Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

"There is nothing little in God."
~C. H. Spurgeon~

Morning Devotional...

The Holy Spirit:
Confirming Signs

And they went out and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them and confirming the word through the accompanying signs.
--Mark 16:20

Such words as these in the second chapter of Hebrews stand as a rebuke to the unbelieving Christians of our day: "God also bearing them witness, both with signs and wonders, and with divers miracles, and gifts of the Holy Ghost, according to his own will." A cold Church is forced to "interpret" such language. She cannot enter into it, so she explains it away. Not a little juggling is required, and not a few statements for which there is not scriptural authority, but anything will do to save face and justify our half-dead condition. Such defensive exegesis is but a refuge for unbelieving orthodoxy, a hiding place for a Church too weak to stand.

No one with a knowledge of the facts can deny the need for supernatural aid in the work of world evangelization. We are so hopelessly outclassed by the world's superior strength that for us it means either God's help or sure defeat. The Christian who goes out without faith in "wonders" will return without fruit. No one dare be so rash as to seek to do impossible things unless he has first been empowered by the God of the impossible. "The power of the Lord was there" is our guarantee of victory.
Dr. Tozer in Paths to Power, 12-13.

"May the power of the Lord be with me in my ministry today, so that I might not be 'outclassed by the world's superior strength.' Amen."

Today's Verse

A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.

Jesus Is the Sweetest Name I Know
(Click to hear music)

Thy Name is as ointment poured forth.
Song of Solomon 1:3

Words & Music: Lela B. Long

There have been names that I have loved to hear,
But never has there been a name so dear
To this heart of mine, as the Name divine,
The precious, precious Name of Jesus.

Refrain
Jesus is the sweetest name I know,
And He's just the same as His lovely Name,
And that's the reason why I love Him so;
Oh, Jesus is the sweetest name I know.

There is no name in earth or heav'n above,
That we should give such honor and such love
As the blessed Name, let us all acclaim,
That wondrous, glorious Name of Jesus.

Refrain

And some day I shall see Him face to face
To thank and praise Him for His wondrous grace,
Which He gave to me, when He made me free,
The blessed Son of God called Jesus.

Refrain

Happy Valentine's Day!  Lovely graphics....and thanks for the devotional, Pat.

Cold this morning....I had to take out the garbage at 7 A.M.  Even Misty refused to stay outside ... and she has a fur coat!

Not much new here, so won't bore with details.  The devotional made me wonder what will  happen to so many churches who have sold out...heard a Baptist Minister on TV use the term 'Mother/Father' God, during a marriage ceremony!  Then there is the movie about a Christian Missionary, being played by a Gay actor.  Think I am too old for this .... !

Walk securely.

Thanks Pat. I guess I beat you to it.

Thanks for the devotional this morning.  I am so thankful for the Holy Spirit's work in my life. I have had so many people call my job a My Ministry, since I am out there everyday helping others who con not help themselves. The call I got from Pastor Leroy's wife Joanne was no coincidence.

QuoteMay the power of the Lord be with me in my ministry today, so that I might not be 'outclassed by the world's superior strength.' Amen."

Today I am only working for Jan, I will be working for her 1 day per week instead of 2 but for more hours. This afternoon I have to go to Eureka to sign up for the Food for Seniors program I will be taking some to Fay since she can't get out to sign up for herself.

Have a great day y-all.

Oh, dear!!  :-[ :-[ :-[ :uglystupid: :clobber: :idiot:  Dare I even show my face in here, after forgetting to post the NEM last night?  I'm so sorry, Pat.  I thought of it while at my meeting, but after I got home.....not another thought!  :-[ :-[ :-[

Darrel is out at Beth's working on that ramp.  They are to bring the cement this afternoon, which is really good, because the forecast is for much colder weather arriving about Thursday.

Carol, Beth is still hospitalized.  This is the fourth week, but she MAY be released this week, so we are scurrying around trying to get things ready for her.  Her power chair has arrived, so that will be a real blessing for her, meaning more mobility.  She is having a really hard time getting around now.

Our Sweetheart banquet is tonight, so I want to get my nails and hair done (I do them myself) and make sure my red dress is pressed and ready.  We are looking forward to a lovely evening with others of our church family.

