JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Oldiesmann: So sorry for your loss Carol. Praying for you and your family :( 2022-05-01, 17:13:05

I see new photos and new faces.  I feel like a fish out of water coming back to this site as it's been so very long---over a month.  My computer was in the hospital and I still haven't made th time to come by every day.  Guess that I got out of the computer habit.  I've been taking my devotionals outside on the deck in the early AM instead of coming to computer.

  God is so very good and all my friends are still here at CP.   :)

Janet & Etta Sue....How about send some of the chilly weather here as it is like in the 90's and verrrrry humid! It makes breathing hard. No outside work for me today.  Then again I don't do much of that in the summer anyway.  I did vacuum the house, sweep the porches, and do some general Sat cleaning inside where I have the AC on.

It was good to see Meika posting.

Have a blessed day!  k

It's SO-o-o-o-o good to see you posting, Kathy.  You've been missed and I sure hope that you get back in here more often.

Yes,  that's an oldie, Ladybug,   for sure!  Giggle, giggle!    I used to use that in my Defensive Driving Courses I taught.  It brought a giggle to a sort of boring lesson back then too.

I'm home again, and have just prepared some photos for posting.  I will do that after I go over to Beth's to bring her bird, Ruffles, back home.  I took her over there earlier, as Ruffles was needing some attention.  She gets very lonely.  We haven't moved her back to Beth's since she got home, she usually lives in our garage during the summer, as we can open the door and let her have fresh air and sunshine.  But no sunshine today!  It is sprinkling again! :D

Anthony, good to see you here again today!  Yes, God is good-----all the time!

I will come back and post photos shortly.

Pat, I like the photo of you and Geordie, too.  It's time for a new one of me, I look too hot in that turtleneck and sweater! ;)

Your afternoon smile:

AS an attorney in a major New Mexico law firm, I have many colleagues who work long hours. However, the reputation of one of my partners' workaholic ways even extended beyond the office. He not only had to leave work early one day because of a medical problem, but was also told by his doctor to stay home until the end of the week. My colleague grudgingly agreed to comply. In the middle of the week, our receptionist received a call for him. She announced that the partner was out of the office until Friday. "Good," the caller said. "That's all I wanted to know." It was my partner's doctor.

Ruth Ann Bice

Hi, friends,

Well, the house sitting is now officially over. So, I'm home and about to climb into my own bed for the first time in 3 weeks.

Thank you all for your birthday greetings. It was a nice day. I left work at 11:00 to go to Atlanta, and at one point in my work morning, I was on a phone call with London, England (a business call - not from my son), my other phone was ringing, someone was standing at my desk waiting for an opportunity to ask something, and two more people were pacing up and down the hallway waiting for their turn. So, I laughed and told my boss that I had "worked a full 8 hour day" in the 4 hours I was there.  ;)

In Atlanta, the kids took me out to dinner for my birthday and then Pam baked a delicious blueberry cobbler (sugar free and okay for this diabetic to enjoy). What a nice "birthday cake!"

I'll be more regular here at CP, now that I'm home. I just wanted to peek in the door to say "hi."

More later.

Finally found time to spend on the computer reading the posts.  Nice devotional, Pat. Also, nice photo.  Must do something about posting one .... not fond of having my picture taken.

We are having a terrible heat wave here on the island.  The hottest weather in over 100 yrs. and no end in sight.  I'm afraid watering the garden has become my life's work until the kids get back.  It was 90F at dark last night and as hot again today.  We don't have air conditioning, so poor Squeek is at a loss to stay cool.  It isn't too bad downstairs and I have her sleeping in MY chair at the moment.

My daughter phoned from Alberta last night, crying and desperately unhappy.  I can't discuss the details, but it is about her dying Grandmother and my ex-husband.  My heart hurts and I feel powerless to do anything....so if anyone feels like praying for Wendy, please do.  This is making her physical pain even worse and totally ruining the short vacation for Ralph and Amanda.  I told her to leave it all in God's hands and back away from the horror....guess that is sometimes easier said than done.

