Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Morning Devotional...

Mnason of Cyprus, an old disciple.
Acts 21:16

The great commission of our Lord Jesus is given in Matthew 28:18-20.

Here our Lord Jesus commands His disciples to make other "disciples," not just to get "decisions" or "church members." Christ is interested in people
accepting Him as Lord and Saviour and then following Him.

It is encouraging to see an elderly person who is still a "disciple." Such a person was Mnason.

Make it your goal to be a disciple all through life.
--Donald Norbie

Give me the love that leads the way,
the faith that nothing can dismay,
The hope no disappointments tire,
the passion that will burn like fire,
Let me not sink to be a clod:
make me Thy fuel, Flame of God.

Good morning everyone.

I am posting Friday night for tomorrow morning....I know the kids have said I have lost it, the remaining brain, a lot lately!

We will be away tomorrow for the better part of the day.  I am looking forward to this and have been for a while.  The lawns can wait till John has time to fix the mower.  I will call Jim when I get home tomorrow night.

Pat have a good day tomorrow.

Bye for now
Judy

RAINBOW:  All of our kids are within 1.5 hrs of us with the closest living in the same town and going to the same church as we do.

We don't see them as often as we'd like but their lives are as busy as ours was when our kids were active in school.  So we drop in on them from time to time.

Thank you Pat for the devotional this morning.  We are all praying that people in the city centre will listen to the gospel as some of the men from the church preach this morning.  It is a great shame that there is so much indifference in these days.

Ed, I'm glad that the children are not too far away.  It's nice to be surrounded by family.

JudyB, have a great day today.

From Last Night.

Pat,
I am sure  that Jack would enjoy the open air preaching.  The men who preach do a grand job, but the people milling around in the town don't seem interested.  In these days it is just the odd one or two who stop to find out more.

Ruth Ann, so glad that all is ok with your eyes.

Etta Sue, that sounds like a stressful time you have had over the past couple of days and I just can't relate to the fact that you have such a massive drive to a rehabilitation centre.  I hope that you all don't have to go through it again too soon.  You asked about my mother - she has very strong painkillers now and she can manage the stairs occasionally, but she  has a bed in the living room downstairs so that she doesn't have to go up the stairs very often.  Thank you for your concern.

Well, I'm off to the open air meeting.  See y'all later on.

Anthony.

Amazing poem there! thank you Auntii Pat for doing the morning devotional! I enjoyed it! thank you again.

I have a praise report for you all but it also doubles as a prayer request. One of my Aithiest friends (during Pitch 'N Praise 2006 in Paris Ontario) prayed for the first time in a long time, but the diffrence with this prayer was, she know knows the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal Saviour. For the pat 2 years she has gone through some pretty rough times, and her mother has been diagnosed with cancer this past week.  :'( But the good news is she is not falling back on her old ways, rather she is going to 6 youth groups / bible studys and church on Sundays. She has kept herself busy with all the hussle and bussle of all youth groups / bible studys and is becoming a firmer believer. A person at our church has recently bought her a new bible and she is egg-static over using it as much as possible and learning as she does so.  This is hre very first bible and she couldn't be happier it seems.

During school in the past week I recently found out I won 2 academic awards. my teachers will not tell me what subjects they are in, and I am excited to find out. June 13 is our award ceremony and I'm counting down the days.

Last night I was working on a model of my dream house, with hot glue and rocks and things like that. And silly me :idiot: burnt myself almost a million times. It wasn't funny at the time but thank God for making me with a sence of humour.

Well I have to go for now, I may be on latter. I hope you all have a great day.

Auntii Pat could you please give my daddy and Elizabeth a hug for me? And please get one or both of them to give you a hug from me.

Have a good and Godly day

Saturday morning here - I just want to inform Judy B. that it is Saturday.

RuthAnn:  Good news on your eye checkup!

Etta Sue:  What an exhausting day.  I feel sorry for your friends as well.

Anthony:  Does your church have an outdoor service?  We don't seem to do that with this church but we used to have picnics along with the service once or twice a year if weather agreed.  The pain killers for your mom can make her dizzy.  It has to be a worry for you all the time.    Oh,

QuoteIn these days it is just the odd one or two who stop to find out more
.  Those "odd" ones are out there, isn't that so right???????   ^-^  Thanks, Anthony!!!!

