Morning Devotional...

And they sing the song of Moses...and the song of the Lamb.
Revelation 15:3

The first recorded song in Scripture is that of Moses. It concerned redemption by the blood of the Lamb.  God had delivered the Israelites out of their bondage in Egypt.

We too, who are believers, have been delivered through the precious blood of the Lamb of God.

In a coming day we will join in the chorus and keep on singing forever, "worthy is the Lamb that was slain!"

While on our journey Home, let us raise our voices in praise to Him now!
                                                                 --E. MacLelland

REDEEMED
(Click to hear music)

Redeemed, how I love to proclaim it!
Redeemed by the blood of the Lamb;
Redeemed through His infinite mercy,
His child and forever I am.

Refrain

Redeemed, redeemed,
Redeemed by the blood of the Lamb;
Redeemed, redeemed,
His child and forever I am.

Redeemed, and so happy in Jesus,
No language my rapture can tell;
I know that the light of His presence
With me doth continually dwell.

Refrain

I think of my blessèd Redeemer,
I think of Him all the day long:
I sing, for I cannot be silent;
His love is the theme of my song.

Refrain

I know there is a crown that is waiting,
In yonder bright mansion for me,
And soon, with the spirits made perfect,
At home with the Lord I shall be.

Refrain

Heather Brunet

Thank you for this devotional this morning.  I don't always post every day, but I do read the morning devotions daily.  Today is a big deal to us, and we are getting ready to leave for a 4 1/2 hour trip north to Sundridge, for court.  We will be staying in Gravenhurst until Wednesday afternoon, when we will go and visit with the children, and then come home.

My spirit is telling me that I have nothing to worry about.  My head is telling me that I will be uplifted in prayer.  My heart is telling me that all will be just fine, and that the children will be coming home soon.

Thank you to everyone who has promised to pray today.  Court starts at 9:30am EST.  We hope to be finished by 10, and on our way back to Gravenhurst for a of relaxation.  I think we may even work on finding a beach to sit on, if it is warm enough, to be able to just spend some quiet time together and with the Lord.  That is something that doesn't happen to often because of Jon's sporatic work schedule.

Anyway, love ya'll and I will post again when I get home.  I will be checking in over the next couple of days, and will read the morning devotional tomrrow, but I won't be posting anything.

God bless ya'll, and talk soon,
Heather

Iain

Thanks Pat, 'Redeemed' - could not be clearer, but O! at what a price!

I want to tell you about some of the language problems I had on my trips to Romania. The interpreters I used were superb and among the finest Christians that I have ever met.

One had a real difficulty when using the words 'kitchen' and 'chicken'. Here are a couple of examples:-

'Iain, can you tell my mother to take in a bottle of water. She is busy in the chicken!'

'It's kitchen soup for lunch today, I hope you like it!'

Another lovely Romanian Christian said to me one day. 'Iain, I want to be a donkey!'
'A donkey, I said astonished.' ( I thought that she had gone wrong with her interpretation so I asked.)
'Why do you want to be a donkey?'

'Well,' she said, 'do you remember when Christ came riding into Jerusalem. People through down palm leaves and shouted Hosanna!'

'Yes I know the story.'

'Well, Christ was uplifted, and nobody looked at the donkey!'

'I want to be a donkey!'

Good morning everyone!  Heather, please know that you and your family will be in my prayers today.  I hope everything goes well for you.  Just keep that attitude and keep trusting the Lord.

Iaian, what a lovely story! I think that is the perfect humble attitude with which to approach life following Christ.  Something that has definitely been lacking in my own life.  Thank you so much for the reminder.

Pat-another busy day for you?  Haven't seen you as much as we used to.  But still, I can't thank you enough for the time and energy you have put into the committment you have here.  Wonderful woman!

Sonja-I wanted to ask how Zachary was doing.  I am hoping things are going well with him, is he getting used to changes and so on?

Anthony-where have you been?  Haven't seen you around much lately, hope things are alright.

Well, I have to be going, but Pat, I'm going to post another poem tonight if I get the opportunity.  Another lesson I've been trying to absorb.

God be with you all and I pray you will all have a fulfilling day as you seek to keep your focus on Him.  Jen.

Good Morning Pat!  Thank you for the devotional.  I made a boo-boo yesterday by posting a regular post in the sunrise picture area.  I was so tired that I'm surprised I even posted.  Work was hard yesterday, so I found someone to work for me today.

I'm off to Sam's for supplies to feed the 6 who are arriving at noon today.

Iain, those interpretations were amusing.  I've heard an expression you used  before too - 'gobsmacked' on Trading Spaces, a TV show.  The show was filmed in England of a Scottish couple.

Heather, I do hope things go well for you today.

