Don: Hey Judy, It's been a long time. Hope you are doing well. 2024-12-02, 22:41:41

JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Oldiesmann: So sorry for your loss Carol. Praying for you and your family :( 2022-05-01, 17:13:05

Carol: My husband Don is with the angels.....Our family was able to hold  ourselves together for the last moments.  Juar rhoufhr you might want to know. 2022-04-29, 23:35:15

Morning Devotional...

These things have I written...that ye may know.
1 John 5:13

Imagine the effect on a man and woman if they are not sure they are married.

Trust, the foundation and fabric of marriage and intimacy, could only be superficial at best. Marriage, the union of a man and woman, is a picture of Christ and his bride, the Church.

Many claim to know Christ, yet live their lives never certain if they belong to Christ or not.

The Father says, "Whosoever believeth in Him shall never perish" (Jn. 3:16). Jesus said, "I give unto them eternal life" (Jn. 10:28).

Paul says, "Who are kept by the power of God" (1 Pet. 1:5).

In light of all these assurances, trust and intimacy should indelibly characterize our relationship with Him.
—Charlie Tempest

JUST A CLOSER WALK WITH THEE
(Click to hear music)

We also are weak in Him, yet by
God's power we shall live with Him.
2 Corinthians 13:4

I am weak, but Thou art strong;
Jesus, keep me from all wrong;
I'll be satisfied as long
As I walk, let me walk close to Thee.

Chorus:
Just a closer walk with Thee,
Grant it, Jesus, is my plea,
Daily walking close to Thee,
Let it be, dear Lord, let it be.

Through this world of toil and snares,
If I falter, Lord, who cares?
Who with me my burden shares?
None but Thee, dear Lord, none but Thee.

Chorus:
Just a closer walk with Thee,
Grant it, Jesus, is my plea,
Daily walking close to Thee,
Let it be, dear Lord, let it be.

When my feeble life is o'er,
Time for me will be no more;
Guide me gently, safely o'er
To Thy kingdom shore, to Thy shore.

Chorus:
Just a closer walk with Thee,
Grant it, Jesus, is my plea,
Daily walking close to Thee,
Let it be, dear Lord, let it be.

Papa John

Saturday morning is already here.  Seems to me like the week has passed by very quickly.

Pat, I was so sorry to read about the young man who was killed as his parents were on their way to South America.  What a tragic thing for them to have to turn around and take that sad trip back home.

2 Cor 1:2-4
2   Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
3   Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort,
4   who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God.  (NIV)

Etta Sue

Well, today I read where in Janet's town, there is a surgeon who some say is 'too Godly'.  I know for me I wouldn't go to a surgeon who is 'too Satanly'.

Then Jane tells us about her pipe bursting again.  Always something when you are a home owner and it does seem to come at inconveniently times....as if there are convenient times for added expenses.  God is good...all the time.

I am so happy that Sonja took time from her busy schedule to say 'Morning'.

And then Ruth Ann is off to Atlanta again.  Hmmm!  I will be in Atlanta next Thursday....just passing by.

And Joyce is heading to Pennsylvania where I know she loves being there.

Ruthie, I know the time is going slow about not seeing through your right eye but there is light at the end of the tunnel.  No pun intended.

Thanks, Chris, for giving us a definition of 'stigmata'.  My dictionary says it is 'bodily marks or pains resembling the wounds of the crucified Christ and sometimes accompanying reliqious ecstasy', whatever that means.

Hey, Matt!  I like that poll.  Interesting changes on the same photo.

So sad when a young life is taken so suddenly, Pat.  His journey into etenity is over.

Wow, Marilyn!  Isn't it wonderful when pain leaves us and we know in our hearts that it is the work of God?  Thank you, God, for taking the pain from Marilyn's thumb.

Your children sound darling, RoqueSnapper.  When I read words like yours, I so wish I had grandchildren of my own.

Kathy, thanks for stopping in.  Those auditors can occupy one's time.  I am assuming they are there for your workplace.

