Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Morning Devotional...

For the vision is yet for an appointed time...wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.
Habakkuk 2:3

Have we lost our vision?

Perhaps the cares of this world have choked some of our early, lofty goals; or possibly other believers have disregarded us so many times, that it is no longer worth envisioning things for God.

If life can be compared to a book, be assured that the last chapter has not been written. Renew time with the Vision-giver; get back on track with Him.

Out of the ashes will come something much, much stronger.
--Craig Funston

Is the work difficult? Jesus directs thee.
Is the path dangerous? Jesus protects thee.
Fear not and falter not; let the Word cheer thee:
All through the unfolding year, He will be near thee.

I'm headed for my pillow, have to be up and gone early!  Have a wonderful day and do lots of posting so I will be way behind when I get home!

Carol

Just checking in here.  We went to a house dedication for a Habitat family tonight.  A single mom with two children.  The youngest child has a critical health condition and is in hospital.  What a wonderful thing - a house for them.  Everyone had tears.

Marilyn:  What a blessing this new job will be for you -

Carol

Nita

Carol, I imagine it was a true blessing to see the mom receive the house.  :)  I love to see people get good things.  I'm always wiping tears and smiling big when I watch Extreme Makover Home Edition.  It's so wonderful watching the joy and unbelief on the faces of the new home owners.

I'm still experiencing back pain.  This is 6 days, and usually it's subsided by now.  I'm laying down a lot,  and praying a lot. :)  I guess I might have to think of going to the doctor unless God chooses to heal me.  I can't seem to stand upright, so am shuffling around bent over and doing little.  Laying on the floor doesn't seem to help anymore.  If you think of me, I'd like to ask for your prayers.  I keep thinking "tomorrow" I'll wake up and it'll be all gone, but so far not so.

Marilyn, it seems your employment needs are being met by the Lord.  Isn't He good?  My sister, Sue, was blessed with a great job today.  She has been praying and God tested her faith for a time, and then brought it to her.  She met the lady today and said she's the sweetest thing.   This job is everything Sue told me she wanted when she first got here.  It won't be full time, but she has another small job that she does too.

I need to go lay down again, so will hush this.  Blessings,  Nita

Carol

Pat:  Thank you for devotions - I like the name "Vision-Giver".

Nita:  Sorry to hear about your back pain.  I hope that you find out it is something fixable and soon as well.  Yes, I haven't watched the house make-over show in a while - it has been such a bonanza for those families.

Heading for 95 degrees F. today with thunder showers expected.

Hi everyone.  Just back from Friday morning coffee wtih the men at the senior center.  We had about 19 men there today.  I am leaving in a few moments to go to the other Senior Center.  Several of the Learning Center Volunteers have agreed to be interviewed by a man working on his PHD in the area of seniors using computers and wanted people with different levels of expertise and experience.  It is an hour interview.  Pat is going with me as she like to visit there and work jigsaw puzzles, etc.  We will probably be there all morning as she doesn't want to be there for just an hour.  Fortunately there is a computer available so will be able to work while there.  Put a couple of projects on my memory stick to take with me.

This afternoon my friend Rod and I are going to Fry's if all works out as planned.

Janet, encouraging that they are getting Beth up with a lift (something she wouldn't have available at home) as it must feel good not to be laying in bed or just sitting in a chair.  It sounds like they are working with her.  Al, that was a good idea and perhaps Beth will be able to find some other residents of the home with whom she can become friends and have the opportunity to witness.  Is she able to go to the dining room to eat.  I remember eating several meals with my Dad in the dining room where he was staying and being aware of how silent most of the people were.  Of course some can't communicate very well but even those who could didn't seem to talk very much.

Nita, so sorry to read of your back problems that don't seem to want to pass.  It sounds like it might be time to check into that.  Glad your sister found the job she was seeking.

Marilyn, glad to read that things are going well for you on the job front and perhaps you will be able to have a little more free time.

JudyB, not good news on your tractor.  However, all farm equipment or heavy type lawn equipment is expensive these days.

It is time to leave for the Senior Center.  Hope everyone has a good day and a special hi to those I haven't recognized in my posting today.

JudyB

Pat, Good devotional. I have passed it on to the fellow I was telling you about.

Janet, I am continuing to pray for you.  You seem to be more relaxed than in the past months.  Enjoy His Peace.

Nita, There seems to be a lot of joint pain going on lately.  Know you are prayed for.

Hello Carol!  Have a good day!

Larry you sound so busy.  How did you ever find time to work?  Our dad never had an answer to that question, he was busier retired than when he was when he worked for a living!

Pat, Take care.  I will be calling you later today.

Our neighbour has loaned us their lawn mower.  It is a walk behind, but because of the problems with our tractor we have cut down the area of our lawn.   Less fuel use, so a blessing.

