Janet: Hello, Friends!  Let's get this going again!  I miss  hearing from all of you! 2025-01-23, 19:26:16

Don: Hey Judy, It's been a long time. Hope you are doing well. 2024-12-02, 22:41:41

JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Ouch.  You're a very lucky guy.  The leading cause for senior deaths are caused by falls.  When I had my knee replaced I fell going down stairs.  I sat there with my leg under me praying it wasn't broken.  The long wait in ER can be another kind of pain.  Glad you're ok, but you're gonna hurt for a while.

Nards..........

The spoken language can really be interpreted incorrectly times.  KInd of like what we used to say in court Nards......"You've assumed a fact not in evidence." In your post you said:

Quote, but let's please don't imply that Mr. Gibson has done something wrong if he doesn't say the words "Believe in Jesus Christ as your personal Saviour,

Never implied a thing Nards, nor did I make any mention of the Catholic Church.  I simply want to know whether Mel Gibson included the Salvation message in the film.  No more, no less.  I made clear  what I plan to do if it wasn't included.

Good point.  Forgive me if I read something in that you didn't intend.
I survived open heart surgery.... :)

THE OLD RUGGED CROSS
(Click to hear music)

On a hill far away stood an old rugged cross,
The emblem of suffering and shame;
And I love that old cross where the dearest and best
For a world of lost sinners was slain.

Refrain
So I'll cherish the old rugged cross,
Till my trophies at last I lay down;
I will cling to the old rugged cross,
And exchange it some day for a crown.

O that old rugged cross, so despised by the world,
Has a wondrous attraction for me;
For the dear Lamb of God left His glory above
To bear it to dark Calvary.

In that old rugged cross, stained with blood so divine,
A wondrous beauty I see,
For 'twas on that old cross Jesus suffered and died,
To pardon and sanctify me.

To the old rugged cross I will ever be true;
Its shame and reproach gladly bear;
Then He'll call me some day to my home far away,
Where His glory forever I'll share.

Isn't that beautiful piano playing?  I could sit and listen to that for hours and the words are so meaningful in here today.

Rachelle, where did you see a list of the class members?  I never remember seeing one.  That's so nice that you and I are in the same class and I didn't even realize it!

Lee, did you see your photo?  I love it.

I finally went outdoors and kept Wendy company on the way to her Physio treatment.  Had to get something to help this annoying cold.  All the natural remedies have sadly failed me this time.

Nards, you have put things in their proper perspective.  The very thing our Vancouver Sun warned Christians about in today's paper.  You are a smart fella as well as having a cute haircut!

Always love your posts Chris & Margit.  In this instance, yours Chris.  Do you know how Iain is doing.  I surely do miss his devotions....

Pastor Al, hope you heal real quickly.  The shock from a fall is almost as bad as the resulting bruises.  I cracked some ribs doing that awhile back.  Ouch!!

Time to go and work on my Income Tax.  Will try to think kind thoughts about our less than honest gov. leaders.  Sometimes being a Christian can be a real challenge.

God Bless.  Liz

Pat

Hi Liz...  Have you told Amanda about the Teen Room?  She might enjoy it with other kids around her age.

Yes, our government is in one big mess right now here in Canada, isn't it?  I can hardly believe how quickly this came to light even though we all had our suspicians for so long.

Lee, just two sections below New Every Morning is a section called Manna for the Soul.  I'd love it if you went in there and started a discussion on Isaiah.  It would be good in there as the discussion wouldn't be as disjointed as it would be in here where we talk about just about everything and then start this discussion over each night.

Let me know if you need help opening it.  I know that there are a few that would like to join you.  That's what we opened that section for.  And it needs more use!  ;)

Abby is here with me, so today we did special things that she wanted to do.  First thing this morning, we went swimming, which she loves!  Then she requested pancakes and eggs for breakfast.  She is a good little helper, so she helped me clean some spots off the carpet, then she mopped the kitchen and utility room floors ALL BY HERSELF!!

By then it was lunch time, so we fixed our food, packed it in a basket, along with a tablecloth and napkins, and went to her favorite park for a little picnic.  ;D ;D  It was 72 degrees here today, just beautiful; and NO wind!!  We played hide and seek for a while, then some other children came with their mothers, so Abby made friends and played with them for a while, while I dozed on a bench in the warm sunshine! :o

After she had enough of playing, we went to the "Goody Shop" where she had a pink bubble gum snocone.  By then, it was time to come home.  No, I wouldn't dream of spoiling her!  Hahahaha!  While I was pushing her in the swing, she said she wished we could do this more often.