Fast Eddie, I love your story.  When someone refuses your hospitality, it does something to our hearts.  But when someone accepts our hospitality, it does something to our hearts, too.

EXACTLY, Al!  Repentance and faith is the only way.

Hi Papa John.  Glad you stopped in today.

Where is TBear?

Well, today will be another day of tying things together for my trip south.  I need to sweep out the car but it is just too cold today to think of that.  I have little piles of things everywhere...sun visor, GPS stuff, travel coffee cup, envelope for credit card receipts, crocheting and knitting...you know, the necessary stuff!   ;)

Janet

What sad news to read, about the young man who was killed.  Surely he was a Christian, wasn't he?  That is the first thing I always want to know.  If so, his parents will only be separated from him for a little while (though it may seem forever to them while here.)  What do others do, who don't have this Blessed Hope?

The play we attended last night was a BIG disappointment.  It was more a drama than a comedy; hard to follow, and not all that entertaining.  The troupe always does a great job, but their choice of material isn't always great, in my opinion.  Oh, well---the dinner was delicious!  :)

RogueSnapper, I know I would LOVE your girls, all three of them!  But the birthday girl sounds so much like my Abby, bet they would have a blast together.  Yes, cherish and enjoy each day; they grow up WAY too fast!

Hi, Etta Sue!  Our morning schedules seem to be similar, so often we are posting at the same time!  Have a great trip South.  Wish I were going!  ;D

It ha been raining all night and looks to be slowing now but expected tog o on all day long. I love the rain it makes things so pretty come spring.

Etta Sue, when you get out to clean your car, you wanna come clean mine? ;D hehe..

I have a few things to do today, but each one of those will take a while to do.  I won't be back in unless I have a spare moment.

Etta Sue...I wish you were coming to SC so I could meet you!!!   Have a good time on your trip.  If you just HAPPEN to get to SC get it touch with me! :) :) :)

A beautiful chilly day is SC.  And I'm getting ready to go out with one of the grands.  My project started last year was to spend some time alone with each grand...taking one a week.  Then I get to spend time with each child.  It's been very rewarding for me.

Love to all...kathy :)

Good morning all!!  The baby slept all night last night!!  woohoo.  Actually, if she is full (a task in itself) and warm, she is a very good sleeper anytime.

Etta, I'm like Kathy, if you end up in the Carolinas, let us know!!  About now, a vacation would be nice.  I guess my vacation was Feb. 8 and 9 at Memorial Mission "Hilton."  Hey, they brought me food, and checked on me every so often, and charged me an arm and leg to do it.  hahahahhaha

this week has gone by fast.  And it's not because I'm "busy" either.  I'm moving at rather a leisurely pace in everything I do.  I did take some shots of Travis and the baby the other night.  I've  got a new flash, and it is taking osme getting used to.  I may post them anyway, just 'cuz I think they're cute.

Have an awesome day!!

Pat

Great to read all your posts.

Have to run some errands and then I'll be back.

Yahoooo!!  I have spending a lot of time working on Mark's scrapbook/memory album, and have just put in the last photos I have of him!  I will take it tomorrow and have Diane help me see if I have all the captions and dates right, and if she has any more photos to add. Yippee!  Feels good to have it nearly done.  Of course, the school year isn't over yet, either, but at least I'm up to date!..........Now to get to work on Abby's! ;D

JudyB---those are just like real flies--the more you swat, the more they come!  Thanks, that was a fun break.  Now it's back to work for me!

Hi everyone.  I have not disappeared off the face of the earth but have either been away or dealing with a sick computer.  I have just now completed reinstalling Windows on my desktop after reformatting the hard drive.  I have had it 3 years and it was getting pretty unstable, in fact for the last three days it just hasn't worked.  My son was over today and we finally found the bios setting (enabling the bios to recognize the USB keyboarfd) that finally allowed me to be able to reformat and reinstall.

I haven't read any messages for a couple of days and hopefully by this evening, in the comfort of my easy chair I will be able to catch up a bit.  Just wanted to let you all know I was fine.

