Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Morning Devotional...

A Warrant for Jesus' Arrest
John 7:32-53  NLT

32When the Pharisees heard that the crowds were murmuring such things, they and the leading priests sent Temple guards to arrest Jesus. 33But Jesus told them, "I will be here a little longer. Then I will return to the one who sent me. 34You will search for me but not find me. And you won't be able to come where I am."

35The Jewish leaders were puzzled by this statement. "Where is he planning to go?" they asked. "Maybe he is thinking of leaving the country and going to the Jews in other lands, or maybe even to the Gentiles! 36What does he mean when he says, `You will search for me but not find me,' and `You won't be able to come where I am'?"

37On the last day, the climax of the festival, Jesus stood and shouted to the crowds, "If you are thirsty, come to me! 38If you believe in me, come and drink! For the Scriptures declare that rivers of living water will flow out from within." 39(When he said "living water," he was speaking of the Spirit, who would be given to everyone believing in him. But the Spirit had not yet been given, because Jesus had not yet entered into his glory.)

40When the crowds heard him say this, some of them declared, "This man surely is the Prophet." 41Others said, "He is the Messiah." Still others said, "But he can't be! Will the Messiah come from Galilee? 42For the Scriptures clearly state that the Messiah will be born of the royal line of David, in Bethlehem, the village where King David was born." 43So the crowd was divided in their opinion about him. 44And some wanted him arrested, but no one touched him.

45The Temple guards who had been sent to arrest him returned to the leading priests and Pharisees. "Why didn't you bring him in?" they demanded.

46"We have never heard anyone talk like this!" the guards responded.

47"Have you been led astray, too?" the Pharisees mocked. 48"Is there a single one of us rulers or Pharisees who believes in him? 49These ignorant crowds do, but what do they know about it? A curse on them anyway!"

50Nicodemus, the leader who had met with Jesus earlier, then spoke up. 51"Is it legal to convict a man before he is given a hearing?" he asked.

52They replied, "Are you from Galilee, too? Search the Scriptures and see for yourself--no prophet ever comes from Galilee!"

53Then the meeting broke up and everybody went home.

What does it mean to have "rivers of living water" flowing from within you?

The crowd was asking questions about Jesus.  Some believed, others were hostile, and others disqualified Jesus as the Messiah because he was from Nazareth, not Bethlehem (Mic. 5:2).

But he was born in Bethlehem (Luke 2:1-7), although he grew up in Nazareth.  If they had looked more carefully, they would not have jumped to the wrong, conclusions.

When you search for God's truth, make sure you look carefully and thoughtfully at the Bible with an open heart and mind.  Don't jump to conclusions before knowing more of what the Bible says.

Marilyn ~ Thanks for the compliment on my challenge photos.  Sure makes me feel good about them.

Carol ~ Nancy said last Friday that she will take Walter to Grand Rapids as long as the snow isn't flying...probably until the end of October and then start back the first of April.  He is to be evaluated next week so Nancy will know more about it then...if they think they can still improve his mobility or not.

Janet ~ I know you gotta do what ya gotta do with Beth.  We aren't around her and we don't know what she is able to do and not do.  I know I was thinking of you and how much easier it would be to leave it all up to someone else to care for her and then when you go to see her, you can enjoy her and not have to 'work'.

Kevin ~ It seems weird that is tomorrow for you while it is today for me.  Or is it yesterday for me and today for you?  Whatever!  As long as you post...that is all that matters!!!

Well, again...I am off to Grand Rapids again tomorrow.  Looking forward to that motel room for 'Me' time.  That is what is most enjoyable for me and then seeing Walter improve is most enjoyable.

Etta Sue:  Hello - I made a shout today & it is really two hours earlier here.  Having  :coffee:   It is overcast today & perhaps a storm this afternoon - with us, we are or should be aware that it can be hailstorm when anything comes through.

My foot is swollen from housework yesterday and not finished, of course.  I wonder how long this goes on.

Thinking of everyone.

Anthony:  How goes it??????

