JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Oldiesmann: So sorry for your loss Carol. Praying for you and your family :( 2022-05-01, 17:13:05

Here's a song I just heard on the TV.  It was on last evening as well and I was going to post it but forgot.  Got caught up with some other things.

On Eagles Wings
(Click to hear music)

"Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength.  They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint." Isaiah 40:30-31 (Also based on Psalm 91)

Words & Music: by Michael Joncas

You who dwell in the shelter of the Lord
Who abide in his shadow for life
Say to the Lord: "My refuge
My Rock in whom I trust!"

Refrain):

And He will raise you up on eagle's wings
Bear you on the breath of dawn
Make you to shine like the sun
And hold you in the palm of His hand

You need not fear the terror of the night
Nor the arrow that flies by day
Under His wings your refuge
His faithfulness your shield

For to His angels He's given a command
To guard you in all of your ways
Upon their hands they will bear you up
Lest you dash your foot against a stone

Refrain

And He will raise you up on eagle's wings
Bear you on the breath of dawn
Make you to shine like the sun
And hold you
Hold you in the palm of His hand

Papa John, It is nice to see that you have made it home safely!

Ria, yes, weight control is a very big problem for me.  I need to loose many pounds for my health also.  I like food and it is really difficult to cut back to loose weight.

Janet, When you sign in, if you scroll down to the bottom of the page to sign in instead of the icon at the top of the page, you have various session lengths to choose from.  I have mine set to "forever" and then just remember to logout each time I leave CP.

And now, dinner is almost ready, so will say goodbye for now!

Pat

Jane, I was thinking not too long ago about how Rebecca whistled before she started to talk and then there was quite a time when there was no whistling but now she's back at it again.

I was thinking about your driving...  I had this similar problem as well with my severely dislocated shoulder and I just couldn't change gears.  So I had to depend on others to do it for me and my grandchildren were fantastic at it.  One day my two granddaughters and I packed up a nice day's lunches and head off for Niagara Falls where we stayed till after dark.

We drove along the Queen Elizabeth Way and down the Niagara Parkway all with my arm in a sling and them changing gears!  HAHAHAHA!

Hope you don't have too much discomfort for too long, sweetie. :-* :-* :-*

Hello folks!

What a great day here.  3 pages already and it is a Sunday.  woohooo...

I just got back from a friends house.  He is letting me borrow one of his big lenses.  I am so excited to use it.

I still have a bad cough so didn't make it to church or Sunday school.  :'(  I will probably go in this week if I don't feel better.  I have never had a cold this long.  Going on 3 weeks.  :-[

I better go, the family wants to watch movies.

Al Moak

Wow, Soni, I can sure relate!  I'm going into my third week with this cold/viral pneumonia thing I've got.  It's getting better, but once in a while there's still an awful cough.  I'm going to try again tonight to sleep in bed - been in the lay-back chair for two weeks, and getting tired of it!  May God fully heal you!  And, by the way, me too.

Ed

On the subject of whistling..go to www.wannalearn.com click on whistling and go from there.  Don't practice in church though.

A beautiful day today - at least the first half.  Sunny and warm, just at 58 when I left for church and close to 70 by the time I got home.

I think I might have to strangle Gene.   :o  He decided yesterday to clean up the planter boxes on the front lawn.  There are tulips, daffodils, grape hyacinths and irises growing there.  Rather than rake out the dead stuff left over the winter, he decided to burn it off, promising me it wouldn't matter to the new shoots.  Wrong!  This afternoon the tips of all the lovely, delicate new shoots were dying back.  :'(  Maybe the rain we got this afternoon (along with thunder and lightning) will help to revive them and all will be well.  But I made him promise next year to limit his burning to the dead grass on the lawn.  Of course if he waits too long for that he'll kill off my bleeding heart bushes.   :(

AHHHH, Jeanne.  Ok........just strangle Gene a little bit. :)  I can just imagine how you felt seeing the shoots all dead or dying.  How did Gene feel?  He DID feel bad.....right? haha

Sitting here looking out at the rain.  It's been off and on today.

Jane.....I was wondering if you'd drive to church today.  Please don't overdo. ok?  I'll call you later.

Thank you Pat for "On Eagles Wings"  I have heard someone sing it or we sing it at church.   Wonderful song.

Tonight at church there were around 10 different Urban Ministries and their booths in the gym.   It is wonderful all the help in the city for the homeless, the downcast, prostitute, drug addict, even pregnancy crisis ministry. This is the kick off to our World Missionary Conference.  After the service we go into the gym and gorge ourselves on ice cream sundaes.  I had a few mouthfuls to help out someone else eat theirs.  Too much for her.

Sonja I like your new picture.  Very flattering.   Hope you get over your cold soon.  Eat lots of chicken soup with garlic, onion, ginger and turmuric in it.  That will knock it out of you for sure.

Well I have to see if the LEAFS ARE WINNING.

Love Ruthie

Papa John

Yes, it is good to be home.  I thought of E.T. who longed for H O M E.  Florida is nice to visit.  But "there's no place like home."  I'm sure you are all familiar with the song with the line, "This world is not my home.  I'm just a passing through."

It is true that this world is not our home.  We have our citizenship in heaven.   Peter said, "Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul;"  1 Pet 2:11  We ARE strangers and pilgrims here.

2 Cor 5:1 For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.  (KJV)

I hope you all have a nice rest this night.

Yes Papa John my dear Father used to say how wonderful it was to come home all the time.   He is now in his heavenly home.   Praise God.

Well the Leafs have gone into the first overtime.   Amazing game.   The score is 1 for Leafs and 1 for Senators in 4 periods.    Those poor hockey players are very tired.   Have to go back and watch.

Well the Senators got the winning goal and now there will be one more game in Toronto.

Good night everyone.   Have a wonderful day tomorrow.
God Bless

Drat!  Ottawa won and I was cheering for Toronto.  So both east & west go into games 7.  This is hard on the nerves...

Planned on a quiet day of reading and it didn't happen.  The kids decided to take advantage of a warm day and clean out the garage.  Boy, did it need it.  The Contractor made such a mess as he did all of his sawing in there and one mess led to another.  So I made everyone both lunch and dinner...REally got the best of the bargain tho'.  We watched the hockey game while having dinner and I was the only one cheering for Toronto.

You asked where I live Ruth.  The answer is on Vancouver Island in the Cowichan Valley.  I am 40 min. from Victoria and 25 min. from Duncan.  Live in a beautiful subdivision and surrounded by small farms with sheep, cattle, lamas....Nice.  On the island we can be in the city one minute and the country the next.  It is like a constantly changing painting.

Have a nice evening all and God Bless.  Liz
