Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Morning Devotional...

He hath made His wonderful works to be remembered: the LORD is gracious and full of compassion. He sent redemption unto His people: He hath commanded His covenant for ever: holy and reverend is His name.
Psalm 111:4, 9

God delights when His wonderful works are remembered.

There are so many, but what can be greater than the work accomplished at Calvary? As we meet week by week to remember Him, let us remind each other of the centrepiece of His wonderful works--Calvary.

It, and all the works of our Lord, will stand fast forever and ever and are done in truth and uprightness.
--Margaret Peters

Sweet the moments which, in blessing,
musing o'er the cross we spend;
Life and health and peace possessing
from the sinners' dying Friend.

Good Sunday morning to all of you!

Marilyn, I wish I had my church clothes laid out---but will have to go stand in my closet and mull it over.  :)

I forgot a very important thing I was to do last evening.  :-[  And it was on my calendar, too.  Hate it when I do stuff like that.  >:(  But this ol' world will keep on turning........

Thanks to those who have looked at the China photos.  It is difficult to choose only a few to post, when I took so many!!  I am trying to do the ones I think may be of interest to you, and to give you a wide overview.  Let me know how I'm doing.  Thanks.

Abby woke up hungry, so I made breakfast first thing.  Now she is lying here on the couch groaning because "You gave me too much fruit!"  We have some Dragon Fruit from China and some canteloupe.  :)

I am off to post a few more photos!

Hi everyone on this fine Sunday monring.  I have to admit I slept in this morning and Pat is still dozing.  She was really tired when she got home yesterday but she did have a marvelous time, even if all the walking made her feet really hurt.  She said she would get up the next morning ready to do it all over again.  She said there were over 9,000 attending the quilting convention and many, many exhibitors of quilts and also vendors.  Quilting has become a multi-billion dollar business.

I am looking forward to going to church this morning and singing in the choir.  As usual I expect we will go out to eat with friends.  I think we have set a new record for eating out this month.

Janet, did you bring that fruit all the way back from China or just find it in a your market?  Glad Abby is able to be with you this weekend.

Pat, your wonderful devotional this morning reminds me that even when churches experience internal turmoil, as seems to be pervading our denomination now and in the last 10 years or so, we need to keep our eye and heart firmly locked in the Scripture and on God's plan of salvation through Christ.  God hasn't created the controversy rather man has trying to get his/her own selfish way.

Marilyn, it sounds like those dogs are assuring you get some walking in each day.  I am sure you enjoy the time out with them and being outside.

Ruth, thanks for reminding me to print out Jack's writings today. I started yesterday but wasn't getting just what I wanted to print and then didn't get back to it.

Ruth Ann, there is a lot of joy in spending time with friends and just visiting.  I find I enjoy this more and more as I get older.  Everyone has something interesting to say.  Someone once asked me what we find to talk about at the cafe each morning.  I said it is always fresh and new since most of us don't remember what we said yesterday, must less last month or last year.  Often it is the sharing and not the actual words that is the important part.

Etta Sue, thanks for the info on how you made that composite photo.

Till later.

Janet

Shhhh, Larry-- :-[---Darrel brought the Dragon Fruit home in his suitcase!

I got a few mor photos posted, nolw must be about getting ready for church.

So many new photos to view, I enjoyed each one that I was able to see.

Larry, I'd love a handmade quilt.  There are Mennonite places near us that sell them.  Some day, I'm going to do just that, when I save enough $$$. No use getting one unless you are prepared to spend big bucks.  I don't want a machine made quilt.

Hi Etta Sue....How are "the girls"?

I think I am getting used to not having to get up so early or leave so early for church.  And between services I am realizing that I can walk up to someone and start talking instead of them having to come to me.  I think I like this not having to do all the duplicating.  I told a lady that I was on the watchout of something to do to help the church and she said, 'Why don't you try resting for awhile?'  Hmmm!