Ed:  Our 4 children live at the most 1.5 hours from our house but the traffic is a terrible freeway.  They are so busy as well - we talk all the time about moving closer but they are at work so much - all of them that there just isn't visiting time unless it is planned.

Pat:  In Shout, you asked how everyone is & I can honestly say that this is the first morning without foot pain - for sure, I should be able to make it to church.  Thankful here as maybe things are mending.

Good morning to all. Thank you Pat or the devotional this morning. I pray every day that my kids will accept Jesus as their personal Saviour and have a personal relationship with Him.

I had a rather restless night last night I slept well but restlessly. Just before I went to bed  I gave the dogs a treat and I had my back to Happy and accidentally stepped on his tail, he jerked away and I tried to move at the same time and twisted my back again in the same place as two weeks ago.

Today is the local Azalea Festival with a parade and barbecue etc. There are also bicycle races on the main street going through town. The races start at 9 am and the parade is right after that and lasts until 12pm. I am not going to Fay's today because there is no way for me to get there. I have to go down the main street.

So I am going to enjoy my day of rest. I may go to the  park and look around at all the booths then again I may just stay around home and rest.

Ed. I only have one of my  kids living close by. One is in North Carolina, three are in central California about 6 hours away and the youngest is just 8 miles from me. I haven't seen the other four in about 11 years.

Anthony street preaching sounds like something that needs to be done around here. People have turned so cold to the gospel in these last days just like the Bible says they would.  In my area there are so many New Agers who believe in everything from crystals to the earth goddess. One thing I always say when I meet new people is that I am a Christian.

Carol  I am so glad that I now live where the freeways aren't crazy like they were in Southern California. We are so rural and isolated  here in Northern California.

This is turning into a book so I will

C y-all later.

Marilyn:  I didn't realize that Anthony's church did street preaching.  I could not do that at all - I would faint first.  You are a good and faithful person and it is terrific that you found a nice home in a more quiet area.  Hoping that Happy's tail isn't hurting and your back is recuperating.

MARILYN:  We pray the same thing for our kids...so far 3 outa four are serving the Lord.  We also pray for our grandkids in the same and a great majority of them are serving God also.

Not sure why you haven't seen some of your kids in a long time.  All we can do is leave the door open....  As one who was estranged from my parents...read that kicked out of their house at age 19.....their door was always open.  Thanks to some intercession from from my brother...one day I walked through that open door.

Ed. My older children have been estranged from me for all those years. Two of them do not even talk to me and could care less whether I am dead or alive. The twins on the other had do talk to me but I do the calling. There was a wedding recently and I thought for sure I would be invited but I wasn't and it hurt, but I got over it. What was I supposed to expect after all those years even if I did talk to them on the phone  several times a year. They all know where I am , my address and phone number. The youngest has a different father than the 4 older ones and they never did treat him like a brother either. So it is just me and him. Some of the older one do serve the Lord and some don't.

Check this out give it time to load and press play. You will love these dogs. Sometime you have to press play a few times to get it going again.

Not doing too much today.  Aaron called and wanted me to take him to the bank so I did and then we had lunch out.  I made a computer birthday card earlier and it is in the mailbox.  Other than that...not much.

Oh, yeah!  Those dogs are sure smart!  Glad my girls aren't like that!

Al Moak

Well, we had our men's prayer breakfast this morning, so I was involved with that from about 6:30 to 10.  Now I'm just sitting here waiting for Marbeth to get the laundry done up at the laundry room.  Should be about an hour.  Please pray for one of our younger fellows, Smiles by name.  He had a seizure yesterday, and it feels to him like there'll be another one very soon.  He can't go to the doctor, though, because if he does they'll take away his driving for 6 months.  He makes his and his family's living by conducting his landsaping business, and if he can't drive, he can't do it.

Janet

Just running by to say hello!

Busy, busy, busy today.......I have about three days' worth of work to do and a half day to do it.  Think I'll make it?  ???

Howdy all.  It is 8:00pm here and just about to spend some time downstairs.

The street preaching didn't go as planned because there was some sort of a fayre in the city centre, but there was about 10 minutes of preaching and then trying to speak on a one-to-one basis with people.  I saw an old friend who hasn't attended church for over 5 years - I pray that he will make an effort to get back to where he once was.

