Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Morning Devotional...

Worship:
What Good Is It?

And one cried to another and said: "Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts; the whole earth is full of His glory!"
--Isaiah 6:3

If you want to pray strategically, in a way which would please God, pray that God might raise up men who would see the beauty of the Lord our God and would begin to preach it and hold it out to people, instead of offering peace of mind, deliverance from cigarettes, a better job and nicer cottage....

What good is all our busy religion if God isn't in it? What good is it if we've lost majesty, reverence, worship--an awareness of the divine? What good is it if we've lost a sense of the Presence and the ability to retreat within our own hearts and meet God in the garden?  If we've lost that, why build another church? Why make more converts to an effete Christianity? Why bring people to follow after a Savior so far off that He doesn't own them?

We need to improve the quality of our Christianity, and we never will until we raise our concept of God back to that held by apostle, sage, prophet, saint and reformer. When we put God back where He belongs, we will instictively and automatically move up again; the whole spiral of our religious direction will be upward.
Dr. Tozer in The Attributes of  God, 194-195.

"Lord, I do indeed pray this morning that You might 'raise up men who would see the beauty of the Lord our God and would begin to preach it and hold it out to people....' Help us to 'raise our concept of God back to that held by apostle, sage, prophet, saint and reformer.' Oh, Lord, help us to 'put God back where He belongs.'
Amen."

Some thought provoking stuff here.  When I read "Pray that God might raise up men who would see the beauty of the Lord our God and would begin to preach it and hold it out to people", it amazes me how far we've come as a people.  When I was a young boy (it wasn't THAT long ago!), people had a reverence to the Lord.  Even the drunkard would be humbled if one was speaking of the Lord or the Bible.  It's getting harder and harder to find a man who sees the beauty of the Lord.  But we should be of good courage!  God is still on the throne!!

karmat

Good morning all!  Hope all is going well for you and you are having a beautiful day, wherever you may be.  Just wanted to say HI!

JudyB

Good Morning everyone.

How are the children Karma?

Ray I agree.  The thing that is the most heartbreaking is seeing brothers and sisters in the Lord not realizing the effect  of their actions have and do things that show the same irreverence. Then when the body is bleeding they kick others when they are down.  Oh Dear Lord Be with those who are down and bleeding.  Hold your in your hand and let them feel your presence!

Pat good devotional, please continue to pray.

It is an overcast day here inthe north.  The temp is fine at 22*C  Melaura has another couple of days of exams.  The teachers are doing things differently here, they give 3 - 4 smaller exams in one subject and that gives the students a breather between the diffeerent parts.  I remember the hour and a half to two hour exams and the panic I would feel at the length.  I think this way is much better.

Time to go I have phone calls to make for Bonnie, so Till later

I am in agreement with what you said Judy. Last night I was at my granddaughter's birthday party , and I heard that awful four letter word coming out of the mouth of her other grandmother who I know is a Christian and  her husband was a preacher at one time and still preaches now and then.  I could not believe it it when siting right there next to me she used that word more than one time in reference to her younger daughter's behavior.

Please pray for Erin and Langdon they are on alcohol and Meth and she is pregnant due in September. She is my DIL's younger sister it is a sad situation they also have two little boys.

Good morning!  I'm just stopping by for a moment before going out to do some face to face confrontation regarding my military ID renewal.   :clobber:  It expired six weeks ago and I have been very patient with the folks that are in charge of getting the papers to my sponsor (Tom) for his signature.  They keep telling me "we've sent them" but whenever I speak with him he hasn't seen them!  This morning I plan to ask for the papers and then I will personally take them to Tom for his signature.

He is in the Veteran's Home in Yountville, CA so that means a quick drive down there this weekend.  I'll do it just to get this done and over with!  Besides, what else do I have to do this weekend?     :)

See y'all later .... Have a great day in the Lord!

It is raining, blessed rain.  We are in the mountains and the moisture is badly needed.

We sawRocky Mountain Big Horn sheep, moose, elk, deer & a few chipmunks onthe drive - what another blessing to see such magnificient animals.

JudyB:  I have a quilt here & am hand-finishing the binding.  Well, need good light for my old eyes.  I think you can quilt too - sometimes people even give you fabric.

Gotta go - Don has fixed breakfast & he doesn't want to carry it to the basement as thestairs are steep.

Just checking in.

Janet:  Shirley (Tisie) sent you an email.

Marilyn:  Too dry - too hot in the summer & probably too cold in the winter for Rhodies.  Waaaaahhhhh But - we have other abundance of nature.

