HAPPY BIRTHDAY DANIEL
on JANUARY 1!!

If you're running a 26-mile marathon,
remember that every mile is run one step at a time.
If you are writing a book, do it one page at a time.
If you're trying to master a new language,
try it one word at a time.
There are 365 days in the average year. Divide any project by 365
and you'll find that no job is all that intimidating.

Please check out the topic I posted in the Prayer Request area.

The Gospel for Asia is keeping us posted on the situation there with our brothers and sisters in the Lord.  Pastor Yohannan is leaving in a couple of days for the area and we'll then hear more news from him of the devestation.

Morning Devotional...

They gave Him a piece of a broiled fish....
Luke 24:42

Worship is giving to the Lord that which brings Him delight.

The risen Lord Jesus had asked His disciples for something to eat. His hunger was not of necessity but of desire, and to show that He really indwelt a risen body.

All they had was a piece of fish and an honeycomb--not much of a banquet for the risen Lord of the Universe! But they gave it to Him, and "He took it and did eat it."

We may not feel we have what He is worthy of, but let us bring all we can to Him in worship and He will accept it.
--J. Boyd Nicholson

O Lord, enlarge my scanty thought,
To know the wonders Thou hast wrought,
Unloose my stammering tongue to tell,
Thy love immense, unsearchable.

Alas! and did my Saviour bleed[/b]
(Click title to hear music)

Alas! and did my Saviour bleed,
and did my Sovereign die?
Would He devote that sacred head
for such a worm as I?

Was it for crimes that I had done
He groaned upon the tree?
Amazing pity! grace unknown!
and love beyond degree!

Well might the sun in darkness hide,
and shut His glories in,
When Christ, the Mighty maker, died
for man, the creature's sins.

Thy body slain, sweet Jesus, Thine -
and bathed in its own blood -
While the firm mark of Wrath Divine
His soul in anguish stood.

Thus might I hide my blushing face
while his dear Cross appears;
Dissolved my heart in thankfulness,
and melt mine eyes to tears.

But drops of grief can ne'er repay
the debt of love I woe;
Here, Lord, I give myself away-
'til all that I can do.

In November, 1850, thirty year old Fanny Crosby had been attending numerous revival meeting and had answered the altar call, hoping to find peace for her soul. But on the 20th of the month, the audience began to sing “Alas! and Did My Savior Bleed,” a hymn written by Isaac Watts in 1707. It was when they sang the words, “Here, Lord I give myself away - ‘tis all that I can do,” that Fanny realized that all she needed was to yield herself. She said: “I surrendered myself to the Saviour, and my very soul flooded with celestial light. I sprang to my feet, shouting ‘Hallelujah.’”

Isaac Watts said of his hymn writing, “I have made no pretence to be a poet. But to the Lamb that was slain, and now lives, I have addressed many a song, to be sung by the penitent and believing heart.

Bob is okay

Well since you closed, the 30th. I guess I have to do it here. ;D  Even though it's only 11 PM here.

Welcome Dave to CP, hope you have fun here.

Nice devotional this morning Pat. ;D  Tom is off with his kids, and grandkids he should be back soon though. I think this is some of the best meds in the world for him. The best med, being a believer in Christ, our Lord.

Ephesians 5:2 And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour.

Trials and Pain: Prepared for Whatever

Lord, You have been our dwelling place in all generations. Before the
mountains were brought forth, or ever You had formed the earth and
the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, You are God.
--Psalm 90:1-2

Yet I do not advise that we end the year on a somber note. The march,
not the dirge, has ever been the music of Christianity. If we are
good students in the school of life, there is much that the years
have to teach us. But the Christian is more than a student, more than
a philosopher. He is a believer, and the object of his faith makes
the difference, the mighty difference.

Of all persons the Christian should be best prepared for whatever
the New Year brings. He has dealt with life at its source. In Christ
he has disposed of a thousand enemies that other men must face alone
and unprepared. He can face his tomorrow cheerful and unafraid
because yesterday he turned his feet into the ways of peace and
today he lives in God. The man who has made God his dwelling place
will always have a safe habitation.
The Warfare of the Spirit, p. 148

"Thank You, Father, for all You've taught me this past year. Thank
You for the stretching experiences. Thank You for Tozer's wise
counsel. Thank You for the privilege of serving You. Thank You for
Your love and grace. Amen."

Good Morning.

Suzanne  recognize that tut. I sure had a hard time finding California someone had to send me just California  ::)

I have nothing special planned for this holiday except to put away my little Christmas tree after I get the ornaments off and packed neatly. I am planning to get some of those plastic tubs to pack most of my stuff. That way I don't have to worry about boxes and stuff getting wet if I have to move inthe rain.

I am sitting here with my morning protein drink and news on the TV. Such sadness all over the world. The was a fisherman from McKinleyville (where I live) who was there on an adventure trip, now lost.