Chris & Margit Saunders

Janet

I's just glad to know you're all right, Larry!  Would you please send your son over here to help me with my computer now?  ;)  I had to try five times before I got it to going this morning.  :P

Janet, that sounds like some cars that I've had!

Ruth Ann Bice

Hi, friends,

Because of flu at the kids' house, I was advised to turn around and return to Nashville. So, I'm back and have done most of my shopping for the day. Still need to go back out for a couple of things at another store. However, with the groceries in the back of the pickup, I don't dare park and leave the truck for fear someone else will enjoy my week's food!

Y'all have a good day.

Ruth Ann

Prayer Request Please ... K4J is down sick & not sure when she will be coming back onto the board so she has asked that everyone keep her in prayer ... thanks gang gotta go & get dressed as I've a special dinner out w/ my husband tonight so see you Monday if not before !!

Etta Sue

Busy doing nothing today.  If anyone came in the house they wouldn't have a clue how busy I have been because nothing looks changed.  Tony did come to visit...on Pearl.  Pearl is his Irredescent White Pearlized Harley.  Too cold for me.  Not even above freezing.  But he must be getting anxious to get back out on the rode again.  He said his face was the only thing cold and he is used to the cold since he works outside at a stone quarry.  His leather outfit threw off cold air all the time he was here!

Larry ~ Glad it was your pc that was sick and not you.

Ruth Ann ~ Best that you did turn around.  This flu that is going around isn't fun...is there any flu that is...come to think of it?

Karma ~ You are excused.  You can get around at leisure for a few more days....weeks...hey, milk it all you can!

Chris ~ I like that website.  Very interesting.

Sonja ~ I washed the windows inside and out on the car last week before going to Murat Temple.  Then it rained!   :-\

Kathy and Karma ~ The closest to the Carolina's this time will be Chattanooga.  Probably just flying by there, too.  Ivalou and I are long overdue to go to Myrtle Beach.  Will have to talk to her about that.  But then one vacation at a time.  We are talking about Hawaii early next year.

Marilyn ~ I hope it didn't take long to get your part installed on your car.  Not my favorite thing to do...getting work done on the car and I have to do that Monday...oil and greased.

Janet ~ Glad you got caught up on the scrapbook.  Then there is the Prom and graduation yet!  But I am thinking you will need more than one scrapbook for Abby.  You could fill a few already, right?

JudyB ~ Cute thing swatting those flies.  I stopped when I got to 60 but didn't close the window.  I went back to close it and those flies were huge!!!!!!!!!!  They grew fast!!!

Pat ~ Are you back from your errands yet?  I think you are.  I saw you come online with my MSN IM.

TBear ~ I have K4J in my prayers.  You, too, gal!  Hope those tests come out better than expected.

I usually don't get online a second time in a day but tomorrow will be a long day.  I run the lights at church and then do some grocery shopping before coming home.  Have to have food for Jerry while he does the cat sitting job!!!

Judy McKenna

Etta Sue:  We will miss you while you and Ivalou are vacationing.  Tell that Jerry - NO MORE LURKING... I expect to see him post here! ;)

Papa John:  Wonderful scriptures you posted here., such comforting thoughts.

K4J:  I am so sorry you are not feeling well.  Hurry and get well....we miss you too!

TBear:  Glad you took time to post.

Marilyn:  Hope you get all the parts oiled and greased on the car. BTW - Your signature photo is pretty.  It reminds me of someone "floating" in a nice warm heated pool.

Thats what I will be doing in a couple of weeks....floating in a warm heated pool in FLORIDA!!

My dog Rags is driving me silly!  I put him out to ...well, you know....and he just wants to eat snow.  He has th back porch steps all licked bare...it looks like a skating rink...LOL :D

Judy B:  That was a fun game.

Pat:  I am so sorry to hear about the young man who was killed in a car accident.

Janet:  I MUST remember that line:  I wouldn't want a doctor who was too Satanly...good Janet!!

Larry:  Glad you are well., and I hope your Pat is keeping well too.

Hope we see our new members coming in here to post.