Hi everyone from a hot and steamy Georgia.  We are getting very arid and parched here with no rain in sight for today and temperatures in the higher ninties.  This is my Calvin Cove afternoon at the church so will have to get out around 1:45 pm and go there for an hour.  Pat has a quilting luncheon down by the church but is riding with one of the othr ladies so I don't have to take her down to the church area and pick her up.  I will just take her nearby to meet the lady in a little bit.

Today was the day to get more sweet corn from my friend.  We have already had a dozen ears.  I reminded the guys at the cafe this morning and then when we left I completely forgot and it wasn't until my friend sent me an instant message and asked if I had remembered.  Jumped in my car and when I got there he still had 3 dozen ears left so got a dozen.  This is all of the silver king sweet corn he is going to have this year and it has been beyond delicious.

I continue to work on getting my computer setup as I want it and am working on my music library this week.  I should finish it up today.

Janet, I don't envy you in the decisions you must make as it appears there are not very good alternatives.  Is there any possibility of finding another care home in another town.  Even if you had to drive further to see her you would be out from under the moment by moment pressure of having to be the one she calls upon for every need it something happens to her caregivers.  I am sure none of us are trying to tell you what you should do but are only sharing our concern for you all and offering suggestions (which you probably have already carefully considered).  Every situation is unique and until someone has to walk that path it is hard to understand the pressures and strain involved.

Marilyn, I hope something works out for you with the gentleman (or perhaps I should say man since you said he wasn't a nice person).

JudyB, send some of that coolness down this way please.

Hope everyone has a nice day.  Back to work.

Marilyn

Larry when I spoke to Mimi again last night she told me that the job might only be for the summer until the regular night worker comes back. Only one night per week would be a great help. I have never done personal care for a man and I am not sure I want to. It is hard enough for me to wipe and bathe a woman. I have only had to do that once or twice.

Well the blood draw is over and  let me tell you she sure didn't get much. She maybe calling me this afternoon go go have it done again tomorrow morning. I am so hard to get even a tiny bit of blood out of. That's what I get for the past life of a IV drug user.

Good to see you posting Alma.

Got to go to work now.

Thank you Etta Sue for this mornings devotional.
Larry, it's hot here in Tennesse too!  Had mow the lawn early!!
Marilyn, I pray everything goes well for you.
Alma, well said!  His grace is sufficient for me!!
Carol, that's right -assume nothing, we are commanded to study and KNOW!

I pray everyone had a wonderful day and you are richly blessed by our Lord.

Sue

Just stopped in catch up.

A quiet day at work, so am able to be here.  The coolness has ended, and another warm spell is upon us.

I am spoiled.  There is a flat screen here at work, and is it ever nice to look at.

Have a great day everyone.

Carol

It isn't a morning prayer but I want to send my good thoughts and prayers to all.

Alma:  Thanks for your sweet prayer.

Ray:  Thank you for your prayer for today as well.

Larry:  I have quilting tomorrow in Loveland in the basement of a big Methodist church.  We work on our own things in that group -

Marilyn:  Caregiving is tough work.  May you always have the strength to continue your good works.

Sue:  Quiet days at work - enjoy it whenever possible.

We just had the house power washed in preparation of painting - the guy was two days late but that is what happens.  Now, the air conditioner is screaming - and that wasn't planned right now but it is 20 years old so falling apart.  So it goes.

Pat:  What is happening with you these days?

Oh, we become a smoke-free state on July 1st.

Carol

Hello Everyone!

So nice to see Ray drop in.

I've had a sort of a trying day with my car.  I forgot that my licence sticker was due on my birthday and also my drivers licence renewal for another 4 years was up for renewal so this is the year to have the emission control test so went over there to get that done and it failed.

Not sure yet what the problem is but the fellow drove me home and here I am without a car to get anywhere.

I sure hope it's not a lot of money.

Hello everyone:
I think this is June 23rd or am I wrong.  Yes I have been away for a numbers of days.  There has been a lot going on around me but in my home I have so very much to be thankful for.  In the State of Oregon there was a very horrific traffic accident which  took the lives of two very dear friends of mine.  There were 6 in the van the oldest an 83 yr young lady  and youngest a 14 day old baby. The baby suffered no injury's but the 83 yrs old lady and another 61 yr young lady both lost their lives the remaining 3 have multipal injuries. This family had moved to Surrey BC from Ontario several years ago.  On June 14 they their way south for a vacation.  All are believers including the fellow driving the other veh.

