Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Morning Devotional...

He took a child, and set him in the midst of them. He...took a towel, and girded Himself. He took bread, and gave thanks, and brake it, and gave unto them, saying, This is My body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of Me.
Mark 9:36; John 13:4; Luke 22:19

Humility is a necessity for any follower of Christ.

He set a child in the midst of His disciples to illustrate the humble attitude necessary for His followers.

He took a towel, girded Himself and washed His disciples' feet to illustrate the humble activity necessary for His followers.

He took bread and broke it to symbolize His own humility in giving His life to bring salvation to the world.
—Milton Haack

He left His Father's throne above,
so free so infinite His grace;
Emptied Himself in matchless love,
and bled for Adam's helpless race.
Wesley

Just noticed this part of the site.  Pretty neat..I think I will come back often when I am feeling a certain way and need help figuring out how to get through it. ;D 8)

Morning everyone!

That is so cute, Karma!  I think I would have cried or almost.  That is neat he is preaching.  Troy used to try to write sermons when he was about 5.  I saved one of them.  :D

This week Troy spent his time with the youth group ministering to a few neighberhoods.  Next week they are going to another part of town.  Cant wait for them to come to this area.  The teens help them with crafts and teach them a verse.  Something fun for the whole neighbor and let the kids hear about God that would othewise not even hear His name I am sure.

ok ..off to bed.

Well in for a BIG hot day today.  Aparently the humidity is to rise again today, not nice for being outside in it all day.

Got to run and get ready.  I need to pick up 4 cases of water from Wal Mart today, people seem to forget the need to keep hydrated in the heat.  The director of Open Road makes sure he has lots to share.

THE NOTION OF DIVINE CONTROL

How much more shall your Father which is in heaven give
good things to them that ask Him?

     Matthew 7:11

Jesus is laying down rules of conduct for those who have His Spirit.
By the simple argument of these verses He urges us to keep our minds
filled with the notion of God's control behind every thing, which
means that the disciple must maintain an attitude of perfect trust
and an eagerness to ask and to seek.

Notion your mind with the idea that God is there. If once the mind is
notioned along that line, then when you are in difficulties it is as
easy as breathing to remember - Why, my Father knows all about it! It
is not an effort, it comes naturally when perplexities press. Before,
you used to go to this person and that, but now the notion of the
Divine control is forming so powerfully in you that you go to God
about it. Jesus is laying down the rules of conduct for those who
have His Spirit, and it works on this principle - God is my Father,
He loves me, I shall never think of anything He will forget, why
should I worry?

There are times, says Jesus, when God cannot lift the darkness from
you, but trust Him. God will appear like an unkind friend, but He is
not; He will appear like an unnatural Father, but He is not; He will
appear like an unjust judge, but He is not. Keep the notion of the
mind of God behind all things strong and growing. Nothing happens in
any particular unless God's will is behind it, therefore you can rest
in perfect confidence in Him. Prayer is not only asking, but an
attitude of mind which produces the atmosphere in which asking is
perfectly natural. "Ask, and it shall be given you."

Good morning, friends,

I rested quite a while later this morning, then got up to eat my usual breakfast and there were no more cereal bars! Guess it's time to go to the grocery.

I mistakenly went to the 14th discussion to read, thinking it ws yesterdays', but my attention was captured by the Soul Survivor ad. I think I'll investigate that further - looks promising for my younger friends.

Must go - love to all.

Hi everyone.  It is a cloudy day here in Georgia and they are predicting rain later in the day.  I don't really have anything planned for today so think I will reduce my computer time and do some reading.  I requested several books from the library and they all became available at the same time.  I finished one of them last evening and have another about half finished.  I just got the new David McCullough book called "1776" yesterday and look forward to reading it as he is a wonder writer of history.

Glad to read that Jane has safely made it up north and had contacted you Liz.

Ruth Ann, anytime we are not feeling well is serious to us so you certainly should share with us your thoughts and concerns.

Karmat, that was quite a trip that Nards took yesterday.  A probably very long trip for some short period of working.  Your comments regarding Travis are so touching.  He sounds like a delightful little fellow.

JudyB, hope you don't get too hot at the truck rodeo.  Is this a competation between drivers or just a trade show.

