Janet: Hello, Friends!  Let's get this going again!  I miss  hearing from all of you! 2025-01-23, 19:26:16

Don: Hey Judy, It's been a long time. Hope you are doing well. 2024-12-02, 22:41:41

JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Oldiesmann: So sorry for your loss Carol. Praying for you and your family :( 2022-05-01, 17:13:05

Carol: My husband Don is with the angels.....Our family was able to hold  ourselves together for the last moments.  Juar rhoufhr you might want to know. 2022-04-29, 23:35:15

Hi all!

A beeeeeee-uuuuuu-tiful day here in western north carolina.  mild, sunny, breezy.  no jacket for me.  no jacket for me.  no jacket for me.  ;D

Just thought I'd try to warm some of you northerners up a bit.   :P

I'm getting ready to go home from work now, and maybe I can get back in when I get there.  If not, I'll "see" you laters.

Welcome McClaren to the CP site.  I look forward to your postings.

Enjoyed reading all the postings since I was here this morning and posted.  A cousin's wife sent me a link to a very interesting site and I thought of the home schooler's as I looked at it.  It will probably take several minutes to load up the Java Applet but it is worth it (suggest starting it in a window and then opening another window to do something else and come back to it as I found it a bit slow even on the DSL connection.)

Here is the information about it and the link:

Florida State University in Tallahassee, Florida has put up a very
interesting page on their site. It begins as a view of the Milky Way
Galaxy viewed from a distance of 10 million light years and then zooms
in towards Earth in powers of ten. 10 million, to one million, to 100,000
light years and then it finally reaches a large Oak tree.

Once you click on the site, the software does all the work.

Now, here's the third thing, there must be the enslavement of the saint. Romans 6:18 describes Christians as "the servants of righteousness." To live the victorious life, you must become Jesus' slave. You may say, "Well, Pastor, I don't think I want to be a slave." Well, you're going to be a slave of Jesus or a slave of Satan (see Matthew 6:24).

Being a bondservant to the Lord Jesus Christ is a divine privilege that brings a new freedom (see Romans 6:18), a new faithfulness (see Romans 6:19) and a new fruitfulness (see Romans 6:21).

QuoteCrochet?  I wish I had a project going.  Two things...well, three things, are stopping me.  One, this pain.  Two, Ali.  Three, Inky!!!!  What do you like to crochet?  I know I have an afghan to make before October this year....a step-granddaughter is getting married.

Etta Sue, right now, I am working on a birthday gift for a co-worker.   I have the neck-warmer done, and tonight will be starting the headband.   I don't think I'll make a pair of gloves to go with it, but may instead opt for putting together a basket of teas for her.  I also do blankets and sweaters.  I can't seem to master fine crochet using cotton to make table cloths and doilies however.    :(  I must also get busy with my birthday gift from my mom.  A tablecloth to be cross-stitched.   ;D

Pat, I hope and pray the roads are good for you tomorrow.

Jenny, I'm so sorry to hear that you are shut-in.  It can't be pleasant to not be able to get out, although I must admit that there are days (today being one of them) that I wish I didn't have to go out.

CP...what a blessing to be able to come home after a day's work and relax with a cup of tea while 'chatting'!

Bye for now!

Ruthie

Thank you Pat for that devotional.   We need to get alone with Jesus and feel His love.     Do you have music for "Who can cheer the heart like Jesus"   ---
"All that thrills my soul is Jesus, He is more than life to me,   And the fairest of ten thousand,  Is my blessed Lord to me"    Would love to hear it.

Love Ruthie
The Lord is my light and my salvation Whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

All That Thrills My Soul Is Jesus
(Click to hear music)

Who can cheer the heart like Jesus,
By His presence all divine?
True and tender, pure and precious,
O how blest to call Him mine!

Chorus:
All that thrills my soul is Jesus;
He is more than life to me;
And the fairest of ten thousand,
In my blessed Lord I see.

Love of Christ so freely given.
Grace of God beyond degree,
Mercy higher than the heaven,
Deeper then the deepest sea.

