JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Morning Devotional...

The Holy Spirit:
Moratorium on Activity

Search me, O God, and know my heart; try me, and know my anxieties; and see if there is any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.
--Psalm 139:23-24

I suppose my suggestion will not receive much serious attention, but I should like to suggest that we Bible-believing Christians announce moratorium on religious activity and set our house in order preparatory to the coming of an afflatus from above. So carnal is the body of Christians which composes the conservative wing of the Church, so shockingly irreverent are our public services in some quarters, so degraded are our religious tastes in still others, that the need for power could scarcely have been greater at any time in history.

I believe we should profit immensely were we to declare a period of silence and self-examination during which each one of us searched his own heart and sought to meet every condition for a real baptism of power from on high.
Dr. Tozer in The Pursuit of Man, 94.

"Lord, I do pray that You would move in the hearts of leaders in churches everywhere to prompt this time of silence and self-examination. So often activity feeds on itself and it takes a conscious effort to step off the treadmill to re-evaluate. Stimulate our hearts, and quiet us today to hear from You. Amen."

Cleanse Me
(Click to hear music)

Search me, O God, and know my heart today;
Try me, O Savior, know my thoughts I pray.
See if there be some wicked way in me;
Cleanse me from ev'ry sin and set me free.

I praise Thee, Lord, for cleansing me from sin;
Fulfill Thy Word and make me pure within.
Fill me with fire where once I burned with shame;
Grant my desire to magnify Thy name.

Lord, take my life and make it wholly Thine;
Fill my poor heart with Thy great love divine.
Take all my will, my passion, self and pride;
I now surrender, Lord--in me abide.

O Holy Ghost, revival comes from Thee;
Send a revival--start the work in me.
Thy Word declares Thou wilt supply our need;
For blessings now, O Lord, I humbly plead.

Oops!  I was just reviewing my post to check for typos, and Pat locked the door.  So I copied it and will put it here instead.  Hi, Pat!

Hi again!

The Walk to Emmaus, as I understand it, is a very intense spiritual retreat.  You go, and stay at the church the whole time.  You cannot have your car there, as they don't want anyone leaving until the end.  There are ten talks on different biblical subjects, and I don't know what else.  And I was told (as Karma said) that you will learn a lot about yourself (probably uncomfortable all right!) and that some things will make you sad, but some things will delight you.  I'm speaking of the things you learn about yourself.

I also thought it was a Methodist thing; and it is going to be at the Methodist church; and the others I've heard about were also at Methodist churches.  Since I've never been involved in one, that's really all I know.  There is a couple in our church who have gone, and they said it was awesome, that it changed their lives.

The men's walk is on a separate weekend from the women's walk.  Our friends are sending the application, but I don't know if it will tell me any more or not.  I was really just wanting information from YOU folks!  ;)  I do plan to go, so I can tell you more after I go; it's not a big secret thing, though I'm sure a lot of the things God deals with each one about are private.  He's a very personal God.

Well, my day got messed up.  I got a call from the health nurse's office telling me my bloodwork was back, that it was REALLY bad, and that I should see my doctor TODAY.  I said I couldn't, I had too much to do today, and they said no, you need to go today!  So I cancelled my class and went, and big deal........my cholesterol is high, and my potassium is low.  Nothing new.  The doctor wasn't all that concerned, but he did give me scripts for a different cholesterol med and some potassium.

I am progressing on getting the house ready for that team dinner tomorrow night, but I want to paint!!  :'(

I'd better get to bed, have to go to Hugoton to the chiropractor again in the morning.  Phooey.

Hi Janet.  That Walk to Emmaus sounds interesting.  I wonder if it is in Canada?  I agree that you need to slow down and get enough rest.

Pat good devotional, also one of my favourite hymns.

Eleven thirty and still no snow.  Perhaps we will miss it.  Aparently it is hitting the east coast after leaving us.  We will see.

A PD day is a day that the board of Education closes the schools.  This time it is between semesters.  The new semester starts on Monday.

Well the dog is letting me know she wants in.  Cimi has been out and is back to the puppies.   We have one little gal who has "attitude".  She growls and barks at her siblings.  It is really cute.  The one I am keeping is getting so big.  She likes to curl up under my chin and will stay there for hours if I let her.

Judy good to see you.  Have you enjoyed the blueberries?

Well have a good rest everyone, and God Bless.

Good Morning Thank yoiu Pat for the devotional what does  "afflatus " mean I have never seen that word before.

I will be working for Jan on Tuesday afternoons and still on Thursday mornings. The young lady who will be working for Versal is the same young lady who took care of my dogs when I went to the hospital. She is a very nice Christian girl so I don't feel bad about leaving Versal. I know that someone trustworthy will be taking care of her.

See y-all later.

The light of God's holiness convicts the sinner and guides the saint.

