Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Morning Devotional...

When the chief priests therefore and officers saw Him, they cried out, saying, Crucify Him, crucify Him. [/b]
John 19:6

This was the darkest day in Jewish history.

These were the people of the commonwealth of Israel and the covenants of promise.

They had been, through their long and turbulent history, the recipients of God's grace. Yet they disowned the Lord as their Messiah.

But remember that all the world was represented there, Gentile as well as Jew.

Thank God the darkness of Calvary broke through into the sunshine of resurrection life for all who believe.
--Drew Craig

Dumb darkness wrapt Thy soul a space,
The darkness due to me,
But now that face of radiant grace,
Shines forth in light on me.

I had the best day today and believe or not, I didn't bring my camera.  ;D

We went folfing today from 9:30am-6:30pm.  I took 3rd in the womens division, Zachery took 3rd in the 16 and under and Mike took 1st.  It was so fun.

Do you all remember when Chandraya was going to those dance auditions for Twinkling Starz Company?
Guess what?  She made it!  Wooohoooo...
She also made it to Ballet 2. I am so proud of her.  She works so hard at it.  She is now taking gymnastics and is in the advanced group and advancing quite well for her age.

I better go...church in the morning.  I didn't have time to read yesterdays post, but will tomorrow.  I am thinking of you all.

Good morning, friends, It has been an extremely long day, but I couldn't go to sleep until I said my thanks for your prayers and to God for safety in travel.

Well write more later in the day.

Pinocle?  I had forgotten about Pinocle.  And we also played Rook, Old Maid, Crazy 8's and War when we were kids.

The other evening when I played Euchre (that's the correct spelling according to my dictionary), it was really fun.  Where you purchase cards, you can purchase party cards, too.  Each person was given a card and at the top was your number...I was 8.  Then the card could be for 2 tables or 3 tables.  Since we had two tables we looked at that part.  First set I was Table 1 where numbers 1 - 4, 5 - 8 played.  You played only 8 hands and you wrote your score on the card.  Next set maybe was Table 2....2 - 4 and 1 - 8 played etc.  After 8 sets, in which you had played partners with each player, the highest score won.  Well, we didn't have prices but that person supposibly got the largest portion of Strawberries and Shortcake.... ???  It was fun.  I had never played that way before.

Whew!  Yesterday was a big day.  Tony and I shoveled river rock.  I opened up boxes of pretties to put in my landscaping.  I took edgers...that were holding down the landscaping cloth to the garage.  I cleaned up and went to Noblesville to eat and shop.  Came back and did some more work in the yard.  I took pictures of all my pretties.  Then showered and put pictures on PhotoSite.  Click on
Landscaping when you get to my site.

I am all ready for church.  It seems weird not to be going to get Jerry but he says that he is contagious to people who have not had Chicken Pox until he dries up.  I always did say he was all wet!!!   8) 8)

Hi everyone.

It is really quiet here in CP this weekend.  Folks must be taking advantage of the warmer weather.  It didn't get to be as bad as they had predicted here yesterday as the humidity seems to have gone down in the afternoon.  That helped a lot.

We don't have much planned for today and think we will come home and have a big salad for lunch after church.  I bought a head of lettuce yesterday and we already had a full head in the refrigerator.  So we need to eat a lot of salad the next few days.

Sonja, nice to read of your fun day and the competitions in which your family did so well.  It sounds like you all will be busy with dance with your dauaghter's selection to the  Twinkling Starz Company and for the Ballet 2.

Etta Sue, those tallies for the game sound like what is used for party bridge where you keep changing partners.  The little cards keep everyone straight as to where to play next and with whom.  I have played most of those other games you mentioned, except I don't remember playing War.  Your yard must be looking very nice with all that river rock.

Pat, I was happy to see that you were able to attend the family reunion and had a nice ride in the country getting back home.  I think sometimes the extra time involved in taking some of the back roads is well worth it.

Ruth Ann, I am happy to see you back home and do hope you had a restful night and are refreshed today.  Do hope this will be a day of rest for you.

Ria, sorry you weren't able to sleep well last night.  Maybe you can have a little nap this afternoon so you won't be so tired.

Jeanne, it sure is a frustrating feeling to see water coming across the floor.  Glad you found the problem and it wasn't a serious one.  It is nice of you to prepare the house for your daughter and family before they get there.  Know you will enjoy having them close by for a few days.