Chorus

What a wonderful redemption!
Never can a mortal know
How my sin, tho' red like crimson,
Can be whiter than the snow.

Chorus

Every need His hand supplying,
Every good in Him I see;
On His strength divine relying,
He is all in all to me.

Chorus

By the crystal flowing river
With the ransomed I will sing,
And forever and forever
Praise and glorify the King.

Chorus:
All that thrills my soul is Jesus;
He is more than life to me;
And the fairest of ten thousand,
In my blessed Lord I see.

What a busy day here.

I played
again,  ::) well and I still am.  Chandraya had dance. Zachery and I had papers.  Troy has swimming right now.
I have dance in a couple of hours.

I went shopping today and got Troy a grey sweatshirt (hoodie).  We had them put Gillette Camels on the front and back.  Looks real nice.  I got myself a purple T-shirt that has the same thing except I had them put Troy in the front.  Looks great.  Now we are all ready for Cheyenne.
Wooohooo...
Gooo Camels!!!! Go Troy!!!! Yah Yah Yah!!!!

I am so jazzed.  I can't wait to go to Cheyenne.  I get to see my mom, brother and bestest friend ever, Scarlet.  Not sure about my dad.

I need to get going.

Thank you Larry for your comments about EE  -   we are excited about this semester.    One problem with me is the COLD weather and having to go out at night.

It is so COLD here in Canada that you can hear the crunch as you walk on the snow.    The storm door that usually shut slowly because it's on a hinge  just bangs shut   very quickly.    I walk to work so I bought a down-filled coat with a hood and fur around the hood.    Well today  around my ankles were cold and my hands were cold even with 2 pair of gloves on.  Of course I had a big long scarf wrapped around my mouth right up to my nose and when I breath my glasses all fog up.   haha.    I think tomorrow I will wear long johns under my slacks!

I have an old classic 1980 Chevy Monza.   Well it started, but just barely.   I have to let it run for 10 minutes before I can go anywhere.    Last year the battery froze!

My kittys run out one door, realize it is so cold, and run back in the other door.

So now you dear people who live in the South can have some idea about what cold is.    Today, with the wind factor it was about 30 below 0!!

Oh, I can't imagine all the cold weather I'm hearing about on the news.  Please stay warm, everyone.  I think it was 54 here today....rainy, but certainly not cold.

PAT.....ice on the inside of your windows?  I remember that happening once when I was a kid.  We had wood heat, and at night we piled on the covers.  In the morning, we bounded out of bed and headed for the living room where dad already had the stove stoked and the room felt soooo good.  I would imagine that happened more than once, but I can't remember.  We didn't live on the coast, but still in Oregon.

I'm glad Marilyn is doing well.

I have jonquils up. :)  They always come up in January, just a reminder of Spring..but it'll be awhile before they flower.

 I have been feeling somewhat down, and trying not to.  I pray and know that God knows all about it.  Depression seems to run in my family, and I've always felt that as a Christian, I would never take medication for it, but rather take the quiet, inward time, to be with the Lord and really listen.  I don't know if it's depression, but I feel sad a lot.  Watching the things I see on the news, the sad things, makes me tear up, and it seems so much sadness and loss lately.  I would just ask for prayer that whatever I need to learn or submit to or anything else our Father is doing, that I will be still and get through this.

   I know we are family.  That's the only reason I have said anything here.  I haven't even mentioned it to Jane.  I don't ask for prayer often, but I'm asking tonight.

    love, nita

Just heard my daughter in law Kim has been in a lot of pain with a kidney stone.   She was at the hospital yesterday and today she is very dizzy and has gone back to the hospital tonight.      Her and Shawn have twin girls just over a year old.   So they are having their troubles.    Prayers for her would be much appreciated.     Thank you,

Nita, I will pray for you tonight that God will fill you with "joy unspeakable and full of glory"      Nita the world is filled with awful things, but our Father knows all about it and WE ARE ON THE WINNING SIDE.   So just PRAISE HIM and HE WILL TURN YOUR SADNESS INTO JOY!!!
