Morning Devotional...

They constrained Him, saying, Abide with us...And He went in to tarry with them..                           Luke 24:29

In a day of mixed emotions, the tomb was empty and the once crucified body was gone.  The unknown Traveler on the Emmaus road had caused their heart to burn with excitement as He talked of the One they loved.

He had come in to tarry with them.  His nail scarred hands had broken the bread, and their joy had known no bounds.

The risen Christ was in their home!

Could anything be more thrilling than Christ in our midst?

Yes,!  Praise God, we will soon be in His home.

He and I in that bright glory
one deep joy shall share:
Mine to be forever with Him;
His, that I am there.

Well, I've been out all day (Saturday), and trying to catch up on all of you guys takes a lot of time!!  It's 11:30pm here and time for BED!  You guys are prolific!

Wanted to say Hi to Ruthie!  Wish I could do some of that fancy stuff, but I'm not that clever.  I can maybe make it big and red!

Welcome to our little corner of cyber space, Ruthie!

Hello Pinkie:
Thank you for the welcome.  Today I looked out the window and my cat was after a bird.  I thought it was a wild bird.  I ran outside to rescue it and found it was a white budgie.  After going door to door I finally took it in my cat cage down the city to the Humane Society where they took a picture of it and gave a report.  After that my car wouldn't start and I had to wait for over an hour.  Just got home at 11:45 p.m.  That's my excitment for the day.  Hope your day has gone better.  Ruthie

Hey Ruth I am glad to see you here!  I am your norhtern cousin.  Better get your camera clicking!

I have had a busy day, Saturday, and I am just wrapping up the night.  I am off to bed in a few.  I was at my grand son's birhtday party today.  And guess what!  I was able to spend some time with my to other grand son's as well.  Bear in mind I haven't been allowed to see the oldest for 2 years!  Janet I understand the concept of a child being "prickly" I have one too.  I will be posting pictures as soon as they are developed.

I agree with Pat.  If anyone wants rain I will ship it down to you.  This is a big weekend for the fair in North Bay and we have had rain on and off since it started,  When it rainned it came down in buckets. Usually by now I can relax on the lawn mowing.  Not this year.

I have a friend whose father has had cancer surgery.  I gave the report that all went well and the doctors got all the cancer and all looked good.  Well We heard last night that 10 out of 19 lymph glands are cancerous.  He is termional.  Please keep Rick in your prayers as he is not a christian and the only consistant example he has had is his dad.  Dad is elderly and ready to go home, But Rick isn't ready to let him go yet.

Well I am off to bed, and will re read all the posts when I get home from church.

Bye for now and blessings on the morrow.

England. 10.30 a.m.

Good morning folks from across the waters..
It's a glorious morning.........sun screen needed for skin today.
In front of this house is the large green with two oak trees and on Sunday mornings it's so peaceful here.  Hard to imagine the heavy amount of traffic that goes past on weekdays! It's on one of the main roads leading to Birmingham Airport. There's a cute little private Hotel, a Victorian cottage, across near the park where the European businessmen and U.S. visitors stay. It's quite handy for the airport.

Anyway the Heavens declare the glory of the Lord most certainly on this day.  Thank you Heavenly Father.

I am thinking of our cousins in Vancouver.  The news here is bad re fires out of control.
Will pop in to "Prayers" for them.

Love, Joy and Peace, In Jesus Name,
sis Jenny.

Good Morning Everyone...

So far, it's a lovely day and hopefully it won't be a rainy day.  I was planning on visiting a local church this morning but then my son phoned to say his power steering has gone in his car and could I take his boy to camp for the start of his camp week...  So I'm off to do just that and won't be back till later on this evening.

I pray you all have a blessed day where you worship.

I hope your day was just the best, Ken!  We all do.

Ruthie, that's something about the budgie!  My goodness!  Someone is maybe missing their pet bird.

I don't have time to put in fancy stuff but....

Happy Birthday to Al and Ken!!!

Welcome, Ruthie!!!!

Great talking to you this morning, Pat!!

I am ready for church and then will get Jerry's mail and then have lunch with him.  He is to have some company today and I am hoping to come home around 4pm and mow.  It rained cats and dogs last night.  Hope it dries off!!!

