Morning Devotional...

Spiritual Warfare and Sin:
The Cleansed Conscience

Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having
our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.

--Hebrews 10:22

What a relief to find the writer to the Hebrews encouraging us to "draw near to God with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience" (Hebrews 10:22).

A sprinkled conscience--surely this is a gracious thing for men and women in the world to know!  One of the most relieving, enriching, wholesome, wondrous things we can know is that sudden sense of the lifting of the burden as the conscience goes free-God giving freedom to that conscience which has been evil, diseased and protesting.

Peter wrote about this and called it "the pledge of a good conscience toward God. It saves you by the resurrection of Jesus Christ" (1 Peter 3:21).  This is the kind of conversion I believe in-when your sins are cleansed and forgiven through the blood of the Lamb, you will know it!...

A transaction has taken place within the human spirit. The heart suddenly knows itself clean and the burden lifts from the mind and there is a true sense that heaven is pleased and God is smiling and the sins are gone.

A transaction within the human spirit-that is the kind of forgiveness I believe in!
Dr. Tozer in Echoes from Eden, 65-66.

"Lord, I'm overwhelmed this morning with this 'sense that heaven
is pleased and God is smiling and the sins are gone.' I fall on my
face before You in heartfelt worship. Amen."

Yesssss!! What a relief to know that Darrel is back home!  Thanks, Janet, for the thorough report <and no it was not a snore>.  We do serve an AWESOME GOD!

I'm looking forward to seeing/reading more good reports here today ... I KNOW God answers prayer and He is in total control of ALL things.  All we have to do is let go and let God work everything for HIS glory.

See y'all later ... Happy December all y'all.   :D

Ruth Ann Bice

Good morning, friends, here's another answer to prayer happening as I speak! Yesterday the doctor told me to abandon the wheelchair and begin walking except in big stores and malls. He says I may be able to begin wearing my shoe in another month. This is six months after the fall, so I was really tired after walking in the ofice building yesterday, but thoroughly enjoyed the surprised looks and happy comments from friends who work with me as they saw me on my feet. I was also taken aback by my feelings of being so tall. It felt strange to not be looking up at everyone.

Y'all have a good day in our Lord.

Ruth Ann
...his compassions fail not.  They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.

Jane, hello, Nice to see you, I have to say your right about God being in the healing business.

As of yesterday I got a quick call from my little sister, who sounded sober and was ok, she only Gave me a minute but I had enough time to witness God's love for her, I really had only a few miuntes, but she is alive and still calling me..  Thanks be to God.

Ruth Ann, It is so nice to hear you are on your feet again, God Bless you and don't overdo it..

All my prayers and love to all of you hear today as you come and go..

I do apologise for being so long in posting.  I was sorry to hear that Janet's husband was taken into hospital, but relieved that he is home now.  I can't find the report that Jane mentions, can anyone direct me to it?

Thanks for the devotional Pat, as the psalmist stated - "Blessed is he whose sins are forgiven."

Anyways - I do hope to be more regular with posting in the future.

Anthony.

Janet

Good morning!  The world is looking even brighter today--Darrel had a good night's rest and is feeling good today.  It will be hard to make him behave himself and not do too much too soon.

My friend Pat and my sister are taking Beth to Dodge today (I just got her into Pat's car) for her appointments.  I'm praying for a good report.  It is such a blessing to have friends and family who will step in and help us out when we are in need.  Bless them real good, Lord.  :)

Another praise report!!  I left in such a dither that I failed to pick up my meds, and I need the blood pressure med quite a bit.  I began to get a headache and thought "uh-oh!".  So I called here to Dr. Plumlee and he called my scrips in to a pharmacy just down the stret from the hospital.  When I walked in to get them, the nice pharmacist asked me if I needed the whole month's worth, or just a few to get me by until I came home.  I told him I really only needed a few, but I was perfectly willing to buy the month's supply, as I will be needing them anyway.  But he said no, he didn't want to interrupt my usual supply, he would just give me five of each, would that be enough?  I assured him it would be, and then---------he didn't even charge me for them!!!  Can you believe that?  I was so blessed!  You know, God has kids all over the place, and they are such nice people!  Thank you, Lord!

