Janet: Hello, Friends!  Let's get this going again!  I miss  hearing from all of you! 2025-01-23, 19:26:16

Don: Hey Judy, It's been a long time. Hope you are doing well. 2024-12-02, 22:41:41

JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Morning Devotional...

MOSES UNDER FIRE
Numbers 12:1-16 NIV

Miriam and Aaron began to talk against Moses because of his Cushite wife, for he had married a Cushite.  "Has the LORD spoken only through Moses?" they asked. "Hasn't he also spoken through us?" And the LORD heard this.

(Now Moses was a very humble man, more humble than anyone else on the face of the earth.)

At once the LORD said to Moses, Aaron and Miriam, "Come out to the Tent of Meeting, all three of you." So the three of them came out.  Then the LORD came down in a pillar of cloud; he stood at the entrance to the Tent and summoned Aaron and Miriam.  When both of them stepped forward, he said, "Listen to my words:  "When a prophet of the LORD is among you, I reveal myself to him in visions, I speak to him in dreams.  But this is not true of my servant Moses; he is faithful in all my house.  With him I speak face to face, clearly and not in riddles; he sees the form of the LORD.  Why then were you not afraid to speak against my servant Moses?"

The anger of the LORD burned against them, and he left them.  When the cloud lifted from above the Tent, there stood Miriam--leprous, like snow. Aaron turned toward her and saw that she had leprosy; and he said to Moses, "Please, my lord, do not hold against us the sin we have so foolishly committed.  Do not let her be like a stillborn infant coming from its mother's womb with its flesh half eaten away."

So Moses cried out to the LORD , "O God, please heal her!"

The LORD replied to Moses, "If her father had spit in her face, would she not have been in disgrace for seven days? Confine her outside the camp for seven days; after that she can be brought back."

So Miriam was confined outside the camp for seven days, and the people did not move on till she was brought back.  After that, the people left Hazeroth and encamped in the Desert of Paran.

What do you do when you find yourself feeling jealous of someone?

People often argue over minor disagreements, leaving the real issue untouched.

Miriam and Aaron were really jealous of Moses' position and influence.  Since they could not find fault with the way Moses was leading the people, they chose to criticize his wife.

When you are in a disagreement, stop and ask yourself if you are arguing over the real issue or if you have introduced a smoke screen by attacking someone's character.

If you are unjustly criticized, remember that your critics may be afraid to face the real problem.  Don't take this type of criticism personally.

Ask God to help you identify the real issue and deal with it.

Envision them melting into a blob on the floor all because of my icy stare and then being mopped up and tossed out?
Is it too late to plead the fifth?  :o

I enjoyed the devotional today, too.  When I think how much the Isreaelites grumbled and complained, I am tempted to think "Those ungrateful people!  They would have deserved it if God just wiped all of them out except for Moses, Josua and Caleb!"  Then I think how often I am guilty of murmuring and complaining myself, even if only inwardly (and He can read my thoughts .)  And I have to thank God for His mercy, and for the record of the Israelites and how often He had to forgive them.  Praise God!  His mercies are new every morning!

This is painting class day again, and I also have framing to work on, so I won't lack for things to do.  (As if I ever do!  ;))

Time to go find some oatmeal or something.  Later!

Hi Everyone...

If our server move took place, it seems to have taken place fine.  But they are moving the servers all day so maybe ours hasn't happened yet.

It's very cold here and the snow is deep so I think I'll be staying put in the house today.

I'm so happy that Etta Sue got the devotionals ready for her two days while she is away in Florida and I just have to move them out here.  Neat, eh?

Oops, phone is ringing...  I'll be back.

Hi to all,

Sorry that I can not post to each one of you but since I was gone ; well,
there are just so many postings ....

More snow expected in Jersey so I won't be hanging around too long.

Have pork chops defrosting --making them with potatoes and sugar peas
in cream of mushroom soup --can't get easier than that!!!

Hate to see so many with so many problems.

The bad thing about problems and concentrating
on our difficulties is that it takes our focus away from the LORD.

When we concentrate so much on our problem, the devil is happy 'cause you
are spending more time worrying and less time with the Lord and HIS word.

When I realize that--I stopped--I do not want to give the devil any time so
I just give all my problems to the Lord.

A great message from Joyce Meyer this morning--she was saying how we ask
the Lord to help us and HE does--we hear HIS words/message and then go
on and try to do things ourselves, our way, our timing--and then wonder why
we can't get it done.