I'm back ... The officer at the USCG station gave me the papers.  They need to be notarized!  Why didn't someone tell me that all the other times I've spoken to them about this?  I was even told the last time, by the Petty Officer, "I sent those out a couple days ago."  Sure she did!   :ticked:

Anyway, I will make the trip to Yountville, CA and see if we can find a Norary on the weekend to get this task done.

While I was out this morning I went by AAA for a good map of California and to the Grange to find out what to do about the squirrels living under my house, then to Safeway for the recommended moth balls.  Hopefully this will encourage the little squatters to move on to another location before they chew on something they shouldn't.  :-\

Next I need to do some house cleaning and laundry in preparation of leaving.  I haven't decided whether to leave late tonight or early tomorrow ... Decisions ... decisions ....decisions .... :-\

See y'all ...........

Nita

Jane, whenever you leave.....have a safe trip.  I can't believe after as many times as you've contacted them, this is the first mention of notarization.  Seems we sure have to keep on top of things cuz no one else is. :)  Oh well, maybe the Lord wanted you to go to California again for some reason.

I hope you get the squirrels taken care of.   Yep...they need to think about finding a nice home in a tree somewhere.

Carol.  RAIN!!  It sure feels good when you need it, eh?  We've had more the last few days.  I think I would like more sunshine, but God knows just what we need, so I'm happy with that.

I voted on the duck caption.  Isn't he cute? :)

Jane Walker

Hey there Nita!   :hello:  I just talked with Tom and he doesn't want me to come down until Monday ... doesn't think we'd find a Notary on a Saturday.  Oh well ... I'm easy!   ;)

I tossed some moth balls under the house earlier and my neighbor said a squirrel was running frantically back and forth on their porch trying to get in ... Guess he was already looking for a new home!  Their trees have been cut down (or at least some of them) so that's one reason they are shopping for a new home.

I will probably leave Sunday and stop somewhere along the way to be able to meet with Tom Monday morning.  Then I'll head on back home.  Not my original plan, but workable.

Etta Sue

I am back home safe and sound.  And I have a Praise!  Walter can't use his right arm/hand.  While in the waiting room today, Walter had his right hand on his knee.  Nancy put her hand on Walter's hand.  Then Walter put his left hand on her hand.  Then Nancy put her other hand on Walter's left hand.  Next...and I saw him do this twice, Walter pulled his right hand out from under the three hands and put it on top!  Prior to this bio-feedback he could only move his right arm/hand by using his left hand.  So the bio-feedback is working.  Also to move his right foot forward or back while in the wheelchair, he used his left foot.  Now he moves his right foot on its own strength!!  Hallelujah!  God is Good!!

I am tired.  I think bed will be early tonight.

God Bless You All

I didn't realize I was using the sassy cat with my post.  It sure doesn't go with my post.  Sorry about that, folks!!

Sue

Sassy cat might not go with your post Etta Sue, but he still is cute!

I tried to lay down to get a nap before heading to the store to work tonight but was too wound up I guess to sleep.  Perhaps I should try again to get at least an hour or so.

Pat

Ray, I sure agree with you.  Thanks for your input today.

Yes, Judy, still praying here.

Jane, I hope you get rid of the squirrels from under your house but aren't they just so cute?   :ticked:  Hope you get this other stuff figured out too.

It's just so nice to come in here and read all your posts.  Please make sure you congratulate the folks for taking part in the Mini Challenge.

Loren has come up with the topic for the next one so you are all going to have to get out and take a specific photo!

I'll be back a little later to open the new New Every Morning.

Day By Day
(Click to hear music)

Words by Lina Berg
Music by Oscar Ahnfelt

Day by day and with each passing moment,
Strength I find to meet my trials here;
Trusting in my Father's wise bestowment,
I've no cause for worry or for fear.
He whose heart is kind beyond all measure
Gives unto each day what He deems best
Lovingly, it's part of pain and pleasure,
Mingling toil with peace and with rest.

Ev'ry day the Lord Himself is near me
With a special mercy for each hour;
All my cares He fain would bear, and cheer me,
He whose name is Counselor and Pow'r.
The protection of His child and treasure
Is a charge that on Himself He laid;
"As thy days, thy strength shall be in measure,"
This the pledge to me He hath made.

Help me then in ev'ry tribulation
So to trust thy promises, O Lord,
That I lose not faith's sweet consolation
Offered me within Thy Holy Word.
Help me, Lord, when toil and trouble meeting,
E'er to take, as from a father's hand,
One by one, the days, the moments fleeting,
'Til I reach the blessed, promised land.

Time to lock the door.

What great news, Etta Sue.  I had biofeedback many years ago and I know it would have helped my neck but I just couldn't afford it back then.
