Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

CREATED BY GOD

The legislatures of some of our states have been considering bills which would insist that any school that teaches the theory of evolution concerning the origin of all things would also be required to present the Biblical account of the creation of all things by God.  For many years evolution has been taught by some as a fact rather than a theory, in spite of man's inability to prove it.  There are so many missing links in the theory of evolution that it takes more gullibility to accept these claims than it takes to believe in God's direct account of how all things came into being.

The Bible tells us that the god of this world, Satan, has blinded the minds of those who believe not, lest the light of the gospel should shine unto them.  Man does not want to accept the simple statement of God's Word, and, therefore, he must seek for some other answer.  This theory of the evolution of all things is the best that he can do.  The very fact that many wll known scientists cannot agree with each other on the question is good evidence that there are many fallacies in their theories.  How precious it is for the believer to just accept by faith the statements of God, and to rest on them.  This is for me.

Faith sees the invisible,
believes the incredible
and recieves
the impossible!

All Things Bright and Beautiful
(Click to hear music)

God saw all that He had made,
and it was very good.
Genesis 1:31

Words: Cecil F. Alexander 1818-1895

Music: "Royal Oak" 17th Century English melody; arranged by Martin F. Shaw, 1915

Refrain
All things bright and beautiful,
All creatures great and small,
All things wise and wonderful:
The Lord God made them all.

Each little flower that opens,
Each little bird that sings,
He made their glowing colors,
He made their tiny wings.

Refrain

The rich man in his castle,
The poor man at his gate,
He made them, high or lowly,
And ordered their estate.

Refrain

The purple headed mountains,
The river running by,
The sunset and the morning
That brightens up the sky.

Refrain

The cold wind in the winter,
The pleasant summer sun,
The ripe fruits in the garden,
He made them every one.

Refrain

The tall trees in the greenwood,
The meadows where we play,
The rushes by the water,
To gather every day.

Refrain

He gave us eyes to see them,
And lips that we might tell
How great is God Almighty,
Who has made all things well.

Dear Janet, thanks for this mornings start up. At least your government or state governors are doing something to get the Bible read in schools. There is more chance of the Koran being read over here in schools than the Bible!

I am reminded of a story told long ago when an old wifey was asked if she truly believed the Bible to be the Word of God. Of course I do was her reply! When pressed further and asked if she truly believed that a large fish had actually swallowed Jonah.

She replied, 'I would have believed it supposing it was written that Jonah had swallowed the large fish!'

Could evolution have created the beauty that we witnessed in SmokeytheDog's stellar rosebud last night?

The lesson for me today?

Take God at His Word, leave all my doubts and fears at the foot of the cross and be fully enveloped in Christ.

With love to you all.

Your brother in Christ

Iain

Good Morning: Janet thanks for the devotional today.

Good Evening Bro. Iain. Good to see you here the last couple of days

Pat how are you feeling? We haven't seen much of you for the last few days, Are you still suffering great pain?

Well today I am going to Eureka to the Chiropractors office for a massage. There is a masage therapist and a physical therapist in his office as well.

Fay's wound isn't healing as it should, it has been 4 months and it is still not closed. "Proud Flesh" is growing through the opening and preventing it from closing. We should find out today what they are going to do about it.

Gloria seems to be doing ok at the nursing home, doing her excersise as she should.

Well that is all the news here there should be some news on Victor Oliver soon, he goes back to court this month.

Good Morning Everyone...

Just a quickie this morning as company is coming in about 3/4 hour and then I have a satellite TV guy coming to put me on that instead of the cable as it's 10.00 less per month and every penny helps.

Thanks for the "start-up" Janet (as Iain has called it).  I found it to be a blessing.

Great to see you online, Alma!  You've been missed.

Great to have you, Iain.  Thanks for keeping in touch and for the emails as well.

Marilyn, things are getting a wee bit more "tame" in my health now.  The spasms are still there but lessening a bit.  This recent flare-up has now been 15 days!  I've been on morphine, demeril and now percocet!!  Feeling a bit like a zombie at times but for 27 years I've experienced this terrible nerve pain since the whiplash accident I had while teaching bus driving in 1979.    I'm glad that the flare-ups don't happen all that often now but when they hit, I'm on my back or just pacing around the house.  Thanks for asking and thanks for missing me.

