Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

How To Handle Condemnation

    Luke 6:22-23 says...

Blessed are ye, when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you from their company, and shall reproach you, and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of man's sake.

Rejoice ye in that day, and leap for joy: for, behold, your reward is great in heaven: for in the like manner did their fathers unto the prophets.

    [/list]

      John 15:18-21 says...

If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you.

If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.

Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also.

But all these things will they do unto you for my name's sake, because they know not him that sent me.

      Morning Devotional...

      The Lamb of God

Spring is not far away in this part of the globe. In a few weeks, buds will be bursting into beautiful cascades of colour.  Brown fields will give way to tender, luscious shoots of green grass. The mornings will resound again with the melody of song birds, as they flit around in their new bright spring feathers, doing the things birds do while building their nests and raising their little ones. Soon, too, the little lambs will be seen sporting on the hills and in the valleys of Ontario, and Scotland and Ireland and many other places throughout the world.

Perhaps it was in spring that John the Baptist, on seeing Jesus coming to him said: "Behold the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world." John 1:29 (NKJV) What an unusual thing to call an adult male. What a peculiar statement to make. Think of it again.  "Behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world."

Lambs were familiar to the Jewish people of John's day. Lambs were a reminder to them of their history, when as slaves in Egypt, God had commanded them to kill a lamb, a spotless lamb, for each household and apply its blood to the lintel and door posts of their houses so that God's judgment would not fall on them. This exciting story can be read in detail in Exodus 12.

When I was a boy (many years ago), my father used to tell me stories to illustrate the Bible way of salvation. He seemed to have an endless store of them. Some of these stories I have remembered fondly over the years. One was about a man in Switzerland who was employed to repair the steeple on a local village church. So used, was he to working at heights that he did not bother to attach himself with a safety rope. He wanted freedom to move around, but alas his desire for freedom almost cost him his life. To their horror, some of the villagers saw him slip and grasp wildly to break his fall. To no avail, downward he hurtled. The villagers ran frantically to where the worker lay. He must be dead! But wonder of wonders he was alive. Instead, a lamb lay beneath him bearing his weight. The lamb was dead, crushed beneath the human load which had fallen on it.

When John the Baptist called the Lord Jesus Christ, "The lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world", he was telling his hearers that Jesus would die on the cross to take the weight of sin of the nations so that judgment need not fall on those who like the Israelites in Egypt were protected, by the blood of the lamb.

In the book of Revelation 7:9-10 (NKJV), we see, "a great multitude from all nations, tribes, peoples and tongues standing before the throne of the Lamb clothed in white robes with palm branches in their hands and crying with a loud voice saying, "Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne and to the Lamb".

There is a lovely hymn we sometimes sing in the church where we fellowship that speaks of Christ's sacrificial work as the Lamb of God and the blessings brought to all those who are His by personal faith in Him.

The Lamb of God to slaughter led,
      The King of glory see!
The crown of thorns upon His head,
They nail Him to the tree!

The Father gives His only Son,
      The Lord of Glory dies
For us, the guilty and undone,
      A spotless Sacrifice.

Enthroned with Thee now sits the Lord,
      And in Thy bosom dwells;
Justice, that smote Him with the sword,
      Our perfect pardon seals.

      Eternal death was once our doom;
      Now death has lost its sting;
We rose with Jesus from the tomb
      Jehovah's love to sing.

      ~Robert C. Chapman~

Let me lovingly ask you a very personal question, "What is your relationship to the Lamb of God? Have you put your faith in Him to deliver you from the judgment to come?" To do this you must first agree with God that you are a helpless sinner unable to meet the demands of His law, unable to pay the price of your own sin. Then you must agree that as the Lamb of God, He has taken away your sin.

If you have trusted Him you will one day sing the song of the redeemed in heaven

"Worthy is the Lamb who was slain
To receive power and riches and wisdom
And strength and honour and glory and blessing"

Blessing and honour and glory and power
Be to Him who sits on the throne,
And to the Lamb for ever and ever
      ."

      Revelation 5:11,12

The alternative is frightful. Those who do not seek the Lamb as Lord and Saviour will want to flee from Him as Judge, and will "call on the mountains and rocks to fall on them to hide them from the face of Him who sits on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb! For the great day of His wrath has come, and who is able to stand?" [/i] (Revelation 6:15-17).

It is my prayer that none who read this will miss the day of Salvation, and the mercy of the Lamb, for who will be able to stand in the coming day of the wrath of the Lamb.

