Don: Hey Judy, It's been a long time. Hope you are doing well. 2024-12-02, 22:41:41

JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Morning Devotional...

She brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped Him in swaddling clothes, and laid Him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.
Luke 2:7

A prince is normally born amidst pomp and ceremony into a palace--but not so the King of kings.

There wasn't any room for Him in the inn that night.

The tremendous event of His birth took place amid rejection, poverty, and obscurity. Mary wrapped her Son in strips of cloth.

We cannot begin to fully understand the stoop of humility when He left the mansions above for the manger below.

But are you not glad that He came?
--John M. Clegg

Thou didst leave Thy throne and Thy kingly crown,
When Thou camest to earth for me;
But in Bethlehem's home there was found no room
for Thy holy nativity.

GOOD MORNING  11.05 AM DUTCH TIME

PAT thank you for the devotional also

First i have read what the last people have writen yesterday when it was night in Holland
A nice story Janet early in your evening.
But i also can feel me very alone when i am in a group
then i am very restless and sometimes i think why are you laughing. Sometimes i love it to be alone now my son has vacance now not. And today my father and hubbie are home. But when it is old year that is a terrible day for me then i am always thinking on the the
people they no more are.
And sometimes i have it also when i am in a church.  Not always./color]

Today we have also rain in Holland yesterday it was dry
others all days rain :(

Psalm 63:1, 3, 5
O God, you are my God, earnestly i seek you;
my soul thirsts for you. Because your love is better than life, my lips will glorify you. My soul will be satisfied as with the richest of foods.

MY GUIDING HAND

God be in my life every
moment, every day...
Be the guiding hand of everything I do.
Be my hope and aspiration,
Be my joy and inspiration,
Let each part of life,
the heart of life, be You

I wish you all a BLESSED SUNDAY
Bye love RIA :)

Sorry that what i have writen all is in red.
I have something done wrong i have been now to my practice ria's place and now i know it Sorry  Ria ::)

Etta Sue

Yep, it is this computer.  I have no pain until I sit here.  I have raised/lowered my chair.  I have raised/lowered my monitor.  I have put the mouse on top of the desk rather than on the drawer with the keyboard.  Nothing helps except sloughing like a teenager!!!   ::)  Then the pain eases up!

Jerry and I are ready for church.  I am suppose to run the lights today.  We will see if I can do both services.

Ria~That is ok about your post is all red.  Sometimes I have to fix mine 4 or 5 times to get it right. :o 8) You are doing a great job!  I am so glad you are feeling better.
Example:
<This one I had to modify I think 4 times now. I wonder if I got it right this time. >

Hi Kathy! That is great that your family had a great time during Christmas and you got to spend some sisterly time with your sister.  :) I love doing that to.  There are so many things that sisters share.  Sisters are a blessing, but so are brothers just in a different way.  ;D

Good morning, Sarah, Jenny, Etta Sue and Pat and all the rest of you Cp'ers who show up today.

We are having a snow storm outside right now.  Drifts up to 3 and 4 feet.
The wind is bitter cold.
BRRRRrrrrrrssss....  We are off to do the papers.  We have 3 routes to deliver.  Ewwww...brrrssss...
Hopefully we will get done in time for Sunday school.

I better get going.  Talk to you all later.  Have a good day!
Soni[/size]

Larry Hanna

Hi everyone.

Sonja, I can't imagine having to deliver papers during a blizzard.  That must be quite a challenge.  Do you have a 4 wheel drive vehicle?  Of course, I guess you all are used to a lot of snow in the winter.  Down here we get a few flakes and things come to a standstill as we have very little road equipment.  Fortunately I no longer have to venture out if we do get snow or ice.

Etta Sue, glad to read that you are at least having time periods without the pain.  It sounds like you are going to have to limit your computer time for awhile. :'( :'(

Jenny, that computer of yours has given a lot of trouble.  Glad you were able to get online and post.

Good morning to Ria, Sarah and Pat and to everyone who stops by today.  We are headed out to Sunday School and church shortly and will probably go out to lunch with our friends.  We haven't eaten with them for the last two Sundays but today is a quieter day and we have nothing else on the schedule.  My poor wife just about did herself in yesterday getting all of the Christmas decorations down and put away on top of cleaning the closet yesterday morning.  I am glad both things are done.