Hi everyone.  Pat and I will be off to church in about 30 minutes.  Our choir had taken the month of July off and we will resume being in the choir loft each Sunday from now until next July.  We will be singing an anthem this morning, one we have done before as we had only last Wednesday night to prepare it.

Etta Sue, sure hope picking up all those "cats and dogs" that rained down last night won't delay your grass mowing.   :D  (Just a  little lame humor for a beautiful Sunday morning.)  Sure hope you will have found Jerry in an improved state today and that he will have been able to resume his rehab, or do they not do rehab on weekends?

Happy Birthday to Al and Ken.  Here I am late again as usual.

I also want to extend a big hearty welcome to Ruthie.

Jenny, it is nice when the traffic lessens for awhile, even if just for a day.

Judyb, sure glad you were able to see your grandson that you hadn't seen in quite awhile.  I have never understood why a parent would want to restrict their children seeing their grandparents.

Our morning devotional ask
QuoteCould anything be more thrilling than Christ in our midst?
I certainly can't think of anything that would be more wonderful.

Hope everyone has a great day.

Ruthie

Thank you Everyone for your welcomes and kind words.  I will have to get a picture of myself and then I will have to figure out how to get it on the computer.  I'm sure Pat will help me.  Hope you have a good day Pat and Larry and Judy and anyone I have missed.  Talk to you after church.   Bye  Ruthie

Good Morning The fog is thick here in McKinleyville this morning. Hoping it will burn off later in the day, Being so close to the ocean is great. I love it. Must be at church an hour early this morning for intercessory prayer meeting with the Pastor's mother and some of the others.

This is the day the Lord hath made Let us rejoice and be glad in it. This is communion Sunday  here, I always look forward to communion Sunday, a time to reflect over the past month at myself and search my heart for all those little things that may not have been quite right. Spending more time in prayer and with the Lord is something I really need to do.

Be back later. Y-all have a great Lord's day

AL...             BELATED BIRTHDAY GREETINGS

KEN              BELATED BIRTHDAY GREETINGS

Please forgive me. I was just reading up some notes and noticed I had written your birthdays down....I have some of those "funny moments" Marilyn, more than I care to admit.

There has been so much going on with Baby Georgia's birth etc., but that is no excuse.

I don't know if Ken looks in very often.  Will e mail him.
I liked his pics of his home area.

Meika....Glad you are alright.

Meika You are such a riot!  Your smilleys are working and you are posting again.  I do love to read your posts.  It cheers my day.

Pat enjoy your sunshine,  it looks like more rain up here.

We are babysitting Katie's dog.  This little critter is bold in chewing, anything and everything in site.  I am glad I have a kennel for him or every shoe in the house would be garbage.  He is giving my kitties a heart attack too.

On with my day, Have a good one folks.

JudyB

I just read a story that has me weeping.  It is about a beggars rags.  I am including the url for it.  I don't know if this is allowed or not but here is the url

http://www.promiseofgod.com/rags/

You may have to copy and paste.  And folks lets get rid of the rags we are hanging on to that are holding us back in our walk.

Papa John

A good Sunday afternoon to you all.  We went to our Bible school and worship this morning and enjoyed the worship and fellowship.  Actually I didn't feel like getting out but I'm sure it did me good anyway.

Mieka, your suggestion about walking backwards I thought was a good idea until I realized that my eyes are in front and I can't see out of the back of my head.     ;D

Pat, I thought of how Jesus wants to come in and have fellowship with us.
Rev 3:20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me. (KJV)

A happy belated birthday to Ken and Al.

Meika, you are absolutely priceless!  I'll have to try walking backward when my back begins to bother me.  ;D ;D ;D

Say!  Did anyone notice - yesterday was another new record with 61 postings!!!

Our pastor and two of our congregation are travelling today to a leadership class in Stephen Ministry, so we had a guest speaker again.  This is a retired Lutheran minister who is a regular at our services and brings a message every now and then.  Today he spoke on "Pleasant Words" stressing how harmful gossip can be and how we should always try to find something good to say.

My airconditioners are getting some use today - it's hot and sticky again so we turned on the one in the living room before we left for church.  It was so nice to come home to such comfort.

