JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Good Morning Everyone...

It rained all night but what a time Houston, Texas is having with rain!  It almost looks as if it was a hurricane but we know it wasn't--just rain.

Sad night for Canada as the Stanley Cup went to the Hurricanes in Carolina.  Oh well, we hope next year will be better for us.

I have a granddaughter maybe coming to live with me so I'm busy trying to make order out of chaos for her.

Good morning.  Am I first for today.  Tomorrow we have the first day of Summer.  So the year will be half over.  Looks like a nice warm day here.

Eph 5:15-20
15   See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise,
16   Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.
17   Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.
18   And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;
19   Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;
20   Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;  (KJV)

Papa John

Eph 2:8-9  For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-- and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God-- not by works, so that no one can boast.(NIV)

Janet

Good morning!

I had a call from Beth's advocate at the Center for Independent Living last evening saying she has come off the waiting list and is eligible for services. So I told him the developments of this past month (seems like a year!) and his response was "We'll get her out of that nursing home!"  He says he can file an amended thing and get her more help...........wants me to get an appointment for him and me to speak with Dr. Plumlee in the morning.  I don't really want to get her hopes all up again if they can't provide enough help; and basically, she needs help 24 hours a day.  So I'm in a quandary.  I think I will get the appointment with Dr. P. first, then if he thinks she can maybe go home with more help, let Danny talk to Beth.  He is really an advocate in favor of his clients!  I really appreciate that.

Good morning to those who have already posted, good to see you!  I must get moving, several calls to make, then swimming!

G'Morning ... I'm reporting in.   :)

I arrived home about 9:40 last evening after a long day.  I put 1003 miles on my car since leaving here at 4:45 Sunday morning!

As Marilyn has already said: she and I drove into the church parking lot at the same time.  I enjoyed meeting all her friends and the Bible class as well as the church service.  After church she called to let Al know where we would meet him and Marbeth.  She left a message 'cuz they weren't home.  She and I went on to the Mexican restaurant and waited (I think she called again) and they eventually arrived.  We had a good visit and enjoyed the meal together before I left to drive south to Ukiah.

That was another 3 hour drive and I was very ready to get out of the car.  BTW AL, that eatery you recommended is no longer in Ukiah -- or at least I couldn't find it listed in the phone book.   :(  I didn't want to drive any more anyway, so I just ate a couple granola bars and went to bed.

I left Ukiah about 7:30 yesterday morning and drove the very tricky route to Yountville to meet with Tom.  That was another adventure!  Anyway, after much confusion (on his part) and messing around, we found a Notary in town and got the papers signed and notarized then went back to the Veterans Home in time to have lunch with a very nice couple.  It was just noon as I left for the drive back north.

I at first thought I would only drive part of the way and then stop for another night at a motel before coming on home, but it stays daylight a long time this close to the first day of summer, so I continied.

I stopped a couple times for gas and took an hour at a Denny's in Redding to eat and change positions to rest a bit.

Yup, a pretty long couple of days but my mission is accomplished.

Now I have read all that y'all have been "saying" while I was gone and have nothing to add or debate with any of you except for Marilyn!!

How come you get to edit yourself out of a picture and we don't?   :clobber:

Oh, I get it ... it's your camera.     I really think each of us should have editing rights or none of us should!  You best keep yourself in that shot or I'll look kinda funny sitting there listing to the left and grinning ... could be a cause for gossip y'think?

Al, it was great seeing you and Marbeth again ... Now next time is y'alls turn to come up here!

Etta Sue, I sure do remember that day -- Jerry's first stroke --  :'(  we were so close to meeting.  We did get to talk on the phone a couple times though and we can still hold out the hope that maybe ... someday ... it can still happen.

Janet, it seems the advocate is really trying to help Beth but will that put the burden on you and Darrel again?  Can they give her 24 hour care in her home?  You just can't get involved in that the way you were and have been.  She would be very happy, I'm sure, but it takes to big a toll on you emotionally and physically.  You gotta take care of YOU, y'know!

I need to get away from this computer and see what I need at the store.  Stuff happens and life goes on ... gotta run to catch up with it sometimes.  I'll talk atcha later.
Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass .... it's about learning to dance in the rain!

Hello hello hello

Glad to see your trip was safe and effective, Jane.  I, for one, am about ready to take a road trip (ie - vacation) but bernard is literally covered up with work, so I don't think that is going to happen anytime soon.  Good that he has stuff to do.  Bad he has to work so many hours.