Sarah

hey ya'll
Mom and Dad just got called out on an ambulance run i think (they have left in a hurry) and so i don't think we are going to make it over to church in time. considering it is 10 am and church starts at 1045 and it's a 30 minute drive and who knows when they will be back! i'll have to call my youth leader later on today to find out about youth.  :( was hoping to get to talk to her in person. oh well. maybe i will tonight.
well i'm going to go ttyl
Sarah

Sarah

well they made it back so we are going to go to church. ttyl

Good Morning: I am ready for church and have my chili beans all cooked to the potluck this afternoon.  I will be leaving for prayer meeting shortly, so I will quickly check the other forums here and be on my way.

We have had a hectic weekend so far.  John had a training course in Cambridge and then we took Mother out to dinner and did some shopping with her.  She had a rough day on Boxing Day so it was good to see her yesterday.  Today unfortunately we were unable to get to church as John had another training course.  You see the thing is the only days we can get truckers together are Saturday and Sunday, the rest of the time they are out on the road, there were drivers who didn't even get home to their family for Christmas.  The shippers and receivers dictate freight.

Have a good week and a blessed New Year.

I finally have a partner here to go through the book "the Purpose Driven Life".  I am so excited and so is she.  We both joined choir the same day and we have been buds ever since.  She has 3 girls.  She is so sweet.

I am going to take some pictures today.  I hope and pray they turn out.  I know cameras don't like cold weather but it will have to like it today.

Not sure what else we are going to do today.

We got a waffle maker from Mike's mom and we made some awesome waffles last night.  They are in the shape of Scooby doo.  hehehee...the girls loved them.

Glad you were able to go to church Sarah.

Larry~I don't have 4 wheel drive but I do have front wheel drive with studs on the tires.  I can pretty much go anywhere with studs.

I am off again.

Love Lifted Me
(Click to hear music)

"He was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, 'Lord, save me!' Immediately Jesus reached out His hand and caught him. 'You of little faith,' He said, 'why did you doubt?'" Matthew 14:29-31

Words: James Rowe, 1912.
Music: Howard E. Smith

I was sinking deep in sin, far from the peaceful shore,
Very deeply stained within, sinking to rise no more,
But the Master of the sea, heard my despairing cry,
From the waters lifted me, now safe am I.

Refrain

Love lifted me! Love lifted me!
When nothing else could help
Love lifted me!

All my heart to Him I give, ever to Him I'll cling
In His blessèd presence live, ever His praises sing,
Love so mighty and so true, merits my soul's best songs,
Faithful, loving service too, to Him belongs.

Refrain

Souls in danger look above, Jesus completely saves,
He will lift you by His love, out of the angry waves.
He's the Master of the sea, billows His will obey,
He your Savior wants to be, be saved today.

Refrain

Sounds like you had a good visit with John's Mum, Judy.  I like your 36 steps.  I've copied them out.

Sonja, lovely that you'll be out in the snow taking photos.  I keep my camera inside my coat and take it out only for short periods.  Guess you do too.  I'm so glad you have someone near you to go through the Purpose Driven Life.  We'll go through it together too in our Book Section and that will be great.

Glad you got to church Sarah.

Dinner sounds good, Marilyn!

Larry, Pat puts the Christmas stuff away early.  Up here most put it away just after New Year's.

Etta Sue, I'm so sorry about your pain.  You'll have to figure out something different as to positioning.  We'll miss you if you have to take time away from the site.

Nice to see you Kathy.  Yes, I'm feeling better.  It's just a sad time of year for me so I tend to be a little bit quiet.

I'm missing Al Moak and Lee though.  I hope that they are able to get back and post a lot more.  And Iain too.  I know that Iain is typing out books for his website--books that are long out of print.  Wish I lived closer to him so I could help.

And Ruthie is having so many computer troubles.  I hope that's ironed out soon.

Great that your eyes are so much better, Ria.  That was a terrible time for you.

Hi , I am home from church now, and guess what?  you are all invited to come over and  help me eat this big pot of Chili Beans. The potluck was called off due to so many being down with the flu and other sickness.  No one called  me to tell me, they were supposed to but somehow I got left off the list to call.

For New Years eve the at the Arcata Community center there is going to be a gathering to celebrate the new year, Some from our chruch are participating in the program and I suppose there will others from other churchs as well. There will be bands and food etc. Just a alcohol free New Years party.

Well TTYL

Marilyn, We are on our way.  Let's see, if we drive, it is about 3 or 4 days.  Gotta give Bernard a day or two to get off work and get things squared up there, adn get the vehicle serviced.  Meanwhile, I will get our things ready.  So, we should be there by next Saturday. ;D

I wish.  :-\

We had a good church service this morning.  Attendance was down because of the flu and stuff, but good anyway.  we are playing hookie tonight because I am absolutely wiped out and don't feel good.  'nuff whining.

