JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Oldiesmann: So sorry for your loss Carol. Praying for you and your family :( 2022-05-01, 17:13:05

joyce robson

hi to all you "busy posters"

Hope the weekend was good for all of you.

I was in Penna. and was suppose to go to a Winter Festival(dog sledding; snowman building --the works-everything outside in 20 degrees temp with about a foot of snow)

I got an earache and sore throat and told everyone to go and me and doggie would stay home and watch TV

I , usually, watch Charles Stanley on TV(which I did in the morning) but I don't know Penna tv channels so as I "surfed" I found Dr. David Jermiah( I think that is the way it was spelled on Turning Point)

He was discussing Rapture and the Second Coming of Jesus.

He had a very good discussion--thinks that I weren't sure of were made clearer.

I am so glad I was sick to see that show.

Then I thought of Al, Lee, Iian, Papa John, Chris and others who have more bible knowledge than I and I
wanted to know if you can just clarify between the
two -- RAPTURE AND THE SECOND COMING OF JESUS
CHRIST--
in lay man terms for all who want to know.

I know you are all busy but if you can; please do.

I know dear Al has a wonderful study section on Revelations on Senior Net but maybe you can clarify the two differences here.

Thanks for your time,

Great seeing you all here,

Love in Christ,
Joyce

Joyce - many believe that the rapture and the second coming of our Lord are one great event.  Others believe that the believers will be caught up and taken out of the world and that the second coming will be later.  I'm not about to solve the question here, since many, many theologians have attempted to solve it for the last 2,000 years!  Suffice it to say that I believe in one great event, at which time the great Judgement will also occur.  We're told in Revelation that "every eye shall see Him" when He comes.  At that time unbelievers will realize how wrong they've been and will realize also that they must be judged.  Their terror will be unbounded.  The rest of us, however, will be "caught up together to meet the Lord in the air," and so we shall be forever with the Lord.  I (only I, not everyone) believe that, having joined our Lord upon His descent, we shall continue with Him in His return to this earth.  I bellieve we shall then join Him in judging the people of this world and then rule and reign with Him forever and ever.
As I've said, though, there are many other beliefs about these things in these days.  I believe we should be tolerant with one another about it.

Joyce,, here is a typical "Rapture" website.
There are many, and they mostly differ in content in some way.

http://www.wholeperson-counseling.org/ndoc2/rapture.html

This is because the  scriptural writings concerning the rapture and the end of the world as we know it can be open to various interpretations by many different Christian groups.

So depending on which group of Bible scholars you believe,  ....
But arguing about these  beliefs lead to many schisms.
Sometimes love goes out the window in these arguments!

Janet

Thanks for that, Chris.  That is the reason Pat would rather that particular subject not be discussed too much in here; we love each other and do not want schisms to develop! ;D

We can agree, or agree to disagree without being disagreeable!  And I will keep my opinion to myself! ;) ;D

Joyce, I like listening to Dr. David Jeremiah, too.  He's a good teacher/preacher, IMO.

I have been checking in here off and on since I came home form work. I am only working 3 hours 3 days a week for Fay now,(still working for Bea though) She had to hire another person to work the days I am not there so she had to divide up the hours between the two of us. I am praying to get on with Brother and Sister Bay from my church, My pastor has been trying to get me on with them for some time but Sister Bay is in and out of the hospital so much that we haven't been able to get together. This would be a private pay job.

It is so nice that everyone is visiting the New Here thread and intorducing themselves. I'm sure that when the guests are able to ding in and read that folder they will feel welcome here.

My day has been pain free, Thank you Jesus!!!. Forest was here for a few hours playing on my computer. I've loaded a couple of their cames into the computer so they don'thave to keep bringing over the CD's

Great job, Papa John.  The answer is indeed Psalms...

TRUST AND OBEY[/u]
(Click to hear music)

When we walk with the Lord
in the light of his word,
what a glory he sheds on our way!
While we do his good will,
he abides with us still,
and with all who will trust and obey.

Refrain:
Trust and obey,
for there's no other way
to be happy in Jesus,
but to trust and obey.

Not a burden we bear,
not a sorrow we share,
but our toil he doth richly repay;
not a grief or a loss,
not a frown or a cross,
but is blest if we trust and obey.

(Refrain)

But we never can prove
the delights of his love
until all on the altar we lay;
for the favor he shows,
for the joy he bestows,
are for them who will trust and obey.