Janet, Glad to hear that some good news may be coming to Beth.  Hope it materializes. {{hugs}}

Etta -- The year is not half over, it is only half begun.  or somethng like that. :)

I gotta run.  We are running behind, seriously, and I'm not even sure why I'm online right now. :/

"Tomorrow morning," the surgeon began, "I'll open up your heart...

"You'll find Jesus there," the boy interrupted.  The surgeon looked up, annoyed "I'll cut your heart open," he continued, to see how much damage has been done..."

"But when you open up my heart, you'll find Jesus in there," said the boy.

The surgeon looked to the parents, who sat quietly.

"When I see how much damage has been done, I'll sew your heart and chest back up, and I'll plan what to do next."

"But you'll find Jesus in my heart. The Bible says He lives there. The hymns all say He lives there. You'll find Him in my heart."

The surgeon had had enough. "I'll tell you what I'll find in your heart.  I'll find damaged muscle, low blood supply, and weakened vessels.  And I'll find out if I can make you well."

"You'll find Jesus there too. He lives there."

The surgeon left.

The surgeon sat in his office, recording his notes from the surgery, "...damaged aorta, damaged pulmonary vein, widespread muscle degeneration.  No hope for transplant, no hope for cure. Therapy:  painkillers and bed rest. Prognosis:, " here he paused, "death within one year."

He stopped the recorder, but there was more to be said. "Why?" he asked aloud.

"Why did You do this? You've put him here; You've put him in this pain; and You've cursed him to an early death. Why?"

The Lord answered and said, "The boy, My lamb, was not meant for your flock for long, for he is a part of My flock, and will forever be.  Here, in My flock, he will feel no pain, and will be comforted as you cannot imagine. His parents will one day join him here, and they will know peace, and My flock will continue to grow."

The surgeon's tears were hot, but his anger was hotter. "You created that boy, and You created that heart. He'll be dead in months. Why?"

The Lord answered, "The boy, My lamb, shall return to My flock, for He has Done his duty: I did not put My lamb with your flock to lose him, but to retrieve another lost lamb."

The surgeon wept.. The surgeon sat beside the boy's bed; the boy's parents sat across from him. The boy awoke and whispered, "Did you cut open my heart?"

"Yes," said the surgeon.

"What did you find?" asked the boy.

"I found Jesus there," said the surgeon.

Jane, you had quite a trip!  Hope you accomplished your goal.  When I called Dr. Plumlee, I told him that if he sees no way, even with more help (excluding me and Darrel) I don't want Danny to get Beth's hopes up about coming home.  Dr. Plumlee agrees.  We will meet in the morning at 9:30 and talk about it.  Danny said he needs Dr. Plumlee's blessing and for him to be comfortable with what he (Danny) has in mind to do.

My good friend Pat (the Ulysses one!) took me to lunch today for my birthday.  We went to Pizza Hut.

I was interrupted yesterday while trying to order prints from Kodak.  I can get them for 15c each, cheaper than Wal-Mart.  But now I don't know for sure where I was.  :-\  So have to go hunting again.

See y'all later.

We thank our Lord, Jane, that you made it back ok.  It's a long way and a lot of driving, but evidently He was right there with you!  I've seen some of Marilyn's pix, and so far she's in 'em.  By the way, I don't know about any long driving trips in the forseeable future.  My left leg swells  somewhat, and I'm afraid of the cellulitis coming back on again.  But lets see what our Lord does.  We sure like coming up that way.

Janet - it sure seems to me like it would be better in the long run for Beth just to stay at the care center.  But may our Lord direct y'all.

OK OK OK I won't edit me out of the picture. Glad you made it home safely Jane

I have ordered a new keyboard an also a skin to cover it and keep it clean.

I trimmed Jan's Ceicil Bruener rose bush this morning so I have potted some of the cuttings, I hope they take. I have had some in pots for over a year and they haven't done anything. I got some better cuttings this time.

The other lady  were I went to clean this afternoon had me wipoingdown walls as well as vacuuming and dusting, cleaning off the tops of her cabinets. I am sure glad I got paid $50. to do that stuff.

Yes, Al, seems that way to us, too.  But we will listen to what the man has to offer.  It is really sad to be stuck in a nursing home at her age.  :'(

Sometime this week, maybe two days, I need to go down and help someone get ready for a wedding!  Lots to do, both decorating at the church and getting the garage ready for a family dinner thing.  :)

Guess I will go hunting Kodak again.