I hope to be in here more in the next few days, now that everyhting is getting back to "normal."  we have been running ragged the past few days.

I have been reading , though, just haven't had time to post.

Back later!!1

Chris & Margit Saunders

Margit and I have just been watching In Touch on the TV,
with that great man,  Dr  Charles Stanley,
preaching on Romans ch 12 v 20.
We should try to live peaceably with all people
as much as it is in our power to do this.
Not easy sometimes, but as he says, God gives more grace to those who try.
But we must never  try for  peace at all costs, never go against scripture or our morals just to make peace,  peace at the cost of our conscience is not peace, for we will have no rest.
Loving against all the odds pricks the guilty one and may bring about a change in them.

Carol

We are so fortunate - our furnace stopped working and a young man is installing a new furnace today - on a Sunday with no extra cost.  His company does this for people out of heat.  We did feel pretty cool yesterday and last night but thankfully have lots of extra blankets.

We thank the Lord for having the money set aside for emergencies just like this - We thank the Lord for having extra blankets, hot food and coffee and all of the things we take for granted.  I know that there are people sleeping outdoors here right in our little city.  I know their names.  But for circumstances, all of us could be homeless - a disaster, health failings, and so forth.  I need to give thanks more.

Larry:  You mentioned slowing down and yes, I did slow down after being forced to come to a screeching halt and it didn't feel bad after all.  Thanks for your message.

Carol

Judy McKenna

Chris and Margit:  Funny that you should mention Charles Stanley.  I was just reading a pamphlet that I got in the mail, and he is coming to this area (well near Guelph) on January 12th. :)

I plan on driving to the chapel where he will be.  Pat - if you read this, and wish to go, let me know.  I'll be in touch!  Charles Stanley's program comes on TV here each Sunday evening around 8:pm, and I seldom miss it.  He is such a terrific speaker. :)

Well, just as I was sitting down to type, I heard a crash.  Norm was washing the hall floor, and he slipped and fell to the floor, taking a table lamp with him. :o

Apparently he twisted his knee, popping it out of place, it sure is swollen, and he is limping quite badly. :'(

Good grief. :-[ :-[..what next, is what we both said at the same time.  It sure scared me though to see him flat out on the floor.  He will be okay (hopefully)., I will get an ice pack to put around his knee. ::)

Etta Sue:  I have taken Flexeral..its a muscle relaxant, and its one drug that I can't take.  It makes me dizzy, and even the next day, I feel "out of it".  Too bad you aren't closer....I'd give you the ones I have left over! lol
::) :-[
The weather here has been lovely.  I think it reached close to 60 deg F. :D :D

Well, Norm needs me to make him some tea, and I need to find a tensor bandage for his knee.

I'll try and come back a little later. ;)

Marilyn...sure wish I was there to help you eat those beans....would you put the recipe in the kitchen area so we can all make them? :-\

Thanks.....Love to all. :-*....Judy :D

Judy M............

You're very fortunate to have Charles Stanley visiting your area.  I hope Pat picks up on your invite.  I love his teaching, and have many of his audio and video tapes.  When we attended John MacArthur's Grace CommunityChurch in the L.A. area, John encouraged his congregation to listen to Stanley (As a second choice) ;D Naw, he didn't really say that. ;D

Another thought.  We watch Adrian Rogers (Love Worth Finding) EVERY Sunday morning before we go to church.  We refuse to miss him, he's such a great teacher of the Word.

Marylin........

Couldn't eat your chili if I was sitting in your kitchen.  I'm on a heart smart diet, can't eat red meat.  Now if it was made of turkeyburger, it would be another story.

I mean't to add this as well.  On Christmas day, my friends who we were visiting said I should get the book "Whats so Amazing about Grace".  by Philip Yancy.

Has anyone read it?  She said "read it Judy... it will change your life". She also said that if everyone in our churches read it., our churches would be changed!.... comments please?!

Hello, friends.  I just got here.  We attended church this morning, came home and fed the kids, rested a while, took them back to Hugoton to play Paintball with the cousins, back home.  Need to get them something to eat again.

I have taken cold, despite all my precautions, and am feeling pretty blah, so intend to go to bed as early as I can get these four kids to go (Abby is here now, too.)  My son Jim and his daughter Katy were supposed to get here today, but are not here yet.  :'(

See you tomorrow.
