Janet: Hello, Friends!  Let's get this going again!  I miss  hearing from all of you! 2025-01-23, 19:26:16

Don: Hey Judy, It's been a long time. Hope you are doing well. 2024-12-02, 22:41:41

JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Oldiesmann: So sorry for your loss Carol. Praying for you and your family :( 2022-05-01, 17:13:05

Carol: My husband Don is with the angels.....Our family was able to hold  ourselves together for the last moments.  Juar rhoufhr you might want to know. 2022-04-29, 23:35:15

Morning Devotional...

Worship:
Worship Seven Days a Week

But the Lord is in His holy temple. Let all the earth keep silence before Him.
--Habakkuk 2:20

So I've got to tell you that if you do not worship God seven days a week, you do not worship Him on one day a week. There is no such thing known in heaven as Sunday worship unless it is accompanied by Monday worship and Tuesday worship and so on....

We come into God's house and say, "The Lord is in His holy temple, let us all kneel before Him." Very nice. I think it's nice to start a service that way once in a while. But when any of you men enter your office Monday morning at 9 o'clock, if you can't walk into that office and say, "The Lord is in my office, let all the world be silent before Him," then you are not worshiping the Lord on Sunday. If you can't worship Him on Monday you didn't worship Him on Sunday. If you don't worship Him on Saturday you are not in very good shape to worship Him on Sunday.
Dr. Tozer on Worship and Entertainment, 9,24.

"Lord, permeate my whole life with a spirit of worship--all week long, every day. Amen."

AMEN.

I have come to the point in my life where I realize that worship isn't a single action (though that may be part of if).  Worship is a lifestyle.  What I do on a day to day basis shows whether or not I worship HIM or someone else.

Aaahhh Karma this is so true.  Worship needs to be a lifestyle.  I totally agree.

Great devotional this morning and thanks for the added thoughts Karma and Jane.

Today is a work day at church, so I plan to go to the gym in about half an hour and then straight onto church until late afternoon.  I hope everyone has a great time and I will see y'all later on.

Good Morning What a wonderful devotional to start the morning with today Thanks Pat.

Amen to Karma.

Jane Are you making the trip to California two or three days? If you are coming through here on Tuesday afternoon either going north or south I would like to meet you for tea and prayer before you continue on your way. On Tuesday I am off work by 12:30, do you still have my cell number? I will send it in an email to you.

Hello Anthony. Hope you've had a wonderful time of fellowship working at your church today.

Last night I was balancing my checkbook and found that I had not entered a couple of checks in the register. Oh Oh now I will be overdrawn when they come in unless I can get it into the bank in time.

Good Morning... Yes it is morning.  Had a rough night last night.  We lost hydro about 8:00 and we all went to bed about 9:30.  Hydro came back on about 11:00.  I was reading much like I did as a teen, flashlight and a book, this time not under the covers.  Every time I tried that Mother would catch me..... I now understand why!!!!!  Elizabeth fell last night and banged up both knees.  One has a big gouge in it.  With no light I cleaned it as best I could and bandaged it.  She didn't sleep well.  She came into my room to sleep and then complained about  a misquito buzzing her. I sent her back into her own bed.  Rick started his (semi) truck about 4:30, I woke to that, the cat started meowing (she is in heat yet again) and woke me......A rough night.

John is home today. He is still in Pensylvania as I type this.  It will be late tonight when he gets home.  The company he works for is pushing him so we won't see him much this summer.

Jane I will be praying for driving safety.  If you are able to hook up with marilyn have a good coffee visit.

I have a lot to do today so I am off.  Be back later

Good Morning!

Since I am at peace with whatever my Father plans for me it seems I will be leaving here tomorrow (Sunday) morning.  I'll spend the night at a motel along the way and be in Yountville early Monday morning so Tom and I can get these papers notarized and I can be on my way back home!  I don't mind driving, it's just that I really don't like driving 101!   >:(  This time, though, I will enjoy stopping in McVille for a visit with Marilyn.

Thanks JudyB.  I appreciate your prayers.

I thought I would be gone over the weekend so yesterday I was trying to use up all the food I had in the 'fridge.  About the time I was cleaning up Tom called and changed my plans!  I thought I'd have to cook some more for today but then my neighbor called and invited me over for pizza.  As I was leaving she had me stop by her garden and gave me all the fixin's for a salad!  I'm doing just fine.

I'll be able to just relax today because all my preparation was completed yesterday and I'm not leaving until morning!  Aaahhh a day of rest!   ;)

Hi everyone.  I have been very busy the last couple of days and didn't even get on the Internet to read the discussion boards yesterday.  We had guests here all day yesterday.  Yesterday morning I bought a new desktop computer as mine continued to act up and Fry's had a very good deal  on a Hewlett Packard computer with Windows XP Media Center software.  It has a gig of ram and a 200 gig hard drive.  It also has a 16X DVD double layer read/write burner on it.  I didn't get to start setting it up last evening until after 5 pm.  I have been working this morning on loading software and installing perphriels.  This was a special offer and included a 19" HP Flat Screen monitor and it is wonderful.  There was also an offer if you bought a computer  package you could get a new Canon printer for $99 with a $100 rebate.  My friend will come over next week and help me get the additional hard drives in the computer and see if my TV card will work in it.

I have read all the postings but as I have so much to do, including some webwork that has fallen behind with all the time I spent on computers last week, I will just say hi to everyone.