So we cry out to HIM to help us and then the same thing happens when we
feel a little pain during it HIS way--we go the other way ; where it is safer
and easier.

Her great statement --"there is no padded cross---no way"
Get in the word and let the spirit fill you up with strength to carry on in
HIS timing, in HIS way.

She said it better than I but I hope you got the "meat" of her statement.

Going around to other postings, will try and get back later.

Love in Christ,

Joyce

Good morning everyone.

Jim, I tried to enter the Digital Art Challenge, but my pic wouldn't show.  Someone will come along and figure out what I did wrong. :-\ ;D

Today is the day that Rocko and Tyson get their first haircuts!  I can't wait to see what they look like. :D

phone call....have to run.

I'm off today and should be doing housework, and I will! Really! Just not right now.  ;D
I took a shower and I'm gonna go get some Benadryl. I'm allergic to something but I'm not POSITIVE what it is. I got bit by a tiny black ant the other day and I'm very allergic to them so I'm guessing that's it, but this is the worst reaction I've ever had, with a rash all over, watery eyes, huge hives. Usually the reaction is located to where the bite is, like if it's on my leg the reaction will affect half my leg, etc.. I certainly hope it isn't a sign that it will get worse each time, because ants are everywhere!!!!

While I'm out I may go look at scanners, hopefully I find a decent one and can have it set up within the week.
Anyone have any recommendations? Think quality, but also think affordable. The last one I had came with the computer so I have no idea on what they normally cost, but I'm setting aside about $150. Sound about average or no?

Glory to His Name
(Click to hear music)

Ascribe to the Lord the glory due His Name.
Psalm 29:2

Words: Elisha A. Hoffman, in Joy to the World, by Tullius O?Kane, C. C. McCabe, and John Sweney (Cincinnati, Ohio: Hitchcock & Walden, 1878).

Music: John H. Stockton

Down at the cross where my Savior died,
Down where for cleansing from sin I cried,
There to my heart was the blood applied;
Glory to His Name!

Refrain
Glory to His Name,
glory to His Name:
There to my heart was the blood applied;
Glory to His Name!

I am so wondrously saved from sin,
Jesus so sweetly abides within;
There at the cross where He took me in;
Glory to His Name!

Refrain

Oh, precious fountain that saves from sin,
I am so glad I have entered in;
There Jesus saves me and keeps me clean;
Glory to His Name!

Refrain

Come to this fountain so rich and sweet,
Cast thy poor soul at the Savior's feet;
Plunge in today, and be made complete;
Glory to His Name!

Refrain

The Holy Spirit: An Instrument for God to Use

If anyone speaks, let him speak as the oracles of God. If anyone
ministers, let him do it as with the ability which God supplies,
that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to
whom belong the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.
--1 Peter 4:11

To please God, a person must be just an instrument for God to use.
For a few seconds, picture in your mind the variety of wonderful
and useful appliances we have in our homes. They have been
engineered and built to perform tasks of all kinds. But without
the inflow of electrical power they are just lumps of metal and
plastic, unable to function and serve. They cannot do their work
until power is applied from a dynamic outside source.

So it is in the work of God in the church. Many people preach and
teach. Many take part in the music. Certain ones try to
administer God's work. But if the power of God's Spirit does not
have freedom to energize all they do, these workers might just as
well stay home.

Natural gifts are not enough in God's work. The mighty Spirit of
God must have freedom to animate and quicken with His overtones
of creativity and blessing.  Tragedy in the Church: The Missing
Gifts, 5-6.

"Lord, deliver us from our dependency on natural gifts. We hunger
for effectiveness in Your work, but too seldom turn loose to let
Your power flow through us. Amen."

Back from Eureka now and Fay has already prepared her own dinner (lunch). Instead of going to the Sizzler we went to the Chinese Buffet there by the Red Lion nn. MMMMMMMM Good food and lots of it. I spent about $25. too much mostly on the dogs, treat and a head halter as they both still try to pull me down the street when we walk. I have spent so much on walking collars regular collars, harnesses now a halter. Ruth Ann recommended the halter as she uses on for her big dog.

Yesterday I strained my back moving crates and boxes around in the spare room sorting out the stuff I am gettting rid of  and storing packing other stuff for the move. I am sotring through ALL the boxes that I have never unpaced since moving here and getting rid of the excess. I gave Gilbert some photos of the family last night when he came for a visit.

