Don: Hey Judy, It's been a long time. Hope you are doing well. 2024-12-02, 22:41:41

JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Oldiesmann: So sorry for your loss Carol. Praying for you and your family :( 2022-05-01, 17:13:05

Morning Devotional...

Don't Waste Time Wondering

"Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is."
(Ephesians 5:17)

Sometimes, believers wring their hands and worry about whether or not they're praying according to God's will. "Oh, dear me," they say, "I certainly can't expect God to do something for me that's outside His will." And they're absolutely right.

But they don't need to waste time standing around looking puzzled. They need to grab their Bibles and find out what the will of God is.

God has made some very specific promises in His Word and it's His will to fulfill every one of them in your life. In fact, those promises are divinely guaranteed by a contract that's been signed in the blood of Jesus.

Think of it this way. Your Bible is the last will and testament of Jesus Christ. It is a record of your inheritance. Everything that belongs to you has been written down in that book and the smartest thing you can do is to find out what is in it. Don't leave it lying on the coffee table and hit the floor crying, "Oh, God! Oh, God! I'm searching for the truth."

Pick up your Bible from the coffee table and find out what belongs to you! Find out how you need to change to get in line with God's will.

Some people don't do that. They try to change God instead. They'll go on and on trying to convince God just how badly they hurt or how poor they are. They'll beg and plead and wheedle, all the while acting as though they had to somehow change God's mind about the situation. Those folks are in for a long wait.

God is never going to change. The Bible says He's the same yesterday, today, and forever. His will is too. So don't waste your time wondering if your prayers are in line with it. Get the Book and base your prayers on it. Then you can rest assured the answer is on the way!

Hello all.  Today (Tuesday) is the memorial service for my friend (and brother to my sister's boyfriend) Erik.  He died from brain cancer.  Please remember him and his family in prayer.  He was a missionary for Campus Crusade for Christ, and his website www.erikandkelly.ministryhome.org really gives some insight into what he did for Christ, and the effect he had on people. One quick story.  Early in his ministry, he was serving in Turkey.  There, he met and befriend a Turk who spoke no English.  Erik spoke no Turkish.  Yet, through the Holy Spirit, the man prayed to accept Christ and truly gave his heart to Him.  Isn't God amazing?

zIt is 1:00am and I am just home from North Bay.  I hit a pothole and somehow banged up my hand.  As the evening at small group wore on my hand became swollen and I was unable to move the finges.  Bonnie took me to hospital for an X-ray and the Dr said it was showing the swelling, but he couldn't be sure there wasn't a hairline crack.  The radiologist will have a better look when he gets in tomorrow.

At small group we had an awesome time.  Pastor  Jimmy was there and I do so love listening to him.  What a treat to sit and learn from him.

Elizabeth had a drill test tonight.  she doesn't think she did very well.  isn't that the way with tests?  Always second guessing ourselves.  Melaura is such an encourager of her sisters, I am sure she will work with Elby to perfect the drill for the next test.

Keep John in your prayers, he has the stomach flu and was on the road when it started.  I hate to be home when he is sick like that.  Well God is with him and I just pray he gers over this quick.  God has been good, answering prayer in so many little ways.

I am tired so night for Monday and good morning for tuesday.

Anthony

Good morning everyone.  I am sorry that I missed posting yesterday, but I did read everyone's message.  It was great to hear Marilyn, that your family in Christ are helping you out during this month.  A great testimony of God's love within your church.

Karma, I was very moved by the story of your friend.  It is sad that he has left a wife and child behind, but wonderful to hear of his love for his Lord.  God bless all of those people who may be grieving his loss (especially today).

I haven't got a great amount on the schedule for today.  I am still waiting for an appointment for my mother to go into hospital.  Our local  hospital is going through a crisis at the moment, with hundreds of nurses being laid off for some reason.  I hope that they get their act together soon.

Have a great day everyone, and I will see you later on.

Anthony.

Karma ~ I see that Erik's services is in Indy.  I know where 96th Street is but more familiar with East 96th Street.  Tony lives on East 96th Street.  So sad to have a family without their father.  Thank God for memories.  They look like such a loving family.

Somewhere my settings to have IE as my default browser is gone and when I click on a clickable in email, Firefox loads up.  I thought I had it changed again but I must not know what I am doing again.  Any ideas?

Well, today is a so-so day.  I need to go to the bank and then to the grocery to get some milk.  I know I won't leave with just milk...I never do. Then I plan to finish my Amish fiction book.  It is soooo good.

Etta Sue get the Internet Options window on your screen, by going to the start menu and clicking on Contol Panel , then on Internet Options. When that window opens you can change it back to IE and make IE your default browser by clicking on Use Current.  I hope that is the right way to do it.