Greetings you all you beautiful children of God,

Janet, How are you , you sweet lady? Thank you for this mornings devontioal, It is really good..

Pat, I too have missed you too!! We got my daughter moved after all that stuff happening in Nov.. They had those neighbors who were on drugs and thier pit bull dog diembowled my kids cat right in front of my sweet daughter and grand babies, they just stood there  and laughed as my daughter cried and begged them for help..It was more than I can take.. So I took another job even though I work 7 days aweek already and moved them into a 4 bedroom home on  1 1/2 acres.. I pay the bills for my daughter and now the rent is $500.00 more a month.. It has been a little rough. I have been so tired, but Thank God I am able to do it..

Marilyn, How are you? It is so nice to see you..

Etta Sue, I am so pleased to see you also.. God Bless you..

Avoura, Welcome to CP.. This is a wonderful place to spend time with friends.. WELCOME!!

Good morning, All!  Welll, a misunderstanding.  I thought Ivalou said 'tomorrow night' for the Broadway Show...meaning last night but she said, she said 'Tuesday night'.  I even asked her if she thought it would be too much going to Hobby Lobby yesterday and then the show last night.  She thought that was weird for me to say that.  But Ivalou is to get the tickets today and we are suppose to go tonight to downtown Indy....after dark...hope it isn't raining...  I don't drive that much at night any more but we will be fine.  Did I tell you all that we are to see Thoroughly Modern Millie

Great devotions today, Janet.  Between you and Marilyn, I am pooped after I read your posts and read all that you did, done and will do.  Whew!!!

Pat, get well soon.  That is some heavy drugs.  That would knock me flat on my back.  I can take an aspirin before going to bed and sleep as snug as a bug in a rug.  ::)

Alma, Ivalou have been talking about going back to Hawaii but also with two other ladies.  I haven't been to AAA yet to pick up brochures...just in the talking part right now.  But we need to decided which two of the four islands we want to visit and, my personal opinion, with the cost of flying there and back, we should be on the islands at least two weeks.  Which island were you on?  I haven't been to Hawaii since '96...I am overdue

Larry Hanna

Hi everyone from a very foggy Georgia.  I heard this morning that the whole state is covered with fog but it should burn off by noon and then suppose to get pretty warm, up into the 70s.

Pat, will you still have high speed access to the Internet with the satellite?  I switched from satellite to cable about 6 months ago as it was cheaper and their internet high speed was less expensive than the ISP I had been using.  It is going to save me about $600 over the course of 16 months and I just couldn't pass that up.  I really like the cable service as it is greatly improved over what I had before and the internet access is great.  Sure glad to read that you are feeling a little better and hope that situation conintues to improve.  That was some high powered pain medicine you have been taking.

Ian, unfortunately I don't think we are getting the Bible back into our schools.  Recently in a subburb of Atlanta there has been a big uproar over just having a little sticker put into the history books indicating the evoluation isn't the only thing believed about creation.  It has been in court and the school district has spent several million dollars fighting the issue.  It is just getting worse all the time.

Marilyn, hope the massage therapy is helpful to you.  Sorry to hear that Fay isn't healing as she should.

Janet, thought your devotional today was very timely.  Unfortunately it seems that regardless of what the legislature or the people want the courts come along and rule against anything having to do with God.   You certainly had a full day yesterday.  Hope you can get a breath in somewhere today and a little time for relaxation.

Don't think I have anyplace I have to go today so will continue to work on some projects I have.  Yesterday I built a webpage showing the specially painted Sunday School rooms we have at our church for our younger children's Sunday School and Wednesday night programs.  Later I will put in a link so you all can see them.  We have a lady in our church who is an artist and did the paintings.

Hope everyone will have a good day.  Alma, good to see you posting today.  You were posting as I was writing.  It sounds like you are carrying a very heavy load with all of that work.

Welcome Auvoura

Etta Sue, hope your enjoy the play "tonight" and drive safely.  I wouldn't want my wife going into downtown Atlanta at night with another lady but you know your area and sure there will be many other people around.  Be sure and take your cell phone.  Hope the trip to Hawaii works out for you all.