I am continuing in prayer for Cornelia, that the implants will be done without added stress and that she can soon return home to her loving family.

I must go visit Beth.......I stopped by after exercise, but she was in the shower.  I picked up a bag of what I thought were her dirty clothes, but when I went to put them in the washer, it was some bloody washcloths.  So I must take those back to the hospital.  :-[  Of course you ALL know I never make mistakes, right?  ;) :-[

Now I must go take Darrel to pick up the pickup!  Hehehehe

Good Afternoon:

Happy Valentine's

Janet we all from time to time have those "I forgot days"
One of my co - Workers slept in yesterday, if someone had not covered his school run he would have been 3 hours late getting the children to school.  Now he has 3 alarm clocks.

It is a  sunny day in our part of Ontario.

I am busy doing a little sorting, some of which is going in the garbage that is the best place when you no longer have any use for the items.

Have a great day
Ruth

In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.  Proverbs 3:6

I just got this in my email and thought I'd share it with you all since this is Valentine's Day...

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
John 3:16

When asking a group of children what Valentines Day meant, a little girl replied, "It is giving something to someone who is special to you." Ponder today that God thought you were special to Him! He gave the greatest gift,His Son, to die for you. No matter where you were born, what circumstancesyou find yourself in, or how deep a sinner you have become, you can possess eternal life by believing and accepting Jesus as your personal Saviour and Lord!

Happy Valentine's Day!!
I love the cards from Etta Sue and Marilyn this morning!  <3    <3

Here is something on my calendar for today:

Love is what we really need--Jesus' love and a relationship with him.  Only then can our deepest needs be satisfied.  Francine Rivers

Thanks, Pat, for the devotional thoughts today, and for sharing the thoughts on John 3:16.

Today is a mixture of weather here on the Oregon coast.  Cold, rain, sunshine ... we're supposed to expect overnight freezing so I need to get some wood in for my stove.  Right now it is beautiful sunshine and blue sky.  Guess I'd best get out there while the sun shines, y'think? :)
Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass .... it's about learning to dance in the rain!

-----------------
She had been immediately healed.  Luke 8:47

One of the most touching and instructive of the Savior's
miracles is before us tonight. The woman was very ignorant. She
imagined that virtue came out of Christ by a law of necessity, without
His knowledge or direct will. Moreover, she was a stranger to the
generosity of Jesus' character, or she would not have gone
behind to steal the cure that He was so ready to provide. Misery
should always place itself right in the face of mercy. Had she known
the love of Jesus' heart, she would have said, "I need
only to put myself where He can see me--His omniscience will
teach Him my case, and His love will immediately work my cure."

Victory in Jesus
(Click to hear music)

Words and Music by Eugene. M. Bartlett

I heard an old, old story, How a Saviour came from glory,
How He gave His life on Calvary To save a wretch like me;
I heard about His groaning, Of His precious blood's atoning,
Then I repented of my sins And won the victory.

Chorus:
O victory in Jesus, My Saviour, forever,
He sought me and bought me With His redeeming blood;
He loved me ere I knew Him And all my love is due Him,
He plunged me to victory, Beneath the cleansing flood.

I heard about His healing, Of His cleansing pow'r revealing,
How He made the lame to walk again And caused the blind to see;
And then I cried "Dear Jesus, Come and heal my broken spirit,"
And somehow Jesus came and bro't To me the victory.

Chorus:
O victory in Jesus, My Saviour, forever,
He sought me and bought me With His redeeming blood;
He loved me ere I knew Him And all my love is due Him,
He plunged me to victory, Beneath the cleansing flood.

I heard about a mansion He has built for me in glory,
And I heard about the streets of gold Beyond the crystal sea;
About the angels singing, And the old, redemption story,
And some sweet day I'll sing up there The song of victory.

Chorus:
O victory in Jesus, My Saviour, forever,
He sought me and bought me With His redeeming blood;
He loved me ere I knew Him And all my love is due Him,
He plunged me to victory, Beneath the cleansing flood.

