Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

This is one of my favorite hymns.  I love the words of it.  Even if I don't have the music to sing by, I just like to read the words.

In November, 1850, thirty year old Fanny Crosby had been attending numerous revival meeting and had answered the altar call, hoping to find peace for her soul.

But on the 20th of the month, the audience began to sing "Alas! and Did My Savior Bleed," a hymn written by Isaac Watts in 1707. It was when they sang the words, "Here, Lord I give myself away - 'tis all that I can do," that Fanny realized that all she needed was to yield herself. She said: "I surrendered myself to the Saviour, and my very soul flooded with celestial light. I sprang to my feet, shouting 'Hallelujah.'"

Isaac Watts said of his hymn writing, "I have made no pretence to be a poet. But to the Lamb that was slain, and now lives, I have addressed many a song, to be sung by the penitent and believing heart.

Alas! and did my Saviour bleed[/b]

Alas! and did my Saviour bleed,
and did my Sovereign die?
Would He devote that sacred head
for such a worm as I?

Was it for crimes that I had done
He groaned upon the tree?
Amazing pity! grace unknown!
and love beyond degree!

Well might the sun in darkness hide,
and shut His glories in,
When Christ, the Mighty maker, died
for man, the creature's sins.

Thy body slain, sweet Jesus, Thine -
and bathed in its own blood -
While the firm mark of Wrath Divine
His soul in anguish stood.

Thus might I hide my blushing face
while his dear Cross appears;
Dissolved my heart in thankfulness,
and melt mine eyes to tears.

But drops of grief can ne'er repay
the debt of love I woe;
Here, Lord, I give myself away-
'til all that I can do.

Ursula, do you have web space?

If you are a paying member of PBase, you can link from there or probably your ISP (Internet Service Provider) gives you space.  If you are with Rogers.com, you get 10 mg for each email address.

When you have webspace that allows linking, then we have at the top of the Photography area, How To Post Your Photos[/b].

If you still can't figure it out, just send the photos to me as an email attachment and I'll help.  WE WANT TO SEE THEM!!

Carol, I also wish we all could get together for a cup of coffee but I doubt that will ever happen with us living all over the world.

I start the treatments on Thrusday, after seeing the cardiologist on Wednesday.  I guess the only way to evaluate their effectiveness is more energy and a sense of feeling better.

How nice to see so many of our family (CP) posting today!  Great!

I've had a really busy day.  Beth and John came and we went to breakfast this morning.  They seem to be getting along great, and seem very comfortable with each other.  Then I went to town to help a friend price stuff for a garage sale.  There is a city-wide one this weekend, and I had promised her my help.  I helped her for six hours, then came home, and we pulled the fifth wheel trailer out of the garage, then I gave it a thorough cleaning.  Now I am eating supper!

No, Pat, I haven't taken any of "those" photos yet!  But I will! ;) :) :D

We surely have some lovely photos that were posted recently!  WOW!

Good evening everyone.  Thanks to all who asked or inquired about my headache.  Yes, I do get them once or twice a month, and yes, it is a pain in more than one way. They do seem to be a migraine of sorts, but this one didn't hurt as bad as normal.  I get incredibly hungry while i have them, oddly enough, and while I am eating it doesn't hurt.  ???  So, after 3 bags of chips at work (ummm, salt), I realized the drink machine was completely empty.  One of hte women that works in teh same building went home to get somethng adn brought me some water back, bless her heart.  My headache was about 95% gone by 4:00.  As Jerry would say, "More than you want to know."  8)

Anyway.  I'll will be in and out, don't know how much I will post, as I seem to have a bucket full of stuff ot do tonight.

I MISS MIEKA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Does anyone know when she will be back?

Pat,

I love the hymn you posted!  I used to love playing it on the organ (when I played, way back when in Wyoming) because the melody just flowed so easy, and it was so much fun to sing along.

I will check into the webspace thing.  My ISP is magma, which is local to Ottawa, I believe.

Earlier, I told you I posted some lovely photos of the Isle of Lewis for our Iain.

Well, now we go thousands of miles to the west from this little island in the Atlantic to the west coast of the United States and see photos of the Pacific Coast of Oregon from Al Moak!

Full day at work today and how very long it seemed! :-\  At least that's one down and only 3 1/2 to go. :o

It alternated between heavy dark clouds with a chilly wind and bright warm sunshine all day today.  I think it got up to around 72 this afternoon.  Getting better.  ;)

My, you are a chatty bunch!  I seldom take notes, but, I do want to say how I agree with Larry and others who wrote how rude it is for Marilyn's landlord to enter her home without permission.

Can you not prevent him from doing that Marilyn?  That would be illegal here.

Janet - wouldn't it be nice if John turns out to be "the one" for Beth!  Did you get "good vibes" when you met him?..LOL

Its sure been cool and damp here today...more like November weather.  This is JUNE is it not?

Message moved to New Every Morning and posted by JOAN in another area...

Pat I enjoyed the devotional by Jack.  He certainly had boldness teaching others about the Lord!  Also enjoyed the sunrise pictures that Iain arose so early to catch on film.

We had such a busy hard day at the hospital.  Our patient load is so great with no expansion of space any time soon.  So many of our patients complain of the long wait and I can't blame them - I would be unhappy about that too.

Our 6 guests are to arrive tomorrow at noon.  We plan to picnic at the lake in the afternoon (since I found someone willing to work for me, I took the day off).  On Saturday, our youngest daughter plans to wed in Gatlinburg and wants us to be there.  Then, Tuesday week, my granddaughter and I  leave for Rome.  Stress?  Yeah!  :o

Oh, what a busy place this is today.  I'm almost afraid to begin trying to comment on all your posts, for I would surely forget to mention some.  My bad habit of just reading through quickly and not taking notes, is my downfall here.  Just know that I enjoyed your sharing your day with all the rest of us.
And I especially liked the devotional, Pat.  Your dear husband had so much to give, and his work is still blessing people today.  May his words continue to win souls to the Lord until His return!

I had a bunch of reading to do, too, not just today's.  Had gotten behind again and tried to read up to date.  I went to photographs and had fun seeing a neat toad and friend!

I will try to get back on again tonight late.  My usual time to show up here.

If I don't make it.....G'Night folks!  Have a happy tomorrow.
Love,   Janice
This is the day the Lord has made, we will rejoice and be glad in it.   Ps 118:24