I went to eat in a Mexican restaurant and just as I was getting ready to leave, the biggest downpour I have seen for awhile was coming down outside.  I waited under the overhang until it slowed down to make a mad dash to the car.  Then I went to Wal~Mart and walked in a sprinkle with my umbrella.  A few drops were coming down when I came out.  But by the time I got home....dry as a bone here!!  It looks like rain though so a great day to curl up with a book.

SIN NO MORE SIN NO MORE SIN NO MORE SIN NO MORE

We had the youth leader, he is not a pastor, rather an intern, preach today.  He spoke about being comfortable in our life and faith.  He sais that we need to go outside the box, out of our comfort zones as christians so that we are not complacent.  Very good message.

It is a lovely day here today, comfortable, not too hot yet not jacket weather yet.

Have not read all the previous days of posting, I will do that later.

Have a good day everyone and have a God day.

Good Afternoon:
It has been one of those lazy feeling days. more  cloud than sun although the sun is shinning now.  Mel made a loaf of bread in the bread machine so fresh bread, corn on the cob and left over meat will be our dinner menu this evening.

Judy B: It is good that you are able to attend church and receive a good message. At the church we attended for years it is a very sad situation the long time members are leaving and even the new ones arriving are going just as fast so I have been told.

I think you will enjoy this one:

One day, the father of a very wealthy family took his son on a trip to the country with the express purpose of showing him how poor people live.

They spent a couple of days and nights on the farm of what would be considered a very poor family.

On their return from their trip, the father asked his son, "How was the trip?"
"It was great, Dad."

"Did you see how poor people live?" the father asked.
"Oh yeah," said the son.

"So, tell me, what did you learn from the trip?" asked the father.
The son answered: "I saw that we have one dog and they had four.
We have a pool that reaches to the middle of our garden and they have a creek that has no end.

We have imported lanterns in our garden and they have the stars at night.
Our patio reaches to the front yard and they have the whole horizon.
We have a small piece of land to live on and they have fields that go beyond our sight.
We have servants who serve us, but they serve others.
We buy our food, but they grow theirs.
We have walls around our property to protect us, they have friends to protect them."
The boy's father was speechless.
Then his son added,? "Thanks Dad for showing me how poor we are."
Isn't perspective a wonderful thing? Makes you wonder what would happen if we all gave thanks for everything we have, instead of worrying about what we don't have.
Appreciate every single thing you have, especially your friends!

Marilyn

Good Evening:

I went back to bed after church today only getting up once to  get something to  eat, I finally got up at 5PM. I was so worn out from my busy week and didn't sleep well last night.

We had a speaker at church today www.ericbarger.com He spoke about the Davinci code and the even his is speaking on Islam. I didn't go to prayer meeting and evening service tonight. I am resting as I have to go take Ruth to Eureka tomorrow to the Foot doctor

That was good, Larry.

We had a rather short service this evening.  The men who went to Promise Keepers at Colorado Springs talked about that.  15 men from our church went, but only 8 were there tonight.  Darrel had bought a ticket, but was still so tired from our trip that he gave his ticket to a new young man, and he said he really enjoyed PK.

Diane and Jeff came to get Abby and they wanted to eat at the Taste of China---twice today for us.   :P  Abby and I made her a Student Control Journal this afternoon (Fly Lady, for those who know about her) and her dad was really impressed.  I hope Abby will use it to keep on track and so they don't have to nag at her to do her chores, pick up after herself, etc.  She asked for her own timer, and they promised to get her one.

Tomorrow is another day, as Scarlett said.  What will we do with it?

That is sad Ruth  Unfortunately far too many Christians have the attitude that they have to "get something" out of the service.  We have taken the opposite attitude and ask what we can do to meet the needs of others.  Sometimes a hug is all that is needed.

It is late and I am just reading the messages.  This has been a rough day.  So much should have been done but didn't.  Ah well tomorrow is another day.  Took the opportunity too rest up today and toorrow back to the list of job's to be done.

I am tired, and going to hed for ZZZZZZZZZZ's soon
Night all