And Pat told me when she came to get Beth this morning that someone from the church is bringing supper to us tonight.  Oh, how I love my church family; my friends here on CP, and Diane, what blessings God pours out on us in abundance!  I am used to doing everything myself and never asking for help; and it just blesses my soul to know there are those who are willing to help if we let the need be known.

Anyway----Ruth Ann, I am so glad for you to be back on your feet!  And thank you for that glimpse into the world of the wheelchair bound people; I'll bet most of us had never thought of that.  May your healing continue, and even accelerate.  I love you.

Hey, Anthony!  Good to see you back; I have missed you.  I have posted a few pictures of Abby in the Gallery, if you want to see how she is growing.

I must get myself made presentable and go get Darrel's prescriptions filled.  See you all later.

It's so good to read your post Janet.  I'm so glad that Darrel is feeling a lot better.

I'm off to a Senior's Luncheon so I'll not be here till later.

Thank you Marilyn for giving the link to the report.  Dear Janet, what a trying time for you all, it is good to know that God is with us in the high and lows of life.  I trust that Darrell will continue to feel stronger every day.

Pat, have a good senior lunch.  I've never eaten a senior before - it sounds like it could be a bit tough  :o

Anyway, God bless all.  See y'all  later.

Anthony.

Larry Hanna

Hi everyone.  After a couple of days with some serious problems being discussed, it was nice to read the postings late last night and today and see the praise reports, incluidng Alma's posting in the pray section.

Janet, I am delighted that Darrel is feeling good today but as not at all surprised.  The blood is flowing again and the heart is functioning.  After a day of rest and recovery and letting the catheter insertiion point to heal he will probably be feeling better than he has for a long time.  I found that these type of problems usually come on over a period of time and you don't really notice the decline until the pain starts.  I am one of those people who almost always experience angina pain in my arm and shoulder  and then when it gets back it is a burning in my chest.  As I am sure Darrel, and anyone experiencing angina, will know is that when the pain gets bad you know it.  However, each of us is differnt.  You are the one now who needs to get some rest.  So delighted that your church is stepping forward with a meal tonight.  Also hope Beth gets some good reports.  I am glad you didn't have to take her today so you could stay with Darrel.

Marilyn, I use Skype and it is a great program.  Just yesterday they added a video feature of their own and my friend, Rod, and my son spent sometime last evening testing it out.  If you have a webcam the video works great.  However, the computer to computer calling feature of Skype, which is free worldwide, is a wonderful feature and usually works with a nice clear signal.

Ruth Ann, know it must seem strange to have suddenly "grown up" again so you can see things at a different height.  It sounds like your treatment plan the last 6 months have paid off.  Are you using a walker for stability?

Hi Anthony, Karmat, Jeanne and Jane.

Pat, thanks for the good devotional today.

Think it is time for my nap and then need to get to the library to pick up a book for which I am preparing a book review for a local magazine at the request of the lady from the library who spoke to our computer user's group.

Hi all!

I am so happy to read Janet's post that Darrell is home.  And Larry's post is encouraging for Darrell.  Also happy that Janet has someone else to take Beth today and the church bringing in meals for Darrell and her.  Janet, you need your rest.....SO REST!!

I read the posts earlier but it got close to 11 a.m. and I had a 'date' with Aaron, my great-nephew, for lunch.  Before lunch, he wanted to go to his bank and then to Wal~Mart for some things.  We ate at Chili's and I had a great Ceasars Salad.

So I am in for the day now.

I have some sore muscles from my chiropractor visit yesterday.  After I am up and walking, it tends to leave, thank God.

I did put my red bows on my white deck...maybe the only Christmas decorations this year...we will see!

Now I am off to getting caught up on what I do on the web and then make Christmas cards for family and friends.

