Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Morning Devotional...

Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all.
1 Timothy 4:15

Meditation takes the veil off of the truth. Paul exhorts us to consider and ponder the word with a spiritual magnifying glass. Have we cultivated thispractice?

We live in a day of many conveniences, yet we find so little time to sit quietly and meditate over the Scriptures.

The result of this is manifested by our own weakness and lack of power with God and with men. Our advancement will appear unto all, if we meditate on the Scriptures.

May we be able to say, "Thy words were found, and I did eat them; and Thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart" (Jer. 15:16).

Good Morning. I have had my  :coffee:, spent time in the word and with the Lord, and checked my email.

Good Devotional Pat.

It was a long meeting last night. The Pastor was voted in as permanent after his first year with us, we  voted a deacon to a 3 year term and discussed a whole bunch of stuff. There were 5 NO votes on the pastor, this family has has a problem with him from the beginning and  were very verbal about how they felt to others in the church. A few weeks ago I went to the Pastor about it as it troubled me greatly.  These are  some of the members of the old Pastor's family. We can't please everyone can we?

Prayer Request

I need to make some changes in my life and I need prayer. When I took on this job to care for Pastor Leroy's wife, there was also another caregiver whom they have since fired . This is what is presenting the problem. I do not want all the  64 hrs. per month I don't need them and don't want them. They want me to work 5 days per week with Sunday off and my Tuesday that I work for Jan off. That means I am still working 6 days per week. I wanted so much to be able to go to WM's on Monday afternoons after leaving Fay's, and having Saturday afternoon off to take care of my own housework. Any way just pray that I will know the Lord's will on this matter. It is so difficult for me to say NO to people.

Pat:  Thanks for the words on meditation.  Why is that time so hard to find in our lives?  I used to find the time and really must do so again.  It is a "centering" time - a time to get lives in order.  I always think about the many years with the children at home and rising early to have a bit of quiet time while getting things ready for the day.

Marilyn:  I just about posted when your note came on - be sure to take care of yourself.  Six days a week means that there is just no time at all for you.

Carol

JudyB

Pat thank you for the devotional.

Marilyn you may have to re-evaluate the hours whith them  Let them know that you only have one day off and see what they say.  Financially can you manage on the new peoples hours?  If so perhaps give up the person on Tuesday?

A while back I told of Air Canada holding 30 000 dollars of short term missionaries.  There are 70 people involved in the mission trip and Air Canada is still holding the money.  My question is this does anyone have experience with a major corporation holding money back like this, and do you have any suggestions for retrieving it.  If you remember there was a major assault on the missionaries there and they had to flee Haiti.  The mission trip was to build homes for people in Haiti.

I have to take one of the puppies to the vet this AM.  She has a hernia on her tummie, by the left leg.  No putting this off as it is serious enough to kill her.  She is a sweet little pup.  The girls call her Snowy, as she was white when she was born.

Must go and get ready.

Al Moak

Well, we have to transport our friend Wesley and his little daughter Noelle to the doctor, then go to a different doc ourselves, then come back and get Wesley, then shop at the Co-op, then come home.  There, having said all that, maybe I can remember it now.

Marilyn, I pray our Father will give you His wisdom and leading.  As an outsider, it seems to me like the job with Pastor Leroy might be the best one, and that it might solve the problem to just keep that one and drop others.  But of course I do not have perfect foresight.  Better to take the Lord's direction.

Marilyn

Judy no way will I give up my tesday job, I have been with Jan for over a year and she pays me $10. per hour cash.  she is the nicest person  I have. The county only pays me $6.75.

Al The Pastor's wife is bedridden, I can not do the lifting the Pastor has to do it. I was only supposed to be doing the laundry and ironing and running errands and taking them to doctor appts. for them when I first signed on. She can walk but just doesn't. I was supposed to only be working 3 days a week for them. I have been with Fay for over 2 years and made a promise to her to stay with her until she either went into a home or went home to the Lord. She is 97 in July.

Carol, You are so right no time for me  am running 7 days per week. I have obligations at church on Sunday to be there  at 8:30 one hour earlier than anything starts. then back  there from 5 to 8 pm.

Larry, I will be going to Florida, leaving the 8th.  Wish we were there together and could meet somewhere for lunch.  I have had a busy week but next week will be better...until the 1st and every day from then until leaving for Florida is busy!  Better get some things done NOW!