(Refrain)

Then in fellowship sweet
we will sit at his feet,
or we'll walk by his side in the way;
what he says we will do,
where he sends we will go;
never fear, only trust and obey.

(Refrain)

Pat - I love the words to "Trust and Obey".  It couldn't be simpler, now could it.  In fact I'm singing it as I type. 9sorry if I'm a little off key)...LOL

Marilyn - I'm so glad you are "pain free".  I wish I had you here to give me a hand with the cleaning.

I had a few of my neoghbours in this afternoon for tea and cake and ice cream.  They are all non-believers.  When I said Grace, they each commented on how "nice" it was that I was "religious".. Gosh, I hate that term..."religious"...don't you?  I replied, well, I'm not religious, I'm a Christian.  Then there was a cool silence.  I had to quickly change the subject.

Pat, I can hear you knocking via Yahoo....LOL

I'll go and answer you!...haha.

Love... Judy ;D

Here I am, folks, but probably not for long.  Work tomorrow which means setting the alarm to get up early.   I probably don't need to - I usually wake up about 10 mintues before it's due to go off.  But just in case...    :o

While I was at the grocery store this afternoon Gene got a phone call from a "Richard" on Joyce Meyer's staff.  We've been "partners" for a few years and he was calling to acknowledge our financial and prayer support.  Wasn't that a nice touch?

Again, four pages of posting before I get here, so I'll just greet all of the CP family and wish everyone a most blessed evening.

Love you all!!!

It is still early here on the Lost Coast of California, it has been rather cold today, My utility bill for the past month was more than I expected it to be, heat was up more than half again. So I am going to crawl into my nice warm bed heated by and electric blanket and watch tV for awhile before I go to sleep. But I am saying Good Night now and God Bless all of my family here on CP.

Thanks for the devotional Pat.  Your husband's words both comfort and inspire.

The groundhog must have had a bad time here on the island.  We have had snow and rain all day.  Bleak and grey.  Nice and warm inside and that is where I stayed!

Interesting posts today and I agree about Revelations.  Enough to know that good things are ahead and we will be part of all that happens.

I also like Bill Murrey and 'Groundhog Day.'  Hope you and your son enjoyed the movie Jenny.  Today's paper was again talking about Mel Gibbson's movie.  It seems to be getting a great deal of publicity.  Rather like half-time on the Super Bowl.  Controversy reigns supreme.

Here's a thought:  When the inventor of the drawing board messed things up...what did he go back to???

God Bless and pleasant dreams all.  Liz

Pat

HAHAHAHA!!!  Good one, Liz!  "Back to the drawing board"  I must remember that one for sure.

(Thanks for the nice words about Jack's writings.  I almost said, "I'll go and let him know.")  :'(

Have you guys ever heard of the singer "Scott Wesley Brown"?  He sings a song "I'm not religious, I just love the Lord" I love that song.

Any how...I am heading to bed.

Lila Mae is now sleeping in her toddler bed for the second nite in a row.  She is upstairs crying so I better get off here.

Soni

Go Lila Mae!!  We gotta get Trav in his toddler bed sometime.  Right now, though, he is such a "thrasher" he would end up on the floor. ::)

I've heard of SWBrown, but I'm not hearing the songin my head right now.

I think I'll go look at some pictures.

Judy I agree We are not religious we instead have a relationship.  We are satisfied customers that don't need fire insurance!

I have Victor this week.  He is having a rough time so Bonnie has given him and her a break for the week.  Pray that God will give me strength, as he is a handful.

John had his trip change 3 times from friday afternoon.  The end result is he has gone to Colorado.  He has a trainee with him,  so he has company.  Keep him in your prayers too, he is very tired.

The end times scenario is all VERY interesting.  I love to listen and discuss.  Unfortunately I have seen the subject separate families, and that is not good.  It seems it is the only Biblical topic that does this, I wonder why when Revelation says that "Whoever reads the book will be blessed?"

WEll it is late, a bit early for Pat to bonk me, but I better send this off before she does.

Love to all
JudyB

Thanks Jane!  Yes, in Acts 16:1 it says...

Then came he to Derbe and Lystra: and, behold, a certain disciple was there, named Timotheus, the son of a certain woman, which was a Jewess, and believed; but his father was a Greek:
