Morning Devotional...

He (Moses) took the book of the covenant, and read in the audience of the people: and they said, All that the LORD hath said will we do and be obedient.
Exodus 24:7

The people were entering into a covenant with the Lord. God promised to be their God and they promised to be His faithful people.

Moses sprinkled them with blood and said, "This is the blood of the covenant."

When people today receive Christ, they too enter into a covenant relationship with God. Jesus said, "This is My blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins" (Matt. 26:28).

Our response should be, "All that the Lord has said we will do and be obedient."

Is that our attitude?

May the mind of Christ, my Saviour,
Live in me from day to day,
By His love and pow'r controlling
All I do and say.

May the Word of God dwell richly
In my heart from hour to hour,
So that all may see I triumph
Only through His pow'r.

May the peace of God, my Father,
Rule my life in ev'rything,
That I may be calm to comfort
Sick and sorrowing.

May the love of Jesus fill me,
As the waters fill the sea;
Him exalting, self abasing,
This is victory.

May I run the race before me,
Strong and brave to face the foe,
Looking only unto Jesus
As I onward go.

May His beauty rest upon me
As I seek the lost to win,
And may they forget the channel,
Seeing only Him.

Thanks, Pat ... As Judy said, and others have questioned, it's hard to imagine you as grumpy!  I'm glad you say you're better now.   ;)

I have already been to church and enjoyed the worship and message ... Saturday evenings are good for going to church.     Now I can have church on TV tomorrow (Sunday) and have a full weekend of "church."

Prayer: Don't Let Me Live Wrong

I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept
the faith. Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of
righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me
on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His
appearing.
--2 Timothy 4:7-8

For years I have made a practice of writing many of my earnest
prayers to God in a little book--a book now well worn. I still turn
often to the petitions I recorded in that book. I remind God often
of what my prayers have been.
One prayer in the book--and God knows it well by this time, for I
pray it often--goes like this:
Oh God, Let me die rather than to go on day by day living wrong. I
do not want to become a careless, fleshly old man. I want to be
right so that I can die right. Lord, I do not want my life to be
extended if it would mean that I should cease to live right and
fail in my mission to glorify You all of my days!...
As you will recall from Second Kings 20, the Lord gave Hezekiah a
15-year extension of life. Restored to health and vigor, Hezekiah
disgraced himself and dishonored God before he died and was
buried.
I would not want an extra 15 years in which to backslide and
dishonor my Lord. I would rather go home right now than to live
on--if living on was to be a waste of God's time and my own!

God bless everyone! I pray that this Lord's Day finds you well and alive with passion for our Savior!
I'm just popping in to remind everyone of a couple of things...

Don't forget to visit our wonderful gallery, bircher has been busy as well as many of our other members. The shots are awesome! ;)

If you have not yet voted in the caption contest, don't forget to. That Seagull is just standing there waiting to know what Y'all want him to say. :o

Remember, you still have until May 6th to get your best "Blue" shot in. This is turning out to be really neat

Larry Hanna

Hi everyone.  I took the time this morning to visit the Koinonia Gallery and the Mini Challenge.  Both are full of awesome photos.  Sorry I don't have much offer in the way of photography but it just isn't my thing.  However, I enjoy the beautiful photos that our many talented photographers post on the CP site.

I woke up about 5:15 this morning feeling like I might be coming down with the flu.  Fortunately I am feeling better now but not at all perky.  Fortunately this isn't a day when our choir is singing so my not being there won't be a problem to the choir.  I have committed to attend the computer seminar that is occurring at 12:30 at the church and will try to keep my commitment if I feel up to it at the time.

I can't image you, Pat, as being grumpy either and I bet only Geordie and your cat saw it.  :)  Glad you are feeling better.

That is a wonderful devotional this morning.  So often man doesn't keep his covenent with God but God never fails.

It is going to be a cool day here and not get above 62 degrees.  Our house seems  cool.  I may have to get out the electric heater to warm up my office to a comfortable level.

Hope you all have a wonderful day.

Al Moak

Thank you for that hymn, Pat.  Many years ago, when I attended San Jose State College, we had an Intervarsity Christian Fellowship group there, and of course we used the Intervarsity Hymnal.  That hymn was the last hymn in the book - and well beloved by many.

Pat - thank you also for the links to other folders in this forum - that's an excellent idea, and I hope those links will be much used.

Good Morning Great devotional today Pat.

I am walking to church again today and this evening.  The sun isn't out yet but I am hopeful that it will be  by the time I get out of church.

Good to see you here this morning Al, I hope you will be posting more often than you have in the past.

Hi to Larry, Chris,  Margit, Ritz, Jane, and all  the others who will come in later.

Janet is due back today isn't she? It will be good to hear all about her Walk to Emmaus.

Got to finish getting dressed.

Pat:  Thanks for the devotional and hymn today.

Chris & Margit; I enjoyed reading your words of wisdom as well.

Marilyn:  Did you purchase your PSP or is it a downloadable.  I am always a little nervous about trying something new.

Judy:  Do you have a waffle maker?  Bring some of the waffles along with  ice cream to my house  lots of calories but oh so good.

To day I am feeling happy but a little sorry for myself as well.   The sorry for myself I went perch fishing all day yesterday and came home with a sore red face which is still burning.  Mel & myself did have a good time though.  Dinner for a couple of days will be perch - can I expect compay anyone?

Spring is here a wonderful sunny day today.

In the coming week...

...You will probably see our membership number go way down from over 400 to vastly lower.

I am going to go through our data base and start deleting members' accounts that have not been on the site for over one year--to start with.  I will delete their gallery albums as well.

So don't be alarmed if you see that number going down lower and lower.   :)

Our data base is very high and I have to weigh the pro's and con's of paying for webhosting to store people's files and then they don't visit the site.

So, that's what will be happening in the coming days.

Sure happy to read that Pat is no longer grumpy and Geordie is being Geordie again!

Ritz ~ Do you still have your bike?

A long, busy, hectic morning at the Duplicating Kiosk at Park Chapel Christian Church today.  About the time I would get one CD copied, a request for another one would come.  Probably copied 20 CD's today.  In fact, I would have copied three more but ran out of CD's!!!!!

Then it was off to Arby's for lunch, WalMart for some groceries and to the gas station to deposit my life savings for a few gallons of gas.   :clobber:  I sure wish the gas prices would come down...no reason for it to be so high!!!  MHO!

It has been raining all day here.  When I left for church it was 62° F so I didn't wear a jacket...thinking it would get warmer.  Well, it didn't.  Getting in and out of the car this afternoon was wet and cold!

Everyone have a God-blessed Day!

Ruth I have been carbing out too often lately.  So no waffles and icecream for me.  I received a waffle iron many years ago and never used it.  I think I tossed it.  I am looking for it now though.

We had an unusual service.  We had a singing group called Double Portion at church and the wole service was made up of them singing.  I must say it was a wonderful concert, but it was more a service for a Friday night or Saturday night.  There was no preaching, and I have to say I missed that.  I love the time of worship, but need to hear the Word as well.  I love the devotionals here, because they are the Word.

The weather is wonderful and has been all day. Pat you have more nice weather coming.  I bought Mother a new outfit.  Caprie pants, a t and a hat.  She looked lovely, and suited the weather so well.  It was Elizabeth's birthday dinner, and she had a big piece of Cake.  Swiss Chalet has a piece of Chocolate cake that when stood on end, it looks like a mountain, add a layer of powdered sugar and voila it is a swiss alpine mountain.  She ate the whole thing.  I couldn't believe it.

I am vegging out for a while perhaps for the night we will see.

God bless you all and I am praying for all of you.

Papa John

I guess I had better check in here.  I have been in every day but just didn't write anything.

We have had a good day today.  Cornelia, Marthan, and I went to church where the singing was wonderful and the sermon was excellent.  I thanked God for being so good to us and giving us so many wonderful blessings.

Cornelia continues to improve.  She is going without oxygen two hours now two or three times during the day.  She is also walking around the house without the walker.  She looks and feels good.   She goes back to see our doctor again this week.

I Jn 4:16-21
16   And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in him.
17   In this way, love is made complete among us so that we will have confidence on the day of judgment, because in this world we are like him.
18   There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.
19   We love because he first loved us.
20   If anyone says, "I love God," yet hates his brother, he is a liar. For anyone who does not love his brother, whom he has seen, cannot love God, whom he has not seen.
21   And he has given us this command: Whoever loves God must also love his brother.  (NIV)

Papa John

Eph 2:8-9  For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-- and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God-- not by works, so that no one can boast.(NIV)

Papa John, it's so good to know that Cornelia is steadily improving.  Thanks for letting us know.

We had a wonderful service this morning.

On the last Sunday of every month the greeting and collection are done by children from the Sunday School.  So sweet to see them.

Next on the agenda:   Four grandchildren of one of our members were baptized and the pastor wove his message around that.

Then two members of our congregation who have a mission in Malawai reported on the conditions there and the progress that's being made.

And to top it all off, four young men who make up a barbershop quartet called "4 to 1" sang beautifully at the offertory and then at the postlude.

All in all a great day.   :thumbsup2:

Thank you Pat I have had a great day with the Lord. I've just returned from prayer meeting and ate my Enchiladas that I prepared yesterday and had last night , for lunch today and for my supper. I made them with ground turkey meat.

I have just inherited a new job at church being an usher for the offering. We rearranged the chairs in the sanctuary there were three rows and now there are two rows another person was needed to the walkway way between the chairs and the wall.

Well I need to go wash my dishes.