Pat

Oh, Iain, what a lovely thought!  I'd love to be a donkey as well!  Thanks for those thoughts this morning.  I'm praying for you as you are working in that corner of your wife's kitchen!  I added some photos you've taken to your testimony, Iain.  Hope you approve!  Your Testimony

Hi Joan!  Don't worry about it.  It happens all the time so I just copied and pasted it for you.  Have a good time at Sam's!  Great store!

Jen, it's always so good to see you here so bright and early.  Got your email as well.  We must get together.

Praying for you today, Heather.

Good morning, friends,

Beautiful music, Pat - one of my very most favorites. The words of that song remind me of how far I've come thanks to the grace and love of our Saviour.

I can imagine that Heather and hubby are entering the courtroom as I speak. May they be uplifted and comforted by our prayers and may God in His wisdom lead and guide in this situation.

I stopped and prayed for Heather and her family this   morning.  Wishing Peace for everyone.

Glad you enjoyed that music, Ruth Ann.  It's one of my favorites as well.

My brother is on his way down to Guelph from Toronto to help me with a few things in the house so I better go and get a move on here.

Have you ever met a new friend that you really enjoyed?  Rebecca did!  ;D

Good Morning Everyone.  It is another beautiful day here in Georgia but suppose to get up to 90 degrees.

Pat and Iain, thanks to both of you for the devotional thoughts this morning.  I had never thought about being the donkey.

We will attend Tom's funeral this afternoon.  There were many people at the viewing last evening.  We went with a friend who stopped by for us.

I am tired this morning so am not going to make individual comments.  I will try to stop by later.

Marilyn

Good Morning everyone. It is a little cooler here today so far at 61 F 6:34 am. Top temp today is supposed to be about 95 F, 10 degrees lower than yesterday.

Hey I want to be a donkey too. Once our Pastor did a sermon from the donkey's point of view.  I wish I could remember it so I could tell you more about it. But it has been awhile. It had an impact on me.

Oh now I remember. The Donkey, lowly as he was, was so proud to be carrying the King of Kings. As the people cheered and shouted Hosannas to the King, he felt like they were cheering him. It was the greatest moment of his life to have Jesus on his back at the triumphful entry into Jerusalem.

Well I need to check my email and also cruise around these threads to catch up.

My, what a chatty bunch.  And I didn't take notes.  So I will not try to mention everyone for fear of leaving someone out.  It is great to come in here each morning with a new devotional, new music, and renewing friendships throughout the world.  What a great beginning to a new day.

Change of plans here.  Lydia is going with her Grandma to her grandma's luncheon with her classmates from high school.  She was going to come over here for lunch and visit with Ali and I.  Ivalou fixed her a box lunch and Lydia asked her what she was doing.  No way, Jose!!!  She was fine yesterday but this morning she woke up wanting to go home and crying.  Home is 2 and a half hours away.  Then the thought of Grandma leaving her was just too much.  We have to keep her happy so she won't want to go home in the middle of the night.   :-[  So Lydia is going to Red Lobster with Grandma Sisson and have lunch with Grandma's friends.  I will probably go early to Jerry's and have lunch with him before going to church tonight to the Audio/Visual meeting.

Jerry is rubbing off on me....too much information, probably... ::) ::) ::)

Yesterday we had our two month anniversary of this wonderful forum.  Many of us had been together for the better part of a year on another forum and lots of unforeseen happenings occurred that brought us to this place of opening our own forum.  Some things in life are sad and many are happy events and we thank the Lord for the happy times and for the not so happy times too when we learn from the Master how to cope with them.

Many of us are still in the process of learning!   :-\

Many of us represent different denominations and meeting places in our Christian life and walk and sometimes it's difficult to accept what others feel is proper and correct but I'm happy with what I've seen here in that we all try to be tolerant. Thanks for that!   Some of us are relatively new believers and others of us are more mature in our walk with the Lord.  Let's always keep our eyes on the Saviour and search the scriptures diligently for answers to our problems.

Every so often, we should read the Policy and Purpose statements just to review in our minds what the real purpose of this place is.  I'd like for us to glorify God in whatever we do whether it be our talk, our songs, or our photos.  Thanks for already doing that.

I'd like to take this opportunity to thank you all from the bottom of my heart for "being there" when things were bleak at times.  Sometimes we just couldn't understand the lessons we were to learn but we've come through it together with the Lord's help!

I'd also like to publicly thank the Moderators on the forum for without their help and suggestions I'd be totally lost.

So, thanks to you...

Some people talk about big vacations.  Some talk about huge new houses.  All sorts of things are on the "dream list" of many in this world but for me, I'd Rather Have Jesus!

