Verse for Today...
"But those who wait on the LORD
       Shall renew their strength;
They shall mount up with wings like eagles,
They shall run and not be weary,
They shall walk and not faint."

~Isaiah 40:31 NKJV~

Quote of the Day...
"He who fears God has nothing else to fear."
~C. H. Spurgeon~
Morning Devotional...

I saw also the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and His train filled the temple.
Isaiah 6:1

The God of glory appeared unto our father Abraham.
Acts 7:2

Is this just another Sunday or is this the Lord's Day when we come with our hearts prepared to worship?

What caused Isaiah to worship?

What caused Abraham to worship?

They both experienced the joy of seeing the Lord.

Throughout this past week, have you been taking time to "see the Lord" as He is revealed in His Word?

Have you been preparing your heart daily for this awesome and glorious privilege to worship?

May we see the Lord Jesus in all His glory as we worship today.
                                                                                    --James Comte

We worship Thee,
all glorious Lord;
Forever be
Thy name adored.

10.30 a.m.

Hi Pat....I am up and at it now......

Thank-you for the Devotional this morning.  I am waiting on the Lord for an answer to something.

I am also waiting for Him to renew my strength, in His timing.  I know there is a lesson in the "waiting" and I pray for patience and an obedient spirit...Amen!

It is a joy to have you back Pat but I think we shall have to tie you down to make you rest!

May the Lord bless and keep all of you,
And make His face to shine upon you,
And give you His peace.

In the love of Christ,
Jenny.

Occasionally my best friend and I drive about 2.5 hours to meet together in a town in Kentucky. She moved away to be closer to Etta Sue (to Indianapolis :-\), and we really miss each other.

My birthday is July 23, and her's is July 24. Since 1965, we have celebrated every birthday together - until this year. So, we planned our celebration a bit late.

She brought fresh picked (and strung) green beans and home grown tomatoes. I brought paper that they need for printing from the computer and for her little grandson to draw upon. No monetary expenditure on either side, but lots of love in those simple gifts.

We thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon. And she brought Cord with her. I love him like he's my grandson. And, since I got to the meeting place first, I was sitting with window rolled down reading while waiting for them to arrive.

As they drove up, his jaw dropped, eyes lit up, a big grin played across his face, and he asked permission to scamper out of their van and into my lap! I thoroughly enjoyed all the 6-year-old hugs and kisses I got throughout the afternoon's visit. Mary had not told him they were meeting me, so it was his big surprise of the day. And pure joy for me to see them both.

I am tired, but thankful for such a delightful afternoon. And, while still recuperating, I'm feeling much better after those tests on Friday.

Y'all have a good day.

Ruth Ann

Good Morning, I finished my prayer time a  little earlier this morning, turned on the TV and there was John Hagee, I haven't been able to get any Christian TV programs since I have been here, Now I know that John Hagee comes on at 6am on Sunday morning, Praise the Lord.

I am waiting upon the Lord, daily for everything in my life. He is my refuge and my strength. My God in who I trust.

Thank you Pat for the reminder of that this morning.

This is the day the Lord hath made I will rejoice and be glad in it. Rejoice! and again I say Rejoice!.

Be back later

Hi everyone.  Have about 5 minutes before we have to leave for church.  I already attended the first service as our choir decided to sing at both services this morning.  We sang "And the Father Will Dance", which is a wonderful anthem filled with joy.  We will repeat it at the 11 am service.  Our summer intern, who is in Seminary at Columbia Theological, gave a fine sermon this morning.  He is going to make a good preacher.  There were about 100 at the first service, including the choir.

It is good to see those who have posted here already.  Don't have time right now to name names but will try to get back later.

I pray that God will bless each of us today and show us the way he would have us to go.

First, I want to say to Jane that we must have been posting at the same time yesterday, so I missed your post about the fire.  I'm so sorry, dear one!  And I pray the insurance does take care of the damage.  Also, that you get the other things fixed that are needing done.  You have certainly had a season of trials lately.  "But the trying of our faith produces patience.  But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing."  James 1:3-4

I must look that up in the Amplified.  Our pastor always taught us that patience means "responding to things the same way, time after time."  Not just letting things roll over us like we were a doormat.  There is great strength in patience.  I hope this helps you.  (Though I'm sure YOU could teach ME volumes!)  I love you, Jane!

