Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Pat - Unfortunately it is a dodgy dial up connection I have with no real prospect of getting anything better for many years.

I am used to it, but it costs me a small fortue as I upoload my websites. I do not think that people realise how long it takes to upload numerous files onto the Internet through a soggy shoestring!!

Better go now. Take care and God Bless.

Night sis, Noght all!, Night John Boy!! Tee Hee!

Hi Anthony...

It's nice to see you posting.  No one will mind your posting here.  It's always good to see you.

Are you moving away from the town where you live?  I hope that your mother is well.  I've been praying for her (and you).

Keep in touch.

Papa John

Well, here we are at 4:15 in the afternoon.  Better late than never.

The doctor called this morning to tell Cornelia that her blood test was OK so she won't have to have another transfusion.

We got out to the grocery for a minute today.  She divided our list and I picked up some of the things and she got the other things.

Pat the devotional this morning was very good.  Both the 12th chapter of Romans and the 13th chapter of Hebrews are filled with such wonderful practical lessons for Christians.

Mieka, the thoughts you presented are really interesting for us today when we tend to make heroes of sports or movie stars.  Being more thoughtful in dealing with those of our own immediate families is important for us.  Love should be evident in our lives every day.

Judy B. and Ruth Ann, sometimes we have to make that special effort to forgive those who may have harmed us.  Again, love is what makes it easier.  God forgives us not because we have pleased Him but because he loves us.  Of course he wants us to please Him.

Matt 5:44  But I tell you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you,  (NIV)
Matt 5:46  If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that? (NIV)

Iain, thanks for reminding us of the many miracles in Luke 1, and of the importance of believing.

Paulette, yes the beauty all around us is easy for us to miss when then think of the evil in the world.  We do need to take time "to smell the roses."

Jerry, I am like you.  I don't ever want to be unkind to anyone, especially those of my family.  So we need to stop and think.

Larry, we got up to 89 degrees today here.  What did we do before air conditioning.  Now our homes, our cars, stores, etc. all are air conditioned.  I think we are a little spoiled.

Marilyn, I loved your story of the little boy who questioned his teacher's brain.  I copied it to use sometime in a class.

Ruth, it is good to see you today.  You are right.  There are a lot of good lessons here today.

Sonja, I'm glad for Lila Mae's wisdom teeth.  I like your new picture with the beautiful eyes.

Kathy, I too am glad that we have God anytime during the day.  It is easier for a person to overcome doubts when he talks regularly with God.

Al, I would be glad to meet at the coffee/tea place if you would just send me money for the airline ticket.  Otherwise I'm afraid I can't make it. Thanks for the words to the old hymn.  I think I am not familiar with it.

Joyce, we are glad for your aunt's recovery.  Thank you for the good thoughts.

Mercychild, what I thought of when I read the sentence, "Mentality is here, it's a part of us, and God can redeem it too". is that sometimes we say something is just due to mentality.  Those people steal because it is their mentality and you expect it of them.  But God CAN change the way people are.

Karmat and Etta Sue, I would comment on your posts but I already have been at this too long.  Good to see you all today.

Anthony, it is so good to see you.  May God bless you in your move.

Etta Sue

Just a so-so afternoon.  I have been looking at old pictures and it has given me the blahs!  I don't like that.  I like to be happy!

I am talking to Jerry on IM so that helps.  And I am looking forward to tomorrow night and Saturday night!

I haven't done a thing this afternoon that I should have been doing..... :-[ :-[

Talk to you all in the morning.  I pray that everyone has a great night's rest!!!

Hello, Pat, and everyone!  Just popping in to say "HI"!

Judy McKenna

I'm always happy to read everyone's posts., and in particular, Papa John's post; he reminds me of posts I might otherwise forget!

P.J., you must take notes...you always seem to remember to comment on each post.

How I'd love to meet Iain for tea., like Papa John said, unless I can get an airplane ticket, the "computer tea" will have to do!