Hi y'all.  We got back late last night, and it was sure good to sleep in our own beds.  Our son left as soon as he had got us unloaded, so he's probably  in northern Oregon or even home in Olympia by now.  He was going to spend the night in Grants Pass.  We had a great visit, first of all with him, both going and coming, then with the grandkids, their mother, and the grandparents on the othear side as well.  The graduation and baccalaureate were great, though a bit long.  They had a very large graduating class.  Our Abigail graduated with a gold cord, and she was in the top 5%!  She also sang, played the bass in the jazz band, etc., etc.  Wow!  And next year it's her sister - also with all kinds of honors.  We're just so thankful and proud!  I'll be uploading a few pix into the galery after a while.  I took a few pix at the baccalaureate, then Abby's sister took quite a few at the actual graduation., and whe's supposede to send me some by email attachment.

Jane - I see where you're coming down this way tomorrow.  If you're in McKinleyville anytime between 12:30PM and 9PM, call me or have Marilyn call me.  She's got the number.  I'll come wherever you are.

Jane Walker

Hey there Al ... welcome home!

I will have most of the day in and around McVille ... hope to get there in time to meet Marilyn at church and then whatever strikes our fancy after that.  I'll for sure ask her to call you ... if she hasn't already seen your post and made a note to do that anyway.

See ya tomorrow!

Jane I love the 101 drive, down by the ocean.   The scenery is amazing.  Be sure to take your camera and get some pictures so we all can see!  While you are at it give Marilyn a hug and Al a hello from me OK?

This is turning out to be a not too bad a day.  Stay cool everyone.

Sounds like a deal, Marilyn!

JudyB I love driving by the ocean too ... it's the slow going and traffic from Eureka on south that gets me!

After reading the posts, I wish I lived on the west coast so I could join the mini-bash.   :'(

Pat ~ Did I miss it?  What is the new challenge?  I completely forgot about 'Reflections'!   :idiot:

I am tired.  I finally realized that me stong-arming my swing set with my porch swing on it to the drive when I mow was hurting my back.  I had brick edgers left from landscaping and landscaping cloth.  All I needed was river rocks.  And muscle and strength.  I hadn't done this before because I thought I needed to remove the grass to 'set' the edgers and knew this wouldn't work because I like my swing under the maple tree and the three roots would be in the way.  But I set the bricks on the grass/roots and landscape cloth.  I purchased 6 bags of river rocks and Aaron was here to lift them out of the trunk for me.  But I went back and got 8 more bags.  It looks really nice and no more strong-arming that swing!

Oh, what you must think of me!  Thank you all so much for the birthday wishes. I honestly did not mean to ignore you.  I saw the first few and then the phone rang - my son in Arizona was the first to call.  From then on...  well you know how it goes and I even forgot I had the computer on until I went to bed and saw the little lights.   :-[  And since then I've hardly been on the computer at all.

So here I am - very belatedly - thanking all of you.

I am still at son's cabin.  We went into town for a Chinese lunch - no, I didn't eat a Chinese person --  Then, we took our books and sat by the lake for a few hours came back here and I just keep going over to the huge quilt & work a bit onthe edging once in a while.  Slow going.

Jeanne Lee:  Well, a Happy Birthday to you!!!

Al:  What a nice time you had - it sounds like it was hectic too.  Fun to look forward to this next year.

Am so happy that we heard our nephew in Oregon is going to meet with us in August - he is driving to Montana.  Can't wait - a mini-family gathering.

Leftover Chinese meal for tonight for me & I think Don wants just a hot dog.  I didn't bring much in groceries because we took off so quickly - my ironing is waiting for me when we get home but this was more important.

Have a lovely Sunday everyone.

You know you're close to 65 when you hear from Medicare. :)  Got my first reminder from them today.  I'm officially eligible October 1.  I read what I had time to read, so  now I need to find out how to let them know that I don't want to buy a supplemental ins plan.  I have Champ VA For Life.  That's such a blessing.   I guess I'll hear something from CHAMPVA before October.

Kim and I planted 4 tomato plants today.  I sure hope they do well.  Right now the wind is whipping them, so my son just went out and put the cages over them.  The instructions said they didn't need to be staked, but "they" didn't know about our wind, I bet. :)

Larry, I hope you enjoy your new computer.  Sounds like it has lots of memory and room...but then again, your getting another hard drive, so you'll have LOADS of computer.  It's so frustrating when things keep going wrong.  After awhile, it's just time for a new one if we can afford it.

Have a good time visiting, Marilyn, Al and Jane.  Have some Mexican food for me.

I was looking for the new challenge too.  Maybe it's linked up the top now.  I didn't look today.

Kim and I are going to dinner with some other women tonight.  I haven't done that in a long time, so it'll be nice.  My sister, Sue, just got back from picking up her grandkids, visiting overnight and then turning them over to their dad.......lots of driving...so she's staying home and resting.

Blessings,  Nita

What a great call to worship (today's devotion)  God works wonders on Sunday, but he really works in his people through the week when they/we turn to him...............Thanks for the reminder.

Had a good day today cleaning out the filing cabinet.  Ran across some notes & letters that Donna and I had written after her nearly dying 28 yrs ago.  That experience really put life in perspective for both of us.

Also ran across my first sermon (1974)....given in our old church...telling about how Jesus interrupted my life in 1972 and how it had not been the same since.  (and still isn't)

I am not or ever was a pastor, but our old church was so small (How small was it?) that we couldn't afford to hire a substitute pastor when ours was on vacation...the lay leaders did it.l

Well, I had internet connection this morning and early afternoon but only for email and MSN Messenger and Yahoo.  I couldn't get into any sites.

Then my friend asked me if I'd like to join her for a hot dog and sit down with the dogs and eat them in the breeze at the old closed up jail here in town which we did.  Had internet later.

So, Etta Sue, we'll get the new challenge set up tomorrow.  Loren gave me the title.  It's something you'll have to go out and take a photo of. :)

Now, I'm locking the door.

Talk to you tomorrow.