Karma ~ I, too, first heard about Emmaus Walks 10-12 years ago and also thought it was a Methodist thing.  Here is a website that tells about the Emmaus Walk http://www.upperroom.org/emmaus/whatis/  It does seem to be, not secretive, but they don't go into detail about what goes on.

Marilyn ~ 'Afflatus' means...a divine imparting of knowledge or power:  INSPIRATION.  That is the definition in my Merriam-Webster's Collegiate Dictionary.

I am off to see Kitty this afternoon.  I got her birthday gift yesterday after it was on back order...so she is getting a late gift!

I'm late getting here today.  It's a chilly, damp day here in Guelph and I have some errands to do so I'm going to dress warmly.

It's really great to see all our new folk lately.  Please help us welcome them in the Introductions area if they have posted an intro and in here.  Also, it's so good to see you clicking on the little photos up top that I put in.  This is just a sampling of the great photos we have being added to our Gallery all the time.

If you haven't created your album as yet, please do and show us some of your work.

If you haven't added anything to your gallery lately, please share.  We love seeing your photos.

Hi everyone.  We are having a glorious day here in Georgia.  I just went out to the mailbox and could actually feel warmth in the sunshine so know spring for us can't be too far away.  However, tonight it is suppose to get a lot colder so we will enjoy today.

Papa John, hope you are able to bring Cornelia home today.  If they got the fluid taken care of she will likely start feeling better quickly.  However, it sounds like it is time for her to let others help her out.

Welcome to our new members.

Etta Sue, I loke you little kitten and thanks for the link and explanation of what that word met.  I think that word fits the category of words we really shouldn't use in writing since it would have little understanding among readers.  However, well educated folks sometimes can't help themselves.  Needless to say this has never been a problem for me.

JudyB, thanks for the information on your school holiday. We have similar holidays in our school system.

Janet, it sounds like the nurse over reacted a bit.  However, it is good to get on top of those problems.  Sorry you had to cancel your class as know you were looking forward to it.

Pat, thanks for the devotional.  It is another good one.

Liz, it sounds like you might need to invest in a boat.   ;)

Karmat, it sounds like you are working too hard.  Don't forget to save a minute or two for yourself.

Samantha, know these days are difficult for your family with your sister so ill.

Judy McKenna, good to see your posting.  I have been wondering if you were OK.  Hope you are feeling better.

See it is time for lunch and then will rest a bit this afternoon.

Its a cool sunny day here today-my husband is off for his first good snow run this year
Wishing you God's blessings today.

"And thou shalt rejoice in every good thing which the LORD thy God hath given unto thee, and unto thine house" (Deuteronomy 26:11).

"Blessed shalt thou be in the city, and blessed shalt thou be in the field. Blessed shall be the fruit of thy body, and the fruit of thy ground, and the fruit of thy cattle, the increase of thy kine, and the flocks of thy sheep. Blessed shall be thy basket and thy store. Blessed shalt thou be when thou comest in, and blessed shalt thou be when thou goest out. The LORD shall command the blessing upon thee in thy storehouses, and in all that thou settest thine hand unto; and he shall bless thee in the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee" (Deuteronomy 28:3-6, 8).

Janet

Etta Sue, thanks for that link.  So it is a Methodist/Upper Room thing, after all.  That said just about what my friends told me about it.

I went to Hugoton for another adjustment this morning.  I think it is helping a lot.  Abby was very unhappy that I couldn't bring her home with me, as she is out of school for parent-teacher conferences.  But I just HAVE to get busy on that painting tomorrow, and can't really concentrate when she's here, as she wants to paint, too.

I'm just checking in, see you later!

Hello everyone.  Welcome to the newcomers.

I'm getting ready to run to the store, but had to come see what you were saying and look at the new gallery postings.  I love looking at the new pictures. (always looking for an idea, ya know. :))

No rain right now.  I think I can see some blue midst all the clouds.  Maybe. lol

I have blossoms on my flowering plum, and exactly 2 daffodils blooming.  Make that one.  My grandson came two nights ago, and picked one for his mom.  He asked first.  I have lots that will bloom a little later.

Blessings on this beautiful day our Lord has given us.  Nita

Kreative4Jesus

Wow, it is so good to see everyone here.  I must check a few other things out & then I must get busy.

May God Bless You All,
K4J

TBear Good pictures.

Woohoo we have a new doctor.  Ous has changed direction and the original Doctor who started the clinic is back.  He spent 8 years in the USA, and boy do we see the difference here.  There were no patients in the waiting room and everything was on time.  That is a Big change.

John is back from his meetings, this is usually cadet night but we decided to all stay home and have a family night.

I am off for the night, I eill continue to pray for the needs mentioned here.

Oh Welcome to everyone new.

