Janet: Hello, Friends!  Let's get this going again!  I miss  hearing from all of you! 2025-01-23, 19:26:16

Don: Hey Judy, It's been a long time. Hope you are doing well. 2024-12-02, 22:41:41

JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Oldiesmann: So sorry for your loss Carol. Praying for you and your family :( 2022-05-01, 17:13:05

Carol: My husband Don is with the angels.....Our family was able to hold  ourselves together for the last moments.  Juar rhoufhr you might want to know. 2022-04-29, 23:35:15

Hi everyone.  We are seeing the sun for the first day in several and it is very welcome.

I had a wonderful time this morning at our final practice for singing the Vivaldi "Glory" at church tomorrow.  We had a 9 member orchestra composed for musicians from the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra and they play as you would expect professionals to play.  Our choir director and the wife of the choir director for the Presybterian Church in Athens, GA, (where the Uiversity of Georgia is located) are sharing the solo leads and when one is singing the other is directing.  They have sung and worked together with the Atlanta Symphony Chorus for years, obviously both as soloists and chorus members.  I feel it such a priviledge to be able to sing for the glory of God as this is magnificent music.  I will have more to say tomorrow after we sing it for the congregation.

The devotional thoughts are very good today and I appreciate them everyday.

Marilyn, I expect a lot of us can relate to your son and do hope he will be feeling better shortly.

Ria, I have decided to stay with Paint Shop Pro 7 as find it does all that I want to do plus a whole lot more.  I really have never done very much with it.

Etta Sue, what calendar program are you using?  I remember trying to find a freeware calendar program to make up a simple calendar for the Senior Center in the town where my folks lived at the time they were still able to go there.  Your Victorian Dinner sounds great and I look forward to the picture as I remember those from last year.

Carol, hope you brought nothing serious home from California and that you will bounce back quickly.

Pat, sorry to hear that Judy's Norm is not doing so well.  Hope they are able to treat that congestive heart failure and the other problems.

Time to get busy with my daily devotionals as didn't do them this morning.

LILA MAE is 2 YEARS OLD!

Happy Birthday, Lila Mae!

Thanks Pat!

This has been a busy day.  I have been on long enough to get my pictures burned on a cd and then off I go again.  And now I am going to finally get the rest of my tree up.  That's if Mike finds my ornaments.
::)

I may have uncovered the problem with uploading my graphics.  I'm allowed 10 meg and had 11 meg in the directory.  :-[

I've been trying for months to find a way to keep track of how much space I was using - Adelphia says they "don't have that capability yet" for users.  I finally got a brainstorm and did a "select all" of the directory, then copied it and pasted it into a folder on my hard drive.  Then I found out how much the folder held.  Much easier than trying to add the file sizes of each and every file.   ;D

This morning I looked at the snow on the ground and the snow that was falling and decided I'd better get my duties at church taken care of before it got any worse.  We now have over 11 inches of snow and it's still snowing.   Sure looks pretty - from inside, looking out.  ;D

Quote from Jane Walker
QuoteI have to include my echo to your words, BOOTS.  I love it when my Father quietly nudges me in one direction or another ... without my even asking for His advice.    In all the seemingly "small" things of life, He is guiding and leading and holding my hand.

Jane and also to Iain:

Let me add another comment, unless it be taken that I was trying to belittle the will of God.

I think, rather than just seeking the will of God, as I said this morning we must continue to seek God in a deeper, more personal relationship and He will lead and guide us.

I will add this as Iain pointed out "God's will for us is found in the scriptures," so in that respect we certainly should seek His will nothing more or nothing less.

When we allow God to lead and guide us as Jane says in her post, we can look back and see "yes" that was His will for us.

I think of that as looking in the rear view mirror.  Once we can do that we realize "yes it was God's will" all the time, and after the path I was directed to take and I obeyed because I was led, then I can then see clearly His will for me.

Thanks for your comments to my post. :)

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your understanding; In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will direct your paths.

Sleigh Bells
(Click to hear music)

Just hear those sleigh bells jingle-ing
Ring ting tingle-ing too
Come on, it's lovely weather
For a sleigh ride together with you

Outside the snow is falling
And friends are calling "You Hoo"
Come on, it's lovely weather
For a sleigh ride together with you

Giddy-yap giddy-yap giddy-yap
let's go
Let's look at the snow
We're riding in a wonderland of snow

Giddy-yap giddy-yap giddy-yap it's grand
Just holding your hand
We're gliding along with the song
Of a wintry fairy land

Our cheeks are nice and rosy
And comfy cozy are we
We're snuggled up together like two
Birds of a feather would be

Let's take the road before us
And sing a chorus or two
Come on, it's lovely weather
For a sleigh ride together with you

There's a birthday party at the home of Farmer Gray
It'll be the perfect ending of a perfect day
We'll be singing the songs we love to sing without a single stop
At the fireplace while we watch the chestnuts pop
Pop! Pop! Pop!

There's a happy feeling nothing in the world can buy
When they pass around the coffee and the pumpkin pie
It'll nearly be like a picture print by Currier and Ives
These wonderful things are the things
We remember all through our lives

I sometimes think we should just seek God, not His will.  The reason I say this is,  His will is not something to be known apart from him.  When we get to know Him, and talk to Him; someway he will guide our steps.

just seek God, not His will
Man Boots, that's HEAVY!  But GOOD!  :P

GO CATS

UPDATE: KSU upsets OU 35-7
OU is no longer undefeated!

Carol

Sarah:  Great for K State!  You sound a little excited!

Pat S:  I will pray for Judy McKenna's husband.  They have gone through so much!

I feel so weak but really not bad - it has to be a virus so am staying home from church.  It isn't the flu as the symptoms are different but I sure don't want to come down with the flu as it is really churning through our area.  We had flu shots.

Thanks for all of the songs as they are so nice to listen to today especially.  Carol

I just went to check the latest on the snow and temperature and discovered that Gene is watching...  The Muppets!

The snow seems to have tappered off to light flurries and the temperature is holding at 13 F (-11C).

Since you said you'd be celebrating Lila Mae's birthday tomorrow that still gives me time to say:

Our Grand Piano is being played by a pianist.

As opposed to be played by, umm, say, a turkey leg?

I am so sorry, I just couldn't resist.  I bet the evening was something to behold!!!