I'D RATHER HAVE JESUS

I'd rather have Jesus than silver or gold;
I'd rather be His than have riches untold;
I'd rather have Jesus than houses or land;
I'd rather be led by His nail-pierced hand:

refrain:
Than to be the king of a vast domain or be held in sin's dread sway!
I'd rather have Jesus than anything this world affords today.

I'd rather have Jesus than men's applause;
I'd rather be faithful to His dear cause;
I'd rather have Jesus than world-wide fame;
I'd rather be true to His holy name:

He's fairer than lilies of rarest bloom;
He's sweeter than honey from out the comb;
He's all that my hungering spirit needs -
I'd rather have Jesus and let Him lead:

I'm late in arriving here today.  I went swimming this morning for the forst time in over a week, and it felt so good!  I really miss it when I'm away and cannot swim.  The temperature is still below normal, so the Swim Team kids are still swimming indoors, plus all the little ones are taking swimming classes, so it is a busy, busy place in the mornings!  They always clear a lane or two for those of us who are .........uh......more mature ??? :o  I guess they do not want to make the taxpayers unhappy!

I have a lot to do today to finish getting supplies into the trailer for this weekend.  Beth and John have gone to Boise City, Oklahoma today to visit her Dad.  Darrel had to make another trip to Garden City.  So we are off in all directions around here!

Heather, prayers for your family today.

See you all later!

My My there have been quite a few posts in here this morning already. I am ready for work early as usual. Pat I think you said things very well in you post to ALL of us here. Uplifting our Savior is the foremost thing we must remember as christians no matter what denomination we are , I feel that we all are very tollerant of the others not of the same denomination and I love here personally. :-* :-*

I have been busy composing a letter to my landlord re: my rights as a tenant and my rights as a senior citizen. I have informed him of the illegalaties of his actions and asked him to respect my rights until I move. Lets pray that he receives it with and open heart and sees his mistakes and repents. I think I have told you how overbearing he is not just with his wife but once he let me have it too, he was in the wrong and never recognized that he was. Even after his wife and I proved I was in the right. So he needs a lot of prayer his name is Don Schenck.

I'll be back later.

Thank you for the devotional, your (reminder) message, and for that song!  My Dad used to sing that in church ... "I'd Rather Have Jesus" ... another one he loved to sing (and I loved to hear) is "I'm A Child Of The King" ... These are wonderful memories that I cherish.

I saw Rebecca's new friend last night, and really love your pictorial of the meeting!  :D

I'll be back later.  There are a few other things to which I need to attend.

See yuh!    ;D 8) ;)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO OUR PAT

Good afternoon everyone.  Yes, a lot of traffic here today.  I have always loved the song, "Redeemed."  In a way that says it all.  This is why Jesus came and it is what salvation is about.

1 Pet 1:18-19  For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your forefathers,  but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect.  (NIV)

It is good to see each one today.  Tonight we have our third presentation at VBS, the crucifixion.  When we come to that part the crosses will be presented behind a sheet with the silhouette  showing on the sheet.  We had another great crowd last night.  Tomorrow night we will finish with the story of the resurrection.

--- Papa John    ;D          <:))))><<

Eph 2:8-9  For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-- and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God-- not by works, so that no one can boast.(NIV)

May I add my Birthday greetings to you as well, Pat?

I love all the hymns you post here, also the one Papa John mentioned in the previous post.  I just can't think of a favourite, but "Victory in Jesus" would sure rank in the top 10!

Its hard to believe CP is 2 months old.  We sure have grown haven't we.

Thanks, Jen for asking about Anthony.  I have missed him too., so if you are "lurking" Anthony, please drop by and say hello!

Well, what a lovely time I've had reading your posts.  Thanks so much!   :-* :-*

Thanks also for the emails I've received privately with greetings.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY PAT!!!!!!!

I'm so glad to hear you had a good time with your family.  Did you get spoiled?  I wish I had known ahead of time.  Oh well, maybe I'll pop over yet sometime this week.  I agree, we must get together.

I have invited another person to join, I'm not sure yet whether he will or not.  Let's hope so.

God has sure been teaching me a lot of lessons lately.  I'm so glad.  I felt for a while there like I was beyond being teachable, or that I was incapable of hearing Him anymore.  He's been so good to me, blessing me with new things each day.  Of course, I think it might take a while for the outside to catch up with the lessons taking place on the inside.  I just pray that my family will continue to be patient with me.  I hope one day they will be able to see it, if God grants me enough grace to react to them the way He's been showing me.  It's just that the flesh battles and rebels so hard!

Ok, now that I've spouted a mini sermon.  I have to get to bed.  I've been trying to get up earlier in the morning to get in my quiet times.  People never used to get up before six thirty here.  But now, with people working, they do.  So have a great night everyone and sweet dreams.  Jen.