Soni, it is nice that Troy is able to spend some of his time this summer working in various neighborhoods.  I am sure it will be an interesting and growing experience for him.  How is Zachery doing?  Did you get the dance floor finished.

Etta Sue, sorry I don't comment very often on your graphics as I do enjoy seeing them.

I know I haven't commented to everyone individually today but have read all of the postings.  Hope everyone will have a nice weekend.

Marilyn

Good Morning Just finished my second cup of coffee. Already took a shower and shampooed my hair so I don't have to do theat tonight. Got a load of laundry going and weill be going to work in a couple of hours, 1/2 day today, maybe I can get out to Blue Lake to see the grandkids if they are at home.

That's all for now.

Here is my favorite graphic.  For you new ones, stare at it and you will see a great surprise!!

Karma ~ My brother picked on me big time until the day he got married.  His wife told him 'No more'.  And he hasn't.  I don't remember of ever having fights and such with Ivalou...just Kaye Don.  I can see Travis running outside to check on Daddy in the airplanes!  So cute but frustrating for little kids.

Nita ~ If I sleep on my right side I wake up with a backache. But if I sleep on my left side, I am fine.  So I try to at least the last few hours to be on my left side.  I sleep soundest on my back.  Glad no one is here but the girls to hear me snore!  And yes, I sleep great in my recliner, too!

Marilyn ~ Oh, with all that newly overturned dirt, when the rains come, will it all wash under your mobile home?  I still believe you will find just the right home.

JudyB ~ I have to think of Jerry when you talk about the roadeo.  He would have loved attending something like that.  I will keep little Marie in my prayers....so young to go through so much.

Al ~ Thank you, Al.  I will remember that each day when I select my graphic for the day.

Pat ~ I don't know if you read or not but I didn't get a clickable for the NEM on Thursdays NEM for Friday.  Not email notification...a clickable on the last post.  Is that me or did someone forget to put a clickable there?  Thanks for all you and Karma are doing in the basement.

Ruth Ann ~ My husband cracked one of his leg bones due to a fall off of a bicycle at age 44.  He was in a cast for 9 weeks. He could always tell when it was going to rain or when bad weather was coming.  He had pain in that leg quite often ever since falling.  And if he was on his feet very long, that was the leg that was swollen.  And he didn't break it...just a crack!  I am praying you get out of that cast off soon and are better than ever!

Kathy ~ Thank you, Kathy, on commenting on my graphics.  I love to share them even though most I did not create.

Liz ~ I have found more than once that going through a gardens it has been raining.  But the rain only enhanced the beauty of the gardens.  I am sure Jane will find this so.  I am so happy you got to talk to Jane.  She is a darling.  Perhaps you will meet someday.  Well, in heaven but before then.

Soni ~ That is great that Troy and his friends are going to neighborhoods to spread the word through crafts and memorizing verses.  I can only imagine how much joy he is getting from doing this.

Larry ~ Thank you for commenting on my graphics.  I wasn't fishing forcomments really but it does make one know that they are appreciated.  Sounds like you had a day like I want today.  I look forward in getting offline today and reading.

I woke early today to the sound of thunder.  It is very dark...the dusk to dawn lights are on.  When I did get up all the windows to the south are steamed up on the outside.  That means it is really humid outside.  I have never seen that happen before.  In just a couple of hours, it has rained big time 2-3 times.  Right now it is quiet out there...not a leaf moving but very dark.  Looks like 8 p.m. out there.  Short day, hunh?

Howdy, friends!  I am feeling a lot more like ME again today, and am so thankful.  I went to bed last night about 7:30 and got up and 7:30 this morning!  And slept most of it, too!  I think my body was really needing the rest; I slept only a little bit the night before.

Anyway........glad to see you all posting today!

Karma, I would LOVE to hear Travis preach--how cute.  And so cute, too about him talking to his Daddy up  in the airplane.  Is Nards worn out today?

Etta Sue, that's so nice when you talk to each  person like that!

I went to the care home to visit my Mom; she was feeling neglected, I think.  She continues to do well, no aches or pains; just can barely see or hear.

Kathy and Ruth Ann, it's always good to read your posts!  Ruth Ann, do take care of yourself.

