Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Hi everyone...

We've been busy since we've been back in the states. Visiting family, doing a little travelling between Missouri and Tennessee. And going to the Doctor's office. Melanie (my wife) has been having some pretty bad back pain for a couple of months. The doctor originally gave her some steroids to try to bring down the swelling, but they didn't work. Yesterday went in for an MRI, and she has a 'small herniated disk.' We go to the neurosergeon tomorrow to see about surgery date. We were scheduled to fly back home (to Belarus) on the 8th, but it seems like that will not happen, so pray that we'll be able to talk with the airlines about changing our dates, and that they'll be lenient and not charge us an arm and a leg about it...

Blessings,
Mike

Mike, I'm so sorry about Melanie and I definitely will be praying that the airlines will be lenient with you.  Surely if you have a doctor's letter, that will help?

Hi, friends,

Well, today started out with lots of pain, but as the day went by, the pain receded somewhat. At any rate, I shut down and left work at 4:30 - almost unheard of for me, but was too exhausted from the pain to continue.

Hopefully the doctors can find relief for me before too long.

Y'all have a good  day.

Ruth Ann
...his compassions fail not.  They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.

Praying for you, Ruth Ann.  I'm so sorry.

Here are some good words...

Father, I Stretch My Hands to Thee
(Click to hear music)

I have stretched out my hands unto Thee.
Psalm 88:9

Words: Charles Wesley, Psalms and Hymns, 1741
Music: Naomi, Hans G. N䧥li; arranged by Lowell Mason, 1836

Father, I stretch my hands to Thee,
No other help I know;
If Thou withdraw Thyself from me,
Ah! whither shall I go?

What did Thine only Son endure,
Before I drew my breath!
What pain, what labor, to secure
My soul from endless death!

Surely Thou canst not let me die;
O speak, and I shall live;
And here I will unwearied lie,
Till Thou Thy Spirit give.

Author of faith! to Thee I lift
My weary, longing eyes:
O let me now receive that gift!
My soul without it dies.

Carrie

Hello Everyone
I have had a pretty busy day getting back into the normal routine with the kids returning and running back and forth to the school.  It was a nice break though and I do feel well rested.  Besides the bible I read a book called the Power of a Praying Woman and as a church we are beginning to read the Purpose Driven Life.  Like you Kathy I find it a little difficult to memorize verses for the bible but yet I can rember the words to songs very quickly.  So maybe we do need to start singing them.
Last night I was up quite late with a couple of friends who were asking a lot of questions about Christianity.  Which I love having the opportunity to witness to others but sometimes with these 2 girls in particular it seems that it is more about wanting to try and stump me or disproove or debate me rather than a geniune desire to know God.  They love to try and challenge issues with me from homosexuality to Christ's return and even to the foods I eat.  My one friend said to me last night how can I call myself a true Christian when I sometimes eat food that I know is bad for me even though the bible tells us that we should treat our bodies as a temple.  She feels that if I were a true Christian than I would not be comitting this same sin time and time again.  I told her that as Christian's we do still stumble sometimes and that none of us are ever perfect but she feels that is a "cop out"  and that did not satisfy her.  Of course with what has happened in Asia she questions why God would not intervene, why would he allow so many to die.   I have given her some material to read on God and suffering and so hopefully she can get some answers there. I was shocked to hear the other friend say that she believes this is God doing some population control and reducing the numbers.  These two girls names are Jennifer and Colleen.  Colleen is the one who asks me questions a lot more frequently.  She says she believes in God but does think that our free will is what is most important in life and we should have to be thinking and following God at all times.  She has been living with a man for three years and has a child by him.  She sees nothing wrong with the fact that are not married as far as she is concerned they are married.  As far as Jennifer goes she really does not have much of a faith at all.  I would really appreciate any feedback or help with this and certainly they do need our prayers.
Well that's all for now, I think this is the longest post I have ever done.
Also I meant to mention before because I don't think I ever said, I am from Brampton Ontario.
Blessings, Carrie

Carrie

I was just re-reading my post there and I need to correct myself.  My friend Colleen feels that are free will is what is most important in life and that we should NOT have to constantly feel like we need to be living for God.  (I had said should, insted of SHOULD NOT)

Well I'm exausted enough to try and get some sleep. You all have a nice one, I'll see y'all later on today.

Bob

Hi dear Bob...  I'm praying that you'll receive some much needed sleep and I'm looking forward to fellowship with you later on.

Thank you Pat, I managed to get about 2 hours of sleep.

I was just talking to my X BIL on IM and found out that an old friend of my younger years has suddenely passed away from a stroke. He had been feeling good yesterday. My BIL had just come from the hospital and IM'ed  me to tell me. We all grew up together The man's wife and I with backyards touching and playing together as children.
It sure is hard when old friends  go without salvation. I don't know if he was saved or not, he was catholic but I don't think he had been in church in 40 years except to funerals.

Hi all!  I started back to work today, begrudgingly.  I am thankful to have a job with supervisors who are basically letting me choose when to start my maternity leave (right now it is planned for 1/31, but I can stop work earlier if I want) and when to go back to work.

I feel really fat, tired, and pregnant <grin> so I think I will head to bed.

Take care ya'll,a nd maybe I'll be in tomorrow.

Great to see you posting, Carrie.

Glad you got some sleep, Bob!  But 2 hours is definitely not enough.