Well, it looks like we'll be taking a trip up to Olympia, Washington next Tuesday through Friday.  It's about 500 miles one way, and our son Joel is coming down to drive us up and back!  We'll be seeing our oldest grandaughter graduate from highschool on the 15th (straight A grades all the way through, plays 4 musical instruments like a pro).  We're praying for a blessed trip.

Pat

Ohhh, Karma...

I've just been on Erik's site reading all of the entries and have tears flowing.  So sad but wonderful he's in the presence of his Saviour.

Those dear little children.   :'(

Anthony

It's 5.00pm here and just before dishing up the dinner I thought I would pop back to read the messages.  It has been quite warm here today, but just stayed in the house praying over some issues.

Etta Sue, I've become pretty thick with computers lately, so I had better not try to give instruction, but I do hope that you get your machine sorted out - it's like trying to do without our cars isn't it?

Marilyn, it sounds like you know what you are doing.  Well done for instructing Etta.

Al, I'm so happy to read that your granddaughter has done so well at High School and I do pray that your trip will go well. (500 miles :o)

Pat, it is very sad to read about this young family isn't it?  The comfort is that Christians "do not mourn as those who have no hope."  But we still mourn of course.

Well, it smells like  the chicken maybe getting a bit dark brown in colour, so I  had better attend to the dinner.  God bless and see y'all later.

Anthony.

Janet:  Not much sleep for me last night as I struggled with the very subject in your devotions.  I just have to accept things as they are and it still makes me sad.

karmat:  So sorry about the story of the young family man you knew.  Prayers for his entire family.  His story is amazing.

Judy:  I hope by today that both you and John are feeling better and really hope that your finger isn't broken.

Al: I just know that you will have a wonderful time and especially visiting in the car with your son.

Anthony:  Your dinner didn't burn, I hope.

Well here I am back home just waiting for the time to take Bebe to the vet.

Etta sue did that work for you.  Looking forward to seeing your new Welcome sign.

Hi Anthony. Hope you got your issues solved in your prayers.

Carol: sometimes it is so hard for me to think that God wouldn't find my requests trivial compared to the  requests of others. It has taken a lng time for me to put all my trust in Him for ALL my needs. Jane is a great inspiration to me, in learning to trust.

It is windy here today, overcast and kind of muggy especially in the car.

Hello all!  Thanks for all your words and prayers for Erik's family.  He is the fourth young man from Tuscola High School Classes of 89 and 90 to pass away in the past 3 years.  I knew all four well. :(  I know death comes to everyone, that is one statistic that doesn't lie, but it is weird being only 35 and reading your friends' obituaries.  <shudder>

Thankfully, for at least three of them, they professed Jesus.  This life really is short.

Thanks for letting me ramble.  Must get back to work now.

Pat

Ramble all you like Karma.  It's got to be a horrible thing to read these but yes, wonderful that they professed Jesus as Lord.

Carol thanks John is not doing well at all.  He is due home tomorrow.  Then I can make him soup and the things he enjoys.  My hand is somewhat better.  Still painful to move but if it is still not too bad.

Karma it is rough to see friends pass away.  Like you say it does happen but that knowledge doesn't take the bite out of it.

It has been a hot day.  I got the two younger gitls into their swim suits and we got the garden planted.  We are about a week late, but better late than never.  Kassie and Elizabeth did the work, and I told them what to do.  Not the job of an adult, but for their first time I am impressed.  I will pick ujp some tomatoe plants when I pick up John.  and I will be done.  He is expecting to have to do it when he gets home.  LOL surprise surprise!

Al Looks like that will be a trip of celebration!  Give your grand children ouor love will you?

Etta Sue I have sent you an email that you will enjoy.  If you know how to do the movement thingy you are incredibly gifted!

Well Melaura has dinner ready so I am off till tomorrow.

Well, we voted!  Of course we made all the correct choices.  Of course none of them will win.

Thank you Marilyn for your encouragement....

Al:  Voting does get discouraging at times.

JudyB:  John need chicken noodle soup - wish I could give him some of my stash in the freezer.  I make all kinds of soups and freeze them - they really taste good when things are not right.

We got home this afternoon.  We had a great trip but it is so far up there and back.  We drove for 11 hours yesterday so todays trip was only 7 hours.  We were really glad to drive into the garage and I am now ready to turn in for the night as am very tired.

I have read all the messages but will not try to comment on any individually as just don't have the energy today.

Pat

I'm closing a few minutes early but I must do a few more things before retiring for the night.