      A Baker

I have just read today's devotional. What a wonderful theme to start a new day on. Pat, you have much to look forward to in Glory when your ministry on earth is completed. Thank you for holding on to the treasue that Jack left , and being so willing to share them with us.
          John (A Baker)

      Anthony

What a wonderful devotion to start the day.  It is such a blessing to read through Jack's sermons and thank you for sharing them with us all.

"What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?

He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?

Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifieth." (Romans 8: 31-33)

Every need that we have in respect of living a victorious life is met in Christ.  Praise God for sending His only Son to die and rise again for all those who will put their trust in Him.

Thank you Pat for such a nice start to the day.  God bless everyone and I trust that your day will be filled with the goodness of God.

Anthony (BTW Pat, thank you for asking about my mother.  She is pretty well confined to the  house.  We do go out a little and she is able to get to church on Sunday evenings if she uses a chair, but generally speaking she is much improved over the past few months)
"He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things."
      (Romans 8: 32)

      Maria

      MARK 10:14b-15  NLT
He said to them, "Let the children come to me.
      Don't stop them!
For the Kingdom of God belongs to such as these.
I assure you, anyone who doesn't have their kind
of faith will never get into the Kingdom of God.

We must have child-like faith to be a part of God's
      Kingdom.
So many things about the Kingdom require of us
a "dangerous innocence" and genuine humility.
Yet Jesus demonstrated these child-like qualities.
He wants us to travel along our religious journey as
trusting children of God, not as wordly wise
      theologically astute scholars.
      Now don't take me wrong on this;
we are not told to throw away our
      brains to become Christians.
However, we are taught to live in a way that is often upside down to the world and its conventional wisdom.
To do that, we need to go back and experience
the gift of salvation, the magnificence of God,
and the wonders of grace as wide-eyed,
excitable children who trust in God's ways,
      God's love, and God's care.

      PRAYER...
O God, make my heart child-like
and my faith fresh and new each day.
      In Jesus name.  AMEN.

Good Morning everyone. Anthony I have thought of you often and wondered how you and your mum are.  How nice it is to see you posting here on CP again, I pray you will come often.

Ria, I also received that link and it is wonderful. I think I posted it too. and then CP went down.

Pat thank you for the devotional from Jack.

Today I have a dr. appointment after work, nothing to be concerned about I have a very bad case of Athletes foot, it seems to flare up a couple of times a year for no reason and I also have a toenail fungus on a couple of toes. See not a big deal at all.

It is wet outside today and I can't tell if it is just wet fog or a few rain sprinkles. Yesterday the sun never did come out where I am. It came out at Gloria's in Arcata but she isn't as close to the ocean as I am.

Hello everyone!!  It is Tuesday, and according to Travis, that means that it is "yiberry" day.  So, we are getting ready to get ready (hahaha) to go get us some books and listen to storytime.

I hope everyone has a wonderful day.  Take care, and I'll try to be back in later this evening.

      Good Morning!
It's great to see everyone this morning.  Just a bit overcast here on the Oregon coast, but it will be sunny later in the day.  Yesterday seemed really HOT to me but I'm aclimatized to cooler weather so that comes as a "comparatively" type statement.   ::)

ANTHONY~I, too, have thought of you a lot over the past months.  It is good to see you posting.  And thank you for the information on your Mum.  "Much improved" is good news, right?

RIA~As usual you have brought good words to us this morning.  Thank you.

PAT~Jack's words are timeless and always encouraging.  Thank you for sharing them with us.

HAYLEY~Enjoy your day with the kids ... and I KNOW you all will be enjoying your vacation in Colorado!  I mentioned before (but I think my comment was lost) I really like your new photo!  :D

MARILYN~Dr. appointments are never what you'd deem "pleasant" but they are necessary at times.  Have a good day in spite of it, though, and I'm praying you will find a permanent solution to your problem so it will not continue to be a "couple times a year" nuisance.

KARMA and TRAV~ HAPPY YIBERRY DAY!!     ;D

Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass .... it's about learning to dance in the rain!

      Janet

      Hello, dear friends!

Darrel and I got up early and went out to work on those trees again.  We made good progress, burned another HUGE pile of limbs and debris.  If we keep plugging away on it, we might get it all done some day.  :-\

Ria, I know you are happy to see the progress you are making on the house.  I wish for you brihgt blue skies and warmer weather. 8)

Abby is home!!  So the phone calls have resumed.  Her birthday is tomorrow, and she is taking NO chances of Grandma forgetting it! ;D  Her Mom says the party is at 6:00 tomorrow evening, but she wants me to come down early so I can help her.  So of course, I will do that.

Hi, Anthony!  Good to see you again!  Tell your Mom hello for us, will you?