We went to Hawaii in 1977, and again in 1985.  We loved it!  I'd always recommend going bed&breeakfast, as it's the cheapest and best way to become familiar with the area.  Bed & Breakfast Hawaii is available on the internet - and you can even look at some of the places before going.  We particularly love lthe Islans of Kauai, but like the Big Island as well.  They're all great!

We gave a little thought to actually living there.  We did a kind of survey of things - housing, prices, churches, etc.  Found out there were very, very few good churches there.  Buddhism, Taoism, etc., etc. are by far the majority.

Iain

Al - Sounds like the ideal place to start a mission!!

Time to come out of retirement for yourself and Marbeth?

And should you ever need an apprentice!

Sonifo

Troy is swimming at state!  He qualified for the 500yd.  He needed to get 5:45 and he got 5:35.  Woohooo!

Hope you all have a wonderful day
Soni

Janet

Way to go, Troy!!  Congrats, and best wishes for a win at State!  Rah! Rah! Rah!  Go, Troy!!

Iain, here in Kansas, or state school board a few years ago ruled that evolution could no longer be taught as "fact" in our schools.  I was so proud of them!  But, alas, some of them were defeated the next time around, and evolution was returned to the classrooms of Kansas.  It is only a THEORY, that's all even Darwin ever claimed it was---yet it is taught as FACT.  So sad.  Now, some states are ruling that whenever evolution is taught, creationism must also be taught.  I hope that at least holds.  Some kids never hear a word from the Bible at home, never go to church------and the kids are our future.  It is NOT against the law for the Bible to be taught in our schools, but so many are opposed, and so few teachers have the backbone to go ahead and teach it.

Etta Sue, may I go along with you tonight?  Thoroughly Modern Millie sounds like a really fun play.  We are going to Dodge City on Friday night to a play called The Dresser.  I think it's a comedy.  They sent out a flyer saying one of their members had written a play which they were going to perform as an extra one, with a disclaimer at the bottom saying "If you are offended by adult situations and language, please do not attend this show."  I was SO disappointed in them, for even doing such a play.  Needless to say, we are NOT going to that one!

I ate something last night that did not agree with me, and was SO sick during the night.  I guess my system purged it thoroughly, though, as I'm okay today, except for being rather tired.  But I went and did my workout and my swim anyway.

PRAISE GOD, PRAISE GOD, PRAISE GOD!!!  BETH IS OUT OF HER WHEELCHAIR!!  It is so much easier to load a walker than a wheelchair, and I feel she will soon be using only a cane again.  This is truly a miracle!  Dr. Cone surely had the wisdom of God showing him each move to make and controlling his hands during that surgery.  When you think how easily the spinal cord can be injured-----well, thanks to all of you for your prayers, we KNOW that made the difference for Beth!!  And we love you all for caring enough to pray!

Alma, so good to have you back!  Please don't wear yourself out!  Are you still taking care of the same lady?

I have some calls to make, need to take some stuff over to Beth, and other chores, so see y'all later!

Sounds like you have a budding Mark Spitz in your family Soni.

Good for Troy. Well done lad.

Thanks for that explanation Janet, I understand better now.

Are there such things as local Christian Schools? If so, how far is the nearest one from where you live?

Janet

#13
Yes, Iain, there are many Christian schools here.  We had one in our town for over 20 years, but it is now closed, so the nearest one is about 30 miles away, in the town where my daughter and her family live.

Today is no longer Valentine's Day, but here is the photo I promised you yesterday.