Marilyn:  That was a good story of the little boy and his teacher.

Judy:  Should you ever decide to "fire up" the semi...drive down this way, and we'll all head south and visit Janet!.  (not to worry, Janet...we'll give you plenty of warning...LOL)

Anthony:  What a nice surprise to see you posting again!... what took you so long?

Sonja:  Lovely photo!

Meika:  Nice to have you back too!

Etta Sue:  I can't imagine you having "the blahs"!.  You have such a nice cheery smile.

We all feel "down" at times., thankfully it dosen't last eh?

I'm missing Beverly...have you heard from her Pat?
"I am too blessed to be stressed".

Jeanne Lee

Anthony, it was a delight to see a message from you and I hope you'll soon be able to get back on the internet.   I'm sure you know what a curious bunch we are - we all have questions about where you're going, why you're going and for how long, and about your mother and last but not least about your cat.   ;D  We do care!  :-*

It was up above 100 with high humidity again today - a real three H day.  But a cooler front is supposed to come through tomorrow afternoon, on the heels of thunder storms.

Forgiveness is something I guess we all have to struggle with - at least I know I do.   I think, though, that the Lord has been working overtime with me on it and I'm getting better. :)

So many people have depression problems.  Here is something that I found really good.  I received it from Katie (who is going to Hatie)

I'll be happy when...

We convince ourselves that life will be better after we get married, have a baby, then another. Then we are frustrated that the kids aren't old enough and we'll be more content when they are. After that, we're frustrated that we have teenagers to deal with. We will certainly be happy when they are out of that stage. We tell ourselves that our life will be complete when our spouse gets his or her act together, when we get a nicer car, when we are able to go on a nice vacation or when we retire. The truth is there's no better time to be happy than right now. If not now, when? Your life will always be filled with challenges.

It's best to admit this to yourself and decide to be happy anyway. Happiness is the way. So, treasure every moment that you have and treasure it more because you shared it with someone special, special enough to spend your time with ... and remember that time waits for no one.

So, stop waiting ...
Until your car or home is paid off.
Until you get a new car or home.
Until your kids leave the house.
Until you go back to school.
Until you finish school.
Until you lose 10 lbs.
Until you gain 10 lbs.
Until you get married.
Until you get a divorce.
Until you have kids.
Until you retire.
Until summer..
Until spring.
Until winter.
Until fall.
Until you die.

There is no better time than right now to be happy. Happiness is a journey, not a destination. So work like you don't need money, love like you've never been hurt, and, dance like no one's watching.

Pat

Sonja, nice new photos!  We sure could learn so much from you and your photography skills.

Sorry that your dialup is so slow, Iain.  Thanks for all of your comments today.  It's always so good to see you here.

Papa John, great to see your comments as well.  Thanks so much for them.  Actually, today has been a wonderful day in NEM, hasn't it?

I've enjoyed your additions, JudyB to NEM today.

Hi Judy (from Guelph!)  Great to see you online too.  We sure miss you when you're not here.

Wow!  what a photo you have now, Mieka!  LOL

Etta Sue, I've finally finished Week 3 (but not the bonus lessons).  You can click if you wish!  Sorry you were feeling "down".

By the way, Marilyn, what "day" is this now (and I don't mean how many days till you move?)?

Yes, Jeanne, the humidity here has been just awful.  I now have one room with the A/C in it.  Andrew and Terena came over and helped to put it in.

I'm so glad you enjoyed all the devotionals in here today, Kathy!  Great to see you here too.

I love that hymn, Al Moak!  What tune do you like to sing it to?  Thanks for posting it here.  Great message in it.

Paulette and Jen, so nice to see you both as well.  Any jobs yet, Jen?  That was so sad that you lost your job.

Good news about your aunt, Joyce!

Are you getting together with Etta Sue and Jerry, Karma?  Tell Bernard that we'd sure love to see him here.

