Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Carol: Thankful:  Don is home from hospital.  I found him unconscious with head outside on the floor and the rest was in the shower.  At the same moment, one son was walking through the front door to visit.  Two fire trucks came racing in and they took over After 2021-12-29, 22:01:26

When I was on my trip, I went to see many many places of worship. I went to a island of the Mayan. I saw many temples of worship. It is not certain to me if they worship to the God I AM, I think no?  ???

They take away the life from the children and they give them back to GOD to honor him.  :-\ I am certain this offering of the life of the children, is to them the greatest treasure they can offer to God.  :'(
I know in my heart it is wrong they do this.  :-[
I know I am not to judge them.  :-[

Does God see this as a great offering that they will give back to Him the treasure of their life?  :-\
If in the heart they see this to be a great offering of worship, is it still a sin?

I would give my life to God, if it is his wish. In my heart I know I am to stay here to help others.  ::) I know if it is His wish to take me away, he will do it. So it is still his wish that I am here.  :-\

Mieka,

One of the Pagan God's of the Canaanites was named Molech and they sometimes offered their children in the fire as sacrifices.  This was an abomination to God and the Jews were forbidden to do this.  It was and is a sin, a terrible sin.

Jer 32:35  They built high places for Baal in the Valley of Ben Hinnom to sacrifice their sons and daughters to Molech, though I never commanded, nor did it enter my mind, that they should do such a detestable thing and so make Judah sin.  (NIV)

Eph 2:8-9  For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-- and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God-- not by works, so that no one can boast.(NIV)

;D To take away life is to take away Gods treasure.
It is truth, yes Papa John?

I wish I can know these words so good that I can find them so fast.  :-\ I hope one day.

Meiks You ask some very good questions.

Iain Papa John Jeanne Lee and the rest of those who have replied to Meiks, Your answers have given a lot of food for thought.

Thankyou.

So how does tithing work for unemployed people?  Just curious.

Jeanne Lee

I don't know how it works in Canada, but here the unemployed collect unemployment insurance from the state.  That, of course, would be gross income and would be subject to tithe.   :o

Al Moak

The tithe was never meant to be a heavy burden.  It was to be the joy of God's people to give in order to support those who ministered spiritual things to them.  It was an orderly, reasonable system, and it should have taught God's people orderly, reasonable stewardship - the care of God's money by God's people.  In our time it is the same, and if God supplies an unemployment check that at least covers ordinary expenses, then it would be a joy to bring a thithe into the "storehouse."  I think it is worth remembering, however, that it was never intended to be a burden, and if, in our day, someone has a debt that must be paid, and it cannot be paid if a tithe is paid, then that debt must be seen as God's providence also, and the debt may be paid, the tithe neglected - without undue guilt.

Al Moak

Mieka - Papa John has answered so well that I have nothing more to say, except that we cannot honor God by doing what He has commanded us not to do.  You are right - the lives of our children are treasures in God's sight, and He does not want them given away.

Pat

I certainly agree with that, Al.  Good explanation for Jen.  Thanks so much!

I'm so tired tonight that I must get to bed as I'll be driving many miles tomorrow both to Hamilton and back and then to London where I will have a tooth extracted!  OUCH!

Please continue your wonderful discussion in tomorrow's thread.  I've thoroughly enjoyed reading your messages today.

I'll try to be able to post a message between Hamilton and London tomorrow but I'm not sure if it will be possible.

I'm sitting here singing Psalm 2 in the metric version.  What wonderful feasts we have in the Psalms!  How wonderful to be able to sing them as well as read them.  I do hope that you enjoy hearing the music.  It might not be the tune you're used to but just sing along anyway!  LOL

Now, I'm off to bed as I'm very sleepy and when that phone rings at 4 am, I'm really not willing to get up!

Click here to get to the next thread[/b].