Well bye for now, have a good day and have a good holiday weekend!

Hi Everyone...

We just had the biggest downpour of rain and now the sun is shining.  Hail, high winds and just bucketing down.

I have to go out and get a few things into my fridge as this is a holiday weekend and I want to make sure I don't run out of milk and bread, etc.

Nita, I'm so sorry about your back.

I am ba-ack once again.  But I don't feel good.  I don't feel bad but I don't feel good.  I think I have a sinus infection...haven't had one of those for almost 20 years.  Could be an allergy...weiner roast smoke...could be anything.  I feel blah.  Going to bed as soon as I get caught up online.

Funny......When you own a boat or an RV you have two happy days...the first day you get your boat or your RV and the second day is when you sell your boat or your RV!!

Your weather sounds like what we used to experience in Oregon in early spring.  I distinctly remember a day when it rained, broke out into sunshine, then clouded up and rained, hail, and finally snow, then cleared and ended in a display of beautiful and complete sunshine.

Our God reigneth!

Etta Sue, once again I love your graphics.  I pray you'll quickly feel much better.  I think I feel better not having purchased boats or RVs! (at least I don't feel quite as lacking in funds, anyway)

Marilyn

Nita it sounds like you could use a serious trip to the Chiropractor. Don't just lay around suffering Get to the Chiropractor Woman!!

I hope this post makes it to the board. I have already been here to post and when I hit the post button I kept getting page not found, so I turned off my PC and back on again, It ran a chkdsk before it would boot back up, everything was OK.

Our Sunday Speaker is still here and will be at the church again tonight. She was supposed to fly out Wednesday but the fog stopped her, I think it was the San Francisco airport that was fogged in. When it gets fogged in the planes don't leave here.

Glad you made it some safe Etta Sue, and I hope you will feel better after some rest. Drink plenty of fluids, get some Saline spray for your nose and call me in the morning.

Carol I saw the photo of your quilt on SN, very pretty nice work.

Marilyn a chiropractor is NOT what Nita needs ... that would make matters worse if anything.  I understand your intentions, though, and appreciate your concern.

Also ... as long as I have poked my head in ... I think it would be really great for you to have the time to take a run up the coast to visit us.  You may remember it almost happened once before ... let's see if it can actually become a reality, okay?

My daughter is in Oregon for a few days and has promised she will come to see me before returning to Spokane.  She's at a conference in Eugene until Sunday and then has the rest of the week off from work.  She said she will look around and see if there's anything of interest to see while in Eugene and then head on over here.

I have been slowly (very slowly) getting things cleaned up around here.  Been working inside for a few days and then, this morning, I cut the grass and washed the outside of the windows.  Now I'm resting again!

I have to take all things in small doses.  :D

It's great seeing everyone's posts here, but I just don't have the time at the moment to comment any further.

I'll talk atcha later ....
Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass .... it's about learning to dance in the rain!

Hi Jane...  Have a great time with your daughter.  That's so nice to have time to spend with her.  Maybe you'll get some photos?

Hi Marilyn.

Etta Sue, sinus problems are so awful.  I suffer from them a lot.

Well, Just thought I'd drop in for a quick visit.  Have a busy weekend ahead of me.

Luv y'all

We are home again from Texas!  Praise God, Darrel got a good report, has to go back in six months, so he set up an appointment for me to have a treadmill stress test at that time, too.  I've never had one, don't feel I need one, but it can't hurt.  Right? :)

Diane heard from our honeymooners, they are having a wonderful time, as we knew they would.  They get back to Amarillo on Sunday.

Nita, I will sure pray about your back.  Not nice having to walk all bent over, and hurting.  :(  I do go to a chiropractor, but realize they are not for everyone.  You know best what you need to do.

Marilyn, good you found another job.  There are many people who need care, shouldn't be too hard to find that kind of work.

Larry, I have eaten a few times at the care home with Beth and Mom, and it is pretty quiet there, too.  But several at their table do talk, so that helps.  There is a new resident there now only a few years older than Beth, a vibrant Christian lady who was disabled by a stroke a few years ago.  I'm anxious for Beth to meet her.  She (Beth) is hanging out a lot with a gal just a couple doors down the hall, who worked there at the same time Beth did, when Beth was just out of (or was she still in?) high school.  They go out into the patio and pet the rabbit and feed the turtles, and sometimes pool their money and order food sent in.  Beth can go anywhere she wants there, in her power chair.  Her equalibrium (sp?) isn't very good, after not standing up for such a long time, so she has work to do!

Carol, It's always good to read your posts!

Etta Sue, a sinus infection is no fun.  :(  Hope it disappears quickly!

Jane, so happy your daughter is coming to visit.  Have a good one!

I want to watch Praise the Lord! and it is coming on after these commercials.  See you all later!