Have a great day.

Yep, it is the last day of 2004.  Where did the year go?  I am so thankful for a lot of things.  Just don't dwell on the things that are negative.  I am very thankful for my health and hope and pray that 2005 will be a healthier year for me.  I am very thankful for my friends that I encounter each day face to face and online.  I am very thankful for my home that is comfortable with warmth and cool air depending on the seasons.  I am very thankful that I have food to eat to nourish my body.  I am thankful for all the blessings that God gives to me each day and pray that God blesses those who are without them.

Happy New Year, Samantha!

The term "Hogmanay" comes from our Scottish friends.

It's what they call New Year's Eve in Scotland.  Here's a link for you to see from a friend of mine who owns this site called "Rampant Scotland":

Good morning from the soggy coast of Oregon!

Today closes out the year 2004 with all its experiences, joys, blessings, sorrows and memories.  Yes, it has been 5 years since "Y2K" ... for me this has even more significance since it is the day, 5 years ago, when my daughter Jean left this life and went to be forever with the Lord.  Yes, memories ....

I am looking forward to seeing what the Lord is going to do in and through us in this new year ahead.  I know it will be exciting, whatever it is.  I will leave you with this little note that I read this morning:

Surrender takes you low enough so the fiery darts miss you. Praise takes you high enough to be above them.

I'll be back ... HAPPY NEW YEAR
Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass .... it's about learning to dance in the rain!

HAPPY NEW YEAR FROM ENGLAND. :)

Janet

Happy last day of 2004 everyone!

After three calls to our ISP (Darrel called the last time and said our TV reception was poor) they sent out a repairman and he got the problem solved.  For that I am very thankful!

I was posting Thailand Photos last night when the connection failed and I lost the last ones, so I will go re-post those now.

Have a good evening, Pat!

Ruth Ann, thanks for your suggestion.  I did that, also a scan, and hope it helps.  It has been taking as many as 7 tries to get my computer to come on!  Very frustrating.

I took our tree down and moved some things.  I am hoping Darrel will get some things done he has been putting off for 7 years!  :-\  It would make life around here more pleasant.  (He says he will hook up our music system to the speakers he installed in the ceilings when we built this house!)

See you later, and please go look and comment on the Thailand photos.  Otherwise, it doesn't seem worth all the time it takes to post them.  Thanks.

Hello from Caledon, Ontario, Canada.

We'll be heading out shortly to have dinner with my parents, and then most likely and early and quiet evening at home.  Tomorrow will be a day spent with family.

Thanks for the HTML email Pat, I got it fine and the link worked great!

Janet, I hope you get your computer problems sorted out soon.  I may not post on each series of photos that you have done, but I have viewed them all and enjoyed them.  I have even gone back to a couple of them a second time.

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!

JUST A CLOSER WALK WITH THEE
(Click to hear music)

We also are weak in Him, yet by
God?s power we shall live with Him.
2 Corinthians 13:4

I am weak, but Thou art strong;
Jesus, keep me from all wrong;
I?ll be satisfied as long
As I walk, let me walk close to Thee.

Chorus:
Just a closer walk with Thee,
Grant it, Jesus, is my plea,
Daily walking close to Thee,
Let it be, dear Lord, let it be.

Through this world of toil and snares,
If I falter, Lord, who cares?
Who with me my burden shares?
None but Thee, dear Lord, none but Thee.

Chorus:
Just a closer walk with Thee,
Grant it, Jesus, is my plea,
Daily walking close to Thee,
Let it be, dear Lord, let it be.

When my feeble life is o?er,
Time for me will be no more;
Guide me gently, safely o?er
To Thy kingdom shore, to Thy shore.

Chorus:
Just a closer walk with Thee,
Grant it, Jesus, is my plea,
Daily walking close to Thee,
Let it be, dear Lord, let it be.

Hi Everyone:

That last chorus "Just a Closer Walk with Thee" is my wish for the New Year.   After seeing the devastation in Asia, I believe we are getting closer to the time when our Wonderful Lord Jesus is coming to sweep us, his children, away to be with Him forever.  My desire is to be ready and waiting for His return.

Tonight I'm going to a party and then the watchnight service at the church until 12:00 midnight.   Tomorrow I will get together with my big family.  Should be around 30 of us.  I'm looking forward to that.

Wishing everyone a safe and prosperous New Year.   God Bless

Love Ruthie

Hey, Babycakes...I see that you are on line as am I.

Happy New Year to you and Terry.

We're at home tonight.  We've got a couple of movies to watch.  One is the Billy Graham movie "A Vow To Cherish."  We got it today...just in time.

We have another one, "Radio"  The kids bought us...don't know much about it.

If we only had a fireplace to snuggle up to....we'll just have to turn up the furnace and crouch over the top of the register.

At least we have a way to keep warm (Thank you God for that blessing)