Pat:  I met Earl & Elaine Dyball in the local restaurant this morning, they had been out strawberry picking and later in the day Earl was going to the farm to do some haying for a friend. Once a farmer always a farmer.

As a school bus driver I am looking fwd to the end of the school year only 4 days.

Marilyn:  Do not blame the past for slow running blood because mine can be slow as well - it all depends which arm they take it from.

Time to get a little work done.

Hi everyone.  I think CP has probably been down most of the day.  I couldn't access it until now.

We are leaving in a minute or so to go out to eat with friends at a seafood place.  I am looking forward to it.

It is hot here today.  All for now.

Hey, I'm in!  It is early Saturday morning here, so Saturday evening where most of you are :D .

I have a fairly busy day coming up, but that is not at all a bad thing.  We are in the middle of the rainy season here.  It hasn't rained consistently like it normally does, but when it has rained, it has been a downpour that lasts for hours! :P .

It is good to have CP back up :laff:

I see my coffee is ready.   :coffee:

Heh, Kevin.  It's only Friday afternoon here in Oregon. :)

My first time in today, and I think it's the 23rd, although the heading says June 22.  I guess it must have something to do with CP being down?

Another sunny day here on the coast.  It isn't as windy as it has been.

I've been sorta "down" with my back again.  Sitting isn't painful, but walking is.  I feel best laying on the floor, so have been doing that periodically.  This is pretty routine with me, the back thing, so it'll be ok again.  No mowing till it's all better, and no shoveling or bending to plant anything.

Pat, I'm so sorry about your car.  I sure hope it's nothing really expensive. Do you have anyone, besides the mechanic, who knows about such things?  Not that I don't trust your mechanic, but it always costs, as my mother used to say, "an arm and a leg."

Gotta go and recline somewhere again.  Later,  Nita

JudyB

I Have a quick update on Rick's father.  He was perscribed a medication that was a super Vitamin E.  The name of the medication was just 2 letters different from a heavy duty kidney med.  He was given the kidney med and that was the mistake.  He now has (on top of the lung and stomach cancer) kidney damage.  His ankles are the size of a normal persons thigh.  He is taking it in good stride, but is in a lot of discomfort, and cannot walk any distance at all.  This has taken his independence away, he now has to live with his daughter, Rick's sister.  Please pray that as they do the tests for the kidney damage, God Heals and there is little to no damage.

Sorry this is such a downer message.

Carol

I spent most of the day in a church basement, quilting and having a great time.  We are trying to keep the house cool as it is 90 degrees F. outside.

JudyB:  Sad that there are so many medical mistakes.

Nita:  Understand - you need to stretch out on the floor for that back pain.  Take care.

Ruth:  How terrible for the family on vacation.

Carol

Al Moak

Father, I pray for Rick's father.  Man can and does make terrible mistakes, but I know You can reverse it and even somehow make it a blessing, and I pray You will through our Lord Jesus Christ.

My sincere thanks to whoever got CP back up and running again!

Pat

Hello folks!

What a wonderful verse on the sidebar.  Do you agree?

Today's Verse

--------------------------------
But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

Isaiah 40:31

Trying day for me.  I spoke to Marilyn last night and told her that I couldn't post the new NEM due to the site being down.  Ian is very sorry.

I had a meeting early this morning but first of all, I had to go and pay for my car.  $482.27 just for the emission control test and the repairs to get the car to pass.

Then the licence for two years was $148. and then my driver's licence was $75.00

But all is done now and that's good.

Oh Pat... I'm so sorry to hear about all that expense.  I hope you would have phoned me, to let one of us take you wherever you needed to go.

Janet: I think of you and Beth often.   Please know that I am praying for you both.
"I am too blessed to be stressed".

Pat

Thanks Judy...

It's ok though as I had a meeting this morning for the Grange Hill East Neighbourhood Group and the lady who now lives in the house where Judy used to live decided as she was going to the meeting as well to take me and we ended up eating lunch in Wendy's.