Melaura, it was so good to see a new person posting today and a very encouraging post too.  What a wonderful testimony your friend has and thanks for sharing it with us.  I hope that you will come back many times in the future and encourage us some more.

Carol, I was going to take a photo of the street preaching, but thought it might put the preachers off.  It is difficult to speak to strangers in that sort of context, but there are a few of us so it doesn't seem so bad.  Some people stopped and talked - it was very encouraging.

Marilyn, sorry about the bad back.  It is difficult to get to sleep with back pain.  The only thing to do is take some painkillers.  I hope things get better as the day goes on.

Ed, it's encouraging to hear that three of your children love the Lord.  God is so good isn't He?

Hi Etta Sue, somebody told me that it is quite cheap to eat out in the U.S.  I can only do it on the odd occasion, but you can get fairly cheap meals if you look around.  Hope you have a nice day sister.

Hi Janet, and sorry Al, to hear about the young man.  I will be praying later in the evening.

I'm off downstairs.  God bless all.

Anthony..

It's so nice to sit here quietly and read all your posts.  I've had a very busy day.  Had to return a book I bought yesterday that was damaged and then I did a bit of grocery shopping and then came home to make supper for John (Judy's husband--my brother-in-law) and they left about 3/4 hour ago and have a 4 1/2 hour drive home to North Bay.

I'm very tired now so I might just have a nap.

I can't mention everyone as I'm sure I'll miss someone.

Quote from: Marilyn on June 03, 2006, 11:58:45 AMThey all know where I am , my address and phone number.

It is said that 5 yrs or more between siblings is like having a new family.  This was true in my case as I have half-sisters that are 12 and 15 yrs younger than I am.  The wife has a sister 5 yrs younger and we have a daughter 5 yrs younger than her siblings  In each of those cases the normal bonding between siblings has not taken place.  Oh they/we/I all love one another, but the closeness is not there.

As for knowing where you are, phone, etc I know what you mean.  My blood father never called or wrote.  He was dead before I found out.  I wasn't even mentioned in his obit.  For years my brother & I were the only McMurray's in the phone book.  I always wondered why he never chose to look us up.

All those years, I never knew where he was.  I thought perhaps he was in W.Va (his home state)  I found out that he died in a Vet's hospital not 15 miles from my home in Michigan

Years later, God led me on a trip of healing that open wound.  I even got to the point where I forgave my blood father for abandoning me the day I was born.  Without God's help I might still be harboring that stuffed hatred.

As Rainbow said....God really is great.......

Ed. I am at peace with the whole situation. One of these days I will make that 6 hour trip to  see some of them. My youngest wants nothing to do with his siblings because of the way they treated or didn't treat us as he was growing up. The twins are 12 yrs older than Gilbert. Yes God is so good my greatest prayer is for the restoration of my family, if not here then in heaven. I went to school with some McMurray's in Stockton California

Hi Pat, I have been enjoying my day working on making new stationery's in PSP, Crocheting etc. I did take the dogs out for walks trying to walk out the pain in my back. I finally broke down and took an  Aleve  after their walk and about 1 hr. ago I took a prescription pain pill.

It is the Ham string that is hurting when I move my leg a certain way, but the pain in my back is what  hurts the most.

Etta Sue that graphic is so cute, I hope you like the cat Alpha that I sent you. I have some other real nice Alpha's if you would like to see some samples, let me know.

I am back.  What an awesome day we had.

I have not uch to say but it was an enjoyable day.

Janet

Puff, puff, pant, pant!!  :P  What a day!  I have most of my stuff in the car now, so hope I am nearly ready for my week away from home.

I bought Beth a computer desk today, and Darrel and I took that and her trapeze for over her bed, and her dog! to the care home; then I had to backtrack because I forgot to take her clean laundry back to her.  It's been that kind of day.

Anthony, I pray that the seeds you and your fellow church members sowed today will yield a hundredfold harvest!  Bless you.

Ed, I'm  so glad you were able to be healed of the pain, and to get rid of the resentment that was doing harm to you, and be able to live free!  Isn't God good?

I will be away for several days, so you folks "hold down the fort" and I will be back!  Thanks.