I think the temp is again around 100F and feel a little drained.  Couldn't sleep last night, so loaded my new Norton's 2004 Security and it had to be done three times....never had that problem before.  The only way I could get my internet back was to disconnect Norton's Firewall, run the live update, which then set the Firewall settings, and thus regained my Internet Connection.  Worked all night and finally finished at 4A.M.  Too hot to sleep anyway :(

So, this is not one of my better postings.  Will do some pictures of Squeek later and spend a little time with God's Word.  Now, must go and check on the Rabbits and hope the Pregnant one holds off until Amanda gets back.  Not into delivering baby bunnies :(

Pleasant evening and God Bless,

Liz

Ohhh, Liz...   I'm truly so sorry that Wendy is having a difficult time.

Let's sing together...

There's Just Something About That Name
(Click to here music)

Jesus, Jesus, Jesus
There's just something about that name
Master, Saviour, Jesus
Like the fragrance after the rain
Jesus, Jesus, Jesus
Let all Heaven and Earth proclaim
Kings and kingdoms
Will all pass away
But there's something about that Name.

Rose of Sharon
(Click to hear music)

Words and music by Alfred B. Smith and John Peterson

"I am the rose of Sharon, and the lily of the valleys."
Solomon 2:1

There's a Beautiful Rose ever blooming,
In the Garden of God's Love for me;
It has filled all the world with it's fragrance,
It will last for eternity.

Chorus
Rose of Sharon now blooming I see,
Blessed Jesus, who died on the tree;
With my whole heart I sing "Hallelujah!"
Rose of Sharon, so precious to me.

Precious Savior, I'll always adore Thee,
For with Thee no one else can compare;
By Thy Love so divine, I'm enraptured,
Thou are fairer than all of the fair.

Chorus
Rose of Sharon now blooming I see,
Blessed Jesus, who died on the tree;
With my whole heart I sing "Hallelujah!"
Rose of Sharon, so precious to me.

Are you lost in your sins ~ tired of living?
Is your heart filled with bitterness, too?
Come to Jesus, the sweet Rose of Sharon,
He has the power to make you anew.

Chorus
Rose of Sharon now blooming I see,
Blessed Jesus, who died on the tree;
With my whole heart I sing "Hallelujah!"
Rose of Sharon, so precious to me
.

It's just me!

QuoteFor who is God save the LORD? or who is a rock save our God?
What does this mean???

Soni - as has already been pointed out, the word "save" is just the older English for "except."  In fact, in the New King James Version, Ps. 18:31 reads, "For who is God, except the LORD? And who is a rock, except our God?"

The meaning, supported by the context of the rest of the psalm, is that our God is able to defend us, and no one can do it like He does.  He's a "Rock," meaning very strong, very stable - a great fortress against trouble, against Satan, and against sin.

Hope that helps a little bit at least.

Papa John - I hope you will read this at least when you get back on tomorrow.  I had a bulging disk about 4 years ago.  I went to a very, very good chiropractor locally, a Dr. Luoma.  When I went in I couldn't even straighten up at all - I was doubled over and experiencing excruciating pain.  He had me sit on a table.  An assistant held my knees, and he himself went around to my backside.  With his index and third fingers he found the bulge.  He placed his fingers ever so carefully over it and had me rock back and forth slowly.  By this means he actually pushed the disk back between vertebrae!  It all took less than five minutes, and when he was done I felt completely normal!  I've been back for it a few times, but it never needed much more attention.  He told me that as we age, once you put it back in, it stays in.

Pat - what has happened with the car?

Sonifo

Thanks Larry, Janet and Anthony.  I understand it now.  :D

We just got back from playing at the park with the kids.  They sure love the evening walks.

Check you all later!

I've enjoyed the day here in New Every Morning!  Did you all enjoy it as much as I did?  I love the questions that you folk ask.  I learn things too.

Now, it's time for the Lord's Day.

We're continuing the studies of Jack's in Psalm 23.  I do hope that you're enjoying it as well.