I am praying that the no news from Papa John means Cornelia is improving.  God Bless them.

Last evening was our outting to the dinner theater.  The musical was 'The Phantom'.  Not my favorite.  Too dark and dreary.  But the singing and acting was superb.  And the food was delicious.

Today is 'do-nothing' day.  Actually, I hope a 'catch up' day....Catch up online and with TV programs.

Larry Hanna

Hi everyone.  I am not writing from the highway on our way to Florida as we have had to change our plans.  Yesterday afternoon Pat came home from her quilting guild meeting complaining of a severe headache, something she just very seldom has.  Then about 9 pm last evening she took her temperature and it was 3 degree too high and she started chilling.  She is in bed today and the fever seems to be gone but no way could we travel nor would we go if we would expose our friends and relatives.  So we are on a day-by-day until Friday and if we can't go then we won't go until sometime later.

I called the friends we had planned to spend the evening and night with in Florida and another couple we were stopping to see tomorrow on our way to St. Petersburg.  If we go we will try to see them on the way back early next week.

Janet, so sorry to hear of the passing of your mother-in-law.  It is always so difficult to lose a parent but we know that is something we all likely face particularly when our parents become aged.  I hope you won't miss your family gathering.

Marilyn, perhaps the pastor and his wife are not the folks you should be working for if they are demanding more than you can do.  You are to be commended for your loyalty to your word given to Fay.  However, I understand that this is a hard decision for you.

JudyB, glad to see you have gotten a new computer.  Hope the puppy is well soon.

Etta Sue, where do you go in Florida?

Pat, I sure hope you don't get streph infection.  You certainly don't need that.  Thanks for the devotional.

Good to see all of the other postings.

Hi to all,

Remember Me????

Did you miss me???

I have missed all of you and your dailly posting.

Update, my hubby is doing so well, you would never have thought
that we went through all of his cancer problems as well as we did.

But wait, we did expect it!!! We had our Heavenly Father's promise to answer our prayers and HE did.

Now I have to get my medical condition in tact....I forgot the rule of being a caregiver--to take care of yourself....

Now I will be monitoring my high pressure and cholestrol....Giving the problems to the LORD and already ; I can hear HIM loud and clear--diet and exercise and turn the day and night to HIM.

Going around to see what I missed these last few weeks.

Take care and as always,

Love in Christ,

Joyce

Puppy is well.  Kassie had the opportunity to watch this procedure.  It was interesting..

Marilyn I admire your dedication to your people.  I pray you can work this situation out.

Pat How are you now?  Praying for you sis.

How is Papa John?  And of course his beloved wife.

Janet how is Beth?  I have been off CP and have not gone back to check out all the past posts.

The house is cold. the fire is out and I have to get it going. I was warned not to let Snowy (the pup) get cold.

Bye for now and God bless.

Hi Pat & Judy and Everyone:

I just got back from the hospital. Had an angiogram.   I was nervous but so many people prayed for me that I could sense God's presence.  I looks like my arteries or (blood vessels) are super!   The cardiologist thought my arteries would be all blocked up, but found they were very healthy.   When I told him I was taking things like CoQ10 and lecithin, wheat germ and ground flax on my porridge, he kind of minimized it.   He said these won't hurt you but they are nothing more that an anti-oxident.   I wanted to say "Well how do you think my arteries got to be so clean and good?"   My cholestrol is up a little and he wants me to take a pill.   I might check out a healthy alternative.   If you know anything please let me know.    Thank you.

Love Ruthie

Janet

Hello everybody!

First, let me clear things up about Darrel's Mom.  She didn't pass away, she is in the hospital in Amarillo (where she lives now.)  I will call his sister again tonight and check on Mother.

Larry, I'm so sorry Pat is feeling bad and you are having to postpone your trip.  Maybe tomorrow she will be "fit as a fiddle!"  Anyway, I hope she will.

This has been another of THOSE days.  :tiredtread:  I went and walked a little over a mile on the treadmill, then swam a little over a quarter mile, until my arm started protesting.  So, after showering and washing my hair, I called Beth, and she had gotten her appointment changed to 11:00 today.  Darrel went with me, so he could load/unload the wheelchair.  Dr. P. sent us over to the hospital for an Xray of her hip, since it's still sore and hurts to bear any weight on it.  Back to Dr. P, who said the Xray looked fine, he wrote a script for a trapeze apparatus to hang above Beth's bed, hoping that will help her get into and out of bed without falling again.

