JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Oldiesmann: So sorry for your loss Carol. Praying for you and your family :( 2022-05-01, 17:13:05

The above is for you Marilyn.  I read your requests...also read about the mother passing away.  I said a prayer when reading both requests.  BUT...and this is me...I very seldom go to the prayer request area because I get so caught up in the sadness of these requests.  I don't like to be sad.  I like to be happy.  So I really like it when someone says...I have put a prayer request in the prayer request area for.....  I then say a quick prayer.  God knows what is wrong.  I don't need to know what is wrong.  Does that all make sense, Marilyn?  Also I tend to write a book and I just don't have time!!!!   ::)

Besides that, I had a good excuse yesterday!!!!!  Ivalou went to call me yesterday and her phone was dead.  So she called me on her cell phone and my line was busy.  She called a neighbor...busy.  She callled a classmate....busy.  She called Kaye Don and they are in Michigan...busy.  So she came over here.  My phone was dead!!!!  She asked me over to her house for pizza.  So I looked up the repair phone number and she called them on her cell phone.  'Course, the pat answer is to unplug your phone and all electronic devices and plug them back in.  No, ma'am....the area is DEAD!   >:(  So she said our service would be repaired by 6 p.m. MONDAY!!!!!!!  What?  No internet!!!!   >:(  It was still dead this morning before church but when I got home from church, my phone had a dial tone again.   ;D

Also.........I CAUGHT THE GROUNDHOG!!!!!!  You can see him
here!!!!

Marilyn normally doesn't shop on Sunday and I normally don't mow the yard on Sunday.  ::)  But the weather man changed his mind.  Instead of sunny tomorrow it is to rain tomorrow so I mowed today....sorry God!!!

Papa John

Dear Pat,  thank you for the song, REDEEMED,

Redeemed, how I love to proclaim it!
Redeemed by the blood of the Lamb;
Redeemed through His infinite mercy,
His child and forever I am.

I remember singing this song for as far back as I remember things.  It is a wonderful song with a wonderful message.

Jenny, thank you for your report on our sister Ria.  I will remember to pray for her.

Marilyn, I’m sorry for not following up on all the things I read here.  Forgive me.  I know last year when I was sick in the hospital you were praying for me.  God heard all of your prayers.  Afterwards I was told that there was one point where they gave me about a 10% chance to survive.  But God gave me 100% and one reason was the prayers of so many.  Seems like when I am here reading the posts it is hard for me to remember to do all the things I should.

Cornelia is calling me saying it is time to leave for church.  I didn’t get all the posts read.  Maybe after service tonight I can come back.  Love to you all.

Janet

Hello, all you dear people!  Janet is here to report-------the party was all I hoped it would be! Beth was totally surprised, as we had her convinced she was coming to have photos taken.  Well, that was true enough!  There were many photos taken! ;D  There were 57 people there, and she got many nice gifts, but the best thing was that now she knows she is loved and cared for by so many people.  I told her that what struck me was the age variance of the guests.  There were a lot there who are quite a bit older than me, some my age, classmates from her high school and college years, younger people and children.  And they all had such nice things to say about Beth.

I heard comments like "She is such an inspiration,"  "She's a trooper"  "Beth has always been a favorite of mine"  "She's a blessing"  "She is so courageous"  "She always has a big smile for you"
"She is a treasure" and other similar things.  It was just a wonderful evening!

AND WE DIDN'T RUN OUT OF FOOD!! In fact, there was plenty of food left over. I sent food home with several, the kids took some, and we will be eating it for a couple more days, too.  And we have the whole layer cake left, but they polished off the two big sheet cakes!  We will probably freeze most of the layer cake for later.  So all of you who said stop fretting were RIGHT ON.

Beth got 96 cards!!  She is so happy, and said "That's more cards for one birthday than I have gotten in at least 20 years!"  And you dear folks were a big part of that.  Some of the neatest cards she got were from you here on CP.  As her Mom, I send you a big collective THANK YOU and (((HUGS))).

Beth also recieved $110 in cash, and gift certificates to several local restaurants.  Those will be so nice for times when we are out of town, as the ones who gave them also told her they want to come and take her to dinner to use them.  Isn't that thoughtful?  People are wonderful, and desire to be a blessing, I think.

I was so wound up last night after we got home that I couldn't sleep, now I am about to fall on my face on my keyboard!  Beth's friend who brought her to the party also brought her home, so she wouldn't have to stay while we did the cleanup.  And she said she was too excited to sleep, too, so she got up and looked at her cards again.  They will continue to bless her for a long time to come.

I went over to Beth's today to sort out her things and look at the cards (too busy last night) and I'm just overwhelmed at the kindness of so many people who went out of their way to make her day special.

I will be back with photos after I go to Walmart and get them on a disc and also want to have them printed for her album.  By the way, the album, photos and special birthday CD were a big hit!

Anyway, a big God bless you to each of you who sent a card and best wishes!  I love you!