Ria, thanks for your kind words today.  And in answer to your questions, YES, it is the same here in the USA with same-sex marriages being pushed for; couples living together without being married;  but here, lots of them still do not marry, even after children arrive!  Yes, this world is growing darker and more evil, but I am comforted by the verse that says "Where sin doth abound, grace doth much more abound!"  God is in control, and WE WIN!!  We just need to finish our job of preaching the gospel to every nation, and we can go home to heaven!  Praise God!

Marilyn, I am believing for the Sonlight to shine upon your heart today in such a measure that any depression will become only a distant memory!  Bless you, my Sister!

Ruth Ann, I'm so happy you had such a good day with your friend and surrogate grandson!  Kids are so special!  Who wouldn't feel good, with a child's arms hugging us??  When we got to the Hugoton park yesterday, Abby spotted us right away and came running to fling herself into Grandma's arms.  Yes, life is good.  Kids' love is so non-judgmental---love it!

Good morning, (or afternoon?) Jenny!  I wish you a God-blessed day today, with all your needs met---nothing missing; nothing broken!

Hi there, Pat!  Here are some big hugs for you! (((hugs)))

Larry, you are one busy man!  God bless you as you sing with the choir today.

Now I have to get dressed for church--and that right quickly!  This afternoon we finish the scuba class.  Talk to you later!

Ria, It is the same in England.

The English Church ..Anglican Communion, tries to ordain Homosexual Bishops...the latest one is still living with his male partner, although he says he is now celibate.....(That suits him to say it now)........The Anglican Archbishop was confirmed a Druid recently. The Druids were pre Christian. He's Welsh and can find lots of reasons why it's all alright! He's also being paid by the Anglican Church.  This is double standards to my mind. My Mother was Welsh and it is not alright! WHAT A MESS THEY ARE MAKING OF THE CHURCH OF ENGLAND....

I am not judging "Gay" folks.  I b elieve that it is wrong to have a sexual relationship with a same sex partner.  The Bible says so.I believe that there are homosexuals who are trying very hard to be celibate and I do think they have a right to receive Holy Communion, if they have repented......in just the same way that an adulterer can repent and come to Christ.

When we come to Christ and are "born again" we do not come under condemnation.

Life is a journey and I praise God for My shepherd Jesus.  He leads me out to safe pastures.

Surely we must all make every effort now in these end times to spread the Gospel of Truth that is in Jesus Christ....In season and out of season as St. Paul puts it.

Don't be fooled when you hear that England has a Christian Government.  It does not....
This is not a Christian Country.

I pray for the disestablishment of the Church of England. The Government will not then decide who will be the Archbishop of Canterbury, and will not be able to tell Christians what to do....The law of God and the Laws of State should be separate...  This  is coming thank God.

Jenny i also say it is wrong the same sex people that they may married. Holland is not a christian country we have an christian government this moment but they
are saying nothing about that. But  we must read what is standing in our Bible. I have a Dutch bible you have
an Englisch Bible also Canada and America. But in your
Bibbles are staying the same things as in a Dutch Bible.
And then we can ask what haa God saying about the same sex . It is not Good that the same sex people are
marry or living together.

We are supposed to have separation of church and state in the U.S., Jenny.  It was originally intended as what you're hoping for - to prevent the government from imposing any particular religion.  And that was fine, until some over educated idiots decided there was more to it than that.

Now the ACLU (American Civil Liberties Union - what a misnomer!) enforces their non-religion viewpoint on everyone and everything.   If some atheist becomes offended at a Nativity display in a public setting, it has to be taken down.  For ONE person's "comfort"!   >:(

But I hadn't better get started on the subject of the ACLU.  :-\

We didn't get to church this morning.  It's a "Fifth Sunday" special and they had a repeat of a missionary presentation we saw a few weeks ago so we turned on some TV preachers instead.

Our weather has really cooled down for a while - it was 40 F when I got up this morning.  Oh, yes....  I got up at 5:21 when the phone rang.  Just one ring and it stopped, but by the time I got my heart slowed down and back in my chest instead of my throat, I was wide awake.   ::)

Jeanne thanks  for sharing re the government over there...I have heard about the A.C.L.U. and I wonder whose liberties are at stake here.

We have to be very careful over here now not to offend some of the other religions that have entered the country.  It's gone mad...Political correctness.

Soon there will be more mosques than  operative Christian churches over here, at least in Birmingham and I keep recalling that Jesus said we are "a little flock".  Non-the- less "It is the Father's good pleasure to give us the Kingdom" dear brothers and sisters.

We have to be very careful not to offend other cultures but Christianity loses out every time.