Then we went to the Senior center to let Beth sit in the two seat-lift chairs they had to see if they fit her better than hers did.  Yes, so we came home, got Beth settled in her power chair, loaded her seat-lift chair and hauled it to town.  A kind man hekped to load the other chair, which is much heavier, and followed us home to help unload it.  (My arm says THANKS!!)  Then we moved her other recliner into the middle bedroom to make room for her exercise machine which was ordered yesterday.

I cleaned up some, put food away, etc. and finally got to come home.  That all took over three hours, and I am tired......again.  :(

I must get some things packed for our little trip.  I hope I can relax and have fun.  I was just listening to a doctor on TBN who was talking about how important it is to have some downtime.

Marilyn, you need to learn to say NO and keep some time for you, too.  Spoken (typed) by another of the same kind---hard to say NO types.

I am hoping for good news from Papa John.

Pat, please hurry and get well.

Judy, glad to see you back!  Beth isn't doing too well, home from the hospital for three days and has already fallen twice.  :-\

Ruthie, that's wonderful news about your great vascular health!!  And it is due to healthy eating and anti-oxidants, no matter if the dr. did pooh-pooh it!   ;)

I must get busy....right after I have a cup of hot green tea!  :coffee:

I am so tired. I didn't sleep last night, slept little the night before and Sunday night at the sleep Clinic  I didn't sleep much either, I have bible study tonight and I don't know if I am going to make it but I will try.

Only stayed at the Pastor's house for 2 hours today. I finished my work in about 1 hour and sat around talking for the other hour. That's not too bad.

My paycheck should have been here today but with Monday being a holiday I suppose it got hung up in the mail someplace. If it isn't here by tomorrow I am going to have to pay a couple of bills out of my savings account.

I am just having a cup of an unusual tea blend that I fixed up. It is green tea blended with Jasmine.

Hi all!  We got to go to the dr. again today.  Travis and Kristi were sick again.  One with two ear infections and two with upper respiratory infections.  Loverly.  I'm zonkered.  And tired too. ;)

Whoever had the high cholesterol -- Marilyn suggested something to me the other day, and there is a natural thing made out of red rice or somethng or the other.

Have a good night!

Larry Hanna

We won't be traveling tomorrow as Pat still had a temperature this afternoon.  I had to fix dinner so you all can feel sorry for her as I am not a cook.  However, I found that Kroger makes a good rotessorie lemon chicken and I can make salads and fix corn in the microwave so we certainly didn't starve.

It is time for choir practice so this will be very short tonight.  It is raining pretty heavily but I don't want to miss practice as we are learning our Easter music.  I had thought I would be away tonight so hadn't expected to attend.

10.00 p.m.
Time sure flies fast.

I got all of yesterdays little jobs done.  Had dinner in the oven waiting for our guests to arrive but instead we got a call - sorry I am too sick to come, we will be getting together another day for sure.  I gave Sue a call and she really felt to tired to join us.  Mel then put a couple of candles in the center of the table -  now you know the rest of the story we had candle light dinner.

Janet would it be possible for John to reason with Beth about her situation or would that work.  Our heads do not usually allow us to see how handicaped are.  Janet do your very best to get enough physical and mental rest.

Larry take good care of your wife.

Marilyn take care of yourself as well.
Pat:  I hope you are feeling some better.

Janet

Ruthie, I was taking Natural Cholesterol Balance, and will go back to it after I take the month's worth of Zetia the Dr. prescribed.  The same doctor told a friend of mine to take Policosonol (maybe al in the spelling) for her high cholesterol; that it will do as much as the statins.  You can get it without a prescription and it is not expensive.

Ruth, thanks so much for your concern.  I know we are going to have to do things differently; but Beth has to come to accept that fact, too.  And I really don't think John would be much help in this decision process.  He doesn't face reality much better than Beth does.

They had said the group would be leaving early in the morning to go to the family camp; and tonight they said 9 AM.  I sure don't consider that early!!  I told them that's nearly NOON!   ;)  Anyway, I hope we can have a good time.  They called and learned there is NO SNOW there, which is a big disappointment, but we will find things to do.