Karma:  I'm anxious to see photos of the children.  Does that sound "cool" Karma?...saying "your CHILDREN" now...not just "child"! :)

I was just over on SeniorNet in Photos--Then & Now and found this:

WHO IS THIS?[/color]

"Click for Waterloo Wellington, Ontario Forecast"

Nita

Good afternoon early evening all.

It's been so sunny and warm the last few days, but this afternoon we have rain.  I was feeling bad about not getting out and planting something, or pulling a weed, but now I feel much better. ;D

Speaking of bills!!  I just got my hospital bill today (haven't gotten the doc's yet)!!  I was shocked.  The last time I was in the hospital was when my youngest was born.....30+ years ago.  I was in from Wednesday to Friday and the bill was over $14,000.  My insurance paid all but $2500, so I'll just have to make payments on that.   I'll have to make payments on the doctor bill too.  He doesn't know that.....but I'll let them know when I get the bill. :)    I keep reminding myself that every cent I own belongs to my Father, and I do too.....so He will take care of me......in His own way.

Jane.....that was such a blessing about your plumber.   Thanks for the invitation (ongoing)to go sing at the nursing home.  I still get tired easily.  I haven't been back to church since I had the surgery.  I"m not sure if I could sit in those chairs for very long.  I went to the Round Table once, and did ok.  I think it's just that I try to do too much, and then I'm in pain for a day.  So......I'm just resting and resting some more. lol

Ty and Rocko had their shots.  They did pretty good.  Kim had them bathed......but after we came back I let them out in the back yard to go tinkle and run off some of their excitement for the day.  They found a mole hill!  The grass was still damp too.  They are white.  I guess you can imagine what their faces and feet looked like.  They came running up to me, happy as could be, with no idea of how dirty they were.  Ty always looks like he's smiling,  and Rocko does this little sit thing...he sits up on his haunches...with his little front paws  lifted...so cute.  So there they were, filthy, and looking so funny.  I had to laugh out loud.   A couple of big towels later, they were ready to come sit in front of the heater and dry.  Thursday is groomer day!!  Hair cuts and baths.  Oh, JOY!! ;D

Larry, it's so good to have children that know about things like computers. :)  My son in law has decided that from now on he wants to be in charge of being sure my oil is changed in my car.  He won't even let me pay for it.  I'm sure not going to disagree with him.

I have to go visit with the rain....so excuse me for now.  I think I remember that my car window is open. ::) ::)

Nita

Pat, that's Etta Sue, the cat lady. :)

Larry Hanna

I am back.  I have quickly read through the postings for the last three days.  Sorry to read of the death of the young man, the plumbing problems that Jane has had and the large hospital bill that Nita received.  Nita, your bill sounds like the one I got for my three hours in the hospital having the radiated seeds implanted.  It was for about $23,000.  Fortunately my insurance paid all of it but $50 co-pay I now have.

I saw my cardiologist yesterday for a routine visit.  He increased a couple of my heart medicines and wants me to try to continue my exercise program but said to cut back to where I could do it without bringing on the stress.  He said I could walks a few rounds and then rest and also slow the treadmill down and lower the grade.  Hope I can do that as know I need the exercise.  I will go back to the "Y" on Monday and give it a try.

Then yesterday we had our computer user group meeting and we had 111 people attend, a new high.  My good friend, Rod, gave the presentation on 99 Tricks and Tips for Windows, Internet Explorer and the Desktop.

I haven't gotten too far on my desktop restoration other than get it installed and got that software all updated.  I installed anti-virus software, Zone Alarm for the firewall and moved my working documents back onto that drive.  I was only able to get three or four programs reinstalled so will work more on that tomorrow.  About 8:30 decided it was time to move to my easy chair and try to catch up here and on the SeniorNet site and get my e-mail caught up.

Interesting discussions here and I have read all the postings but am too tired to try to write individual comments tonight.  Hope that in a couple of days things will be back to normal and I will have more time.  However, we will leave for Florida on Wednesday and I doubt that I will have any Internet access down there.

Pat