God Bless You All

Not that we can "gang up on" God, as though more or more fervent prayer would move the eternal will - but He privileges us to be a part of His work in this world through our prayers.  It's so great a privilege!  I pray, Father, for Darrel, Janet, Beth, Diane, et al.  I pray You'll give them Your peace.  I pray You'll keep Darrel safe from further damage while they travel.  I pray You'll give the doctors special insight into the problem and special wisdom in dealing with it.  I pray, finally, that You'll use all of these intense things to accomplish some grea good.  Oh teach them and bless them!  Oh teach and bless us all!  Our eyes are upon You, our Father, waiting upon Your mercy and goodness in all things through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Jane Walker

I'm late getting here but you can be sure I am praying for Darrel and Janet ... Father keep Your arms around them and give the needed wisdom and compassion to all involved in his care.

Certainly sorry to hear that Darrel has had the setback.  It is not too unusual for the stents to block up soon after insertion.  Several times after having had angioplasties or stents placed I would have pain and had to be readmitted.  They then would do another angiogram to see what the problem was.  In my case the artery or stent had not closed and the pain subsided.  It is good they flew him back where he can get proper monitoring and hopefully he was not having a heart attack.  I am praying for he and Janet and all the family at this time of great concern.

I think I already said this, Larry but you can't imagine how helpful your posts are.  Even though I went through all this with Jack so many times, just to read from you who has been through this so often sure is helping to many of us.

Since getting the word from Pat about Darrel's setback I have had the family much on my mind and in my prayers.  I pray for strength, comfort and peace for them all.

I can't speak from personal experience about Darrel and what's happening with him, but I do know what Janet is going through.   It's so difficult, even knowing the Lord, and I always wonder how does anyone cope who doesn't have Him to turn to.

Amen Jeanne how do they cope.

There are times when Gilbert tells me" mom you don't get upset about much of anything anymore, Why" "Well Son, there isn't  much that upsets me anymore and when it does I just talk to God about it, and then I have peace". He just doesn't hear it when I do get upset. I don't dump on him anymore.

I am so sorry to hear of Darrel's setback. but so glad that he is in the Great Physician's hands.

I went to Winco shopping today and I couldn't believe how much I spent. Wow that really cut in on my gift buying.

Jeanne Lee, I don't think I've mentioned how glad I am to "see" you back, and that I've missed you!!!!

My thoughts and prayers are with Darrell and Janet this evening.  Thanks for posting in Beth, and letting us know.  How did things go with you today?  (or was it yesterday?)

Gotta watch that spending Marilyn, it'll bite ya everytime!!! ;)

Janet

Good evening to all of you from a very weary Janet.  It doesn't sound as if you noticed Beth's post telling you that we didn't fly back to Amarillo after all.  They called his cardiologist and he didn't think this is life-threatening; so advised admitting him to our little local hospital for observation until tomorrow.  I had already rushed home, packed, and had just thrown the suitcases into the car when the phone rang, and they said "you don't have to pack!"

Darrel is resting pretty well.  The pain returns every time he stands up or walks around a little bit.  Thank you, Larry, for explaining what you went through and felt; as Pat said, it is very helpful.  Dr. Friesen said he thinks the pain is caused by the small vessels at the bottom of the heart which had been starved for blood, now they are getting it, and the reaction is pain.  If that is it, then it should subside, I should think.

I have been awake since 2 this morning, and I'm fading fast.  They said I could stay the night with Darrel, but he insisted I come home and get a good night's rest.  I hope I can!

Our pastor just got back to town, they had been gone since Monday, and it was so good to see him walk into Darrel's room, and to have him pray with us.

I think the ladies kept the dinner they planned for tonight and will bring it tomorrow night, if Darrel is home again by then.  Pat took me out and fed me, so that was really nice.  One of the fellows from church stayed with Darrel until we got back.

I will say again..........we so appreciate all your prayers and concern.  Thank you, and we love you!

Janet, please do try to get some sleep.  Darrel is in the best hands - both physical and spiritual, and you need the rest.  I know what a wonderful feeling it is to see the pastor arrive and somehow his prayers seem to help even more.

I'm off to bed now and you should be too!   <3