I tried to warn a city councillor about some young men who were calling for a Holy War on a  Birmingham (England) Radio Station  prior to 11 Sept. and he laughed at me!  He told me he knew the Station and often called in there to see them.  This late night program went on for months prior to 11 Sept. and young Asian men were phoning in and getting very excited about it all.  Our city Councillors are too bothered about the business community and the votes.

I do praise God that we are of one mind and heart on this Web site.

I love you all.
Good night and God Bless,
Jenny.

Jeanne, you said it!  About the lousy ACLU--they are doing everything in their power to destroy our country!  Like you said, don't get me started on them!

The pastor we heard this morning preached on Phil. 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.  His main point was that as Christians, we should not spend too much time thinking of all the bad things that are happening all around us, but to think on the Lord, and His goodness, and anything esle that fits the above Scripture.  It was a very encouraging message.

We finished up the scuba class, and I seem to be pretty tired!  Toting all that heavy equipment runs into work!  Darrel sprained his back yesterday, so I was trying to take as much of the load off him as possible.  The students all did well, now all they lack is their open water dives at Santa Rosa, New Mexico in a couple of weeks, and they will be certified divers! ;D

Pat, you sure are quiet today!  ;) :D ;D

"Separation of Church and state" was originally intended to keep the government out of the churches - to prevent government from interfering and to keep it from monetarily supporting particular denominations.  It was not in any way intended to keep Christianity out of government, however.  Nor was it ever intended to pacify atheistic offended parties by denying the free exercise of Christian principles in public life or expression.  I believe we ought to recommend civil disobedience whenever such expression is disallowed.  I believe it is time for Christians to do what they are told not to do.  And I believe it is time political activist atheists to be told "NO" to their faces.  When a school principal is told not to have prayers at this or that function, then it is time to have them anyway, and if some are carted off to jail, then so be it!  I believe it is time for the activists to be carted off to jail.
After all, dear brothers and sisters, the government of this nation is said to be "of the people, by the people and for the people."  If that is so, then you and I are responsible for these awful things that are happening unless we stand up and refuse them, call on others to do the same, and, if necessary, defend constitutional government by force of arms.
These may be radical ideas.  I think the activists are the ones with the radical ideas - and actions.  If we don't stop them, then we're implicated with them.
Please join me in the prayer I've placed in the prayer folder.

I must be losing it.  I KNOW I wrote a post this morning before leaving for church.  Cyberspace must have gotten it.

Pat ~ Thank you for the great devotional.

Jenny ~ Good to see you posting in YOUR morning...our night.  I pray for patience and obedience always, too.

Ria ~ Even if Indiana adopts same sex marriages, our pastor said no way would he perform the marriages.  Anyone married in our church has to have 6 months counseling before our pastor will marry them.  Our church is the largest in the county and many were asking to be married and never return so our pastor set up this policy.

Ruth Ann ~ That is great that you got to meet your friend and her grandson for a visit.  You will just have to come to Indy to see her and I could meet you in Indy also.  That would be great!!!

Marilyn ~ Yes, this is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.  What a glorious day to glorify God in what all we do.  I am praying that your Lord's day has been fabulous.

Larry ~ I am glad to hear that you are back singing with your choir.  I didn't realize you were singing with them again.  That is great.  I wish I could sing better.  I am so glad there are many in our congregation that drowns out my tones!

Janet ~ I am glad your post reminded me about Jane's bathroom fire. I mentioned to her about it in my lost post.  Sure hope your scuba diving lessons were great.  That sounds like so much fun.

JANE ~ Before I forget....so sorry about your fire.  I, too, hope that insurance takes care of it and that all your trials are over.  It does seem like your curtains keep falling down.  See, I wrote that this morning in my lost post because my Barbara Johnson daily quote for today is.....Everytime I get my act together, the curtain comes down.

Jeanne ~ I agree....we are suppose to have a separation of church and state but then the one offended by anything gets the right to get whatever removed so his comfort level is not offended.

Church this morning was very good.  Jerry went with me and our church isn't for the person that has problems walking.  It is a long walk from a handicapped parking space to the sanctuary.  But Jerry did great.  One highlight of the service was a video recorded a week ago Saturday night at one of our member's home on a lake.  Pastor David said over 200 were there with the lawn chairs and blankets to listen to the Word.  The big highlight was 23 were baptized in the lake.  I sure had tears of joy watching the video.  Jerry and I ate breakfast out....his first time out since the stroke.  We then stopped by his place to get his mail.  We got back here around noon.  He was so tired.  He took a nap while I got caught up on my TV recordings while gone for two weeks.  We had a snack for supper.  He is watching NASCAR while I am catching up on here.  What a great day.  God is good!!!