Larry, I have a list of books written down that I want to look for at the library.  I am trying to finish reading some I have before I go get them, though.  I love to read, but this computer takes way too much of my time.  I guess the only remedy for that is just to stay off it more.  :-\

I think I will go cut some mats while I am feeling better.  Thanks again for all the prayers, they mean so much!

I hear thunder and we are going to pick up my prescription called-in and then on to the 5:30 Saturday service.  This is nice for us as we are driving to see children tomorrow and a double birthday celebration in early afternoon with all.

Larry:  You wrote my thoughts on how nice it would be to help out Janet & Beth in some small ways.  Good to see that Pat got out of the house & I see you are a history buff.  Me too.  There is one show called History Detective & I watched it once, very interesting.  Yes, divine guidance - we need it all the time now.

Janet:  Tendonitis - that sounds painful.  I am praying for you and Beth.  We all need as many angels to help us each and every minute - they must get the giggles at our ineptness (I am speaking of mine, of course).

Etta Sue:  I know the road from Ouray to Durango.  Yes, many roads around here are AWEsome.  Still saying that it wasn't a vapor lock at this place today - I wish Jerry was here as he could answer the problem.  Anyway, we are having everything checked-out next week before we go on another camping trip.

Nita:  It was a very long day & even a nightmare later that night.  Each time we take a trip, we seem to do more and more to leave paperwork and such for our children at the house in case of something happening to both of us - such as passwords and so forth - well, we have sent a lot of little information on to the kids so they won't be totally stymied if an event occurred.

Marilyn:  Since everything is planned for us, I have been wondering about the message - and praying that I do understand the message.  Cool and foggy for you and here it is hot this week.  Mornings are glorious though - the best anywhere we have ever lived.

Pat:  How is your shoulder?  Is this episode of pain finally over?

Our pastor is leaving at the end of this month and then we will have visiting pastors - it always takes much too long.  We do have a youth pastor & what a dear person but he can't carry the entire load for this size church.

Marilyn , what an awesome sight this must be to see.  I saw your picture yesterday and tried to go to the site "potrait of hope" but my  computer locked up.   I can just imagine how big and colorful this was to see.

Etta Sue.what a laugh I got.  ;D   and I've seen it before, but I bit again.  I was trying to see something in the green picture.

It has been HOT and MUGGY here today.  Grandson Doug washed the front porch and I mopped the back porch, kitchen and bathroom..2 times even because it was soooooo dirty.  Ugh!! It didn't get its good spring cleaning because I was laid up in the chair. Then put on 2 coats of wax.   Anyway the floors are pretty and shiney...just like I like them to be.
I guess I washed and put up about 5 loads of clothes, went to WalMart for groceries and to get another DVD player to replace the one that broke this week.  I found one that plays DVDs and VCR tapes.  I tried to hook it up...but guess I better give that job to one of the sons who knows what to do. I've got wires everywhere.  I hope they can figure it out.

Fixed up my share of tomorrows dinner...potato salad, green bean salad.  Will make the banana pudding in the AM along with the sweet tea.  We having a few friends over after church.

Time to go....good night to all.

Etta Sue, I've said it before and will say it again.....I LOVE YOUR GRAPHICS.

Guess what, we have a nice, dry, sunny day on the island.  Jane phoned and said I must have connected with the right angel.  Think it might be because her line is more direct to God.  At any rate, they are having a nice time, going to Butchart Gardens tonight and leaving tomorrow.  You are right Etta Sue.  She sounds real nice and down to earth....my kind of person!

This has been a busy day.  Did household chores in the morning, went for a walk, then helped Wendy get a large load of things ready for the Salvation Army.  'Twas time to clean out the cupboards and recycle.  Then prepared dinner for them as she was exhausted.  Baked chicken breasts, rice, salad and fresh Blueberry Cobbler.  Now I am exhausted :-\

Read something that has me puzzled.  An author named J. Granger has written a book about 'God In Harry Potter.'
He claims the animal symboles in Potterdom are powerful pointers to God.  I have not read any of the books. Understand that there is much dispute about the matter in religious circles.   ??????

This was a competition of the best of the vest truck drivers.  The grand champion was a Reimer driver.  He will go on to compete in Florida in August.  I hope that there are no hurricanes during that time!

It was a difficult day. The heat was bad, a lot of people were sun burned.

It is late and morning comes early.

Night all
