".  You can find it on the extensions page.   I use Firefox for everywhere else on CP......and it is a lot faster, Etta Sue...then I go to the gallery, and right click on the page somewhere.  The drop down menu includes the extension you downloaded.  After I open it in IE, I can post and upload pictures.

Long paragraph.  Does it make sense?  Email me if you want.       Nita

Hi everyone.  I have really had an interesting day.  I woke up about 5 am and couldn't sleep so decided to go ahead and get up.  Did some chores, did my daily devotionals  and then cleaned out the closet in my office (I have shelves installed in the closet and they were a mess).  I then went to coffee but left early to go to Fry's at the mall to get an adapter and ran another errand.  I was due at the church at 10 am and made it in time.  We had our cantata practice with the 10 piece orchestra and was that ever enjoyable.  The musicians were all pros and the music is beautiful based on a lot of the traditional carols.

I got home a little after twelve and a couple of hours later my new friend came over to help with all the computer problems I had yesterday and set up the dual monitors.  He checked what I had done yesterday and then disconnected something and had me start the computer.  It came on all right but smoke immediately bellowed up and I quickly pulled the power cord.  A couple of the wires on the floppy disk drive had burned up and he said the floppy drive must have been faulty.  He cut off the burned wires and had me start of the computer and all seemed to be OK.   We got the monitors installed so that was the first problem solved.

Then he tried to get my laptop wireless connections to work but had no success.  He fixed the screen resolution on my daughter computer and then left with some of Pat's caramel corn.  I then called the Toshiba tech support and spent over an hour with a very nice fellow in Canada and we tried a bunch of things without any success.  He then got me connected with the level 2 tech support but he had nothing else to offer other than to suggest that I needed to use the restore disk to put the computer back in factory condition.  Before I was going to do that I contacted my son and in five minutes he walked me through a few steps and I was once again connected to the wireless network.  So all of the computers are once again working well and I will be able to sleep tonight.

Speaking of the cantata, our son is planning to attend tomorrow.  This will be the first time he has been in a church in over 16 years.  He lost his 7 month old son to SIDS and took his anger out on God.  I am just praying that the Holy Spirit is working to soften his heart to bring him back to a relationship with Christ.  I feel this is a big step forward and I feel a sense of joy in my heart tonight.

Tbear, I also want to join with the others who have wished you a very happy birthday tomorrow.  I sure understand waiting until after the weekend to go out as we have the same problem around here in trying to get in a restruarant on the weekends.  Enjoy your night out.

Jane, glad to see you are home safely and I hope you can get rested up this weekend.  I am sorry that you weren't able to connect with your doctor and have to anticipate his call for another day.  It sounds like you about wore yourself out but sure hope you had a good time with your family in California.

Etta Sue, it sounds like you and Jerry had a very nice time with your son and his wife.  You all got an early start for the holidays.

Papa John, we are suppose to have some snow but no accumulation and also some very cold weather but just for a short time.  I don't think we likely will see a white Christmas here.

Marilyn, hope your son was able to help you with transportation today.  How long will your car be in the shop?  Hope you get your browser situation solved soon.

Sonja, thanks for the devotional today.  Revelations is such an interesting book.

Carrie, you certainly had a busy schedule today.

Guess I had better stop writing and read the other discussions here, work my crossword puzzle on the web and read the newspapers as it will soon be bedtime.  I enjoyed all of the postings today.

Mary's Boy Child
(Click to hear music)

Words & Music by Jester Hairston

Long time ago in Bethlehem
So the Holy Bible say
Mary's Boy Child, Jesus Christ
Was born on Christmas Day

Hark, now hear the angels sing
"New King's born today
And man will live forevermore
Because of Christmas Day."

While shepherds watched their flocks by night
They saw a bright new shining star
And heard a choir from heaven sing
The music came from afar
Hark, now hear the angels sing,
"New King's born today
And man will live forevermore
Because of Christmas Day."

Now Joseph and his wife Mary
Came to Bethlehem that night
They found no place to bear her Child
Not a single room was in sight,
By and by they found a little nook
In a stable all forlorn
And in a manger cold and dark
Mary's little Boy Child was born.

Trumpets sound and angels sing
Listen to what they say
That man will live forevermore
Because of Christmas Day.

Pat, thank you for that song, "Mary's Boy Child"
I have heard it many times in the last several years but didn't know the title of it.  It's a lovely song.
Hope everyone is doing well, and about ready to celebrate Christmas.  I look forward to the Christmas morning service at church, it is always so special.  At our former church we had a good one too, it was an evening service, candlelight and Lord's Supper.  So inspirational, with the music and all.
Blessings to all of you during this Christmas season.
Love, Janice
This is the day the Lord has made, we will rejoice and be glad in it.   Ps 118:24

Pat

Janice, it's so good to see you posting this evening and glad you liked that song.

It's time to close the door and put Etta Sue's cat out!  ;D
