JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Morning Devotional...

Even More Parables
Matthew 13:44-52  NLT

44"The Kingdom of Heaven is like a treasure that a man discovered hidden in a field. In his excitement, he hid it again and sold everything he owned to get enough money to buy the field--and to get the treasure, too!

45"Again, the Kingdom of Heaven is like a pearl merchant on the lookout for choice pearls. 46When he discovered a pearl of great value, he sold everything he owned and bought it!

47"Again, the Kingdom of Heaven is like a fishing net that is thrown into the water and gathers fish of every kind. 48When the net is full, they drag it up onto the shore, sit down, sort the good fish into crates, and throw the bad ones away. 49That is the way it will be at the end of the world. The angels will come and separate the wicked people from the godly, 50throwing the wicked into the fire. There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. 51Do you understand?"

   "Yes," they said, "we do."

52Then he added, "Every teacher of religious law who has become a disciple in the Kingdom of Heaven is like a person who brings out of the storehouse the new teachings as well as the old."

How and where did you find the hidden treasure?

The Kingdom of Heaven is more valuable than anything else we can have, and a person must be willing to give up everything to obtain it.

The man who discovered the treasure in the field stumbled upon it by accident but knew its value when he found it.

The merchant was earnestly searching for the pearl of great value, and when he found it, he sold everything he had to purchase it.

If you have accepted Christ as your Savior, you, too, have found the treasure.  Nothing is more valuable, and nothing is more important to share with others.

:'( I know several of you have been to the Gaither Homecoming concerts in the past so I wanted to let you know that Anthony Burger (the piano player) passed away last night on the Gaither cruise.  They say he was playing the piano at the time.  We Shall Behold Him was the song he was playing.    So sad for his family. :'(

I hope everyone has a great day, and all who are feeling sick start to feeling better!

We Shall Behold Him
(Click to hear music)

Words and Music by Dottie Rambo

For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
1 Thessalonians 4:16-17

The sky shall unfold, preparing His entrance;
The stars shall applaud Him with thunders of praise.
The sweet light in His eyes shall enhance those a waiting,
And we shall behold Him then face to face.

Chorus
And we shall behold Him, we shall behold Him
Face to face in all of His glory;
And we shall behold Him, Yes, we shall behold Him
Face to face, our Saviour and Lord.

The angels shall sound the shout of His coming,
The sleeping shall rise from their slumbering place.
And those who remain shall be changed in a moment,
And we shall behold Him then face to face.

Chorus
And we shall behold Him, we shall behold Him
Face to face in all of His glory;
And we shall behold Him, Yes, we shall behold Him
Face to face, our Saviour and Lord.
We shall behold Him, our Saviour and Lord.

Ruthie I posted a link yesterday to the Nature Made website so you could check out Cholest-off and Janet posted some natural things too.

I must apologize for asking for prayer yesterday. Last night I realized that this new job is an answer to a prayer of my own and I have been complaining about the opportunity God has provided for me to earn enough $$ to pay my bills.  I have asked the Lord so many times to allow me to be a blessing to all those I come in contact with each day. So today I am praising God for answering my prayers.

Thanks Etta Sue for today's devotional.

Hello to all newcomers-Welcome-Dougster-Brixie-and Butterfly.
Its a cold day here today------But my husband loves it because he is able to go on a ski doo run today.
I am off to my ladies prayer meeting this afternoon-praying for revival across the land.

I am back just a few hours later....I got a good night's rest and feel much better today.  I think the past week finally caught up with me.

Is anyone watching Figure Skating at the Olympics?  These men and women sure are pushing themselves for the Gold!  Amazing what can be done on a blade of steel.

It is above freezing today with a bright sunshine shining in my windows.  I got a call saying my taxes were done so will probably get them and get them in the mail!  I always get money back from Federal but State, I always have to pay.  So it evens out!

Nita

Good morning.

Pat, I pray this Strep Throat thing eases quickly.  My son in law had a really bad sore throat too.  He kept working, and it feeling better now.  I was thinking he should stay home........but you know how guys are "there's no one else to do it right now".

I bathed both dogs yesterday.  That took about all my energy. :)  I really need to mow, but unless I bag it, they'll just bring it right back in.  Maybe I'll just do the front....the part the world sees. haha  Rain is in the forecast, and if I wait, it'll be much longer before I can mow.  Maybe by then a good strong guy will volunteer.  Ya think?  NOT. haha  All my strong guys are out of town.

Got my camera batteries recharged so if I get out, I'll take it with me.  I don't get out much.  I'm becoming such a stay at home.

Have a blessed day, y'all  Nita

Hi Gord...

Your test worked!  Nice to hear your lovely Scottish brogue on the telephone!

HI NOREEN!!!

"Click for Waterloo Wellington, Ontario Forecast"

Gord Brown

Hi to all and thank you for the continued prayer for my wife Noreen.
In answer to the appointment that she had  last week to see the surgeon we did not get the answer that we thought.  The surgeon came in and explained the x-rays to us then asked a lot of questions and asked to do some different movements which of course she could not do .  He explained to her about csar tissue and arthritis and says that is what is causing the pain , but if he operated it would cause more scar tissue and he does not have a crystal ball so he said no surgery so please continue to pray for her as she is down.  But the Lord does give strength.

Etta Sue   Thank you for the devotional and what a blessing, and hope that you feel better.