Uh, where is Papa John????????????

Hi Pat:
Good to have you back.  Enjoyed your devotional today.  There is a song we sing at church:

I worship you Almighty God,
There is none like You.
I worship you oh Prince of Peace
That is what I long to do.
I give you praise, for You are my Righteousness
I worship you Almighty God
There is none like you.

One day I will be able to put the music on the computer and we can all sing it.   Bye bye.

Pat: yes I got your email. Thank you dear sister.

I am just home now fromt he potluck and I am stuffed. Judy the Pastors wife sent all kinds of food home with me. I have enough baked beans  to feed all of CP. Then she also sent 2 differnet potato salads, 1 macaroni  salad and 1 fruit salad with whipped cream in it. I ended up with a box to carry everything in.

This morning at church they annointed me with oil and laid hands on me and prayed for me to be delivered from the depression. Our Bible study last Wednesday was  on Psam 77 and depression, as well as the sermon this morning and next  Wednesday Bible Study will be continued on depression  too.  Judy told me that when she saw me last Sunday she knew  something was wrong.

I have been invited to share my testimony at the Tribal youth program at the Tsuari Racheria (they don't call them reservations anymore) that one of the Native Americans is the director of and goes to our church. Brother Fred is a full Tsuari from Trinidad. He and his wife were the first people I met at church and shared their testimony with me, I couldn't pass up the chance to share mine with them. I don't think Pastor knows my testimony yet unless Brother Fred has told him.

What a wonderful opportunity God has given me to talk to the youth and perhaps make a difference in their lives. I asked if I could talk about Jesus and Brother fred told me only to tell that that  Jesus saved me and delivered me from my drug habit.
Since it is a public place and by law were not allowed to talk of Jesus or proslytize in a public program.

Now about the ACLU It is my understanding that the original ACLU was a communist, atheist organization whose main goal is to remove  the church from the USA constitution, and make us as close to communist as possible. To take God out of eveything.  All documents included.

Ok I am off my soap box now and this is way too long, I hope cyberspace doesn't eat it.

How about a "new every evening" board!    ::)   I don't get to the computer too much in the mornings, but I do enjoy reading all the posts.

I need to see if there is somewhere on here to set up a profile...looks like there is.

A little about me, as some of you have asked.

I have just turned 42; married for almost 23 years and I have two daughters ages 21 and almost 9.  We live in Hamilton, Ohio.   My husband's mother also lives with us (as did my husband's father until his death 2 years ago.)

I have been a life-long Lutheran until about 4 yrs ago when we moved, and now I attend a Church of God.   I still am active in some Lutheran groups, and miss that church.  However, I am starting to grow more accustomed to the Church of God (out of Anderson IN.)

I was a stay-at-home mom for many years and have been a Realtor for the past 6 years.  I love my job and it is a great blessing for me.  It works very well for our family and it uses a lot of my gifts.

My interests are digital photography and scrapbooking,  music (I play the guitar, sing, and occassionally write songs),  and writing.   I also enjoy playing volleyball and table tennis.

So there's a little about me.  Good to "meet" you all.

Good to hear from you Mamapo.  I see you like to write.  We also have a section in our forums where you can post poetry, etc. if you write any of that.

Our mini-vacation was a lot of fun.  I took some shots in the "Ripley's Aquarium of the Smokies."  That was cool.  I had been to the aquarium in Chattanooga, TN, but i think I like Gatlinburg's better.

We had a "decoration" this morning to go to, then church tonight.  The temperature is not that high here, currently, but it is so incredibly humid that it is just downright humid.  I think that is why we are all "draggy" this evening.

I would write more, but I need to get caught up on some other stuff.  Back laterz

karma

PS --  I just wanna see how many of you know what a "decoration" is.  :P

Just come in whenever you can.  We have folks in England and Scotland and Holland who come in while we're all sleeping!  We have a couple registered who live in Australia but they haven't posted yet.

Here we are at the start of another week--the last week of August!  Where has the summer gone?  Soon it will be September and we'll enjoy the autumn show of the changing of the colours of leaves.

Let's make sure that we go to the "Have You Prayed About It?" and share our prayers for our respective countries.  There's a link in the first post tomorrow.