Karma, I think I will go to the "yiberry" today, too.  I seem to have read all the books I had on hand.  Well, the ones I wanted to read, anyway.

Marilyn. let me know what your doctor recommends.  I have that problem, too.  I think I picked it up at the swimming pool. :(

Hey, Pat!  How are you today?  I hope you are having a lovely day.

I need to go get my shower, so we can go eat lunch at the senior center.  We haven't been there in a long time!

Ria ~ Ali and Inky are so entertaining.  Just a few minutes ago, Ali was in the sink and wanted a drink.  I was ignoring her.  She jumped down and pulled my arm from the keyboard!!!!!!  That got my attention.  Inky jumped in the sink with her and both was drinking from the little stream of water.  So cute!!

It is cloudy.  It is sunny.  Then cloudy again.  Looks like rain right now.  Would be a great day to go to the yiberry!

Tonight is our small groups.  I think it is a swimming party first but not me.  Small groups isn't ready for me in a swim suit.   ??? ::) ::)  Jerry and I will probably eat out somewhere and then go to the meeting.  We are starting a new lesson....titled 'Get a Grip'!  Looks interesting so far.[/b]

Thank you for the birthday greetings yesterday. Your thoughtfulness is very much appreciated. I haven't been on much lately but I do read the postings from time to time as I get some time. We have been extremely busy lately with trucking and other areas of life. The Company we haul for has greatly increased in shipments by getting some new contracts which in turn is keeping the Company I drive for on the move.

It has been a warm day.

I have been thinking about Jesus and his rendidion of the 10 Commandments.  Thou shall love the Lord your God With all your heart soul and mind.

      What does this mean.

What comes first in our lives.

If it is not our Lord and Savour then is it an idol?

Is anything more important than Him?

      What do you think?

      Blessings all

You know what would be neat?  A virtual wedding shower.  Maybe tomorrow, we could have a special thread where we all give our well wishes, prayers, and bits of advice to Jacob and Trish.  Then, when they get a chance, they could read it and print it out or something.

      Larry Hanna

Just a quick hi tonight as it will soon be 9 pm and I am really tired.  I worked for 8 hours today stuffing the envelopes and have one more day of work tomorrow.  This is the first paid work I have had for several years and it really lifts my spirits to be able to earn a few dollars.  I am hopeful that in the future the man who runs this distribution company will give me a call when he has a job of this type.  I can do it sitting down and while it is rather boring I have really enjoyed it.

Hope everyone has had a good day.  Bye for tonight.

Janet and anyone else who is plagued with toenail fungus and /or athletes foot.

I have been using a combination of cleansing the athlets foot with Tea tree oil then applying athletes foot meds for the past few days. The only thing my doctor changed was to add the Lamisil cream which is the best and the quickest way to healing. For the Tonail fungus I started using the Tea Tree Oil after looking it up on the internet for tonail fungus, however it was also recommended to used some kind of cream. My doctor tells me that Vicks Vaporub is an excellant remedy that takes about 6 - 12 weeks to clear it up. so she suggested the Tea tree Oil in combination with the Vicks.

Those Lamisil pills that you see in those TV ads for Fungus is highly toxic to the liver. As for myself I prefer not to take ANYTHING  that causes damage to the liver. That is why I got off Lipitor ASAP and now take Flushless Niacin 3 times a day.

Who woulda thunk it about Vicks???

Trisha!!  Good to see you today!  I am thinking about you and Jacob, today and tomorrow especially.

Karma, I think a virtual shower is a great idea!  Let's do it!

Larry, as I said earlier, I would certainly do that kind of work, too, if I had a chance.

I am exhausted!  We worked again this afternoon on those trees until we were both so tired and dizzy we had to stop.  I was concerned we might get heat stroke, because it was near a hundred degrees here today.  My shoulders and neck are really aching. :-\

I am just checking in to see what happened today while I was out working!  Stuffing envelopes sounds like a vacation after what we were doing!  ;)

      See you all tomorrow!

      Papa John

Well, here we are at the end of the day.  I have dropped in and read the posts.  Some days I just don't seem to have much to say.

Looking again at some thought from James read this.

James 1:18-21  He chose to give us birth through the word of truth, that we might be a kind of firstfruits of all he created.  My dear brothers, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry,  for man's anger does not bring about the righteous life that God desires.  Therefore, get rid of all moral filth and the evil that is so prevalent and humbly accept the word planted in you, which can save you. (NIV)

Anthony, it is good to see you here.  Hope you are doing well.

And John (A. Baker), I'm so happy to see your post as well.