Beautiful message and TBEAR the photos you posted are really neat!

Papa John

Well this week is moving right along.  Last week there was a Winter Fest in Gatlinburg where thousands of Christian young people met for a great rally.  We had 175 of our young people who attended.  They were back for the evening service Sunday.  It is amazing how excited our young people can get and how dedicated to the Lord meetings like this can engender.

Good to see you all.  Welcome to the new ones who have come to Christian Photographers.

Tomorrow we are going on the church bus to a couple's retreat which will be in Birmingham.  We always enjoy our couple's retreat.  Cornelia and I are always the oldest ones there.  Before we leave to come back on Sunday morning we will have our worship at the hotel.  Our leader asked me this morning to speak at that service an I have just finished getting up my little talk.

I plan to use this scripture for the text:

Col 3:12-15  Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.  Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.  And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.  Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful.  (NIV)

Eph 2:8-9  For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-- and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God-- not by works, so that no one can boast.(NIV)

Tbear - I DON'T want to be where those photos were taken!  It reminds me much to much of the street we used to live on in Philadelphia in about January.

Papa John - I pray those words will be taken to heart by those who attend.

Papa John:  Thats a beautiful scripture verse.  I'd sure like to sit under your ministry.  Both you and Al Moak's.....wonderful!

Tbear:  I feel chilly just looking at the pictures!...LOL

Marilyn:  I'm sure Gilbert appreciated the family photos.  Fay continues to amaze me with what she can do!

Hi Everyone, I just got home from work.   My eye is getting better.   Starting to see a little more clearer in the eye I had the operation in.   Apparently it could take 6 weeks.

Jim, you must live in a hot country.   There is no going to the beach up here in Toronto Canada, just playing in the snow.

Hi Joyce, while I am posting I am also listening to a CD of Christian Trumpet Praise Music by Raul D'Oliveira.  I heard him at Peoples Church with a group.   Just fabulous!  It certainly takes you away from concentration on our troubles and lifts you heavenward.   Raul used to work with well known artists like Elton John and Petula Clark.  In 1985 he had an encounter with God which radically changed his whole outlook and understanding to life.  He got involved with Graham Kendrick   and now travels the world playing and singing with him.

Great message from Joyce Meyer.

Chris I agree with you about the Holy Spirit empowering us to serve God.  Many times when I go out door to door with EE and get talking to the false religions and cults, I just open my mouth and I hear myself saying things that I know comes from God.  Before we go we ask the Holy Spirit to give us the words and speak to the people ahead of time.   Last Tuesday a young fellow from Romania accepted Christ in the hallway of his building.   Myself and my 2 trainees were just thrilled and again marvelled at how God works.

Hi Papa John, I have been to Birmingham many years ago.   Loved it in England.  I went with Pat's Father, my Uncle Ian.    We stayed at an old farmhouse, ( over 100 years )   Saw a lamb born and a dog fight.   Wonderful memories.  Love that scripture Col 3:12-15.

Hi Al, long time no talk.  Hope you are doing good.

Hi Judy, how are you?   I'm still listening to Raul the trumpet player and he is playing "His love still amazes me"

Pat, are you home yet?   How are you feeling.  Remember Brian & I are coming to see you on March 12th.   Hope I feel okay after my colonoscopy and gastroscopy. yuk!  ttyl

Janet

Well, another day has gone.  They fly by so fast any more, don't they?  I decided to work on listing things for my will, and then got started sorting through stuff in my painting room and trying to discard some.........had my class..........then spent the evening sorting photos while watching a couple shows on TV.  I have SO many photos, don't know that I will ever get them all sorted!

TBear, those photos are really something!  WHERE were they taken?  Obviously by some body of water; but where?  That last one looks like a gift-wrapped van---gift-wrapped in ICE, that is!  Hope they had warmer days soon!  Wow.  I do hope you get good reports from your medical tests.

Papa John, what a lovely text to speak on for a couples retreat.  Wish Darrel and I could be there to listen to and benefit from your wisdom.  God bless you and Cornelia, and have a wonderful time.

I voted in the new contest.  Sure a lot of variations on that photo!  Amazing.

Hi, Pat!  Hi Ruthie!  Hi Joyce!  Hi Ruth Ann!  Hi Everybody!!  ;D