Beth got a lawyer hired today to help with her Social Security Disability claim, and made her appointment in Texas for those alternative treatments.  So things are moving along, I hope in the right direction.

Good to look in on all the discussions, I just felt rather disconnected today.  See you all tomorrow!

I  took my client out shopping today, we went to the drugstore, KMart, and grocery shopping at Safeway. we stopped for lunch at Burger King. She was worn out by the time we got back to her place, after all she is 94 years old.

Then I went for my massage and now I feel great.

Going on to Bible Study tonight we are doing Chapters 26, 27 and 28 in PDL tonight. I recommended the book to the PA at my Doctor's office.

Rachelle: I found the Healing Room in my area. Thought you  would be pleased to know that.

Today went by pretty smoothly.

That reminds me...I have dance.  duh...I almost forgot.

Nards! ! ! Guess what there is a spot you can meet John.  Exit # 37 there is a TA truck stop and he can park the truck and have coffee or lunch or supper or whatever with you and your beautiful wife and son of course!  I was quite surprised that you could meeet so close by! ;D

I have had a busy day.  I sold a hsing book to a friend and I was paid in frozen ducks.  So there are 2 meals, no expence to her and meals for us.  Boy the barter system works well in this case! ::)

Had supper with mother, it is nice to have her here and see her regularily.  It was good to have dinner with her.

Mel Gibson's movie will not be shown in North Bay, but it will be shown in Sudbury.  So on the 25th it is off to Sudbury I go.  I will have a van full of friends, I am not taking the girls , John has said to see it myself first then take them later after I prepare them for it.  Sounds like a plan to me.

Well I am tired, so it is off to bed for me.

Night all

Thank you Lee and Nita, yes my team is very excited about the three salvations last night.  We will go and follow up next week.   I gave them a Gospel of John and told them to read every night and when they see a promise of God to put a "P" beside the verse, and when they see a command of God to put a "C" beside the verse.   Next week we will discuss what they have found and answer any questions they may have.  I also told them to pray directly to God and talk to Him about everything.    Please pray for Gloria, Michelle and Mandilito for growth.

Love Ruthie

Rachelle, Mel Gibson did a good job of explaining about the movie and his beliefs to Dianne Sawyer.  I don't know for sure if he is a born-again Christian, but I have asked the people in my EE class to pray for him.  There have been other movie stars who have become Christians and are not afraid to witness to the world.   So if he is not one now, pray that the Holy Spirit will draw him to receive the Christ that he has made a movie about!   That would be awesome!

Ria, I work at a place called The Ontario Breast Screening Program and they screen women for breast cancer from 50 years and older.   The women get a breast exam as well as a mammogram.    Sounds the same as in Holland.

Hope you are feeling well Ria.    God Bless

Al, I am so glad you were not hurt worse that you were.   I think you will be aching for a while.  Will pray for a speedy recovery.

Etta Sue it is great that so many people are going to see The Passion of Christ.   At my church many people will go together to see it.   We were told to go the 25th when it opens and that weekend, because it is like casting a vote to show Hollywood that so many people are interested in this quality of movie.  I plan on seeing it.  I understand that Billy Graham saw the preview and wept.

Janet
, I'm glad things are progressing with Beth.   Will continue to pray that God will do the impossible.

That would be the Buckhorn.  And if he goes on West on 40, there are two more at exit24.  Not bad dining establishments, at all.  When I was pregnant with TAS, I liked eating at one of them in particular.

That reminds me of a story.
At the church where I used to go, we did an evangelism outreach called FAITH.  (Similar in concept, design and execution to EE).  One night, my team (me and two teenage boys) couldn't find anyone at home, so we decided to go to the truck stop for a piece of pie.  There was one trucker in there who looked particularly lonely, so we sat near him and started talking.  I shared the faith outline with him (plan of salvation) and he said he was a Christian (Jehovah's Witness -- some things aren't to be argued at this point), so we talked a little more, and I asked if there was anything we could pray about for him.  He told us he wanted to get home safely, that he was nearing retirement (just a few more trips) and he wanted to finish it safely.  I told him we would, we prayed, I gave him some literature, and at the end of the whole thing (this is a very very very very condensed version of the story, it actually took the better part of two hours) we had discussed some of the finer points of Christianity that differ greatly from JW and he said that he would really think about it as he was driving.  He had never heard stuff like that before.

My point?  Who knows.  Maybe one day in heaven, I'll look up and there he is.

You just never know the effect your life will have on someone else -- either for good or for naught.