Hey all, guess what I got my ten stitches out yesterday and I was scared for nothing guess it was just where they were that gave me the willies.John told me last night that he had roses sent to me but I have never got them yet so they better get with it as I want a nice bouquet not a half wilted one.I sent him a message to let him know that I have not gotten them so after he gets home he'll probably call to see what the problem is.I think he wanted them to be a suprise and he had to check to see if I had gotten them so he had to tell,I sure hope they delivery them today,no excuse,I am home and the phone has not rang.As mom told you I am able to use my walker more use the wheelchair only when I need to carry something from the kitchen and  orobably when I go  and have to stand in line or do shopping where there are no electric carts.I think the headaches are gone at last did not have any on mon and none today .I had a very slight one sunday but it wass n't anything like they had been I sure not going to miss them.I need to find a computer person ,I go into my NF chatroom in the afternoon and it lets me stay and then about 6pm it throws me out as soon as I try to posts this never happened before I went to high speed and I do not know why it is doing that now but it is driving me crazy.Well I hope to get it resolved because after 6 is when the people come in that work and that I don't talk to before that time. Please keep praying for Johns mom she is doing much better but is still on the ventilator so needs prayer that they can get her offthat thing w/o any problems they have been having .Thanks again from the two of us,Beth

The Holy Spirit: Less Than Trinitarian

The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the
communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all. Amen.
--2 Corinthians 13:14

Our blunder (or shall we frankly say our sin?) has been to
neglect the doctrine of the Spirit to a point where we virtually
deny Him His place in the Godhead. This denial has not been by
open doctrinal statement, for we have clung closely enough to the
Biblical position wherever our credal pronouncements are
concerned. Our formal creed is sound; the breakdown is in our
working creed.

This is not a trifling destinction. A doctrine has practical
value only as far as it is prominent in our thoughts and makes a
difference in our lives. By this test the doctrine of the Holy
Spirit as held by evangelical Christians today has almost no
practical value at all. In most Christian churches the Spirit
is quite entirely overlooked. Whether He is present or absent
makes no real difference to anyone. Brief reference is made to
Him in the Doxology and the Benediction. Further than that He
might as well not exist. So completely do we ignore Him that it
is only by courtesy that we can be called Trinitarian. The
Christian doctrine of the Trinity boldly declares the equality
of the Three Persons and the right of the Holy Spirit to be
worshipped and glorified. Anything less than this is something
less than Trinitarianism.  The Pursuit of Man, 60-61.

"Lord, I'm sure I've been guilty of this neglect, this blunder,
this sin. Make me so aware of the power of the Holy Spirit in
my life that I might give Him the recognition and worship that
He so rightly deserves. Amen."

Pat:  It is good to see that you are up and about again.  Sorry about the flare-ups that apparently happen over the years since your back trauma years ago.  Awfully heavy drugs for you.

Janet:  Wonderful to hear that Beth is into a walker.  So good for her!

Beth:  I hope that your flowers arrived today.  Hugs to you!

Soni:  Such great news for your son!  Super news!

Etta Sue:  Hawaii - sounds warm and wonderful.

My cousin loaned a Chicken Soup book to me and it is so nice to read such Good News!.

Surprise - it's only 6:20 and I've been home long enough to take the dogs out for a very short stroll, then have read NEM from its beginning today.

Alma, take care - that's an awful lot of work for you (I know - I work really hard, too and it can wear you down).

Beth, that's really good news, and your mom looks spectacular in her photo!

It's good to see new faces and to hear new names, as well as seeing all our familiar folks here, as well.

Y'all take care.

Ruth Ann
...his compassions fail not.  They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.

Sonifo

Thanks everyone for your encouraging words for Troy.  I will let him know you all support him.

I bought some Sony CD-R's for burning my pictures and they don't work right.  I can burn pictures on them but retreiving them is almost impossible.  Took me  :o 3 hours today to move 40 pictures from a CD to my documents.   >:(  I went out and bought some new cd's. But now I have to work on 6 cd's that I burned stuff on.  That should take me all week to work that out.  :-\

Chandraya's solo is done.  All she has to do now is practice and perfect it.  It is the cutest dance and fits her little personality perfectly.  She has a competition coming up March 10-12.  Lots of practice till then.

Lila Mae is wanting to go to school.  She talks about it all the time.  "Mommy, go schoo wiff sissy?" LOL..I have to tell her no about 4 times a day.  She is going through a weird monster stage.  She thinks the shower and tub have monsters in them and the car wash.  We learned the hard way with the carwash.  She screamed so loud the whole way through the looooong wash.  Poor little thing now tells me, "Momma, Lila don't want to go carwash."  She sleeps with me now again.  Oh well, last one so I don't mind her being mommies little girl for awhile.