Ruthie

Hi Everyone:

I came back from the Cardiologist earlier where I had some tests done.  ECG and stress test, blood work and chest xray.  The last ECG showed I had too many beats.  I had a holter hook up for 24 hours which showed 14,000 extra beats.   So now the Cardiologist is saying he has to find out why!?    An angiogram and a Echo test coming up next week.   He is saying it could be HARDNING OF THE ARTERIES.   Even though I am health minded and watch everything I eat, this could be the case.  I will find out next week.  I would get little pains and go to the chiropractor.   Well this cardiologist doesn't believe in them.

I would appreciate your prayers.   Thank you.

I forgot to tell you, I got an $85.00 ticket because I went around the corner right near my house.  The sign said NO TURNING 4:00-6:00 P.M.   The cop pulled over 4 cars and we all had to wait until he wrote out 4 tickets.   He just gave me a lecture about NOT OBEYING THE SIGNS.     I said that I didn't know the sign was there!  I asked him when it was put up and he said about 7 months ago!     Oh brother!   God Bless

Janet:  Sorry to hear that Beth has been in hospital for such a long time.  Now it sounds like she will be able to come back though.  Your Sweetheart party sounds nice.  Don is fixing a fish dinner tonight.

Ruthie:  That is a huge fine!  What an odd sign, you have to look at your watch or the clock to see if it is alright to turn instead of watching cars...which is more important.

Etta Sue:  Your pizza date sounds really nice & what a strong young man to accomplish so much.

I installed a Bible software thing & it looks interesting.   It has a library in it and will take some time to study just what is involved.

My cousin's son is a missionary in a muslim country & his wife have worked for years on helping very disabled youngsters - they may be thrown out very soon.  The entire building has been taken over by the politician's daughter & she has taken over hotels as well. We keep waiting for more word on this.  It will be a very sad day if they have to leave these youngsters to a system that doesn't care.

I know how you feel...I go in to the licensing center on Friday to deal with a speeding violation--my first ever--yeah, I blew it, but it was a country road, no cars but mine on the road, I was a bit late...I got spanked, but how I hope for mercy, rather than justice! :-[

Papa John

Well I am dropping in for a minute to give a report.  Things are about the same.  Cornelia had a good day.  She sat up in a chair most of the morning.  She talked with us and did very well.  Tonight she did have some pain from her lungs where they had drawn off fluid and she has coughed a lot.  They did not move her today from special care to a regular room, maybe tomorrow.  They have put off until tomorrow or Thursday putting in the pace maker/ defibrillator.

We continue to pray that she will be better when she gets thepace maker/ defibulator.

Tomorrow her sister from Denver is flying in and Martha will meet her at the airport.  I think her husband will come day after tomorrow.  Our daughter, Beth, has gone back to Knoxville but will come back over this week-end.

I enjoyed the graphics.  I took a big heart shaped baloon which said "I love you" on it to Cornelia tis morning   .  They don't alowl you to take candy or flowers into the Special Care area.

Larry Hanna

Hi everyone.  I am really late tonight.  This was our monthly luncheon at our local senior center, which begins at 11 am.  When I got home I was tired so took a nap.  When I got up I decided to make reservations for a rental car that we will drive to Florida (not sure I can trust my car on a long trip) and in filling out the online reservation I realized I had forgotten to renew my driver's license, which expired on the 12th.

So I quickly looked up the location of the new facility we have in the county for driver's licensing and got there about 30 minutes before they closed.  It only took about 5 minutes to get my new license.  Sure glad I noticed it before I had to show it when we rent the car next week.

The new motherboard arrived today for my desktop computer and my son came over and took the old one out and put in the new one and hooked everything back up.  Unfortunately he got too hot and came down with a migrane headache and had to go home.  Everything was working except the USB 2 card and I reinstalled the software and it is now working.  The only other thing that doesn't seem to be working is my TV/FM card and I will uninstall and reinstall it tomorrow.

Papa John, glad that Cornelia had a good day.  I think having fluid removed was about the most painful thing I have ever had to have done so know that wasn't a pleasant experience for Cornelia.  However, I started feeling much better almost immediately when the fluid was gone.  Hope that will be Cornelia's experience as well.

Ruthie, hope there is nothing seriously wrong with you heart.  Good that they are checking everything out.

I enjoyed all the postings but now my pillow is beckoning so will say goodnight.

Pat