Ruth Ann, thanks for your thoughts today.  I must say it again that I've found the messages in here today so refreshing and they were a blessing to my soul.

Great to see you Anthony.

Pray for me in the coming days as I do this daily trek to Hamilton with my friend.  Tomorrow isn't as early but it's still early.  I can sleep in till 6 am!

Talk to you later.

Pat

Hey, everyone!  I just got home; we had to take Beth to Amarillo again today to the doctor.  It is looking really bleak for her; she barely can walk, has been falling quite a bit.  So she has decided to apply for some disability  help, as her bills are still coming, but no income to pay them with is coming!  Your prayers in this matter will be much appreciated!

Anthony!  Good to see you!  Where are you going?  Huh?  Huh?  Huh?  Inquiring minds want to know! ;)

Sonja, another sweet photo of you!

I must go back and read all today's posts, as I just quickly scanned through so I could speak to all of you before the door is locked for today.  Talk to you all later!

Janet, I'm so sorry to read your message with regard to Beth.  It really does sound bleak indeed.  I'll be leaving the computer shortly just so that I might pray especially for her.

Please keep us posted, Janet.  Thanks for sharing.

Ok, Marilyn!  I'll keep praying though.

Mieka, mieka, mieka. . . tsk, tsk, tsk.  Your foundation is just a touch dark girlfriend, and you really should invest in some good cleanser and moisturizer. Your skin looks a touch dry!!

Yep, this time tomorrow night I will be somewhere near Indianapolis, if we don't get lost.   ;)  WooHoo --  Etta, we've been  letting Travis practice petting our cat so that he doesn't traumatize Ali!  :-\

Anyway, I probably won't be posting much the next two or three days.  Will be on the road most of the time.

Take care and don't work too hard!

Hi all!

I haven't forgotten any of you even tho I haven't been around a whole lot lately.  I have been busy trying to get Cheryl's house painted.  (Jon's sister)  She has been paying me so that we have a little money in order to get up to see the children.

I didn't tell any of you, I was holding my breath, hoping, praying, and sitting on pins and needles....I had a job interview on June 19th for a sales position that may turn into a graphics and web design position with a new local company here.  We (the sales team) are to be called account executives, and we are going to be working on getting area businesses to buy space on a web site for advertising.  I heard about the job and applied right away, after my dear dad, (who was working in the Human Resources dept of a trucking company) looked over my resume, and gave me some helpful suggestions.  On the 19th I found out that they have a double interview process, and I was being invited to the second interview.  The second interview was yesterday morning, before I went north to see the kids.    I left the interview, and started driving, and had the overwhelming sence of peace for the job.  I had nothing confirmed but it "felt" like I had the job.  I had to wait until I got home last night at 11:30 before I found out that the job was being offered to me.  They didn't just hire me, they asked me if I wanted to work for them!!!  I am so excited about it.  I start my training on July 4th (not a holiday here in Canada) and will continue it on July 5th.  July 7th, will be my first official day of work.  This job has the potential, if I put the work into it, of getting us out of the heap of debt we are in, and even the rent will get paid every month without issue!

Another praise report.  Jon has had a job that he has absolutely loved.  He has come home every night for the last 3 months saying, "I love my job".  Then one day, he came home and said that he loved his job, but he wasn't making enough money doing it.  So I started emailing resumes for him.  He had his interview at a new company on June 20th, and was accepted right away.  This new job, which he was in training for today, has included a pay raise from what he was being paid before.

God is so good!!
I am sitting on Cloud Nine!

I am able to be around for the next few days...at least until July 4th, and then I will be able to check in at least every morning, before work, and then after work.

Thankyou all for your prayers.

Love
Heather

Pat

Wonderful news, Heather!  Thanks for sharing it with us all.

Now, it's time to shut the door once again.  I hope that tomorrow will be a day like this has been in New Every Morning!