Hey folks Maria is from Holland!  She is John's first cousin.  Thankyou for welcoming her.

Welcome Maria!
I am leaving to check the other forums, have a good day all.

We are back home from church, too.  Our youth pastor had the service this morning and gave a thout-provoking message on Prayer.  He posed some interesting questions, such as:  Is God really interested in our little tiny prayers, such as lost keys, missing pets, etc?  What about those really big prayers, are they too tough for God?  Such as "God, protect everyone from harm today; God, please feed Africa today, etc."  Can God really listen to millions of prayers at the same time, and understand all those different languages, and keep everything straight?  It was an interesting message.

Abby and I got a couple of her fair projects finished yesterday, one partly done (waiting for glue to dry) and have a couple more to do yet today and tomorrow.  Their fair starts Tuesday.

Curtis (Grandson) and his buddy and roommate for college this year were up yesterday to use Papa's tools.  They are building a loft for their room, to make better use of the tiny space they have.  I volunteered to make some curtains for them, they want to curtain off their bunks.  They will have a couch underneath the beds, and will use the unit Curtis built last year for all the computer and TV stuff.  It was fun having them around.

I think I missed saying HAPPY BIRTHDAY, AL!!  HAPPY BIRTHDAY, KEN!!  AND WELCOME, RUTHIE!!

Mieka, I will tell Beth your back pain remedy and see what she thinks!  It might be difficult for her, as she falls a lot walking forward!  You are too fun, little one!  And I do love you so much.

We had a wonderful service. I arrived at 9 a.m. for prayer meeting with 2 other women of the church. We discussed the prayers needed then we each prayed seperately but at the same time for the needs of the people, the nation, the missionaries each other the Pastor and the service. We sat, kneeled and walked, shed a few tears as we cried out to God.

Then at 10 we went into the sanctuary for worship service. Oh I can't tell you how wonderful the worship was, many just lifting their hands to the Lord and speaking directly to him in song and in prayer.

Pastors message was on Receiving the Fullness of our Salvation. Not just sitting in the pews each Sunday and never experiencing the Fullness. We had 1 lady to receive the Lord.

There was another season of prayer after the sermon, with people at the altar, kneeling by  thier seats crying out to God for whatever their need happened to be. It was one of those servcices that you just don't want to leave the presence of God.

We meet again at 4 to pray and then service at 5 p.m. An early evening service because there are quite a few little ones that parents wnat to get home early.

Pat: Thanks for your devotional.

Mieka and Papa John I love the humor. A laugh will allow us to forget the pain for a few minutes.

Welcome Maria.

I am finding it interesting to notice the numbers of Ruth's with different spellings.

We again have had rain to-day not much though, our garden small that it is, is doing well.

Sitting here with the radio on many folk are calling in asking questions about computers and several calls about digital cameras. It has been very interesting.

Judy, she is registered, as Maria.  That's how we knew to welcome her.

Maria, I'm sorry I don't speak your language, but you can post a message in any of the forums now.  Just click on the button that says "reply" and in the white box type your message.  Then down just below that, click on the button that says "Post" and we'll all be able to see what you have to say.

I hope one of our widely traveled members will be able to help more.

Hi Ruthie!! - Pat called to tell me you were here on C.P.

I hope you post a photo of yourself, to refresh my memory.  I certainly do remember you, and would like to meet you again.

Maria from Holland:  Welcome to C.P.  I am hoping someone can connect with you, perhaps someone from Holland will see this, and post in your language.  It will be such fun to welcome International Friends!

Papa John:  I am so sorry to learn that you are having problems with your back.  I will be praying for you.

Marilyn:  What is the name of your church?  Isn't it wonderful that you feel so "at home" there already.  I remember when we moved from a church that I absolutely loved, I thought I would never find another quite like it, but would you know, the Lord had one already picked out for me.

When I visited there, back in 1975, I just "knew" it was the place for me.  That must be how you feel where you are.

Jenny:  Nice to see you again, also Meika.  You have certainly won over some hearts here in C.P.

Judy B:  We have had our share of rain today as well.  Fortunately we got home from church in good time, however, Norm and Rags got soaked when they were out for their afternoon walk.

Well, its almost 10:pm..... its been a long day, so I will say "good night to all"