Zachery is doing great in school.  He loves the teachers and is doing a great job with his work.  The nurse is great and makes sure he gets his meds on time.  I can't believe he is 14.  Feels like he is still my little boy.  They grow up so fast. I plan to take a picture of him today for my PaD.

Troy has a job helping a friend of mine with tile and carpet work.  He loves it expecially since he gets paid $7.00 an hour.  He doesn't complain at all and can be pretty physical at times. Making it to state is pretty exciting for him. He almost made it last year but was 4/10 of a second from qualifying.  Qualifying time is 5:45 and he got 5:35.

I better get going.  Thought I would write a few words about how my kids were doing.  Hope you all have a wonderful evening.

Soni

Janet

Ruth Ann, thanks for the nice compliment.  Maybe you are the only one who saw the photo.  ;)  Glad you got home at a reasonable hour today.

Soni, thanks for the update on your kids.  I love hearing about them.  Abby went through a monster stage, too, and I would get the air freshener and tell her it was monster spray, and then spray where she said the monster was hiding.  It worked!  ;D  It's so good to hear that Zachery is doing well; and I wish I could see Chandraya's dance, I know it will be just darling.  Take lots of photos to share!  You haven't been posting many here lately, and I miss seeing your great work.  Good for Troy, earning him some $$$!

I need to work on Mark's scrapbook, because graduation is looming in the not-too-distant future!!

I saw your photo Janet., and its beautiful!  You LOOKED like a Valentine, yourself, sitting there, so pretty with all your gifts.  Now, isn't that Darryl sweet to do that for you? I'm sure you are very deserving, though, and its nice to be apreciated, isn't it.

Norm and I went shopping Saturday, and he bought me a lovely sweater.  I just commented on how nice I thought it was as we were going by the store.  We stopped for lunch, and he excused himself to use the washroom facilities. I wondered what was keeping him so long,; when he came back to our table, he presented me with a parcel, and in it was the sweater I admired....right size too!

Iain:  Nice to see you bro.  Guess all the talk in your area is about "the wedding", huh?  She could use a "makeover".

Larry:  A few years ago, my son was travelling in Atlanta., and he got a flat tire in downtown Atlanta.  Fortunately, a police officer saw the trouble, ...stopped his car, and radioed for help. The officer told David (my son) that he couldn't be in a worse area...and to get out!  The officer kindly waited until David's tire was fixed, and lead the way to safety.

David wrote a "thank you" letter to the Atlanta paper.  I don't recall the name of the paper, just now.

Beth:  Did your flowers arrive., and were they "fresh"?  Show us a picture if you can.

Well, its pouring rain....a good night to stay in.  Its calling for 15 Centimetres of snow....how many inches would that be?

I'm supposed to go out tomorrow.....not if we get a snow like that....not for THIS gal!...LOL

I'm missing TBEAR.  Has anyone heard from her?

Pat: Missing your posts too. I hope your neck pain is easing off.  It hasn't been that bad for a long time, has it.  Also - let us know how you like your satellite.  You bet...every $$ helps!!

Dr. Phil has a special on tonight.  Its on at 9:pm, I believe.

I thought Joyce Meyer was supposed to be on Larry King tonight., don't think so, as he didn't mention it last night.

Well, I've had a busy day....got lots done around here, though, so I think I'll get my "jammies" on early.

Have a good evening, everyone.

Hi Pat, how are you feeling?

Hi Everyone, I know it's been a long time since I have been here.

There have been a lot of changes since I talked last with you.   Tomorrow I have a cataract operation.  This is one where my eye is frozen and a lens is taken out and a new one put in.  I have been told it's not too bad.  I'm putting drops in my eyes tonight.  Last week I had 3 root canals done and my teeth are still hurting!

Oh well, on a positive note, I now have a new sweetheart in my life.  His name is Brian Christian.  Great name eh!  We have been together now for 6 months.  We both go to the Peoples Church and our desire is to love the Lord our God with all our hearts and serve Him all the days of our lives.  We are planning on getting engaged in a month or two and you are all invited to the wedding.   I will keep you posted so you won't miss it.  Covet your prayers.

Hope everyone is doing great.   Janet that is a beautiful picture and such great gifts!

God bless
