Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Mike, sounds like great food!  I've never cooked Chinese.

Hi Soni!

Alma, you are a busy lady!  Maybe take a photo of the horses out near the hole you have to cut open for their water?  Would love to see that.

This is a hymn I've been humming most of the day so I came to listen to it and sing along with the music.  Then I thought that I'd share it in here with all of you.

Give of Your Best to the Master[/size]
(Click to hear music)

Author:  Howard B. Grose, 1851-1939
Musician:  Charlotte A. Barnard, 1830-1869

Out of all your gifts ye shall offer every
heave offering of the LORD, of all the best thereof,
even the hallowed part thereof out of it.
Numbers 18:29

Give of your best to the Master;
Give of the strength of your youth.
Throw your soul's fresh, glowing ardor
Into the battle for truth.
Jesus has set the example,
Dauntless was He, young and brave.
Give Him your loyal devotion;
Give Him the best that you have.

Refrain

Give of your best to the Master;
Give of the strength of your youth.
Clad in salvation's full armor,
Join in the battle for truth.

Give of your best to the Master;
Give Him first place in your heart.
Give Him first place in your service;
Consecrate every part.
Give, and to you will be given;
God His beloved Son gave.
Gratefully seeking to serve Him,
Give Him the best that you have.

Refrain

Naught else is worthy His love.
He gave Himself for your ransom,
Gave up His glory above.
Laid down His life without murmur,
You from sin's ruin to save.
Give Him your heart's adoration;
Give Him the best that you have.

Refrain

Just stopped by to catch up on everyone, and now heading off to bed.

Pat, thank you for the Carols!  I could listen and sing along to Christmas music every day of the year and never tire of it.

Papa John

It is good to read the posts.  I’m sorry I have been absent a few days.

I just dropped in to say hello and I will try to do better.  We just learned that my brother-in-law is very ill in the hospital still in the emergency room but is being moved into critical care.  His name is Walker and he is 86 years old.  Let’s say a prayer for him.

Ohh, Papa John...  I'm so sorry.  Yes definitely I'll be praying for him.  I'll go now and do that.

Well, the songs today have really been a blessing to me.

My Mother Loved that song: "I Don't Know About Tomorrow," and I often transposed to an alto key and played piano while she sang in her pretty alto voice. I always think of her when I hear the song.

The verse in Lamentations, Pat, is one that ends up one of my favorite passages of scripture. When I found that passage, a few years back, I had gone through some of the difficulties many parents face with single parenting three lively teenagers. No, they weren't AWFUL to me, but I certainly faced many challenges. But, that passage refers me to the truth that His mercies are renewed afresh to us each morning. What a wonderful thought!

I loved the song "Give of Your Best to the Master," as well, Pat. I often played it in times of contemplation and thinking about how our congregation could do more for Him.

Yesterday morning, just before I left Danny, he and I sat down at the keyboard and he strummed his guitar and we sang many of the old songs of the faith for our hosts. What a blessing it was to each of us, and for me a simple means of testimony to an unchurched, but very nice family. Also, they asked me to pray before our Thanksgiving meal, another blessing for me.

Y'all have a good evening. I've been called in to be at work at 6 a.m., so won't get here tomorrow until after work.

Ruth Ann
...his compassions fail not.  They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.

Pat

I'm so glad that you enjoyed the music today, Ruth Ann.

Now, it's time to lock the door.