God Bless

Pat

Rose of Sharon
(Click to hear music)

Words and music by Alfred B. Smith and John Peterson

"I am the rose of Sharon, and the lily of the valleys."
Solomon 2:1

There's a Beautiful Rose ever blooming,
In the Garden of God's Love for me;
It has filled all the world with it's fragrance,
It will last for eternity.

Chorus
Rose of Sharon now blooming I see,
Blessed Jesus, who died on the tree;
With my whole heart I sing "Hallelujah!"
Rose of Sharon, so precious to me.

Precious Savior, I'll always adore Thee,
For with Thee no one else can compare;
By Thy Love so divine, I'm enraptured,
Thou are fairer than all of the fair.

Chorus
Rose of Sharon now blooming I see,
Blessed Jesus, who died on the tree;
With my whole heart I sing "Hallelujah!"
Rose of Sharon, so precious to me.

Are you lost in your sins ~ tired of living?
Is your heart filled with bitterness, too?
Come to Jesus, the sweet Rose of Sharon,
He has the power to make you anew.

Chorus
Rose of Sharon now blooming I see,
Blessed Jesus, who died on the tree;
With my whole heart I sing "Hallelujah!"
Rose of Sharon, so precious to me

I received the results of my Sleep tests in the mail today, I have to go back to the Sleep Clinic on the 19th to test again wearing the mask. They will work on adjusting the amount of the air pressure that will be the best for me. Then I will have an appointment with the supplier and get my CPAP Machine and mask.

Great to see Karen and K4J here today. Long time now see ya-ll.

Nita my plum tree is blooming too. My Calla Lilies haven't opened yet but the sure a lot of them and they are so tall they have just past the window frame of my bedroom window.  I have been pulling a few weeds every day from the flower patch in front of the house on my way to the mail box and back. I will  soon have them all gone, I have to get out there with the weed eater and clear the small patch of grass that is out there.

I can't wait to get out there and get  that done and get the new flower seeds  in the ground. Sarah and I collected seed when we went tot eh flower garden at the zoo last fall. We colled several types of Marigold seeds and a buch of other's I know what they look like but I don't recall the names. Some are real tall and look sort of like poppies but are something different. They will have to go over by the fence.

Well I have to go to the store I forgot to buy milk onthe way home today.

Well we brought Cornelia home today, just one week from the day we arrived at the hospital.

She has several new medications. Martha went to the pharmacist and I think we have everything we need. We had a tank of oxygen bring her home. The man came from the company and brought 4 more tanks and an oxygen generator. We will use the tanks when we go out. She goes back to see the cardiologist in two weeks.

I Jn 2:15-17
15   Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
16   For everything in the world-- the cravings of sinful man, the lust of his eyes and the boasting of what he has and does-- comes not from the Father but from the world.
17   The world and its desires pass away, but the man who does the will of God lives forever.

Papa John, I'm thankful Cornelia will be home with you and Martha. May she continued to improve.

It's been so good to read all the posts from the last few days.

I was really thankful for a stress-free, but busy day today. And, for meeting a new online friend as she passed through Nashville. Y'all don't forget that I'd love to meet you if you'll be within driving distance or if you come through Nashville.

Well, must go - everyone have a good evening.

Good evening from Coos Bay.  We're supposed to have a big storm tonight, high winds, huge 30 ft waves, and rain.  As always, there are warnings not to try to get too close to the waves tomorrow as everyone goes to look at them.

I posted a picture of some blossoms on my flowering plum.  I didn't notice the fly until I started cropping.  Cute little guy. :)

Marilyn, I just know you will be so happy when you start putting in your seeds and flowers in your new place.  I wonder what color your Callas will be?  I'm happy for you........that you have a place to "put down root".

Papa John, I know you're glad to have Cornelia home.  :)

JudyB, I get a new doctor too.  My last three doctors, well, including this one who will leave in April, have all left town.  This time I have a woman doctor from the Philipines(the spelling doesn't look right).  I meet her February 8th.  She looks really young, but then all doctors look really young to me.

TBear...nice photos of your family. :)

Gotta go check the wind.  My sister just called to check on me.  We're fine. haha

Janet

Papa John, I rejoice with you that Cornelia is home.  Isn't God good?  All the time!

Beth is doing well, and they will move her to a private room tomorrow.  They put another lady in with her today, but they are being very careful not to expose Beth to the respiritory crud that is sweeping the area.  Many little babies have been in the hospital with something called RSV, and so sick, poor little things. :(

We hosted my "Meltdown" team dinner tonight, and everyone had a good time.  Each member brought something for the meal.  I made vegetable soup and Hibiscus tea; Sharon made grilled marinated chicken breasts; Julie made a broccoli and cauliflower salad and Elida brought fresh fruit and yoghurt.  MMMMmmmm! (The men on the team brought their appetites.  ;) )

I'm tired and aching, so good night, see y'all later.