Ruth, it sounds like your company must have some really good bus drivers to take all the top prizes.  Does that mean a raise for all the bus drivers?  ::)

Ruthie, peonies are something that don't grow well here in the south.  However, we used to have many of them on the farm where I grew up and mother transplanted some when she moved to town and then again when they moved to their last house.  I remember you have to watch for ants hiding in the blooms.

It will soon be time to head to Sunday School and church.  Hope everyone has a wonderful day.

Marilyn

Good Morning I am amost rushing through here this morning, I have to get ready for church and there  in 1 1/2 hours. I couldn't beleive how many emails I had this morning. Not near as many as Pat gets though.

I have invited some one else to come and take a look at us here so y-all be on your best behavior  ;D and no drinking too much; coffee that is. (Just kidding) I do hope she will join us here.

This morning the Teen Challenge people are doing our service.  It is absolutely wonderful to see and hear the testimonies of how God has changed their lives.  Maybe moreso for me to hear them since I have been
where they have been. I was never in Teen Challenge, I din't k ow of that program back then. This is the same program where Nicky Cruz was saved.

Happy the home when God is there
And love fills everyone one,
When with united work and prayer
The master's will is done.

Happy the home where God's strong love
Is starting to appear.
Where all the children hear His fame
And parents hold Him dear.

Happy the home where prayer is heard
And paise is everywhere,
Where parents love the sacred Word
And its true wisdom share.

Lord, let us in our homes agree
This blessed peace to gain;
Unite our hearts in love to Thee,
And love to all will reign.

Papa John

Good Sunday afternoon.  We had good Bible classes this morning and a wonderful period of worship.

I have talked with all our daughters today who wished me a happy Father's Day.  This is the first year I am a father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.  Martha, is in New Mexico for some language teachers workshops and she called.  Rachel called and they are stopping by in a little while.  Beth also called.

Martha had left a card for me saying we had a perfect father daughter relationship.  I opened it up and it said,  "You are the father and I am perfect."   Ha.

Tonight after service we are going to a small group meeting where we will have a good dinner.

At church this morning we had the report on the Vacation Bible School.  We had over 500 children in classes the biggest one we have ever had.

A group of 30 of our young people are returning from Honduras Wednesday and another group of 30 will be leaving to go there Thursday.  Makes me wish I was  young again.

Eccl 11:9  Rejoice, O young man, in thy youth; and let thy heart cheer thee in the days of thy youth, and walk in the ways of thine heart, and in the sight of thine eyes: but know thou, that for all these things God will bring thee into judgment.  (KJV)

Eccl 12:1  Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth, while the evil days come not, nor the years draw nigh, when thou shalt say, I have no pleasure in them;  (KJV)

Pat I will have to go look that one up.

I will be brigning Gloria home from the hospital later today. When I called bea to tell her we may have to find her another caregiver, she said to me"oh I'm the one who has to suffer, good by" It looks like God has closed that door, I didn't even get the oportunity to reply. Gloria is going to need 7 days a week care for ahwile, I can still got to Fay's. I am glad that Bea's door has closed. I won't have to put up with her son any longer.

Oh wow, we are getting hail right now.  Be back in a few.

Sonifo

That didn't last long.  :-/

We are having a pretty good day.

We had a mouse escape in the boy's room.  Talking about a freaked out mom.  They weren't allowed to do anything till they found it. Eeek!  I was in the paper today.  Not a picture but a comment from yesterdays first go at the tourniment.  LOL...talk about wierd.  I was nerves when they interviewed me and you can tell if you read what I said.  LOL...I had a good laugh after reading it.

Not sure what we are going to do the rest of the evening.
Be back later.

Judy McKenna

Marilyn - That sure wasn't very nice of Bea to react that way!

I didn't get what you mean't when you said, "I won't have to put up with he son anymore".  Sounds like he was a miserable fellow, was he?

Sonja:  Congratulations to your wee daughter on her accomplishments.  (I didn't name her here.... I'm sure I would spell her name wrong....lol)

Karma:  If you are looking in...how are you feeling these days?

Pat - I love that piece.....it was sung at David's wedding....do you remember?

We had a lovely Father's Day service at church.  Each man (not just the fathers) were given a devotional book, put out by "Promise Keepers".