Hi Ruthie  I hope that you know that people are praying for you and send me your e-mail address and I will tell you about some natural products.  Mine is   ngbrown@cogeco.ca hope to here from you.

Pat  Please look after yourselve as strepped throat can be so dangerous. My father in law got it and he ended up in the hospital so please do what the doctor told you to do. The Lord will give you the strength for each day. We all  love and are praying for you.

Pappa John.  Hope that your wife is doing better and continuing to pray for you both.

Marilyn  Praise the Lord for how he supplies for us and how he teaches us  things in his ways and not always the ways that we want things to go.  Just keep the faith and he will give you the strength for each day.   PRAISE HIS NAME.

Nice devotional, Etta Sue.  Thanks.

This must be a very well travelled virus, 'cause it has made me quite ill the past few days.  What is this...hands across the border, sort of thing???  Hope you feel better Pat.  I went outside to help Wendy with something on Tuesday and spent all day yest. in bed.  Made the bug worse!

See that our Cdn. Women Curlers have won the Bronze and the men are going to try for Gold tomorrow.  Way to go!  I used to be an avid curler when younger and love to watch the games.  Lots of folks think it is like watching paint dry...but what do they know  :clobber:

Glad that you were able to make a decision, Marilyn.  Sometimes, life can give us too many choices....

Hope things are okay with Papa John's wife....will continue to pray for them.  Must go now, trying to do laundry and must lie down again.

Looked at your photo's Janet and much impressed.

Pleasant Day/Evening and God Bless.

. . . take up his cross daily and follow me. Luke 9:23

You do not make your own cross, although unbelief is a master
carpenter at cross-making; neither are you permitted to choose your
own cross, although self-will wants to be lord and master. But your
cross is prepared and appointed for you by divine love, and you must
cheerfully accept it; you are to take up the cross as your chosen
badge and burden, and not to stand complaining. This night Jesus bids
you submit your shoulder to His easy yoke.

The Holy Spirit: Ungifted Hands

For it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good
pleasure.
--Philippians 2:13

The important thing is that the Holy Spirit desires to take us and
control us and use us as instruments and organs through whom He can
express Himself in the body of Christ. Perhaps I can use my hands
as a further illustration of this truth.

My hands are about average, I suppose--perhaps a little large for
the size of my body, probably because I had to do a lot of farm
work when I was a boy. But there is something I must tell you
about these hands. They cannot play a violin. They cannot play
the organ or the piano. They cannot paint a picture. They can
barely hold a screwdriver to do a small repair job to keep things
from falling apart at home. I have ungifted hands....

You will agree that it would be foolish for me to try to bring
forth any delightful organ music using such ungifted hands. Is it
not appalling, then, to think that we allow this very thing to
happen in the body of Christ? We enlist people and tell them to
get busy doing God's work, failing to realize the necessity of
the Spirit's control and functioning if there is to be a
spiritual result.  Tragedy in the Church: The Missing Gifts,
30-31.

"Lord, maybe the reason we enlist ungifted people is that the
gifted people aren't functioning properly, aren't using the gifts
you gifted them with. Move in our midst, Holy Spirit, that
everyone in the Body might actively serve, each one using the
gift He's been given for Your service. Amen."

Welcome to Dougster, Brixi & Butterfly

A prayer for everyone who is feeling ill or has family members not well.

Larry:  We picked up a pre-made pizza for tonight as I have to help set up books in the mall for a big sale - there is nothing wrong in making our lives a bit easier.  I hope that Pat gets better really quickly.

Etta Sue:  Such a cute giraffe!

Joyce:  My doctor had me put in more time walking plus cholesterol medicine and it is just great numbers now.

lRuthie:  Super news on your angiogram!

Pat:  The music is so soothing and nice.  Years ago whenver I had strep throat it meant I was pregnant       That is really hard to beat so please take it easy.  I wish that I could bring you some of the turkey soup.

Chris Saunders:  No one has ever asked me to sing in the church choir (much too soft of a voice) but I can be used as an instrument of other things - it is so easy to work in the kitchen or help with ideas for a committee so there is a place for these things too - thanks for your good words today.

I am up to my ears over the annual book sale.  Must work hauling books after 9 P.M. tonight to the mall, help set-up (thousands of books) and be there before 7 A.M. tomorrow morning or otherwise books just disappear.  Not alone, Don is helping tonight.

Carol

Pat

Nice to see everyone today.

Maybe Papa John will pop in later to give us an update on Cornelia.

Continuing to pray for Noreen, Gord.  Sorry things didn't work out for her the way you were thinking that they might.

It's nice to be able to cheer for two countries.  Shizuka Arakawa was so confident in her skating--and the result is GOLD.  It was good to see Japan finally get a medal.  They usually do so well in the winter games.

Now there will be nothing on TV today, but the story of that one gold medal...kinda funny how that goes.

Thank you Marilyn, I am going to try a natural remedy for cholesterol.  My cardiologist said to get Crestor or Lipitor.   But I don't think so!  Will bring it down naturally.   I think the reason it's up is because I haven't been walking like I used to before I retired.

My friend read about Anthony Berger on the Gaither website.  He was only 44 years old and after playing "We shall behold Him"  he collapsed and they could not revive him.  They think it was a massive heart attack.    Wow.   I think he probably taxed his heart.  He was so energetic while he played.    Anthony had a wife and 2 sons.