I am totally gobsmacked. I composed the best post in history this morning and now I can't see it. I did write something controversial, so I think Sonja might have shot it off into space somewhere ;D ;D

My mother got rushed into hospital yesterday, but they don't seem to know what is wrong with her, so I am sorry for the brevity of the post but my mind is in a tizzy. Just stopping by to say goodnight. Thank you all for the fellowship today. We are off on our church picnic tomorrow as it is Bank Holiday in the UK, so it will rain for sure. See y'all tomorrow.

Anthony.

Oh, Anthony...  I'm so sorry to read this news of your mother.  Please know that I'll continue to pray for her AND for you too at this time.

Keep in touch and let us know how she is doing.

Anthony, I assume that your mother is still in the hospital since you said they didn't know what was wrong.  I will be praying for her,  you and that the doctors  will soon find the problem and be able to effectively address it.

Janet, I just knew in my heart that you would be writing the report you did of the party.  It seems we always worry needlessly and things work out.  Of course, I know that you put a lot of work and love into the preparations which contributed to the success.  Maybe you will be able to get a good nights sleep.

Etta Sue, glad you got the groundhog.  Ugly little things wasn't he.  Not something you want for a pet.

Have had a most interesting day today.  This morning was the final service of our revival and what a great service we had.  We had both contemporary and traditional  music and the minister brought another fine message challenging us to accept the calling to community.  We also commissioned two of our members who are going to Belieze on a missionary trip.  In about 3 weeks we have about a dozen folks going to Hondurus again for a week's mission trip.  Our church has done this for several years.  After church there was a reception.

I brought Pat home and then drove on to the computer store to get the wireless router that was offered with my new laptop.  Shortly after I got back someone knocked on the front door and it was our son, who we weren't expecting to drop by.  The Lord was looking after me today as he had the time to stay and install the new router and get the computers all working with it.  His sister's computer hasn't been working properly and he diagnosed that the video card had failed so I quickly went to Circuit City and got a new one and he installed it.  Then he tried to correct some other computer problems for her but ended up having to reformat her computer and reinstall Windows XP, which is still installing.  I just hope that something else isn't wrong with it.

Needless to say I am worn down this evening as this has been a very full day.

Kathy

Janet! :)  What a nice party for Beth!  A praise for today!

Anthony...I will be praying for your mom.

Anthony, I'm so happy to see you posting, but so sorry to hear of your mother's illness.  My Mom got to come to Beth's party last night; my nephew went to the care home and got her and then my sister took her back.  I hope your mom is soon home and feeling well again.

Marilyn, even though I didn't "say" anything, I did pray.  But I understand how you felt, I think we all have times like that (at least I know some of us do.)  Everyone has their own "style"...some of us talk a lot, some too much (I mean ME)  :P and some like dear Jane, don't have a lot to say, but I love all of you and appreciate you so much.

Tomorrow I must get back on track with some framing I have been letting slide.  I want to go to Liberal to Walmart and get the party pictures, too, if I can work it out.  Abby is begging me to come see her........she hasn't forgotten about that Princess Party!  ::)

We had a great service today.  Our pastor had friends from Indiana visiting, and he brought the message.  Boy, was he a ball of fire!  I doubt anyone nodded off during his sermon!  And the music is getting better and better, too.  It feels so good to be a part of a service where the presence of God is so strongly felt.

Should I or shoudn't I?????   Oh, I just can't keep it to myself!  John told Beth this morning on the computer ---- for the first time---  that he loves her!! :D :D :D  She was floating about four feet off the floor all day!  I have NEVER seen her so happy!  So, YES, this was her very best and most memorable birthday ever.  I'm so happy for her. 8) 8)

Larry, I'm gald God sent your son by at just the time he was needed, and helped with those computer problems.  Sometimes I have to wait quite a while for help with mine; and I'm not nearly as knowledgable as you are on computer stuff.

Pat, I hope your antibiotics have done their job by now and that you are back to good health 100%.  I miss our little chats.

I guess I will head to bed and hope for a full night of sleep tonight.  Thank you all again for the cards for Beth!  You're the greatest! ;D ;D

I will be praying for Ria that God will give her a special touch from Himself.

AAAHHHH Janet, that is FANTASTIC!  :D I'm happy for Beth too ... yup, I'd say this was the very bestest birthday ever for her!   :D  :D

Yea Janet.  Glad to hear that the party was a hit.  And the news about John is thrilling.  I know we should "rest" in God's love, but to have the admiration and affirmation of another is a need I think many, many people have (especially we females).

Marilyn, I, too, am sorry I didn't "say" anything.  I did say a prayer for G. and I have been praying for you too.  You seem to be a fantastic caregiver -- that has to be a calling from God.

We had a tremendous service at church this morning.  Some things have happened over the past weeks that have "pruned" out some things, and now there are people in the altar every Sunday.  I think the count today was between 5 and 8 getting saved.

to the others I didn't address specifically - thanks for posting.  It's good to know that while I was "away," others weren't!!!!

Marilyn

Just stopping in to say good night. See y-all in the morning.