Norm felt very well, today, and was able to attend church.  After the service, we joined 6 other couples for brunch, and fellowship.  It was one of the nicest Sunday's we have had in a long time. :)
"I am too blessed to be stressed".

Judy McKenna

Sonja:
We had a mouse awhile back too. Norm set the trap, and in no time, I heard it go off!

Problem was though, only his foot was caught,  There he was, squirrming like crazy, trying to get free.

I got a wee bit of cheese, and held it to him, and he nibbled at it.  Norm then took him outside, and let him go!  The worst part is.... I don't know where he got in.  We got some bait and put it down, hopefully, thats the last we'll see of him.

BTW - Soni:  what is "folfing".. when I first read that word, I thought it was a "typo".,....lol

Jeanne Lee

We've had a lovely quiet day today and Gene had some very welcome Father's Day phone calls.

But the biggest surprise showed up in our back yard.  A wild turkey was helping herself to the spilled seeds under the bird feeder!  :o  I ran for the camera, but opening the door so I could get a shot scared her away.  Gene thinks that we may see more, now that one of the flock has discovered some free food.

Tomorrow I start a full week at work - 8 to 5 four days and 8:30 to 12:00 on Friday. Friday afternoon will probably be spent in my swivel rocker with a book in my hands and my eyes shut tight.   ;D

Judy Mc, the bad thing about the mouse is it is the boy's pet mouse, so if I was to set a trap they would be pretty upset with me.  I think I would too.  The boys did find it.  She didn't leave the room. Thank goodness.

Thanks also for the congrats for Chandraya;D

Folfing is a game like golf but with disc' (frisbees).  Unstead of holes we have baskets.  It is so fun.  It also requires quite a bit of walking up and down hills.  We went through the course 2 times.  Probably walked 2 or more miles Saturday.

Turkeys, Jeanne Lee?  Wow, they are the coolest bird.  I hope they come back so I can see some pictures.  :D

Judy I have had run ins with bea's son that had nothing at all to do with her care. It is a long sdtory and was posted on here too. He called me at 9 pm and wanted me to drive over 30 mmiles to pick him up and I refused. Bea got mad because I refused. That's the short version.

I am back now from picking up Gloria at the hospital and taking her grocery shopping I will be back at her house at 8 am  then to Fay's at 12:30 and home at 3:30 this will be 6 days a week  from now on. God has blessed me by "enlarging my territory"

Thanks for the devotional, Pat.
We are having terribly hot weather and I have not felt much like posting....Have been busy with things around here and the heat is exhausting.  Even Miss Squeek doesn't know what to do with herself.  No air conditioning,  as normally not hot for more than a few weeks. We are having 80 & 90 degree (F) and that is July/August weather!  Guess folks will have to install air conditioning in their homes if this becomes a regular way of life.  Most 'regular' homes are without....even the newer ones like this.

Do you know why they call our language the 'Mother Tongue?'
Fathers never get a chance to use much of it!!

Pleasant dreams all and God Bless.

CHANGE NOT THY FAITH WITH CHANGING TIMES

Papa John

We just got home from church late.  After the regular service we had a small group meeting to eat together.  Everything was good.  I may have eaten too much.

I have just a minute.  We had started our Bible reading and the phone rang and Cornelia is talking to Martha who is in New Mexico this week.

Good to see everyone today.  Tomorrow we are going to a visitation for a friend of ours who died.  She was our neighbor many years ago and she and her husband were not Christians.  They never went to church anywhere.  We encouraged them and tried to set up studies with them but were not successful.  Some years later they became Christians and we got a letter from them saying they knew we would want to know.

Isa 55:10-11  For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater:
So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.

Hello everyone!  It was a beautiful, though hot, day today in WEstern NC.

I am feeling okay, except for a cold.  Hopefully, I can get an appointment with the doctor this week and find out how far along I am.  I know I shouldn't be showing yet, but I am already having to wear maternity pants or sweats, and none of my jeans are comfortable.   ???  Most of my dresses and skirts still fit, fortunately.

I have been reading, but haven't felt much like posting in the past day or two.  I apologize and will try to be more "regular" now that my cold is clearing up.

:)

Pat

Nice to hear from you, Karma.  We'll all be waiting for the "proper date"!

Well, closing up a bit early.
