JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

NEW ORLEANS — Last year, doctors told a 41-year-old New York woman who had been bedridden with meningitis and other ailments that she should prepare for the worst. Rather than resign herself to her fate, she boarded a train to New Orleans — her illness does not permit her to fly — and made an offering at the tomb of Marie Laveau, the "voodoo queen" who died in 1881 but has re-emerged as the center of a far-reaching religious movement.

      Morning Devotional...

For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of His Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by His life.
      Romans 5:10

We rightly value what the Lord Jesus did for us in His suffering and death on the Cross.

Thereby we have been delivered from the righteous penalty of our wrong-doing, for He "died for our sins" (1 Cor. 15:3).

We equally rejoice, however, in the truth that our ongoing, daily salvation from the power of sin is vitally linked with His unceasing, high priestly work of interceding for us (Heb. 7:25).

For happy, useful Christian lives, we must appropriate both aspects of His work for us.
      --G. Hall

Before the throne of God above,
      I have a strong, a perfect plea,
A great High Priest, whose name is Love,
who ever lives and pleads for me.

No, no, no.  Please dear lady, I didn't mean for my comment to sound the way you took it.  I meant it the way I wrote it only.

I just thought of something.  Those of us with four stars are in fact Seniors.  I guess the five stars are for those now in their "Second childhood" ;D

Pat - lovely devotional sis. 'Consider the Apostle and High Priest of our profession, Christ Jesus.'

      Welcome to CP Neil.

      Iain

'Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.'

      Hebrews Chapter 11 Verse 1

We look every which way for evidence in order that we may be convinced that what we believe and hope for is true.

The Lord in His love and mercy has provided all the evidence that we need for this life and it is contained in the scriptures of the Old and New Testaments.

True faith takes God at His Word. Nothing added, nothing subtracted, no ifs and no buts. Our duty in this life is to honour our God and to enjoy Him in all that we do.

Our souls must be steeped in His Word for us to enjoy the benefit of His counsel and wisdom.

Whatever God has said will be done.

There is nothing in heaven or in earth that can thwart His purposes. If God has given me a promise then I can be fully persuaded that it will come to pass.

Days, weeks and months may pass by with little sign of it happening, but it shall be all the sweeter when the time is right for it to be fulfilled. He does all things well and that includes the delays.

Listen to what the Apostle wrote about Abraham's faith. 'Who against hope believed in hope...' 'He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God; And being fully persuaded that, what He had promised, He was able also to perform.'

I have found that whenever I have received a promise through God's Word everything in my life seems to contradict the fulfilling of it. There seems to be no possible way of it ever coming to pass!

I look for external evidence and my spirit sinks. My soul or is it my reason and mind want more than just His Word. Oh to be sure that what I am doing is God's Will.

To be sure that my salvation is true. To be sure that come the days when my last breath will be taken that all will be well with my soul.

Many such conflicts plague believers day in and day out. Each day is a struggle to keep above the waves of doubt that seem to be a permanent part of life.

Fervent prayer is made for security and for assurance, yet the evidence required is before them! God's Word is true.

      He remains faithful!

The darkest hour is just before the dawn and often it will seem that the knife must be put to the throat of the promise before He brings His Word to pass.

Husbands, wives, sons, daughters, brothers and sisters will let us down from time to time but God will never fail us. He keeps His promises.

      His word is sure.

Friend, even our unbelief cannot stop God's Word coming to pass! Is the promise that you are waiting to be fulfilled in your life more difficult for God to perform than His work of creation?

There are times when we are so taken up with our own immediate problems and cares that we can be quick to point the finger at God and blame Him for the catastrophes that come our way.

Even our disappointments have been ordered by Him. They are as much a part of His plan as the greatest blessings that we receive. He does not make mistakes!

Let us become spiritual detectives, searching the evidence provided in order that we may glean a golden harvest for our needy souls.

Take God at His Word today and bid farewell to doubts and fears.

I do not know what God has planned for me today, but I am confident that it will be good.I have often let my Best Friend down but I am confident that my Best Friend will never let me down. He knoweth the way that I take. Lead on dear Lord, lead on!

      LOL

      Good-Morning everyone from England.

Pat Thanks for the devotional.  I noticed a tap in re voodoo.  I am amazed some folks still believe that "mumbo jumbo" when we have the Truth in Jesus Christ. I pray for them, they are taking a short-cut to hell. I do pray for all Christians working for the Lord in this area.

      Ria Hallo zuster. schrijven later...O.K.?

I was reading my Bible while I waited, and waited and waited for my modem to get going this morning.  The Manufacturer is sending me C.Ds of new Modem update.

Anyway one verse shone out to me and I had a little chuckle.  May I share with you all?........

;)and the times of this ignorance God winked at; ;)
but now commandeth all men everywhere to repent. (Acts 17:30)

Isn't God good?  I saw Him 'wink' at me.  I felt His nearness in that moment. He knew just what I needed as I had asked Him this morning to come near to me.  He is so real.  So loving and forgiving.  When we repent He "winks" at us, just like a loving father.

For anyone who is hurting today and comes this way, please know that our God reigns ......His Name is Jesus and He wants to bring joy into your life.  All at C.P. know Him as Saviour and will be glad to pray for you ......just ask.

Jenny, Thanks for the verse about God winking at us.  I had never heard it expressed that way  before.

Hi everyone.  I wasn't feeling too good last night so went to bed pretty early and as a result got up early this morning.  Glad to say I am feeling better today.  This is the day we have to take my sister-in-law to the airport so she can return to her home in Kansas City, Missouri.  We have surely enjoyed her visit.  Last evening she and my wife put up the Christmas tree and decorated the house.  I will be sharing some of the pictures in the new challenge for December.  It is the first time since they were children living at home that they have done this together.  Everything looks very nice.

Pat, your devotional points out how thankful we should be to God that he has provided the "high priest" in Jesus Christ to intercede for our sins.   Iain, your devotional points out to me once again how we should just accept the Bible as it is written.  God has done and will do what he says in the Bible.

Ria, so sorry to hear that your dad has pnumonia.  That can be very serious for older folks and especially for those in a weakened condition.  I will be praying for him and for you and your family today that God will place he healing hand on him and restore him to health.

Jenny, do hope you will get your computer fixed shortly and that the disks you will be getting will do the job.  It is very frustrating when the machines don't work as they are suppose to work.

      Good to see everyone posting.

      FONT SIZE ON CHRISTIAN PHOTOGRAPHERS

A couple of months ago, we enlarged the font size of the text on CP.  The default size is almost the same now as font size 4.

With that in mind, please remember that if you click on the size button, the default for the software is font size 2 and so if you don't change that "2" to a "4", you are making your post's text very small.

It's best to refrain from using that size button unless you are specifically wanting to use it for some special post.

God is a loving God.  He created us for HIS pleasure.  I know when I am loved, I feel warm fuzzies and I feel good.  I don't remember ever leaving my church's worship without feeling good.  If I were to feel uncomfortable after hearing my minister preach every time, I probably wouldn't go back.  I cry nearly every service but they are tears of joy because I have received the message that was said into my heart.  You can see more about Park Chapel Christian Church here.

I had a strong urge to clean house and put out my Christmas stuff today.  Then Ivalou called and we are going shopping and having Chinese for lunch.  I like that alternative better.

I agree with this!  I feel good when I am at church.  I have been to churches and felt very uncomfortable and didn't go back.  They just aren't meant for me.  I think God will lead you to the right church even if it takes you visiting 20 churches.
